Hi all. Just spotted the previous thread filled up so thought I’d start a new one quickly.

Question for all longer term users - just out of curiosity and for inspiration.

Do you think you would have managed to lose weight without the help of the injections? Or did this make a big difference to you, and why?

Also, did you change your lifestyle in any way at the same time as being on Ozempic/Wegovy or was the only change you consciously made starting the injections?

I'm only on week one and keep hearing a lot about food noise reducing and getting fuller much quicker and I can't quite imagine what that feels like. 😂I'm so so looking forward to it as I've totally lost control of that. Did this take the misery of feeling slightly hungry/cravings when dieting in traditional means away for you? Or do you find you still have to resist slip ups?

TheGoodEnoughWife · 27/09/2023 18:15

I don't think I could have lost the weight I have without Ozempic (5st, six months. BMI from 37.7 to 28).

I think I could have lost a couple of stone as I have over the last few years (and put it back on!) but I cannot remember the last time I was this weight. Maybe 25yrs ago.

I changed my lifestyle AFTER I started. Being more active really.

I think it has been absolutely life changing for me.

Zempy · 27/09/2023 18:39

@OpheliaABC I have osteoarthritis and have been able to exercise as a result of losing weight with Ozempic. I was in too much pain before.

I am a super responder so had appetite loss and disappearance of food noise within 8 hours of first dose.

Lrs · 27/09/2023 21:03

Hi everyone
(Sorry if this has already been discussed but I have searched through previous threads and can't find the answer- I'm new to Mumsnet & ozempic )
I done my first jab of 0.25 on Monday 8am and I was expecting to start experiencing the symptoms by now but I don't feel any different I fact I feel like I'm craving rubbish! I feel like I've eat more chocolate and crap this week than I have in a while! I am very confused. I'm hoping that is just hormonal cravings and the jab will start to work soon?

How long did it take to start seeing side effects/ results?

Thank you x

ZiggZagg · 27/09/2023 21:12

Hi some have felt it straight away, some in a few weeks. It just depends on how your body reacts to it. Don't be tempted to up your dose or anything, give it time to build up in your system. 😊

liz4change · 28/09/2023 07:25

I experienced appetite suppression pretty much straight away. During the first couple of months i had the occasional episode of nausea/queasiness. The nausea was usually because I had forgotten to eat. Queasiness if I'd eaten larger portions/rich food.

FrancisSeaton · 29/09/2023 09:46

Hi all looking for Ozempic at the best price can anyone help- google search returns many possibly dodgy results

Peridot1 · 30/09/2023 09:40

@Lrs - you are in the very lowest dose and while some people respond really quickly even on the low dose for most it takes time. It needs to build up in your system. So follow the dosing schedule and trust the process. Concentrate on eating more protein and fibre and drinking lots of water.

@FrancisSeaton - I think you will be better off trying to get Wegovy if you are just starting.

I would love to but it's the stock issues that worry me with wegovy and I want to get started asap

Twiglets1 · 30/09/2023 09:57

Yes @FrancisSeaton you are better off trying to get Wegovy or failing that, Saxenda.

I cannot find wevovy anywhere sadly

Peridot1 · 30/09/2023 11:33

People are managing to buy Wegovy so keep trying. Quick Meds, Right Angled are a couple of suppliers that seem to get stock in.

Thanks for that will have a look
It's much easier to find places if people can vouch for them I find

FrancisSeaton · 30/09/2023 11:59

I've managed to order Ozempic tablets to try I think they will be better for me. I am having tests for sleep apnoea so if it comes back I have it I should be able to get wegovy from the gp so fingers crossed

FrancisSeaton · 30/09/2023 12:00

This was from right angled, didn't find this pharmacy during my searches so thanks for recommending them

BrendaLee · 02/10/2023 13:00

Just jabbed myself with 0.5 mg Ozempic for the first time so joining in for info and moral support.
I’ve done 2 months with 3 then 7mg Rybelsus with not a lot to show for it so hoping that the injections will have a bit more effect.
Fingers crossed…

Beenalongwinter · 02/10/2023 19:33

What is everyone paying for 1mg Ozempic please? It seems to have gone up to £260 for 1mg!

QOD · 04/10/2023 08:37

£299 🤦🏼‍♀️

NigellaAwesome · 04/10/2023 14:16

I bought a 0.5mg pen for £250 from Rigthangeled, and a 1mg pen from Care Pharmacy for £299. I'm eking them out to every 10 days, and only doing 0.5mg each dose, so that £550 will hopefully last 120 days / 4 months, but that is still working out at almost £140 per month, even with sub-optimal dosing.

Kfjsjdbd · 04/10/2023 21:16

I just spent £299 on a 1mg pen from RightAngled. Really hope the price comes down soon!

Zempy · 04/10/2023 21:26

I just did the same @Kfjsjdbd

Not great for my bank balance, but I now have enough product to last me until Christmas hopefully.

Increasing from .375 to .5 this weekend, and hoping to keep the dose there for a while.

Kfjsjdbd · 04/10/2023 21:34

Same with the bank balance!

I’ve been on Ozempic since Feb and have lost 30lbs since then. I’ve definitely plateaued more recently, but still get the odd lb dropping off every few weeks. Am at my goal weight pretty much which feels amazing.

Zempy · 04/10/2023 21:56

That’s good to hear. I have lost about 20 pounds since starting at the beginning of July but am pretty stuck now, and still another seventeen pounds to lose to get to my goal weight of 10 and a half stone at 5 ft 5.

I increased from 0.25 to 0.375 but it’s not really cutting it so I’m going up to 0.5 now. To be fair I responded amazingly well and have been lucky to lose so much on ten weeks of minimum dosage.

Bunnybuttkins · 08/10/2023 21:44

Hi, how did you manage to order the 1mg pen from them? It won’t allow me to order that one. It only allows me to order a .25mg pen for £199.00

oh I don’t think so. 1 dose for £199

Thank you so much

DrMadelineMaxwell · 08/10/2023 22:31

0.25 pen has 8 doses in it. But still damned expensive for 2 doses of 1mg
