I've set up a new thread because I'd just lost track of the last one and well .. we all love a fresh start dont we?

For accountability purposes, I've put back on all the weight I lost last year. Every single lb

Currently a chubby size 14 and well, I'm not happy about it

I don't know why I lost focus but I do know I really really want to get back on the horse and I'd love to see my old pals on here

Anyone welcome of course / let's do this!

Ok food times for the day, now I'm done. It helps me to see it in black and white

Greek yogurt
Raspberries
Seeds

Almond butter + fruit salad
Banana

2 slices seeded sourdough with mushrooms fried in a little oil, light cream cheese, paprika and garlic

Kale salad with home made dressing and chilli halloumi

I don't think that's too bad really.

I think all round what I've learned about last few weeks is Louise is right, there is no good time, you just have to start. Ive been telling myself show week is a bad time to restart, then I was stressed with school stuff, then I was ill, but mainly, I've been kidding myself. I just need to do it.

BatFaceOwl · 27/02/2023 21:25

You're right @ElvenDreamer there is no ideal time to start although for some reason a Monday always seems the best

I’m so glad I found this thread. I have been reading through the previous ones and became really interested in the LP way of eating/diet. I need a new approach having tried various diets previously. This time I want something sustainable and LP method seems to have the types of food I like in it. I thought the thread had ended so joined another as a substitute but it did it focus on LP so very glad you started the thread again. I have 2 stone to lose. I am the queen of excuses! But after a recent health scare doing this for different reasons this time. The LP method makes so much sense. I detest low fat yoghurt though. Is full fat permitted? Or has anyone used it and still lost weight?

ElvenDreamer · 28/02/2023 07:23

Hi @sheepdreams , welcome to the good vanilla paste gang! Yes I use full fat yoghurt, I make my own in fact with unpasteurized milk straight from the farm so it's often half cream 😂 . And yes, 1st round of LP method I lost just under a stone. I think the trick is portion sizes as much as anything.

BatFaceOwl · 28/02/2023 08:48

@sheepdreams welcome. And yes, full fat is to be encouraged with everything. Apart from cake, sadly. I eat either Total or M&S 10% fat Greek yogurt and both are decent.

Breakfast today is ...

Greek yogurt, funnily enough
Loads of raspberries
Tablespoon of linseeds + chia seeds
Glass of kombucha

Ciao ciao.
I'm half arsing food plan at the moment. Had an annoying Friday leading to wine and a lot of little Italian savoury biscuit snacks which I felt compelled to tidy up at the weekend.
Sunday night my glass of (red) wine was spilled as a result of small child action on my (cream ) carpet,so at least that saved some calories. Ha.

In more positive news I think I am more or less there. I was loosely aiming for 9st- I'm about 6lbs over that but I'm actually content with how I look, so I'm heading to balance now.
If it's not too annoying can I stay please?

@BatFaceOwl new beginnings. You know it works, You Can do it!!! Hi @ElvenDreamer
Hope you are both feeling ok.

RobertaGlass · 28/02/2023 11:01

Hello there, is it ok to join? Hallo to see the new thread. I’ve changed name (compelled) and bringing new renewed energy.

BatFaceOwl · 28/02/2023 12:06

@RobertaGlass just throw yourself in. Were you on any of the last threads? We've made quite a good start with this one. Grin

Morning all

Started the day with a small glass of kefir and a bowl of chopped plum, pear, Greek yogurt, teaspoon of peanut butter and a tablespoon of linseeds and flaxseeds

How are we getting on?

TheMildManneredMilitant · 01/03/2023 13:21

Apple and cinnamon Bircher and a coffee so far, plus a small bowl of beef stew with some broccoli and peas. Probably too many potatoes and carrots in the stew but not going to beat myself up over something that's pretty healthy.

20 mins run and now wheezing and sweating.

@BatFaceOwl

TheMildManneredMilitant · 01/03/2023 13:21

Sorry @BatFaceOwl for random tag! Was going to add that I like the sound of your breakfast and might copy for tomorrow.

ElvenDreamer · 01/03/2023 13:27

Hi, all, yesterday not too bad: porridge, halloumi and bulgar wheat salad, thai coconut chicken (no rice for me) , some chees and crackers. Rather large gin and tonic whilst stalking the secondary school allocations until well past midnight!

Today, tired funnily enough, but: eggs and avocado on toast, halloumi salad again (made 3 boxes yesterday!), will be salmon and steamed veg tonight. No snacks as such yet but a tendency to graze ingredients while I cook. Pilates class this morning.

BatFaceOwl · 01/03/2023 14:51

@TheMildManneredMilitant and I may consider an apple and cinnamon bircher tomorrow!! I also have blood oranges and there's a nice bircher recipe on Louise's Instagram for bircher including those that I've made a few times now

OP posts:
BatFaceOwl · 01/03/2023 14:53

Sounds good @ElvenDreamer - I do love halloumi .

Good work re the Pilates. I managed a weight session today. I mean, I call it that, but it's the more pathetic beginners workout known to man but ... it's something. And I did it. 3 rounds of 5 exercises, 25 reps each time. I'd like to say I'm lifting 10kg weights but I actually struggle with 3kg 😀

Food times for today

Greek yogurt, pear, plums, seeds and peanut butter

Pitta with hummus, plant kitchen bacon, salad

Slide of sourdough with cashew nut butter and mango slices

Mushroom stew with one dumpling

@BatFaceOwl weight training is the best. I do body pump which is weight training I suppose and it is such a good feeling when you can increase the weights! Feels like you've achieved.

Food all sounds good.
I was very inactive yesterday, had a "skinny Benedict " for breakfast, some croissant crumbs generously donated by my daughter as a snack , barley bean soup for lunch, no recollection of an afternoon snack but I must have, and warm winter roast salad for dinner.

Today I had a ham and cheese croissant for breakfast which was double plus good, apple, 2 oatcakes and an aubergine dip as a snack and bean soup again. Dinner to be chicken risotto and snack was blueberries, rasps and almonds.

Did a barre class online and have hit my steps.

But I think I am getting ill. When will winter end

OriGanOver · 01/03/2023 18:37

I was on the previous thread.

I got to 11 stone and in a healthy bmi for the first time in forever doing LP with a bit of Tim Spector fermented foods and 30 plants a week.

I've fallen off but I haven't put more than a pound or two back on. I'll weigh tomorrow.

I've still got a load of kefir in date in the fridge that I was making overnight oats with. I'll try to make it for tomorrow.

sheepdreams · 02/03/2023 07:15

Hi all

sounds like some lovely food is being eaten.

yesterday:
poached egg on sourdough
small chunk of brie cheese with 10 grapes
chilli made with lean mince no rice
erm.. 1 chocolate digestive.

not quite fully fledged on the diet yet but easing myself in.

Managed 14000 steps

Hobbes8 · 02/03/2023 08:57

I’ve not been off to a flying start as I haven’t done any shopping or prepping yet. I was in the office yesterday and busy and home late, but managed a healthy M&S chicken and rice noodles thing for lunch. I’ll draw a discrete veil over dinner and start again today!

BatFaceOwl · 02/03/2023 09:34

@OriGanOver hi again. I'm doing the Zoe project at the moment - just waiting for my results now. I can - and do- have a lot of kefir and kombucha but I have to draw a line at anything fermented like kimchi. The thought of it makes me feel funny but then, I'm a very fussy eater

OP posts:
BatFaceOwl · 02/03/2023 09:35

@sheepdreams sounds like you're easing yourself in well. I LOVE brie and grapes!

OP posts:
BatFaceOwl · 02/03/2023 09:37

@Megasaur5keeper you would literally piss yourself at me and my weights! Body pump it is not! But I was thinking that 15 mins a day would do ... something? I've found someone on Instagram who explains it clearly and who I can follow and she's very positive etc so that'll do for now.

Actually I dimly recall going to a body pump class once. I'm pretty sure I couldn't actually lift just the bar Grin

OP posts:
BatFaceOwl · 02/03/2023 09:37

@Hobbes8 draw that discrete veil and we shall say no more about it
