Starting a new thread as we are dangerously close to finishing thread two. So great to have this supportive community to share our experiences of taking Ozempic for weightloss.

"Old-timers" and new starters all welcome!

I have had a splitting headache since going up a dose from .5 to .75/1mg. It’s horrible, a real stabbing sensation. Has anyone else experienced this? Hoping it will wear off soon, paracetamol hasn’t made a dent in it!

Yes me.
It's been pretty horrendous!
As you say paracetamol didn't touch it.
It's strangely subsided a bit now so I'm hoping I can finally get some sleep tonight

HolibobsinApril · 23/02/2023 07:29

Those headaches sound awful @Cappuccinopup and @ladyforallseasons I hope they ease up for you.

I have plateaued in week 3. I'm sure I have seen this on here from some others. Any tips to kick start it? I know it's a longer game. I've not properly counted my calories but have definitely had less than about 1400 a day.

No tips but I think we just to accept that it is normal to plateau at times. I lost quite a few pounds in the first fortnight then got stuck for a week or so and then lost another couple of pounds.

For people who don't have that much weight to lose (but still 2-3 stone) it won't be a noticable loss every week but a series of small reductions over the months.

OneAndDon3 · 23/02/2023 09:55

Tried on my measurement dress this morning. When I started I could really get it over my arms.
Last week I couldn't do the buttons up.
Today I did up all the buttons. Not a flattering fit but on and done up.

orangelotus · 23/02/2023 09:55

that's great we'll done!!

Katrinawaves · 23/02/2023 10:18

That’s such a boost @OneAndDon3. Well done

OneAndDon3 · 23/02/2023 10:29

I've been struggling with not weighing this week, but I know that way madness lies for me. This has really helped me focus on what I've achieved in the last two months and made me more determined to stick with it.

Prettybubblesintheair · 23/02/2023 13:15

See I’m the opposite, I haven’t actually weighed myself yet as I’m scared I won’t have lost much. My clothes feel looser though and dh said he thinks I’ve lost weight. Also a bit unsure how I could have lost if I’m not actually going to the loo!

ILostMyself · 23/02/2023 14:53

Just to update, I took my first 0.25 dose on Tuesday afternoon and I do still feel like I have an appetite but I haven’t felt starving at any point (even today when I would normally each lunch around 12 but didn't get a chance to until half 2).

So it’s definitely taken the edge off and it seems to have taken the edge off sugar cravings too… after dinner is when I want to eat loads of sugary snacks and even though I’ve still thought about it (and could definitely have eaten them!), I have managed to stop myself for the first time in a long time. I’m hoping that maybe this is just what I needed to give myself a bit of time to step back and think about what I eat rather than diving straight into the snacks impulsively. Maybe spending the money on it helps too, as that is making me really want it to work too, so I do feel I have to put the effort in!!

No side effects so far apart from a little tiredness so all good.

RumNotRun · 23/02/2023 15:12

I had my first sulphur burps yesterday. When people mentioned them on here, I had visions of Homer Simpson after eating a pile of Chinese Century Eggs style burps. Instead it was more of a defined Lady Dowager after eating one delicate crustless egg and cress sandwich. Just in case anyone is worrying about getting them.

TheGrandUpwards · 23/02/2023 16:17

ILostMyself I'm the same after two days. I'm surprised at how much effect a low dose for such a short time has had on my appetite. I turned down a slice of cake with zero emotional turmoil or begrudgement.

THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME EVER

Sorry for shouting, but that's huge for me.

OneAndDon3 · 23/02/2023 20:06

@Prettybubblesintheair I think you've misunderstood. Like you I don't weigh at all. I've been really fixated on weighing everyday in the past and I'm really keen not to get back there as I know it's bad for me.

I'm not planning on weighing at all until June or so. I need to get in the mindset that this is a long term commitment and a change in my ways of eating, rather than a diet.

@ILostMyself congratulations! It's such a wonderful feeling isn't it. I keep thinking it's what normal people feel like.

HermioneWeasley · 23/02/2023 20:15

That’s a great milestone @OneAndDon3

Prettybubblesintheair · 23/02/2023 20:47

Ah ok sorry yes I misunderstood!

HermioneWeasley · 24/02/2023 07:12

Another 1lb off this week

Lndnmummy · 24/02/2023 07:40

I am still struggling massively with sickness and nausea. I dont think I will be able to take the next dose until all this has passed.

Twinmama13 · 24/02/2023 07:51

Hi, new to the thread. I have my pens arriving today. I've got 5 stone to lose. I've struggled with binge eating all my life and due to a very loving but over feeding mother I can eat HUGE portions of food and not feel full. I am also a sugar addict - some of you mentioning that went away is so exciting for me. I'm utterly depressed about my size, I am so unfit and my back hurts. I have successfully lost about 3 stone on WW in the past buy it always goes back on. I'm hoping this helps me stay in control. Have found everything people have posted on here so helpful! 😊

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 24/02/2023 09:06

Just an update from me.
I'm now on 1mg and losing again.
Happy days 😊

If you look at my graph. I plateau a lot.
I remember week 3 being like this.
You lose a lot of water to begin with and then you start to lose actual fat.

orangelotus · 24/02/2023 09:08

Thank you!
10 stone would be great but happy with 10.5.

HellToupee · 24/02/2023 09:59

Morning all,

Well week 3 and 4 on 0.25 were a bit hit and miss for me to be honest. The appetite suppression definitely became less, not being helped by having two full weekends with dinner parties. I just have to stop my friends cook the delicious food they cook!! 😂

I weighed in at 108.1kg this morning so I’m two weeks have only lost just over 1kg.

This morning however I took my first 0.5 injection (week 5) and from what I’ve read here that should hopefully give me a little “boost”!

It is truly so lovely to read all your posts and see how the majority of you can all celebrate their weightless achievements and feel better about and happier in themselves 😊 Long may it continue.

Secretboringsister · 24/02/2023 10:03

Hi everyone. Where is the best place people are recommending now for price and availability? Thank you

polopolopolopoo · 24/02/2023 10:21

Fifth weigh in and I've lost 4.5kg overall. I'm amazed and excited since no diet has ever worked for me. I have a big 5kg bag of rice in the larder and it's so heavy, I can't believe I had that much more weight on me a few weeks ago!!!

polopolopolopoo · 24/02/2023 10:24

@Secretboringsister I'm with Juniper and like them as they're v reliable, sent me some good scales with the first package, orders well packaged and great support team. Plus there's a code for £50 off first order. But there are cheaper companies and I plan to switch next month so I can get the 1mg pen as they don't offer it until 2 months in.
