Athena51 · 16/02/2023 08:44

Starting a new thread as we are dangerously close to finishing thread two. So great to have this supportive community to share our experiences of taking Ozempic for weightloss.

"Old-timers" and new starters all welcome!

Good Afternoon, I've been hovering on your threads since late 2022 - finally took the plunge and ordered from Manual yesterday. How long is delivery usually, and what courier do they use? Thank you!

Hello, mine came via EVRI, and was with me within 48 hours. As the order progressed I received emails and WhatsApp messages, which all invited reply for any questions etc. and I have subsequently received emails with further info, tips and check ins.

Good luck on your journey, I only recently took the plunge myself after careful consideration - and a sleepless night of questioning how I move forwards and improve my physical and mental health. I'm pleased I made this decision and so far it is doing exactly as I hoped and I'm meeting my own targets on exercise and nutrition. I might just need to reach for the wine a little less as I move forwards, one step at a time!

orangelotus · 05/03/2023 16:49

this week was my first 1mg dose which i took on Wednesday.
today i have been so hungry like the older days!
So far I have had numerous cups of tea.
a toasted ham sandwich ( first bread in ages)
1 chocolate covered almond.
two fingers of pitta bread with crab pate.
There is a bowl of crisps which i am succeeding in resisting but i could easily stuff them.
Am about to have a roast dinner will make sure i have vegetables galore.
I really hope that i am not already immune to the appetite suppression effect.
I think maybe i've been eating too little? is that possible? when you talk about high protein foods what do you mean specifically?

iwantthatbaar · 05/03/2023 16:49

First week almost gone, and I've had my first temptation to eat between meals just today. Was wavering over whether I should go tomorrow's jag now, rather than risk being ravenous tomorrow as it gets back into my system?
I'll weigh tomorrow am - I'm annoyed I forgot to take day1 measurements as I'm sure I already feel less bloated!

iwantthatbaar · 05/03/2023 16:51

Also, not looking forward to this week's cold weather as feeling cold always makes me snack, plus fasting (I'm also doing 16/8) makes me FREEZING!

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 05/03/2023 17:32

Thank you @theproblemchild that is all really helpful.

hereforthegin · 05/03/2023 17:34

I placed my first order on Friday and have been bingeing all of these threads... It's been so helpful in knowing what to expect!

Just had the email my order has been approved... Hopefully it will be here tomorrow!

Mumsdaword1 · 05/03/2023 18:38

@Twinkle71 i know the feeling you are describing. It is liberating.

HolibobsinApril · 05/03/2023 18:54

I took my first 0.5 dose today and have been really hungry all day. I have remained good but it has taken lots of willpower.

How long does it take for people to feel the effects?

BTW I have done 5 weeks at 0.25

ILostMyself · 05/03/2023 19:21

Thanks for the tip @Athena51!

I always feel mine the day after @HolibobsinApril. Seems to work amazing for about 4 days then I start to get hungrier towards the end of the week before the next one.

RichTeaCheddars · 05/03/2023 19:52

Hi all! I've read some of the 3 threads but there are so many posts! It's seems a really lovely supportive group.
I've just ordered my first pen from Manual. They asked for my GP details which I gave. But was hoping to keep GP out of it. Nevermind.

I'm rather nervous about everything. The injection itself and then being able to stick to a calorie restricted diet as I haven't been able to before.

Also, what happens when you get to BMI 30 and below and still have plenty of weight to loose? I am BMI 38 atm and have 6.5 stone to loose. It seems insurmountable.

Have you looked up macro calculators at all? These help determine your goals for weight loss.. they are quite personalised on weight and height and help you split your daily calorie allowance across carbs/ fat/ protein to help on weight loss or recomp etc. they are a good guide and you can use free apps like my fitness pal to track for a few weeks to gauge your popular choices without becoming obsessive on tracking if that suits you. If you have looked this side up then I hope it helps direct another to explore if this may be helpful to them as I have seen a few people question pp on protein intake etc

I personally like it in the early weeks as I enter my dietary routines, I'm boring, they don't fluctuate too much, and I can then be more mindful as the weeks progress as I've learnt what my meals 'equal' on not only the calories but macro divide - if that makes sense.

I'm also hoping to help myself as I go forwards by bulk cooking some favourites to freeze portions so there's not an excuse for the easy reaches. I'll report back how this works out as sometimes pre ozempic the crave can outweigh the logic.. and any nibble lurking in the cupboard was up for consideration or on the mind. May this be a thing of the past.

I'm more than pleased to be seeing results so early into treatment along with my lifestyle commitments but still have a long way to go to make myself really proud

Thank you for this thread. I’ve been reading as many messages as possible.. I’m looking to order tomorrow, if anyone has any recommendations of where to order I would be grateful. Thank you so much

Hello! Welcome.

Once you get started I think it will all fall into place. The injection itself is really not bad at all. The needle is tiny. Nowhere near like when I had to inject myself daily after I broke my leg and was immobile.

I also feel that the 70lbs (ideally maybe more like 80) I need to lose is insurmountable. But after 10 days I'm feeling so much more positive. I'm planning out the months ahead. It will take time but it feels much doable now.

I'll be honest when I first started I really didn't think I'd be able to do it. I'm 5 lbs down in 10 days, and feeling like I can go the distance.

We can do it!

Peridot1 · 05/03/2023 22:10

@orangelotus - protein rich foods for me are basically meat, eggs, fish. I’m finding carbs make me hungrier. So your toasted ham sandwich would make me hungry later. I sometimes have slices of ham spread with Philadelphia and rolled up for a quick breakfast and it keeps me full longer than a sandwich.

I often have home made soup for lunches - I add a can of cannelini beans for some extra protein and fibre.

I have done low carb in the past so am used to snacking on protein. If I feel a bit hungry I have a slice of cheese or ham rather than fruit or similar. I’m realising that I am insulin resistant hence my long battle with my weight and my past cravings for bread and other carbs. I know now that once I come off Ozempic I’m going to have to really reduce carbs. Sadly they are not our friends!

I ordered my first pen via Manual and I've found them to be competitive, the link below should allow for a discounted initial order (£129), they quickly approve and dispatch your order and soon start an informative dialogue, as well as check in on symptom management via WhatsApp messages that you can easily ignore should you wish to. Good luck on your journey

This post is a great reminder for me.
I only lost half a pound this week after losing 3lb at the beginning of the week and putting it back on at the weekend.
I'm going back to using MFP to track and reduce carbs and do a bit of meal prep.
I'm also going to spilt my 1mg into two doses as it was a bit intense last week! No nausea but extreme fatigue and I hardly ate anything at the start of the week.
Does anyone else split their dose?

alwayssocomplicated · 06/03/2023 07:00

I had an extra glass of wine last night and feel pretty sick this morning. Extra glass only made 2 in total Envy

I can only drink one glass max!

weightymatters73 · 06/03/2023 07:06

9lb down now, just done my 6th injection this morning....

weightymatters73 · 06/03/2023 07:08

on a separate note, I used the 0.25 for 4 injections. Then did 0.25 twice (so essentially 6 injections out of one pen...and there is still some left.

how many ML is it injecting each time?? I know there is 1.5ml in the pen.

Yes I do. I do it to stop the appetite suppression wearing off near the end of the week, I’m lucky in that my only side effect is constipation! I do 0.5ml on Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings.

As per below, I read it is 2mg in 1.5ml so there might be a little extra above that but may not be a full dose but available to prime the needle each time.

I've further found that each 0.25mg dose is administered as just 0.19ml ...

I've just ordered my first dose with Manual... Seems very straight forward. There's a referral code you can use and we both get 50% off apparently: manual.co/r/U-1qbXdfXfxm

Feel free to use it or not!
