⭐️Open to previous members as well as new members⭐️

Summer countdown starts here! The holidays are right around the corner so it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back on track.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes!

I'm in! Thanks for the new thread @TheRealHousewife.

Here's to a great month for us all. Easter might be my downfall. The dc break up tomorrow for 2 weeks so not as much walking going on and after giving up chocolate for lent then I'll be indulging once it's Easter Sunday. Not loads but still.

Bumblebeehum · 30/03/2023 19:25

Here!!

Uh-oh it’s the month of chocolate eggs, let’s resist together!!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 30/03/2023 19:25

Thanks for the new thread @TheRealHousewife - I was MIA for most of March due to injuries, celebrations and trips, so hoping to be more focused. I have at least finished the month around the same weight I started it so not all doom and gloom.

Looking forward to keeping up with everyone's progress!

I’m in 👋

Finally decided to get a grip on the Covid-kilos and get myself back into a healthy eating and exercising routine. I have an enormously sweet tooth and tend to eat when bored but I cook healthy meals so thanks to that and being a regular gym-goer & runner in the past I have always managed to stay healthy. I have totally lost my ways over these last three years though and somehow managed to get from 67 to 80 kilos 😳

Started doing HIIT exercises at home last week and once weight is down a bit I’ll start running again (knee can’t handle running when I’m heavier). Exercising automatically helps me feel motivated to snack less so I’ve managed to stick to healthy eating, loosely following the Bodycoach program with 2 low carb meals and 1 carb meal on training days and 3 carb meals on rest days. I’m thinking start with just getting the habits right but will likely move to calorie counting once I’m in a routine.

Aim is to get back to 67 kilos and be able to maintain a healthy and active lifestyle so
i can keep up with my 7 and 4 year olds 😃

greenspaces4peace · 30/03/2023 21:06

never far and always trying something ;)

Coffeesnob11 · 30/03/2023 21:10

I am in I have reached my ultimate fatness for me and I don't want to carry on like this. I am worried about my health and I can't fit in my clothes and I need to get a hold on my binging. To start with the aim will be not to binge and then starting to cut and up the exercise.

Carolinedogwalker · 30/03/2023 21:15

Evening everyone 🥰
im two weeks in and lost half a stone so far. We’ve booked a holiday for second week of July so that’s my goal. Xx

Puffalicious · 30/03/2023 21:24

God it makes me so down when others are 2 weeks in and half a stone down 😪. I'm 3 weeks in and 2lb down. I can't help but feel crappy about that. I hate peri menopause.

Ignore me. Still in a funk.

Carolinedogwalker · 30/03/2023 21:58

Ow I’m sorry, but I was eating really badly so it was bound to come off once I stopped eating my body weight in chocolate everyday. X

Was126orbustandmaybebust · 30/03/2023 22:22

Hello all
Sorry to be away from the threads so long - on a positive note I have kept going with the careful eating and exercise and weighed in at 131.8lbs this morning. I think the fact that it is Lent and I gave up alcohol has helped.
5.6lbs until I next move the goal posts.

Bikechic · 30/03/2023 22:43

I'm in again. I use my fitness pal app with a relatively generous daily calorie allowance as I'm more likely to stick to it.

Puffalicious · 30/03/2023 22:48

Don't worry, it's me being in a funk. I don't even bloody drink to drown my sorrows 🙄Peppermint and liquorice tea anyone? 🤣

Weatherwax13 · 31/03/2023 05:10

Into 28" jeans today, although I need another 1kg off for them to be comfortable. I was squeezing into 34" when I started 3 months ago. It's a great feeling.
Well done everyone. The encouragement on here is incredible .
And thankyou so very much @TheRealHousewife

LaWench · 31/03/2023 05:38

I'm in 👋. I can't get any bigger, I'm creeping into size 20 clothes. My health will decline if I don't get down to a healthy weight.
I'm on the Full Diet which is IF on a clean whole foods low carb programme based on level blood sugar. I started this week and I'm doing OK so far, this weekend will be the trouble when I hoover up unhealthy foods and wine. I'm aiming to lose as much as I can, with an initial goal of 2.5st off in 3 months. That will take me to my lowest weight in over 6 yrs.

Start date: 25th Mar. SW: 15st
1st Goal date: 25th June. GW: 12.7st
CW: 14.11.

A 3lbs loss so far this week, I know it's mainly water but it's gives a good boost.

Remindmeofababe · 31/03/2023 07:10

Thank you @TheRealHousewife for the start of a new thread. I only found you lot a week or so ago and v pleased to have done so.
SW 10st 4
CW 10 st 2
TW 9st 7

My mini goal is to get up with my alarm, go straight downstairs and have a big glass of water and my iron pill (anaemic again). Trialling a habit tracker app to give me a little boost of praise when I achieve!! I am clearly a praise junkie!
@Puffalicious😔sorry about your funk, I have no wise words just sending solidarity vibes

pippitypoppitypoo · 31/03/2023 07:42

Thanks @AutisticLegoLover for the welcome and @TheRealHousewife for the thread. Starting weight is 67.2kg as of this morning, hoping to get down to 62kg. Inspired by the suggestion to use KG and see the smaller changes more!

ginsparkles · 31/03/2023 08:01

Hello all, I'll be back in after my hols! Surprisingly I managed a 1lb loss this week. No idea how but I'll happily take it.

Lovely chat with the GP, confirmed I am peri and is prescribing HRT, so that will start once I get home from Italy.

I will read and catch up on all your news. Love to everyone Smile

petuniasandpetals · 31/03/2023 09:14

I am inspired reading your thread and exercise is good. I eat healthily but too large portions and rely on about three treats a day.
I am just seeing 11stone but am diabetic. I don't like to admit that! I also have lots of tummy fat and fatty liver.
When the doc first spoke to me I was pushing 12 stone. - got a fright and lost about a stone but since Christmas seem to have got stuck. Ie. Lost my mojo.
I've 8 weeks to holiday but it's not a beach one...still photos taken though..just can't seem to think long or medium term as I've had other medical problems and just lost a close and very healthy friend at 58...
I need some kind of guardian angel of willpower ... just can't face the day without some treats..,trying to cut them down though.

Cloudberries123 · 31/03/2023 10:23

Hello everybody, checking in with all my baggage 😂🧳💼

Lovely to see newbies - @DancingDoll you sound a bit like me with a good history of health and fitness but just piled it on a bit in the past few years

@Coffeesnob11 welcome from a fellow binger, it's rough but the first biggest step is admitting you need to change things. So WELL DONE!

@petuniasandpetals welcome! That all sounds familiar too. You're in good company and all little changes make a difference. Well done for deciding to take charge of your health. I have overweight and sick family members who are a future warning for me if I don't get myself sorted.

Weighing in tomorrow for the start of the month! 🏋🏻‍♀️

Bikechic · 31/03/2023 10:37

@petuniasandpetals that sounds like me. Healthy habits suplimented with too many extras.

Coffeesnob11 · 31/03/2023 12:34

Survived my first day sticking to the calories but didn't quite meet the protein goals but its action not perfection. I weigh everyday to check fluctuations. I was 2lb down this morning which is technically impossible but it made me temporarily happy. Had a good morning but uts the evening where things tend to go tits up so I have things to keep my hands busy ready for later.

Was126orbustandmaybebust · 31/03/2023 12:37

Good morning all - 131.2lbs this morning so 5.2lbs to go and then we will see.
It is extra hard for us all I think when the weather is miserable. Ended up putting on Dirty Dancing two nights ago when DH was out for the evening and walking around the bedroom and singing and dancing to get my steps in for the duration. Thunder, lighting and rain outside and I couldnt end the day on 2572 steps!

Cloudberries123 · 31/03/2023 13:45

That sounds so much fun 126orbust!

Well done Coffeesnob I love that phrase, action not perfection!

Was126orbustandmaybebust · 31/03/2023 14:55

Do you know @Cloudberries123 it really was!
From 2572 steps to 11248 steps in one cheesy movie - watched off and one by a very bemused cat 😻

Fara22 · 01/04/2023 07:54

Checking in for a healthier April!

Easter holidays have started today, with a very snotty child 🤦🏼‍♀️ Will be out of routine for the next two weeks, but have lots of lovely plans to look forward to.
