⭐️Open to previous members as well as new members⭐️

Summer countdown starts here! The holidays are right around the corner so it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back on track.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes!

Thank you ☺️ I'm feeling really good about it this morning. The walking is hard going this week after nearly 3 weeks of not much activity but needs must and it makes a big difference to my weight, sleep, and mood especially on a beautiful day like this.

Hoolahoophop · 20/04/2023 10:04

I'm loving seeing your menus, great inspiration.

So to join in today my plan is.

Breakfast: scrambled eggs with mushroom and spring onion

Lunch: A tuna, avocado sushi roll my dh found yellow stickered yesterday and bought for me.

Dinner: Homemade Lasagna with salad

Snacks: Tea, black coffee, fruit tea, water, water, water......and probably some chocolate this evening.

Hoping to do better than yesterday when I got home from school and ate lots of buttered cream crackers as well as some of the kids sweets.

Was126orbustandmaybebust · 20/04/2023 10:42

Well done on all the walking@AutisticLegoLover
DD2 is going back to Uni on Sunday so next week will be a more active one.
I was 129lbs exactly this morning - 3lbs to go.

TheRealHousewife · 20/04/2023 11:44

May I present, a new NSV ( non scale victory) discovered today whilst sat on my backside: a gap in my thighs where previously there was none. I've no chance of an actual thigh gap stood up as that is influenced by the pelvis and I will always be chunky of thigh thanks to genes.
I'm up to nearly 8 miles walking already and still have the school run to do. I'm really feeling it today and the school run hills are going to be an effort.

Hope everyone is having a great day and enjoying the sunshine while it lasts. I'm very hyper despite the tiredness so I'm sending out my positivity to all in the hope it rubs off for anyone who needs it. I'll be quiet now 😬

Hello All,
Hoping you will welcome me back, as I mentioned on the last thread I was having some health issues and awaiting results. Thankfully after much prodding poking and anxious waiting the issue has been diagnoses and benign. I completely fell off the wagon during this but somehow am still at 66.5kg so no crazy gain.
Trying to get back on track now! step one is breaking the habit I had fallen back into of picking myself up a treat on the way home from work. Telling myself I have done it before and therefore I can do it again.
Still aiming for the same ultimate goal of 62kg to give me some wiggle room around 65kg which is a good weight for me.

TheRealHousewife · 20/04/2023 15:34

@Allthegoodnamestakken Of course you're welcome back! So pleased to read alls benign with your health conditions. Hope you're soon back to full health! ❤️

Happy birthday @Weatherwax13 and great NSV!!!
nice to have you back @Allthegoodnamestakken excellent news about your diagnosis . You must be so relieved.
a 2 stone loss is amazing @buzzofthebumblebee very inspirational!

i have been hungrier than usual the last couple of days, guessing it’s AF. And I was a little up on the scales this morning. Hoping it will be gone tomorrow. I am going to have an earlier dinner as I am already hungry and I have no calories left for snacks!
B: small bowl of porridge
L: coconut and red lentil soup
D: last of the aubergine and chorizo stew with some feta
and lots of water !!!!

Nounoufgs · 20/04/2023 16:29

Hi @TheRealHousewife sorry I just returned today. Inulin is OK and does help you to feel fuller longer. It’s not going to work with calorie deficit/exercise etc.

Well done everyone and thanks for keeping me motivated! Yesterday was a good day, I worked out three times, didn’t eat much and felt great. Today I’ve had a couple of chicken breasts and a sandwich but not done any exercise yet.

I will stock up on healthy snack tonight. It’s amazing- if you don’t have unhealthy food, you can’t eat it. I’ve lost all appetite for certain foods now I know how many calories they contain. Have a good evening and stay strong.

buzzofthebumblebee · 20/04/2023 17:12

B - yoghurt & blueberries
L - scrambled egg & 1 toast, plus roast squash & beetroot for my veggies
D - thai curry
S - 4 sourdough crackers with spoon peanut butter

The scales put me down to 10 12 today, so my 2lbs gone already. Hurray !! Back to 10 12. It feels good.

No sign of any thigh gaps for me yet though @Autistic (well done on yours). Welcome again all new people, and wave to @Allthegoodnamestakken . Your food sounds great today @Ninjachicken - daily fluctuations are inevitable ... but as a daily weigher I know to not get too despondent. You never can predict when they'll show a loss - usually when you least expect one (as my WI this morning showed!)

10 days left this month. 1lb loss in 10 days is very achievable, with will power, and portion control. It will be worth it come the summer (July only 9 weeks away). NO SNACKING! DRINK WATER!

Puffalicious · 20/04/2023 19:09

Happy birthday Weatherwax13!

A not bad day, but was SO hungry by dinner time (no lunch) that I had home-made minestrone (last night's leftovers) and a small baked potato with butter 🫣, followed by some Easter choc.

Sitting at 1400 cals, way over daily allowance, but shouldn't beat myself up, I didn't gorge/ eat for no reason I was just hungry! Fingers crossed it doesn't affect me too much.

Remindmeofababe · 20/04/2023 20:02

Hello all. Love the thigh gap @AutisticLegoLover

Great to hear of positive outcome re diagnoses @Allthegoodnamestakken
What a day for a birthday @Weatherwax13 , absolute beaut of a day!
I went for a run with a friend. A 5km therapy session!
Had a bit of a binge earlier and ate the rest of a packet of shrimps and bananas and felt so sick afterwards!

Worked from hometoday and managed a good fasting period and got some steps in. Not quite at 10 000 yet so must keep moving and DRINK more water. It does make such a difference.
Weighed yesterday
SW 10 st 4
CW 10 st
TW 9 st 7

Lost my Easter weight - huzzah. Now to break the 10stone barrier...

Weatherwax13 · 20/04/2023 21:21

I have a thigh gap now too! @AutisticLegoLover
Won't post a pic as still in pjs! (still in the wee hours here)
It's really motivating as i do feel si nucg better in my jeans. Although i have quite a flat bottom now but you can't have everything.
Thanks heaps for all the birthday wishes🩷

AutisticLegoLover · 20/04/2023 21:26

@Allthegoodnamestakken welcome back and what great news! I remember your posts about the tests and I'm so glad it's good news. You'll soon be back in the swing of things here.

13 miles walked here today and feeling knackered and hungry tonight. 1519 calories in, decent water intake. Tomorrow I'm not out and about so much and will be a relative rest day.

Lots of positivity from everyone 😃

ImALittlePea · 20/04/2023 22:41

Oh ladies! Some uplifting posts over the last 24hrs!

Can't tag everyone, but quickly...

@Allthegoodnamestakken SO good to see you back, and with happy news!! ❤️

Happy birthday @Weatherwax13 🥳

Woohoo the thigh gap @AutisticLegoLover 😁

Love your menu today @buzzofthebumblebee 🤤

Hope things are continuing to improve @Ninjachicken 🥰

And high fives, waving and all the love being sent to @TheRealHousewife and everyone else 🤩 you're all so inspiring.

As for me. Well. Did my class last night, don't know whether I pushed myself harder or what it was but have felt it so differently today! The aches, omg!! We did indeed have chippy tea after though... No regrets 😆 another day of over 10k steps 🫶

Today has been busy - volunteering and play group this morning, little house emergency had me running round town after school and ended up having to get the kids dinner out soooooo meals have been:

Lunch - cup-a-soup special
Dinner - wetherspoons burrito bowl with chicken and a small bowl of chips

It's weird, I do NOT like spoons food, particularly their chips. But I couldn't not order them?! I nearly went gourmet burger and chips, but then went for the salad bowl instead, so justified it to myself... I didn't finish it though, so calories would have been lower than stated.

It is what it is, I've been chugging all the 🍾 (water) this week. Midweek wines may have featured this week, but I have some weeks like this.. let's see what WOF does tomorrow 😬🤞 DH is currently in the air jetting off for a ladsladslads weekend, so all bets are off this weekend 😂 any damage will be undone though in preparation for the upcoming milestone birthday next month.

Let's do this lovely losers!

ImALittlePea · 21/04/2023 07:21

Dammit. Just over 1/2lb on this morning! Really frustrated with myself. Trying to maintain that feeling of frustration, hoping I can harness that emotion and use it to refocus so I don't keep creeping up and up. Now 3lb to go to where I want to be - AGAIN 😭

TheRealHousewife · 21/04/2023 07:24
Happy Good Morning GIF

Good Morning

Thank you and you’re welcome @ImALittlePea ❤️Well done on swerving burger & chips👍

@Remindmeofababe Great to read you’ve shed the Easter gain 👍 That was swift., well done.

@Puffalicious Baked potato and butter sounds delish! I love a bit of butter, although I have cut right down I still have it occasionally.

@buzzofthebumblebee 9 weeks 😮 until July 😮 To think the current temps are so unseasonably low it’s hard to imagine the warmer weather ever arriving.

@Nounoufgs Thank you for your reply.

@Ninjachicken Coconut and red lentil soup sounds right up my street 😋

Menu
Meal 1 - Home made soup. Egg, salmon & cottage cheese salad.
Meal 2 - Salmon and spicy Cauli rice. Strawberries with strawberry activia.
Tea, black coffee, water.

Exercise
Session 1 - Full body stretch workout.
Session 2 - Floor exercise & hand weights.

Cross posted. Try to not worry too much @ImALittlePea . I know how incredibly frustrating it is to be so close to goal only for the scales to rebel. Are you lighter than this time last week/month? That’s what matters, the long haul 👍.

OP posts:
Was126orbustandmaybebust · 21/04/2023 08:04

@ImALittlePea 0.5lb is nothing and 3lbs to goal is great.
I do understand though as I am also 3lbs to goal and had hoped to have lost a little more this morning ahead of the weekend but am the same at 129lbs.
Mine may or may not be an interim goal depending on how long it takes me to get there - I am now in the super hard territory where based on previous experience - the weight comes off at around 0.5lb every 2-3 weeks.

ImALittlePea · 21/04/2023 09:18

I know it's not a huge gain @TheRealHousewife @Was126orbustandmaybebust but it's frustrating that after doing so much to get close to where I want to be, I've put nearly 3lb back on overall. Whyyyyyyy is it so hard to lose but so bloody easy to gain?! I do know why I've gained - birthday celebrations, Easter, school holidays, and I've just not been motivated this week. And I know what I need to do to get it back off. But I also know I'll probably struggle to be good this weekend as I don't have DH to share the load, so I'll be less likely to make good choices. I'm going to try though.

Big party coming up in four weeks. If I could lose 3-4lb in that time I'll be SO happy. It feels like a stretch now though, which in turn demotivates me even more. Need to turn this attitude around!

AutisticLegoLover · 21/04/2023 09:36

Slow would surely equal fat loss instead of water weight #be the tortoise.

buzzofthebumblebee · 21/04/2023 09:50

Very frustrating @ImALittlePea - extra water today to flush it through. 3-4lbs is very doable in 4 weeks !! Just think how extra fabulous you'd feel if you got there for the big party? I forget all your stats, but you CAN do it, you HAVE already lost so much, you are utterly fabulous, it only means smaller portions / saying no to the naughty extras for next 4 weeks (which is nothing), and you will be rocking the party frock. Sending you positive vibes.

Allthegoodnamestakken · 21/04/2023 10:49

Morning All,
Trying to get back into the habit of planning meals, didn't start well as I had a kitkat for breakfast.
Rest of the days plan is
Lunch - leftover roast veggies into some sort of salad
Dinner - Homemade pizza, I will make myself a small one and have a spinach salad on the side.
Exercise, Walking of the dogs done this morning and will hopefully attend crossfit this afternoon. Back down to small weights as still recovering from a minor surgery but hey movement is movement and i'll be back to those heavier weights in no time.

Nounoufgs · 21/04/2023 11:06

Good morning! Well done all thigh gappers! I have a flatter stomach so that’s something. Had a protein bagel and feeling full today so far. My stomach is giving me all sorts of pain at the moment but I am powering through. I have fruit for snacks and healthy beef stew.

Have a good day everyone.

AutisticLegoLover · 21/04/2023 11:37

@Weatherwax13 a thigh gap is a good boost isn't it 😃
