Schools are returning, most holidays are over and Autumn is fast approaching; A perfect time to re-set the mind, outline goals and affirm intentions. There is definitely a cool nip in the air!

Another new month to initiate a fresh start to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to stay healthy, lose weight as well as those who wish to maintain; to encourage a healthy & varied diet and to exercise.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lb. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back (mainly) on track. I Would love to wave bye to another half a stone 😬 The main thing is to never give up! Keep going!

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

PS - Positive thought:- If you were to lose on average a 1lb per week you’ll be at least a stone lighter by Christmas 🎄

I've just been reading a thread about swimsuits and it's reminded me I need to get a new one. Last January we went to Center parcs and I'd gone from 68kg to 60kg and it was loose then. It's one of those 3 piece tankini things. Now I'm 12kg less than when I bought it and all being well, by the time we go on holiday in February I'll have lost a total of 14kg and it will be in danger of falling down and rising up. A win, but not fir my wallet.

Bomblette · 27/09/2023 07:38

But a really satisfying win! Can’t wait to be at that stage @JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots

I’m here to record that half a lb has gone on. No idea why - I’ve got the busiest working week of my life this week, running around, no time to eat. Maybe cortisol-related??

I’m pissed off, but I’m not going to let it push me off course. Will make sure I make time to eat sensibly and count my macros, since that’s what seems to be working for me.

Feeling positive here. First WOW was last week - I seemed to have had a dramatic loss, which all then immediately disappeared by Thursday morning 😂 however I have watched my weight steadily go down this week, so I think it's a real one this time.

SW: 97.5
CW: 96.7
5% : 92.5

Good luck to everyone weighing. I'm off swimming this morning.

NothingTraLaLa · 27/09/2023 08:32

Morning all!

Another slight loss again this week. I’m definitely losing weight more quickly since starting on Zoe BUT I suspect that is mainly because a) I’m logging everything I eat which means I really think about what I’m eating rather than doing it on autopilot, and b) it encourages a fairly low carb, high fibre diet.

SW 128 lbs
CW 121.6 lbs
TW 119 lbs

2Early4Breakfast · 27/09/2023 08:34

A rather inactive week, and feeling a bit lumpy. Looking at when I get fresh air and exercise, I do best before 10am. That's going to be part of my morning routine every morning from now on.

Down 0.8 kg to 112.7 kg.

HughCanoe · 27/09/2023 08:49

Morning all.

SW 12st 10lbs
CW 12st 6lbs
GW 10st 7lbs - upper range normal BMI for me

Need to work on portions and increase protein.

Have to take it easy exercise wise because my Optician is monitoring one of my eyes over next five weeks.

HughCanoe · 27/09/2023 08:50

Well done everyone - going down slowly but surely is the right way. I suspect I have the beginner's boost but it will slow from now.

fedupofbuilders · 27/09/2023 09:00

Happy Wednesday everyone.
I have had a mixed week - a lovely lunch out where I chose exactly what I wanted (pulled pork chilli with sour cream and spring onions) and a lovely evening when friend cooked Moussaka.
To compensate have had a couple of days OMAD and a couple of days where I delayed eating until 1pm
Still in a positive mood, happy with a .9kg loss
WOW SW 70k
CW 67.3kg
Keep going everyone!

ThriceInALifetime · 27/09/2023 09:50

Hello can I join in to try and motivate myself please!

Have been putting on too much weight, just back from a weekend away and looked really heavy in the photos. Have noticed I've developed a big sagging double chin too! Always had a bit of a double chin but never as bad.
Just been eating too much rubbish and drinking wine.
Off work this week so have been trying to cut down.
About 5 or 6 years ago was very loosely doing intermittent fasting/ 16:8 and managed to get down to 10 stone 7 so know that works a bit for me!

I'm 52, 5 foot 1 inch

11 stone 6.2- weight on Monday.
11 stone 3.2- weight today (Wednesday).

Know this will probably be water loss.

I've always ran on and off since a teenager, also other exercise classes which stopped with covid. Went for a 6km jog/ walk yesterday. Also walking the dog. Trying to get back into Pilates.

Well done everyone on your weight losses!

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 27/09/2023 09:59

@HughCanoe I am a slow and steady loser. It's the best way imo. Despite eating what I want when I want from the beginning of July until September I didn't gain massively and I'm talking lots of sweets, chocolate, popcorn, ice cream, chips and eating at any time of day with not much exercise. I'll find my graph and post it. The very low 52kg was due to some medical procedures and not a true weight. The 54kg was my lowest true weight. On my way back down now. I was BMI 26 something and now 21 something.

Down 0.4kg this week, a little bit but down is down! I'm going on holiday in a few weeks so I have some motivation!!

Good work everyone, and keep going!

WeirdPookah · 27/09/2023 10:54

I lost just over 1lb this week.... which means...

🎉 60lbs weight loss total!! 🎉

If I lose over 2lbs this coming week I will hit two significant milestones, so we shall see! Been on a 3 mile walk this morning, before the predicted storm hits us, meant to be pretty nasty later on.

Yesterday:
B: black bean burrito
L: vegetarian chili, small potato, cheese
D: minestrone, chicken, pesto
protein pudding for snack

Today:
B: kidney bean burrito
L: minestrone, pesto
D: cauliflower/potato mash, peas, mushy peas, fish fingers

HughCanoe · 27/09/2023 11:38

🥳🥳🥳🥳 WeirdPooka 🌟🌟🌟🌟

NothingTraLaLa · 27/09/2023 11:46

Well done @WeirdPookah !!!

LemonDrizzle23 · 27/09/2023 11:51

@WeirdPookah what an achievement!!! Well done!

ImALittlePea · 27/09/2023 12:28

Hi all, well done to everyone who has weighed and stayed accountable! You're all doing fab!

Amazing milestone @WeirdPookah well done you!

My resolve has slipped more as the week has progressed, partly because I'm very stressed and overwhelmed with to-do jobs and some other crap as our holiday looms! We're off for a week of AI so I'll no doubt be having to hit reset after anyway. I haven't decided whether to weigh on Friday or whether to take my weight last week as movement over hols or not yet. Feels a bit cowardly not to weigh - it's not going to make any difference apart from possibly making me feel a bit deflated. We shall see.

TTFN!

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 27/09/2023 12:47

@WeirdPookah well done!! That's an amazing loss!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 27/09/2023 19:22

Very pleased to have lost 1lb this week despite consuming too much at the weekend and not being able to exercise!

WeirdPookah · 27/09/2023 19:26

@JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots @ImALittlePea @NothingTraLaLa @HughCanoe @LemonDrizzle23 thank you ALL!

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 27/09/2023 22:48

The no eating after dinner is proving tough but it always is at the beginning. I've eaten far too much curiously cinnamon cereal lately but especially today. I barely ate yesterday though so it evens out. It's all I've fancied. I eat it dry. I miss Golden Graham's. They were the best.
10 miles walked today. No eating after 6pm. I'll take that as a win.
The storm they forecast isn't up to much here. I was hoping for a wild night of wind and rain.

PieFaceAndLovingIt · 28/09/2023 01:36

SW: 17 stone 10
CW: 16 stone 11

Natural yogurt and sultanas are my safety net "treat", my face is thinner and 16:8 is a little bit easier now.🙃

DomesticElf · 28/09/2023 04:10

Oh natural yoghurt and sultanas you say.. 🤤 I may need to give it a go.

DomesticElf · 28/09/2023 04:11

Massive well-done on all the progress, everyone!

JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots · 28/09/2023 08:58

Morning all. I must do better with water today. I'm going back to daily weighing to avoid any nasty surprises on a Wednesday. I've always found keeping a constant watch to be the best motivation for staying on track.

Have a great day and don't forget your 🍾
