Hi all. Just spotted the previous thread filled up so thought I’d start a new one quickly.

0.5mg is 36 clicks, 1mg is 72 clicks.

So if you want to go from 1mg to say midway to 1.35mg, it will be 97 clicks.

PlasticineKing · 06/12/2023 09:51

@NigellaAwesome is that for a 1.7mg pen? Or for a 1mg? Want to make sure I get it right 😂

TheWayOfTheWorld · 06/12/2023 10:25

The clicks are the same whatever the dosage of the pen.

I took my second dose of 0.75 on Monday and spent a chunk of yesterday and most of the night feeling rotten again. Thank god I didn't go up to 1 😭

PlasticineKing · 06/12/2023 12:37

@TheWayOfTheWorld oh that’s great to know!

I was similar moving up to 1mg. I went to 0.75 first and was fine, but the 1mg I felt the effects for weeks before it completely settled. Would often find myself feeling quite grotty on a Wednesday. So I’m not keen to jump from 1mg to 1.7, it seems huge. And only 10kg or so to go now too. Hoping to be done with active weight loss by April, then start tapering down.

Tay80 · 12/12/2023 20:04

Hi, does anyone know, can you count the clicks on a Wegovy pen the same as you can with Ozempic please?

NigellaAwesome · 13/12/2023 22:32

Yes, they are the same pens, same strength. Just different brand names.

Nichebitch · 14/12/2023 08:05

Question - I have to start a new pen on the middle of my holiday, but pens can only be out of the fridge once started? Can I travel with an unopened pen? Thank you!

You have 56 days from either when you open the pen OR when you store it out of the fridge before it expires.

How is everyone finding Christmas and new year going for them? I’ve found I’ve been binging and that’s me on 1.7mg!

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 30/12/2023 07:59

@flouncymcflouncerson - are you truly binging or are you just having a bit more/ bit different than usual?

Previously for me a binge would be a full tube of Pringles, a giant chocolate bar and a huge bag of haribo ON TOP of my meals. There's no way I could have that now.

Over Xmas I have had a few extra treats but the full to bursting feeling when I eat is still there and I can't fight that - the treats have replaced real food this year instead of being as well as.

TotteringByRosie · 30/12/2023 15:11

I was binging over Christmas too, put on half a stone in the last week! Will start being sensible again tomorrow. I'm going to increase my dose too, but the jump to 1.7mg seems huge so I will increase to 1.25mg initially.

2kidsintow · 30/12/2023 17:47

I'd got up to 1mg, but then had to drop to 0.5 last weekend due to a gap in ordering and the company not wanting to give me the same dose that I was on....whatever!

I've gained 1lb over Christmas. I've eaten all the bad foods, but in much smaller quantities than I normally would have over the Christmas week. And I frequently feel over-full and end up subconsciously skipping meals. Eg today I had a small latte and some toast at costa while waiting for friends, then felt so stuffed I skipped lunch. I've got fed up of eating badly so dinner today has been half a bread roll and a prawn and crayfish salad with a little cocktail sauce. And I'm back to feeling stuffed which will probably last until bedtime.

It's the full feeling that has also made me cut right back on the amount of alcohol I've drunk this holiday too as I just don't fancy it.

It also makes me less interested in eating sweets and chocolates, although I have def indulged in that daily at the mo, hust not in big quantities.

Oooiwanna · 30/12/2023 18:59

Is anyone finding Wegovy / Ozempic stops working after a while? I’ve been on Ozempic then Wegovy since April. I’ve lost about 20 pounds without dieting as such but in the last three months I haven’t lost anything. I’m wondering if I should give up with it? I’m on 1.7 mg now and did do a month on 2.4 but that didn’t do much so went back down to 1.7. Has anyone had similar responses and what did you do?

2kidsintow · 30/12/2023 22:05

I'd lost a stone over a year prior to taking Oz/Wey and then lost another stone and a half with it. I've only gone as high as 0.75, for several weeks, with one week of full 1mg.

I also found I lost weight without dieting and that it then ground to a halt pretty much. I still appreciate not having to worry about putting the weight on and find that I am very slowly still losing weight, a lb here and there, but other weeks am staying the same. But for what I'm paying for it, and the fact I've still got another stone to lose, I should be taking it more seriously.

So I've got 2 doses of a 0.5 pen left, and another 1mg pen ordered, which I'll prob use to go back up to 0.75 as well as restarting exercise in the new year when the class reopens I like to go to, but have missed due to a bad shoulder for much of '23. And I'm going to double down and eat more healthily, with more fruit and veg.

YesshesaidyesiwillYes · 30/12/2023 22:29

Is the diet basically a drug to suppress appetite to help limit calories or does the drug speed up your metabolism?

flouncymcflouncerson · 31/12/2023 14:32

I’ve definitely noticed diminished effects. It’s why I’ve just moved up onto the highest dose as a final push. I’ve stayed the same one or two pounds up and down since 9th November so hoping a final 4 weeks at the highest dose will reboot the system and I can decide how to go from here.

as for the binging, I guess it’s not truly massive binging but definitely a small one. 2 walnut while followed by a wispa. But still more food than I’d been managing or wanting to eat before when using it.

ApoodlecalledPenny · 01/01/2024 18:37

It doesn’t speed up your metabolism. It’s also not just an appetite suppressant - it slows the food moving through your digestive system so that you are literally fuller for longer.

I think you have to diet with it for it to really work. I’m finding I lose approx 2lb a week, on approx 1200kcal a day, without much pain. I’m on 0.5 at the moment, and about 10 weeks (and 10kg) in.

Lou739 · 21/01/2024 16:02

Hi all I know this is a long shot but would anyone have any idea where I can order Ozempic and have it delivered to ROI? Can’t get a prescription as it’s for weight loss I’m hoping to use it for. Any help appreciated I’m so afraid of being scammed online x

@Lou739, I don't know, but do you not know anyone in NI where you could get it posted to?

NigellaAwesome · 19/02/2024 20:52

Ffs, I need help. It's been a while since anyone was on this thread, but I need a bit of help as I have really messed up my dosing.

Due to unavailability of pens late last year, I was basically buying whatever was available and had put off progressing on the dosing schedule. I had had a 0.5mg Ozempic pen, then got a 1mg ozempic pen. I was doing a 0.5mg weekly dose, counting 36 clicks, rising to 54 clicks for a 0.75mg dose from the end of November. From mid Jan this year I planned to progress to 1mg per week, ie 72 clicks.

I was able to buy a 2.4mg Wegovy pen, and have been doing 72 clicks per week since mid Jan and the pen has just run out after 4 weeks. There is 9.6mg in the pen, so by my calculations there should have been 9 1/2 weeks doses assuming 1mg per week (I was planning to increase to 1.7mg, but didn't have a chance to as it ran out). So, does this mean that I have been giving myself 2.4mg for the last month when I thought I was doing 1mg?

Does anyone have the 2.4mg wegovy, and would you mind counting how many clicks are in a 2.4mg dose?

I am utterly confused. I think I have progressed directly from 0.75mg per week to 2.4mg without any titration. To top everything off, I am not losing any weight. My appetite is reduced, but the weight is completely stubborn and I have had really bad heartburn for weeks.

I hope the ramble and figures make sense Confused

Striving4Better · 20/02/2024 20:25

@NigellaAwesome No personal experience, but it does rather look like you have been taking a full dose.

A Reddit poster said: "In the UK my Wegovy flextouch 2.4mg had 75 clicks to get the full 2.4mg dose. I just did simple math(s) to get approximate doses, 37 clicks = 1.2mg - 18 clicks = 06mg and 9 clicks for 0.3mg".

The different dose pens contain different strengths of liquid:

Wegovy 0.25 mg FlexTouch solution for injection
Each pre-filled pen contains 1 mg semaglutide* in 1.5 mL solution.
One mL of solution contains 0.68 mg semaglutide*.
One pre-filled pen contains 4 doses of 0.25 mg.

Wegovy 0.5 mg FlexTouch solution for injection Each pre-filled pen contains 2 mg semaglutide in 1.5 mL solution. One mL of solution contains 1.34 mg semaglutide. One pre-filled pen contains 4 doses of 0.5 mg.

Wegovy 1 mg FlexTouch solution for injection Each pre-filled pen contains 4 mg semaglutide in 3 mL solution. One mL of solution contains 1.34 mg semaglutide. One pre-filled pen contains 4 doses of 1 mg.

Wegovy 1.7 mg FlexTouch solution for injection Each pre-filled pen contains 6.8 mg semaglutide in 3 mL solution. One mL of solution contains 2.27 mg semaglutide. One pre-filled pen contains 4 doses of 1.7 mg.

Wegovy 2.4 mg FlexTouch solution for injection
Each pre-filled pen contains 9.6 mg semaglutide in 3 mL solution. One mL of solution contains 3.2 mg semaglutide. One pre-filled pen contains 4 doses of 2.4 mg.

Did you use a click chart for a 2.4mg pen?

How did you feel on this dose? If you thought you were on 1mg and were actually taking 2.4, I'm surprised you weren't floored.

NigellaAwesome · 20/02/2024 23:15

Thanks for that @Striving4Better. I think you are right, I've been taking 2.4mg for the last month.

I did notice a reduction in appetite, and had more heartburn than usual, but it has made damn all difference to my weight.

I've started tracking food on mfp today to see if I can identify what might be impeding weight loss.

2kidsintow · 23/02/2024 18:07

I didn't feel like I got the full dose last week on my last dose (in fact I know I didn't), no idea why. So not surprised when I've found it a bit harder this week. That and a combination of a few eating out times has meant that I've put back on a lb or two (temporarily). No desire for pudding or alcohol even though others were indulging though.

What I have noticed is that people who haven't seen me for a while have been complimentary. And the people who I sit and eat lunch with (and who obv know nothing about it) have been commenting (politely) on how little I eat. One actually asked me today if I get hungry as she says, compared to her, I eat very little.

OoohLovelySlippers · 24/02/2024 19:43

I have been on 2.4mg Wegovy for a couple of months and definitely feel it's less effective than I was hoping. I'm going to switch to Mounjaro. Sadly I have to start on 2.5mg of that (Boots won't prescribe a higher starting dose) and work up to the highest dose of 15mg.

Can't believe my appetite used to be suppressed on 0.5mg. This must be how heroin addition works - you just need more and more!!!!!!!

I'm under 11st so not far away from a healthy weight (I'm short though). But I'm only losing about 2lbs/month which is just painful. I'm 40 now though so maybe that's part of it. I remember when I could lose half a stone in a week.
