I've set up a new thread because I'd just lost track of the last one and well .. we all love a fresh start dont we?

For accountability purposes, I've put back on all the weight I lost last year. Every single lb

Currently a chubby size 14 and well, I'm not happy about it

I don't know why I lost focus but I do know I really really want to get back on the horse and I'd love to see my old pals on here

Anyone welcome of course / let's do this!

Morning all. Climbing back on the wagon!

Breakfast has been 45g of a high protein peanut granola which is probably not so Louise friendly but is low in sugar. With kefir yogurt, a few walnuts, sliced strawberries and pear and a tablespoon of mixed seeds

Not sure on lunch yet - still debating.

Checking in

Good to see you back @BatFaceOwl

I've been less strict this week, a few more carbs creeping in and sadly scales up 1lb this morning. Will do my best not to feel too down about it and remember that I'm eating better than ever in terms of nourishing my body.

Plan for the day
Cherry & lemon bircher
Bistro salad
Portobello mushrooms stuffed with goats cheese

Dog walk & strength workout

BatFaceOwl · 24/03/2023 15:20

Sounds like a good plan @Porkyparker - I do love a good bircher!

Been swimming again today and on track so far. Am out for dinner tonight so I'll try my hardest to not go overboard!

Kefir yogurt, porridge, strawberries, raspberries, mixed seeds, almond butter

Swedish fibre rolls with hummus, cottage cheese, salad and mixed nuts

Pear and 2 babybels

Fatty checking in! Ate too much on Friday night but pulled it back a bit yesterday and really buckled down today

Food times for today ..

Greek yogurt, mixed seeds, pineapple, pear,
Almond butter

Apple slices + peanut butter

Warm salad of lentils, hummus,
tomatoes, peppers, goats cheese,
Avocado, kale with a homemade olive oil, Apple cider vinegar and garlic lemon dressing

So I've tried to up my nutrients a bit

OP posts:
Megasaur5keeper · 26/03/2023 19:51

@BatFaceOwl that sounds very nutritious. I am not balancing well at all . Got a good lot of walking done at 4 year old pace (lots of stopping to look at sticks) but no actual exercise for a week. food random and not especially method but that's me back on it.

I've been reminded that if I leave food planning to my husband we eat at odd times and utter rubbish. I hate this so much, it makes me really angry that I'm left to it all the time. Not so much the cooking but all the planning.

Today breakfast was 2 slices GOOD wholemeal toast and scrambled eggs,
No snack,
Tomato, black bean and sweet corn soup with 1/4 avocado, small bit of cheese and a pitta,
Cheese and an apple,
And paneer and broccoli/cauli curry with a wholemeal tortilla. and a chocolate biscuit in Costa.
Lovely walk, body pump and a dancebased cardio class.
Seems a lot of carbs.

@Porkyparker a pound is nothing really, if overall you are losing and are feeling happy about nutrition etc .
I'm away to try to get 4yo to bed at what feels an hour earlier than her normal bedtime. I dread this time of year...
Laters...

Porkyparker · 27/03/2023 07:21

Not a good weekend....dinner out with prosecco, wine and dessert! Ah well I enjoyed it

On the positive side I did lots of exercise, weights, Pilates and lots of steps.

Back on the wagon today, plan is:

Apple & cinnamon Bircher

Chopped chicken & veg salad with spicy peanut dressing

Chicken casserole with cauli rice & peas

Long walk, not sure I can do much else, legs are in bits from yesterdays weights session

BatFaceOwl · 27/03/2023 13:46

@Porkyparker ooh that sounds delicious re the naughty meal. Sometimes has to be done

BatFaceOwl · 31/03/2023 16:20

Slides back in!

I've been surprisingly on track. God knows how. In total I've now lost 7lbs which isn't massively impressive as I fell off the wagon last week and put some of my previous loss back on.

I've put a principle of Louise's into practice this time around - which is smaller portions. Or 'eating delicately' as she puts it.

I usually try and eat as much as possible but this time I'm trying to go smaller. Not by loads but a bit.

Still got about 20lbs to lose though. Ughhhh

OP posts:
BatFaceOwl · 31/03/2023 16:20

How is everyone? Still here?

OP posts:
Megasaur5keeper · 01/04/2023 08:26

I'm still here, @BatFaceOwl
Well done on weight loss, that's great. I'm making shakshuka for breakfast which I think is good and on method.
Not sure about the rest of day yet.
I need new clothes and feel like everything is depressing and tent like. Sigh.

ElvenDreamer · 01/04/2023 08:55

I am still here, sort of. I have however taken the circle, ripped into tiny pieces and scattered them far and wide into places they cannot be found. Currently wallowing in a sea of stinking thinking and trying desparately to work out how to swim ashore.

Right, that's enough melodrama, you get the picture. Time to keep on keeping on. Yes, still here! Well done @BatFaceOwl and @Megasaur5keeper

BatFaceOwl · 01/04/2023 13:21

I hear you @ElvenDreamer - sometimes, no matter how hard you try, the head space just isn't right. I have false start after false start and I'm still not sure that this is the attempt that's going to stick again

OP posts:

Rshard · 03/04/2023 19:24

Just came across your thread and found it really interesting as a very lapsed low carber, I’ve been looking for something different to try. Which of Louise’s books would you recommend for a new starter?

Thanks

Megasaur5keeper · 04/04/2023 09:18

@ClaudiaCustard a move away from owls. Bold.
Food sounds good and well done on the lbs.
I came to the conclusion that the best thing for clothes was not to try to change my whole aesthetic - I am never going to be a baggy /wide legged jeans person, I do not suit flounces and frills, so I got myself a couple of new pairs of skinny jeans, vest type tops and a leopard print sweat shirt. I may return to my 90s mosher routes and get cherry red DMS at some point.

@Rshard 6 week plan probably. It's got decent recipes, and guides you through a 6 week fat loss regime with workouts and lifestyle tips. Lean for life is the foundation book really, but if you want a structure I think 6wp is a bit better.

Back to work yesterday, got a Les mills boot Camp workout in- did not love- and the structure of a working day prevented me from grazing.
Food was.

B- porridge with blueberries, kiwi and fig
S- smoothie with mixed berries and nectarine,
L- chorizo and manchego frittata and slaw,
T- warm salmon salad
Ate some nuts while waiting for dinner.

It is gorgeous here today - went to an early in person body pump class and saw a buzzard hopping along the grass verge. Liked that.

ElvenDreamer · 04/04/2023 14:03

Hi all. @ClaudiaCustard I'm so confused you're no longer an Owl, good name though!

Still dipping in and out here, yoghurt and no sugar granola topping for breakfast, LP chop chop salad for lunch and dinner will be the Catania Cod Traybake from the cook book. Have just prepped some lovely looking bircher ready for tomorrow and am busy heating milk to make my next batch of yogurt.

Can't remember who but someone asked about how I make it, I'm not terribly scientific about it, I heat some milk to just below boiling point (around when a few small bubbles are starting to rise to the surface), then let it cool to blood temp. Then I mix in a couble of tablespoons of yogurt left from last batch and put it in a warm place over night. (Back of aga in winter, airing cupboard in summer, have also been known to make in morning and put in green house for the day.) I usually then strain it a bit through some muslin, allow to cool and stick in fridge. Disclaimer, I have never tried this with shop bought pasteurized milk, I have fresh unpasteurized so I don't know how/if it would work.

Hello all, I hope its okay to pop in on your thread. I have read through this one and the other two and I love your consistency.

I am a mum of two and use the LMP to lose weight pre-baby and after my first. My second son was a pandemic baby, and then we had major life changes, and its all creeped up on me and become so, so, so much.

I'd love to get your insights on something. I know I need to get back into the LPM and really give it a go, but I find it so hard to cook for everyone AND stay on method. It's not even my kids - they are AMAZING experimental eaters! It's my otherwise wonderful partner. He's not keen on salads, beans, broth, homemade curries. He likes a good pie in shortcrust pastry with mash, preferably made with extra double cream and butter. Do I just make myself something different? Do you have any recipes that everyone loves? I feel like for this to really work, we just can't be eating two different meals every day.

Anyways, so impressed by you all - such fabulous dedication! Hope I'm posting my great meals and successes soon.
