“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD TWO

Here’s a shiny new thread for everyone who’s been sharing their experiences on the original, and of course all new starters are welcome too!

And it’s higher strength i believe x

There is mention of it being 2.4mg which seems very high to someone like me who is still adapting to 0.25mg!

But someone said Wegovy will also begin at 0.25 then 0.50 etc but has the option of going up higher than Ozempic.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 15/02/2023 14:04

Yes once it comes out do you think you will go up the strengths or stick with 1mg? I having been losing on 1mg so maybe no need but on the other hand maybe it would work better to build up to 2.4?

At the moment my feeling is I won’t want to go higher than 1mg. But that may be because I have experienced fatigue and nausea even on 0.25 so can’t really imagine going up higher than 1mg.
I think if you’re losing weight on 1mg I would stay at that dose for as long as it keeps working.

Prettybubblesintheair · 15/02/2023 14:40

0.5 is working for me but over time you do become resistant to medication so it’d be nice to have the option to go up if needed.

I'm doing 0.5mg twice a week and find by day 4 it's wearing off. I've not tried 1mg in one go yet. I'm finding the appetite suppressant effects are there but less pronounced then when I started so I'd happily try a higher dose hf it were available.

Scrambledbeans · 15/02/2023 15:57

Hi is someone able to send me a referral code for myjuniper please?

polopolopolopoo · 15/02/2023 16:27

Does anyone know when the sulphur burps go away, or is it something I just have to get used to?? 🤢🤢

Not everyone gets them but I am one of the unlucky ones who does. I’ve had them twice, both times on a Friday ( I inject on a Wednesday). They are nasty but for me only seem to last a day.
Im hoping I will stop getting them once my body gets used to Ozempic but we’ll see 😬

polopolopolopoo · 15/02/2023 17:46

@Twiglets1 I've had them since 4th injection for 2 days now - hoping they don't last.

mrsmopalot · 15/02/2023 17:47

you could try taking an antacid? some gaviscon might help

RotundRuby · 15/02/2023 18:44

So, the 0.25 is absolutely working for me. Am only on day 2 after injecting Monday just before bed. I don't have a particularly large appetite but it's certainly curbed, most importantly, I am seeing big reduction in sugar cravings!

I did say I was a sugar addict and because I thought it might take a few days to kick in and my schedule I haven't given up sugar, but that being said, on neither day have I woken up craving sweetness. I have fancied something sweet if in front of me but I don't feel consumed by sugar where I need to seek it out. This is a monumental improvement for me, I wonder if this is what normal 'sweet tooth' people feel like?!

It’s great not to have the constant cravings isn’t it? I used to get constant cravings for sweets and crisps but now these only happen rarely

RotundRuby · 15/02/2023 18:58

And just for anyone interested, this is what I've been eating:

Day1
200g Greek Yogurt, strawberries, seed mix, drizzle of honey (managed half) Cappuccino & 1/2 Hot Cross Bun
Small tin Baked Beans & Cheese
Breadcrumbed Cod with salt & vinegar carrots (managed 2/3)

Day2 -
Chai Latte
1/2 Pret Meatless Meatball Wrap
1/2 Blueberry Frangipane tart
1/2 Pret PLT Sandwich (Rank! Do not recommend under any circumstances)
Another Chai Latte & a Custard Cream

I usually try and eat a high protein, healthy diet but typically this week has been mayhem with only one meal at home and really poor choice of available food. I'll be heading to bed soon and then back to more nutritious offerings tomorrow.

RotundRuby · 15/02/2023 18:59

Yes @Twiglets1 I have so much more headspace and don't feel driven to source sugar like I need it to survive. I feel relieved.

polopolopolopoo · 15/02/2023 19:10

@mrsmopalot yes might try that thanks!

polopolopolopoo · 15/02/2023 19:11

@RotundRuby so glad your sugar cravings stopped, mine did too and it's a revelation! I had one square of dark choc after 3 weeks of not wanting anything sweet and it was divine but I didn't binge more as I usually would. I'm so so happy.

OzzyOzworn · 15/02/2023 19:18

6th injection last night (still on 0.38 not even started 0.5 yet!) and 9.5lbs down. Eating more carbs than before I started although still healthy (but then I never ate badly just continues gaining regardless thanks to PCOS insulin resistance) so I’m blinking thrilled!!!!!!!!! Its feeling easy frankly x

IAmBreathingIn · 16/02/2023 01:40

@Cappuccinopup and @leilani83

Hi both, I was just wondering if you had received your orders yet? I've had no news! 🤷🏼‍♀️

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 16/02/2023 07:23

Is that UK meds? I e mailed them yesterday and had a similar response about a cluster of orders and working through the backlog. Sorry - I feel responsible for encouraging others to use them. I hope they get their act together soon either with the drugs or a refund to spend elsewhere - the timing is important and it’s not cheap. At least they weren’t selling two or three pens together last week.

Juniper told me to discard the pen after using 0.25 for 4 weeks. And order a new one 😑

Hmmm… not sure about that though it’s clearly in THEIR best interests as you will order a new pen. Lots of people on this thread have used the 0.25 pen more than 4 times and I intend to do so too.
