Starting a new thread as we are dangerously close to finishing thread two. So great to have this supportive community to share our experiences of taking Ozempic for weightloss.

"Old-timers" and new starters all welcome!

@Secretboringsister I'm with Juniper and like them as they're v reliable, sent me some good scales with the first package, orders well packaged and great support team. Plus there's a code for £50 off first order. But there are cheaper companies and I plan to switch next month so I can get the 1mg pen as they don't offer it until 2 months in.

Thanks for the information. Who will you switch to? Yay for starting your journey!

polopolopolopoo · 24/02/2023 10:35

@Secretboringsister prob quickmeds

orangelotus · 24/02/2023 11:04

i have changed to quickmeds from
juniper but when i cancelled the subscription there is an option to say the reason for leaving is money. If you click that they offer the next pen with £50 off.
But i still think they may not give you the 1mg pen until month 4?

polopolopolopoo · 24/02/2023 11:08

@orangelotus they offered me at month 3 and that's VERY good to know that I can negotiate 😀😀

I am still struggling massively with sickness and nausea. I dont think I will be able to take the next dose until all this has passed.

I feel your pain.
I vomited 6 days after dose 4 - just before the day I was due to take dose 5.
I haven’t taken dose 5 yet as I can’t face the nausea coming back. I’ve actually really enjoyed not feeling under the weather for a few days now.
Im going to stick to a healthy diet now that better habits have been established and take a break from Ozempic. Its wonderful when it clears your mind of the “food chatter” but terrible when it makes you feel ill! 🤢
Not everyone gets this side effect of course so Good Luck to all the new starters and statistically most of you will be fine

Just checking in - nearly at the end of my first week on 1mg (next dose tomorrow morning) and I have now lost a total of 24 pounds since early January! I’m so happy, not least because I had a challenging couple of weeks when the 0.50 dose did very little to suppress my appetite and I was worried I would undo all of my good work. The 1mg is definitely keeping hunger at bay and so far I haven’t had any negative side effects.

So good to read everyone’s else’s positive updates too!

Oigetoffmylawn · 24/02/2023 12:30

Should be taking dose 3 of 0.5 today but I'm out for a nice meal this evening so I'm holding off until tomorrow, don't want a repeat of last weekend! I've lost another 1lb, really pleased with my progress.

Twinmama13 · 24/02/2023 12:45

I've just taken my first dose, do you all store your opened pens in the fridge? Thanks in advance

wow that's incredible!! i'm just about to take my first 1mg so hoping that will get things going! very temperamental scales but if i go with the kindest reading i have lost 21lbs since December. even if i go with the worst it's still a stone and it really has been easy.
The only slight negative i have is as the shopper and cooker i have no enthusiasm for meal planning which is ok for me but the rest of the household are perplexed as i'm a secret apart from DH and you guys user!!
it's definitely not linear some days i weigh a lot more than others i do weigh daily i'm afraid but overall the trajectory is downwards
My clothes are feeling better - i was squashing into things i shouldn't have!!

MiniCooperLover · 24/02/2023 13:43

Am 12lbs down which I'm pleased with. Tuesday will be my 5th injection. Another 5lb or so and I think my wedding ring will fit. I get terrible water retention which makes my knuckles swell and thankfully that seems to be passing a little. Tried on last summer's clothes and they all fit still, but just comfortably now whereas I'm sure last summer I had to wedge into them, so that's progress.

That’s fantastic, well done you! I think weight can change so much based on the day, scales, toilet habits etc, so I would go by your clothes which are feeling so much better! 🥳

I’m the same, I was squeezing myself into a size 16 as I didn’t want to buy size 18 or even bigger and now all my size 16 clothes are either big on me or fit perfectly (the ones which I had been shoehorning myself into).

I also travelled recently and my plane seatbelt had at least 8 inches left after I fastened it, whereas when I last flew just a couple of months ago I had about 4cm left!

I’m so happy that I tried Ozempic, it has changed my life. I feel that I was hurtling towards all kinds of serious health problems at my pre-Ozempic weight and my self-esteem was also really low. It’s amazing how much better I feel already both physically and mentally.

Prettybubblesintheair · 24/02/2023 13:52

Just checking in too. I finally weighed myself I’ve lost 9lb so far! On my second week of 0.5mg, will be going up to 1mg on Sunday. My goal weight is 9st 10lb. Less than 3 stone to go!

IAmBreathingIn · 24/02/2023 14:10

Well done everyone on your latest weight losses 👏🏻👏🏻 It's so lovely to hear ☺️ I haven't weighed since last week, I was 9lb down then after around 5 weeks.

I have been feeling very, very tired and sometimes getting headaches, but thankfully very little nausea.

@Twiglets1 Please do stay on the forum and let us all know how you're getting on! You've made great progress, you've got this now ☺️

SailorGeri · 24/02/2023 15:29

It's so lovely to see everyone's successes. My sickness went -"after a day of feeling very ill and sorry for myself.
This week I've divided my 1mg in to two. I took half yesterday and will do the other half on Monday.
Since Nov I've lost about 10lbs and I'm delighted with that. Still a long way to go, but slow and steady is good for me.

NanooCov · 24/02/2023 17:29

Just started this week with ozempic. Took first dose yesterday (0.25mg) and am really feeling nauseous this afternoon. Haven't noticed a dramatic difference so far but as it's only day one I'm not complaining. I went with Juniper and have been impressed with them so far.

tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee · 24/02/2023 17:44

Today should be my 4th 0.25mg injection but I've decided to go up to 0.50 as I've been starving all week. I've been thinking about sweet things as well which had completely stopped for 3 weeks. Weight loss has plateaued this week too but I can from previous posts I'm not alone with that in week 3. I'm 13 pounds down which I'm delighted with but expect it to slow down a bit from now on. I'm hoping for no side effects with the step up but I've been v lucky with just some constipation really and being sick one morning after the 2nd jab but that's all.

ILostMyself · 24/02/2023 19:11

TheGrandUpwards · 23/02/2023 16:17

ILostMyself I'm the same after two days. I'm surprised at how much effect a low dose for such a short time has had on my appetite. I turned down a slice of cake with zero emotional turmoil or begrudgement.

THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ME EVER

Sorry for shouting, but that's huge for me.

Well done!! I’ve been finding that I have less appetite in the morning and afternoon (still enough to eat breakfast and lunch though) and by evening I have a bit more appetite for dinner… then by about 8/9pm I’m starting to think that I could snack… but manage to control myself (also something I haven’t been able to do for a long time 😂). Today I haven’t been hungry all day.. even right now so thats been nice.

I’m definitely feeling the tiredness though, from mid afternoon through to evening, keep yawning 😴

Well done everyone on your losses!

themuminator · 24/02/2023 19:55

Day 1 for me! I took a couple of days to work up the courage to start. Ordered through Manual for the initial discount.

The success stories are really helping! I've carefully kept my food intake today lowish but sensible.

I'm a size 18-20 5'5" and have a mobility problem after breaking my leg badly. 16st 3 this morning.

I'd be happy with any sustained loss, but really need to get to 12st at least. I'm a single parent, so I really cannot afford this, but I need to take action, and I'm hoping the high cost makes me make the most of it. Also hoping the hungry chatter slows down soon like I hear happens!

Prettybubblesintheair · 24/02/2023 20:51

Sorry tmi but….I finally went to the loo!

that must be difficult it's a lot of cash to find.
Hopefully it will work quickly for you xx

Good Luck 🤞 I did find for me that the cost helped to focus my mind on low calorie healthy meals. Hope the food chatter shuts up soon.

Hi everyone, I'm thinking of taking the plunge, can someone send me a code for juniper please?
