⭐️Open to previous members as well as new members⭐️

Summer countdown starts here! The holidays are right around the corner so it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back on track.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes!

Good morning. My stomach is definitely flatter today but thanks to feeling terrible yesterday very little exercise was done. I will restart workouts today.

Having coffee with Inulin for breakfast and trying to hold out until lunch as not much food is in the house.

teethiepegs · 18/04/2023 07:42

Morning all! It's a full day of theory work at university for me today (I'm a student midwife).

Breakfast was overnight oats with banana and raspberries.

Lunch will be more veg sushi and a green salad - making the effort to take my packed lunch with me!

Dinner - not sure yet! Probably air fried potatoes, maybe with a big Asian slaw, maybe with air fried veg.

Ninjachicken · 18/04/2023 08:01

Morning all!
‘thanks for the encouragement @ImALittlePea it sounds like you have had a lovely weekend 🍾
nice to have you back @buzzofthebumblebee and @SingaporeSlinky great photo btw. Central America? Brazil?
i am taking inspiration from you @AutisticLegoLover and thinking about skincare and using my night moisturiser. I can be really lazy about it so thank you for motivating me!
your food sounds lovely @Lionnose love the sound of Thai green lentils. Do you fry the paste then add lentils etc?

‘’welcome to all the newcomers. I am 5 foot 1 too @Retsina24 i have been hovering at just over 10 stone for the last couple of months but it is just starting to move again now. @TheRealHousewife has lots of motivating , sensible advice!

i have a day off today with nothing to do for anybody else for once so I am going to meal plan and shop and take the dogs for a good walk. It’s very sunny here 🌞
meals:
L: steak with mushrooms
D: aubergine and chorizo recipe from fast 800 book

have a good day everyone !

AutisticLegoLover · 18/04/2023 08:15

The sun is trying to come out but it's pretty chilly here at the moment.
NSV this morning is I couldn't find my usual T-shirts so put one on that I ne er wear because it's shorter than I like and was too small. It's now baggy 😃 I am going to see if I can beat my walking distance from yesterday today.
Really hoping to see a drop tomorrow. 8 weeks to get to my birthday goal weight of 55kg.

Was126orbustandmaybebust · 18/04/2023 09:43

129.6 this morning - only 0.2 but at least in the right direction.
So impressed by the length of your walk yesterday @AutisticLegoLover your weight loss and that you aim to go further today.
I love to walk but it is time consuming - how long did it take you to clock up 10.5 miles?

AutisticLegoLover · 18/04/2023 09:45

@Was126orbustandmaybebust I don't dr

AutisticLegoLover · 18/04/2023 09:51

Ffs phone. I don't drive so walk everywhere. Yesterday I walked ds to school, walked back via the shops, went back up to the shops on the way to my mum's then carried heavy shopping up there, cleaned and did various jobs at her house, walked home, walked to school to collect ds, walked home with ds. That's pretty much my Monday to Friday routine. It's over a mile to school and over a mile to my mum's house. There's big hills involved and I walk briskly as always rushing about. I've walked 4 miles already today. It's just necessity really. Sure, I could get the bus but I don't see the point because it's good exercise and saves money.

AutisticLegoLover · 18/04/2023 09:54

Sorry, I didn't say how long it took. I don't know as I don't add it up but I'm out from 8.15 to 4.15 and each journey takes about 30 minutes so maybe 3 hours minimum if there's no shopping involved and I go the quickest way. That's just to get places though and doesn't include the walking around in between.

Was126orbustandmaybebust · 18/04/2023 09:56

I am totally with you @AutisticLegoLover when I was a SAHM I walked miles just living life!
Once I went back to work and even worse now that I am working from home I sometimes look at my Fitbit at 5.30 and see less than 1000 steps.
Well done on all your achievements.

SingaporeSlinky · 18/04/2023 09:57

Morning all. Yes it was Costa Rica. The sloth and baby were in the forest that our hotel was nestled in, amazing. Thanks for the welcome back. I was away for 2.5 weeks and did ok food wise. Generally ate 2 meals, a few snacks, no alcohol, lots of walking. Made pretty good breakfast choices like fruit (love buffets where there’s watermelon, mango, pineapple etc already cut, I find them such a faff to do). And didn’t have coffee every day, so less sugar. Kids were actually craving vegetables when we got back so did a chicken pie with loads of carrots and broccoli for dinner last night, nice comfort food.

Scales 9st 0 1/2 this morning so I’m pleased with that as I thought yesterday’s lowest weight might have been dehydration. I did crack open an Easter egg though, which we’d left here of course. It would be amazing to get down into the 8st bracket though, so I must be careful to not let everything slide.

Hope you all have a good day!

TheRealHousewife · 18/04/2023 10:59

Good Morning

Great tip @Was126orbustandmaybebust! I love both kiwis and pears.

@Nounoufgs What do think of inulin? I have some in the cupboard and forget it’s there!

@AutisticLegoLover Walking everywhere is a great way of getting your exercise minutes in!

@SingaporeSlinky You've returned as a ‘Singapore Slinky’! Well done, lovely weight!

Menu
Meal 1 - Boiled egg, red salmon, cottage cheese, chives. Homemade soup.
Meal 2 - Chicken tray bake.
Tea, black coffee & water.

Exercise
Session 1 - Pilates
Session 2 - Hand weights.

buzzofthebumblebee · 18/04/2023 15:15

Hope you are enjoying your day for you @Ninjachicken . Love aubergine, so will take a look for that 800 recipe. Thx for tip off.

B - 5 km run
L - roast squash & salmon salad with beetroot
S - pate on oatcakes
D - cod with pesto and roast veg

Not looking forward to weigh in tomorrow after Easter and long weekend away. Am sure I've crept back up to the 11s after my brief interlude in the 10s. Determined to get back to 10s by end of the month.

AutisticLegoLover · 18/04/2023 23:31

There's been some lovely holidays on here just recently and some great photos. It sounds like everyone is back on track after Easter and I hope we all see a loss tomorrow. A successful day here with more walking than yesterday, only by half a mile, but still more, less food by 100 so not much less, but still less. Lots of water, more than yesterday, but no vegetables at all. Lots of fruit though and extra chia seeds.
Let's see when tomorrow brings. I'm not expecting a loss but hopefully next week there'll be one.

Puffalicious · 19/04/2023 00:08

Hey all,

So motivating, as always. I've been gurgling with my new, massive 2 litre water bottle. Back to work yesterday and carting it everywhere, but hoping it makes a difference on the scales and overall feeling brighter. I used to drink so much water but am out of the habit (work I move around so kuchen that it's hard). I hope to keep it up from now on.

Hello newcomers. I'm new this time last month and get the frustration of scales not moving! I've been on here feeling so down/ negative, but everyone raises you up.

Singapore Slinky I thought it might be Costa Rica! DS's GF is off there this summer to volunteer with the baby sloths! I'm so envious of you both!

WOW tomorrow, so we'll see. Night all.

AutisticLegoLover · 19/04/2023 07:26

Morning all. @Puffalicious you sound like you're in a better place at the moment after your tough period earlier this month. I hope it stays positive for you.

WOW is 56.55kg so back in the 8 stone bracket. I'm still bloated after the Easter indulgence but at least it's moving.

SW 68.6kg 10 st 11lb September 2022
CW 56.56kg 8st 11lb
GW 55kg 8st 9lb

Currently 2lb off target

Hope every gets their wow and has a great day!

AutisticLegoLover · 19/04/2023 07:27

Sorry 8 st 12lb so 3lb to go.

teethiepegs · 19/04/2023 07:37

Morning!

Yesterday was a full on day at university, six hours of safeguarding children case studies which, honestly, put me in a bit of a bad mood!

However, this week I'm down three pounds making a total of seven.

Today will look like this -

Breakfast - sweet potatoes and strawberries (try it, it's incredible!)

Lunch - chickpea and kimchi stew (features a ton of veggies)

Dinner - air fried potatoes and broccoli again because it was delicious!

Exercise - half an hour of running, an hour of walking.

buzzofthebumblebee · 19/04/2023 08:03

great loss @teethiepegs especially after tough day yesterday. Keep going - you're doing great!

And only 2lbs from goal @AutisticLegoLover - so near!

As predicted, I'm up 2lbs to 11.0 after Easter & weekend away indulgences. But was actually expecting worse, and focus will see the 2lbs off again soon enough, so not stressing. Aim is 10 10 (and then maybe 10 7 but probably not as boobs will be non-existent by then)

DancingDoll · 19/04/2023 08:10

Morning all! I’ve had a crazy couple of weeks with lots of work and stuff going on so haven’t been exercising at all or eating as well as I would have liked to - however also not eaten as poorly as I used to do still showing a loss from 2 weeks ago!

I have some time freed up in my diary today to do some proper food and exercise planning - I definitely derail without dedicated time for training and a meal plan!

wow results:
SW 81kg
CW 77.2 (-1.3) kg
TW 67 kg

hope everyone is having a good week and the weather is as nice as it is here in Edinburgh- makes it a little easier to get motivated, I find, to get out in the sun!

TheRealHousewife · 19/04/2023 08:53

Good Morning

WOW - 9st 6.9lbs < Thrilled.

@AutisticLegoLover Well done on your loss and getting back into the 8s! 👏

@teethiepegs Great loss this week! Keep going! 👍👏

@DancingDoll You’re making solid progress! Well done! 👏

Menu
Meal 1 - Egg, salmon & cottage cheese. Homemade veg soup.
Meal 2 - Hake, carrots, peas & broccoli. Strawberry’s & Greek yoghurt.
Tea, black coffee & water.

12 days left in April. Progress can still be made in time for wearing shorter sleeves at month end (fingers crossed both for warmer weather & weight loss/toning up progress 🤞)

Morning all
63.6 kgs this morning!!! Very pleased with that especially as AF arrived yesterday
definitely gives me the motivation to carry on with the fast 800. I am enjoying the food and not feeling too hungry so far. Woken up with a headache this morning but that could be AF or the reduction in carbs I guess.
i had a lovely day off yesterday thanks @buzzofthebumblebee the aubergine and chorizo stew was really nice. I would recommend it.
well done @TheRealHousewife 🎉
meals today:
L: red lentil and coconut soup
D: leftover chorizo and aubergine stew maybe with some roasted broccoli
snacks if needed: unsalted almonds
lots of water 🍾

ImALittlePea · 19/04/2023 09:15

WOW.... Some really positive results and outlooks so far today, well done everyone!

I hope you had a nice day to yourself yesterday? @Ninjachicken

Yesterday was a decent day..
Morning snack - oat latte and about half a cookie (shared with DD at a cafe)
Lunch - smaller version of the cup-a-soup special as just wasn't hungry enough after the cookie!
Dinner - the last of the chilli on baked potato with some cheese

Did just shy of 10k steps yesterday, but also had a couple of glasses of wine after work 🤦‍♀️ my motivation is really waning at the moment, but going to try and keep my focus where I can. Having said that...

Today's plan:
Lunch - either scrambled eggs and beans, or cup-a-soup special
Dinner - takeaway 🤦‍♀️ DH is going on holiday tomorrow, I'm going to do a dance class and then pick something up to eat on the way home. Not ideal, I know, and no doubt I'll regret it when I weigh on Friday, but even though it's counter-intuitive I have prioritised the dance class over having time to cook (the dance class is so timed that I won't be able to eat before I go, and if I cook after we won't be eating until about 8.30, which is just too late for us).

I'm about to walk to town with DD, which is about 45 minutes, so that plus class means at least my activity today will be ok!

SingaporeSlinky · 19/04/2023 09:19

Ladies I am shook!
8st 12 1/2
I honestly don’t know why as I stuffed my face with chocolate and crisps yesterday, plus yoghurt and strawberries, plus a spag bol with parmesan. It clearly doesn’t reflect that, must be coming off from holiday still.

SW 9st 12
CW 8st 12 1/2
TW 8st 12

Well done everyone weighing today.

TheRealHousewife · 19/04/2023 09:25

@SingaporeSlinky Your weigh-in is most certainly WOW 😮👍👏

@ImALittlePea Well done on getting your 10k steps in 👍Sending some mojo your way ❤️

Great weigh-in @Ninjachicken 👍 Well done! 👏
