Here’s a shiny new thread for everyone who’s been sharing their experiences on the original, and of course all new starters are welcome too!

@MaryPoppinjay the book “Why We Eat (Too Much)” by Dr Andrew Jenkinson is quite interesting. As is The Obesity Code by Dr Jason Fung. It’s definitely not as simple as calorie restriction!

Glad you got somewhere with Juniper.

Peridot1 · 20/01/2023 15:35

@mathis2006 - that would be quite a high dose of Ozempic. It’s a wry different drug to Saxenda so it’s best to start low at first although not necessarily as low as 0.25. It really depends on the supplier too. The Virtual Slimming Clinic told me to start on 0.5 for weigh loss. If you

Peridot1 · 20/01/2023 15:35

Sorry hit post too soon! It’s a VERY different drug my scone sentence should read!

mathis2006 · 20/01/2023 15:39

What is the assessment process with quick meds? How is the phone consultation?

mathis2006 · 20/01/2023 15:44

Peridot1 thank you.

Yes, would like to start at 0.5mg. I wouldn't want to make myself ill.

Goawayangryman · 20/01/2023 15:58

quickmeds gets very very bad reviews online. I wouldn't order from them. They are also linking to Wegovy and it isn't licensed in the UK.

Goawayangryman · 20/01/2023 16:01

sorry many apologies, its dailychemist that gets really bad reviews. But I don't think quickmeds has ozempic FWIW.

mathis2006 · 20/01/2023 16:02

Too late......
Just ordered 🙈
Hoping for the best. I ordered the 1mg pen so it can last me for 8 injections.

Goawayangryman · 20/01/2023 16:07

Is this Ozempic? I can't see it on their site.

Goawayangryman · 20/01/2023 16:08

Oh no, I see it now. Yeah, that's cheaper than Juniper isn't it? I'll go with them next time I reckon. Interested to know if htey actually have 1mg in stock.

MaireadMcSweeney · 20/01/2023 17:09

Crap!!
I've just ordered from quick meds but worried I've ordered the wrong thing?!
it says 1mg pen, 4 doses. Does this mean 4 x 1mg or have I ordered 4 0.25 doses??

MaireadMcSweeney · 20/01/2023 17:11

Oh I think it's ok, they do a 0.5mg pen too with 4 doses so it must be 1mg x 4!

Twins3007 · 20/01/2023 17:15

MaireadMcSweeney · 20/01/2023 14:27

I looked on quick meds and they don't have ozempic, only saxenda and wegovy?

If you go on search on there website it comes up

That’s what I order it’s much better as you get 8 weekly shots for same money , just do 36 clicks that’s 0.5

I’ve ordered from them last 18 months and never had a problem

mathis2006 · 20/01/2023 17:40

This is how many clicks per dosage for 1mg pen.

They rang me. Asked if I'd taken it before, made sure I understood that it was prescribed off license, told me about side effects and recommended sensible eating and exercise alongside ozempic.
It was fine.

Hope it’s ok to join.

I’ve been on Ozempic since last February. Have lost almost 3 stone. Started at 16 st 3 and last weigh in last week I was 13st 4. Am very happy with that obviously! It’s been a bit slow as I’ve had a few breaks. I’m currently on 1mg but thinking of increasing the dose as I’m definitely eating more and thinking about food more.

Food wise I am trying to limit carbs but not cut them out completely. I’ll tend to not have carbs during the day but have some with dinner. My carbs during the day are currently two biscuits after my lunch! Not ideal but it’s keeping me going.

I am also still drinking wine. I know some people just can’t stomach it on Ozempic but sadly I can!

Hello! When you stopped, did the weight come back?

Abeachsomewhere · 20/01/2023 21:26

For anyone thinking about cheating - don’t. At least not on greasy food. I had some of my daughter’s chips tonight and have just thrown up😢 I didn’t even have anything else (which is a win, old cheats would have involved sweet things which I just don’t fancy anymore) but on Ozempic my body obviously didn’t like the chips at all. This has spooked me so I think I’m going to stick to the 0.25 dose for at least one more week and then review for the fourth dose. I am seeing good results on the 0.25 and don’t want to start having vomiting/diarrhoea if I start on the 0.50 too soon.

Peridot1 · 20/01/2023 21:38

@justasmalltownmum - a bit. I didn’t stop for long. Went to Australia for a month and switched to the tablets instead of the injections but stopped taking them as (1) I was very constipated and (2) I wanted to be able to enjoy the food. Stopped again in Nov as couldn’t get due to shortages and again at Christmas- both times for two weeks. I felt my appetite increase each time and it takes time for the medication to build back up in my system after a break.

polopolopolopoo · 21/01/2023 08:41

I'd love to know what everyone's eating throughout the day. Just healthy food? Any carbs? Or is it usual diet but much smaller portions? I'm worried that really reducing food is going to limit nutrients...

HermioneWeasley · 21/01/2023 08:45

@polopolopolopoo im eating what I’d usually eat, but smaller portions and fewer snacks. Also like another poster I struggle with anything too greasy

OP posts:
ladyforallseasons · 21/01/2023 08:47

So after injecting myself for the first time yesterday, I've had the night from hell.
Very nauseous and thought I was going to be sick many times, but thankfully I wasn't.
I feel very bloated and have a horrid headache!
Plus very vivid strange dreams!!!

Does all the above sound normal?

Oh I did have two glasses of wine last night and I couldn't eat all my dinner either and left more than half (salmon rice & broccoli)

It is something to think about. I think it is important that you have a good think about what you are going to eat and plan it so you’re getting nutrient rich foods. I am largely eating low carb, prioritising protein, unprocessed nutrient rich veg/some fruits. Diet is low in ultra high processed foods. Also no harm in taking a good multi vitamin.

StuckInTheUpsideDown · 21/01/2023 09:03

To add, I have historically really struggled with eating well and not eating too much rubbish. The Ozempic definitely makes that easier.
