☀️LOSE IT! April 2023 Countdown to Summer☀️

⭐️Open to previous members as well as new members⭐️

Summer countdown starts here! The holidays are right around the corner so it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back on track.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes!

Wow at all the wows! Awesome work everyone!

Karatema · 19/04/2023 12:21

Just found this thread and I do need support from non judgy people.

I need to get back down to 67 kilos and then, hopefully, lose a little bit more. I've been bobbing around at my current weight for over a year and it has to change or my health will suffer 🙁

Lionnose · 19/04/2023 12:34

Well done everyone on your WOW’s they are fabulous this week and although mine isn’t, reading yours has kept me from reaching for the comfort food. I’ve been good-ish this week but didn’t weigh last week after an awful week so think it’s still part of the damage from that.

SW: 63.4kg
CW: 63kg (+0.6kg)
GW: 57kg

Hoping to do a 45min hill walk/jog later. Just had a sweet potato as a snack and will get my 🍾in me.

here’s to a good week this week.

Hoolahoophop · 19/04/2023 12:54

May I join you all, I'm just home from a beach holiday and looking at all the beautiful young things has inspired me. I know ill never be back to my 20s figure, but I'd like to feel confident in a bikini again.

My post holiday weight was 58.2kg this morning (which was up at least 2kg from pre holiday)
My goal weight is 49kg.

I know that sounds low but I am very, very short!

I'll be calorie counting using my fitness pal and hoping that with the better weather a more Mediterranean diet will help.

My downfall is chocolate and crisps.....and fussy eater children which means we eat a lot of stodgy beige food to keep them happy.

Puffalicious · 19/04/2023 13:19

Hey all,

1lb off this week. It's very slow, as usual, 🐢, but going in the right direction.

SW 13st 2
CW 12 St 10
GW 10st 12

Hoping for the half stone next week. 🙏

AutisticLegoLover · 19/04/2023 14:36

@Hoolahoophop I wish I had photos of me in my 20s when I was pre children and must have have a better figure although I've never had a flat stomach.
@Ninjachicken you've reminded me that AF is due here too. I usually bloat on day two after being extra hungry the day before it starts and particularly tired. My head bangs the day before and day 1 too. A fairly recent occurrence since peri-menopause. Amitriptyline has been a godsend for those headaches. Is suffered from headaches due years but the cyclical ones that developed were horrendous until amitriptyline was suggested by my GP.
Well done on the losses everyone!

AutisticLegoLover · 19/04/2023 14:40

Welcome new people 😊

Puffalicious · 19/04/2023 15:28

And thank you AutisticLegoLover feeling a little more positive. 2 weeks' holiday has recharged and refreshed me, I reckon.

TheRealHousewife · 19/04/2023 15:49

Posted on the February thread! How do I do these things?? Thankyou @TheRealHousewife for noticing!
Had a NSV on my 50th this week. Beautiful old bangle now fits easily after I had to prise it off quite painfully last year. It was a 40th birthday gift from DH and I'm now jangling away with the new one he just gave me for my 50th.
Realised I'm eating at maintenance level which is why I've been hovering in the same 1kg range for 5 weeks. So from Monday I'll tighten up the "rules" as I've a couple of celebratory meals before then.
Aiming for 74kg before I go overseas 28th May. Completely doable I think.
Well done everyone else. Some awesome posts this week. And heaps of lovely support as always.
Wednesday weigh in:
SW 88.8
CW 75.9
TW 74kg

ThreeRingCircus · 19/04/2023 18:20

Hello all, I'd like to re-join you please. I was on these threads a while ago under a previous name but got annoyed with myself losing and regaining the same few lbs over and over again. I really need to focus again and get back into a healthy way of eating as I think I've got into such bad habits I've lost sight of what is normal.

So far this month:

SW: 14 st 11 lbs
CW: 14 st 8 lbs
GW: 11 st

I feel like I've got such a long way to go so am focusing hard on just getting rid of these 8 lbs and into the 13 st bracket. I've been 14 st something for the last couple of years so that will be an achievement. Then I'll focus on the next half stone.

Today's meals

B - a latte (I just can't give these up, I'm seriously addicted but have swapped to skimmed milk and just treat it as my breakfast.)

L - shakshuka with tomatoes, onions, chilli, black beans and two poached eggs. Flatbread to dunk.

D - sweet potato and coconut soup.

AutisticLegoLover · 19/04/2023 18:43

@Weatherwax13 Happy Birthday! Lovely NSV😃

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 19/04/2023 20:10

Down 1.5lb this week - woo hoo! I've not been making much progress recently (all my own fault) so this felt good!

8lbs away from my target for the summer.

Today's food:
B - boiled egg, toast, lemon water
L - tomato & sweet potato soup (home made), falafel x 2 and small portion of humous, apple, tiny snack size choc bar
D - Beef stir fry.

Re-started C25K and completed some strength physio (had a few injuries/issues in recent months).

Off to catch up on thread!

Retsina24 · 19/04/2023 21:09

Early days for.
SW:10st11
CW: 10st 8.2 (probably water weight but I'll take it 😅).
TW: somewhere around 9st 10.

I'm on a training course tomorrow with lunch included. Uh oh!

buzzofthebumblebee · 19/04/2023 21:11

Happy 50th Birthday @Weatherwax13 . Welcome to the club! Hope you have had a great birthday week, and roll on your holiday.

Welcome to all the new people. I've lost 2 stone being here (a little back on but since re -lost). It's not easy - takes effort, but it is SO worth it!

So lovely to hear you brighter @Puffalicious . Long may it last, and hope that the brighter weather makes for happier all of us.

TheRealHousewife · 19/04/2023 21:38

@Weatherwax13 Dont mention it; we all have those moments 😬. If you’re on point until end of May you should easily lose 2kg! Everything crossed for you.

Welcome back @ThreeRingCircus 👍 You know these threads help 😊

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo Great loss! Keep it up. 👍👏

@Retsina24 Off to a flying start! Well done 👏

Well done @Puffalicious Every bit helps👍

Right i'm in!

3.5 st to lose and 3lbs down this week.

Eating clean
Low carb
Trying to exercise everyday.

Will post here for accountability 😊

AutisticLegoLover · 19/04/2023 22:33

Another successful day here.
11.8 miles walked
250 calories less than yesterday so well below my usual amount
Skincare routine followed
I relaxed and watched tv for half an hour while I had lunch today. It was nice for a change.
Oats and chia is in the fridge ready to be microwaved in the morning.

I'm feeling properly hungry this week rather than eating because I just want to. Last week I was eating mindlessly. This week I'm back to planning things and eating sensibly. Long mày it continue.

Weatherwax13 · 20/04/2023 02:57

@AutisticLegoLover @buzzofthebumblebee @TheRealHousewife

Thanks for the good wishes ⭐️

AutisticLegoLover · 20/04/2023 07:08

Morning all, checking in with an all time low of 56.25kg! I'm astounded by how fast the Easter indulgence has disappeared and taken extra with it. On happy scale I'm on milestone 10 now to get to my final weight. I was looking back at February when I was desperate to get to 60kg for my holiday and now I weigh 8lbs less than that. As long as I'm keep on the straight and narrow thanks to this thread I'm going to finally give myself the birthday present I've always wanted. I haven't been in the 8 stone range for about 20 years. My best has been hovering around 9 stone 3lb which is what I was before and after having ds 8 years ago. It feels good. I feel back in control of my eating finally and have seen that an indulgent week is easily fixed so won't worry about having a week off again. My eating habits are much healthier with far less highly processed foods, more fruit, more protein and my clothing options are better now I'm able to fit in many old favourites. A favourite band T-shirt from 10 years ago, a summer dress I bought the first summer of being a single parent aka best summer ever. I'm wittering on but I feel so liberated in a way and it's thanks to the support of you lovely lot so a big thank you for giving me the support and accountability I needed 🥰

teethiepegs · 20/04/2023 07:43

Morning all. I've just cast my eye back over the thread after being away for a while. I've lost 1lb over last two weeks. I am noticing that I eat less than others now and feel satisfied with that. I used to eat more. Good that I'm getting in tune with my body's needs as I get older.
I like the sound of your walking routine @AutisticLegoLover we do learn to allow time for it when the option of jumping in the car just isn't there.
I cycle everywhere as my username suggests, but it doesn't seem to have an affect on the scales.
