“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD TWO

Here’s a shiny new thread for everyone who’s been sharing their experiences on the original, and of course all new starters are welcome too!

OP posts:
Kfjsjdbd · 22/01/2023 08:20

I’ve just weighed myself after week one, and was really happy to have lost 1lb.

It’s not huge loss, but I’m starting at 11 stone 8, so not in the obese category, and it has been pretty much effortless loss. I haven’t had any negative side effects at all.

Looking forward to increasing my dose to 0.5 in a couple of weeks!

Vix112 · 22/01/2023 08:23

Hi does anyone have a juniper discount code please? Many thanks

Hi does anyone have a juniper discount code please? Many thanks

I've PM'd you mine Smile

leilani83 · 22/01/2023 09:53

LOL at fat eyes and feet! My huge bras are becoming loose 😁8kg gone so far in a bit over two months!

missfliss · 22/01/2023 10:42

I submitted my Juniper form yesterday - now worried that won't quite hit their BMI requirements - I think mine is at 29 rather than 30.
Does anyone know if I will be declined ?

Goawayangryman · 22/01/2023 10:43

Have you got any comorbidities missfliss, like hypertension or high cholesterol? I think their cutoff is BMI of 30 otherwise.

Goawayangryman · 22/01/2023 10:47

Morning folks. Hope you're having a non-hungry weekend.

I've gone up to 0.5mg this weekend as I'm impatient and also not experiencing any side effects. Going alright so far. Still no side effects aside from antipathy toward food. Yay. And I've lost about 3.5kg in 2 weeks. Although I have given up wine which could account for some of it.

DorotheaDiamond · 22/01/2023 10:56

Could I get a code pretty please?

DorotheaDiamond · 22/01/2023 11:05

Also has anyone used these people?

www.ukmeds.co.uk/ozempic

am I right in thinking most cost efficient is to get a 0.5 and use clicks to do 4x.25 then 2 x 0.5?

anyone have the click chart for the 0.5 pen?

then presumably go to 1mg and use clicks for remaining 2x.5 titrating up?

extra needles from Amazon?

Yeah, I'd be interested too as it's much more expensive through Juniper!

missfliss · 22/01/2023 11:40

No comorbitidies no -

missfliss · 22/01/2023 11:44

Good idea Leilani- will keep an eye it is much cheaper

Goawayangryman · 22/01/2023 11:55

@DorotheaDiamond will send you a juniper code then at least you can get £50 off

leilani83 · 22/01/2023 12:23

I've cancelled my Juniper order and planning to order from Uk Meds next, works out at £126 a month if you buy three which is a lot better than £200 a month with Juniper!

Did someone say they had spare needles? I still have 1-2 doses left in my old 0.5mg pen.

missfliss · 22/01/2023 12:26

Yes am also going to do the UK route - is there any reason not to buy three pens together ? Does anyone know?

Goawayangryman · 22/01/2023 13:14

I suppose it depends on how long they are in date for? If they expired before your 3 months was up then you'd have to bin them.

DorotheaDiamond · 22/01/2023 13:14

Do you need to count clicks with 0.5 pen? Info online says it is sane as 0.25 pen and can be set to either?

Alstoybarn · 22/01/2023 13:43

Just weighed and I've lost a stone! In 2.5 weeks. Amazing! Honestly this is life changing I just can't believe how effortless it is because I'm just not hungry. I never think about food. I'm baffled how this works but I love it. 3 stone to go

Eatentoomanyroses · 22/01/2023 13:58

Anyone taking Rybelsus instead of this?

msssm · 22/01/2023 14:27

Can anyone tell me if you can have fast days while on this?
Considering starting as I am obese after a few years peri but I do like to follow a low carb/fast days diet.

Mollybeth · 22/01/2023 14:49

Sorry TMI but just a pre warning for anyone! I had a custard doughnut last night and for the last 10 hours I’ve had constant diarrhoea and severe stomach cramps to the point where it feels almost like early labour. I feel very dehydrated and tired today! But lesson learnt about the sugary foods!

Peridot1 · 22/01/2023 15:11

@msssm - low carb is definitely fine. I was hoping I’d be able to do fasting days but seem to wake up hungry for some reason.

Peridot1 · 22/01/2023 15:12

@Eatentoomanyroses - I switched to Rybelsus for a bit last year as I was travelling so thought it would be easier. I didn’t really like it. You have to take the tablet every morning on an empty stomach and I found I could taste it for a while. I prefer the ease of the weekly injection.

Cherryonthetop2019 · 22/01/2023 15:14

I’ve been on Ozempic since May 2022. I started on 0.25 for 4 weeks then went to 0.5 till September 2022 and then increased it to 0.75. I’ve lost about 30lbs and gone from a size 16 to a size 12.

I’m a T2 diabetic so I get mine from my diabetic nurse and so don’t pay for it. My HBA1C was 57 when I started and is now at non diabetic levels. Nurse is very happy so I can continue on it as it’s doing what it needs to and doing it very well.

The feeling of fullness and lack of appetite does wear off quite a bit after a while. These are initial side effects and do not last forever. So this is the time to change what you eat and how much of it.

Mycatsgoldtooth · 22/01/2023 15:26

I’m not overweight, a bmi of 24. But I’m pre-diabetic and have had GD with three pregnancies. Would I be able to take this - or do you have to be in the over 27 bmi category?
