I've set up a new thread because I'd just lost track of the last one and well .. we all love a fresh start dont we?

For accountability purposes, I've put back on all the weight I lost last year. Every single lb

Currently a chubby size 14 and well, I'm not happy about it

I don't know why I lost focus but I do know I really really want to get back on the horse and I'd love to see my old pals on here

Anyone welcome of course / let's do this!

Ooh I’m in! Was going pretty well last spring/summer and not sure where it all went wrong.

strawberry2017 · 27/02/2023 17:18

How does this work? X

Dudum · 27/02/2023 17:23

Yes. What is the plan? I'm not familiar

BatFaceOwl · 27/02/2023 17:31

How does it work? Well, it's very simple but can seem a bit daunting at first

You need the books - or one of them at least. Picked up cheaply on eBay or vinted and of course, new on Amazon L. This will mean you can familiarise yourself with the method

I lost over 2 stone last year in about 5 months (I'll try and link all our threads later) and it was so easy once I was into it

Put simply ..

Eat three meals a day
Eat 2 snacks a day
No sugar
No alcohol
Go to bed at a reasonable time
Exercise
No calorie counting

BatFaceOwl · 27/02/2023 17:33

@Hobbes8 ooh I remember you! We were doing SO well and then .. what happened?

OP posts:
Dudum · 27/02/2023 17:40

No sugar, no alcohol and exercise?

Of course if you're a chubby size 14 you'll lose weight. And "what happened" was that it's clearly unsustainable. Nope. Not for me!

Thanks for explaining though and good luck.

BatFaceOwl · 27/02/2023 17:41

@Dudum yeah it's not for you if you don't have the faintest clue what it's about but thanks for dropping by anyway Confused

Dudum · 27/02/2023 17:47

No need to be rude. I assumed it was something a bit different.

ElvenDreamer · 27/02/2023 18:10

Hi, I'm back and I'm in, had a rubbish couple of weeks, coming off the back of a cold and lots of stress so there may well be a settling in couple of days, but I have to try again!

BatFaceOwl · 27/02/2023 18:14

Yay @ElvenDreamer was trying to tag you and couldn't

Ugh we did so well! Life just got in the way. How have you been in general?

OP posts:
SuperSange · 27/02/2023 18:33

I have lean for life and the six week program for sale if anyone can use them.

Hobbes8 · 27/02/2023 18:42

@BatFaceOwl we were both doing so well! I think the usual stuff for me…attempted a quick fix before holiday, then the holiday itself, then some kind of 3 month shame spiral then Christmas….you know the drill. What about you?

Ive had some success since Christmas with 5:2 but I hate fast days so much I’m struggling to plan them into my week.

So here I come….waddling back into the circle clutching my gooooooood vanilla paste.

TheMildManneredMilitant · 27/02/2023 18:48

I'm in. Glad there's a new thread I thought I'd killed the last one 🤣

I was only going to do this for health benefits. Then I got on the scales and thought 'fuck that'. I'm not technically overweight but it's creeping up. I'd like to loose a stone but my main goal is just to completely the 6 week plan.

BatFaceOwl · 27/02/2023 19:04

@Hobbes8 ha the good vanilla paste! Maybe that was the key to my success last time?

I think for me it really has been life getting in the way. Perimenopause has hit me hard - thought I'd got away with it as I'm now bloody ancient (51) but a few months back, I just started struggling. Sleep issues - no flushes or anything - but the sleep problems have been enough to have me wiped out in the day so I started reaching for all the shit food

But that's just an excuse really.

OP posts:
BatFaceOwl · 27/02/2023 19:04

@TheMildManneredMilitant best to do it now whilst you're at a nice comfortable weight. The first 6 weeks flew by last time! You'll have that stone off before you know it

OP posts:
BatFaceOwl · 27/02/2023 19:06

This was dinner

Kale in a homemade dressing with pomegranate seeds, tomatoes, edamame beans, quinoa and chilli halloumi

It was delicious but it was also no cheesy pasta with fries

ElvenDreamer · 27/02/2023 19:29

I'm ok thanks @BatFaceOwl , been busy, currently nail biting over secondary offers day, generally not taking care of myself!

6 week plan, let's do it. Need to add vanilla paste to the shopping list but otherwise, here I am, brandishing my stevia like a weapon.

ElvenDreamer · 27/02/2023 19:33

@TheMildManneredMilitant I'd been gearing myself up for days to write on the last thread again but couldn't summon the energy, was sure what to say, "hi all, bakewell tart for breakfast today" as it would have been a couple of days ago didn't seem helpful 😂

BatFaceOwl · 27/02/2023 19:44

Ha yes - I didn't want to post because there really is nothing helpful to anyone about showing a cheese toastie (discovered an amazing little cafe in my town that does them. So that started an obsession of having one 'most' days

OP posts:
BatFaceOwl · 27/02/2023 19:45

@ElvenDreamer I remember you have a tough job are things any more settled now?

And I see your stevia and raise you GOOD NAVAL ORANGES

OP posts:
TheMildManneredMilitant · 27/02/2023 20:00

Lol @ElvenDreamer 'yeah I'm sure your overnight oats were good but not like this beauty'.

I think I might be perimenopausal and/or teetering on the edge of depression/anxiety. When I've done low carb in the past it has totally evened out my moods. But I much prefer the range of LPM foods than stricter low carb/high fat.

BatFaceOwl · 27/02/2023 20:11

@TheMildManneredMilitant my results last year amazed me but I now realise it was really prioritising it all. You've got to be committed

And once I was in the groove it was just so easy so I'm really cross I just threw it away

But I did it before and I'll do it again.

Have you considered GP if you're feeling a bit low?

OP posts:
ElvenDreamer · 27/02/2023 20:12

And dont forget a nice full lemon drawer @BatFaceOwl ! Work not too bad thanks, I can't really claim it as a particularly hard job, I bloody love my job, but being self employed there are some rather crazy periods which I then find hard to regulate my eating in. I think I need to plan ahead better really as I do know when I get in late, buzzing from a performance, I will be hungry, I need to have stuff prepped I think so I don't just eat my own body weight in cheese or have half a tonne of baked stuff because it's there and easy. I cam off the back of another show week recently and I was awful foodwise! The only small win was the night we ate as a band between shows at a restaurant I managed to pick an entirely on method dish and also served the breads and things in the table. Was really proud of that, especially when everyone else was groaning how bloated they felt later!
