Here’s a shiny new thread for everyone who’s been sharing their experiences on the original, and of course all new starters are welcome too!

@Cappuccinopup I have used QuickMeds too, excellent service from them. Use the code 'REPEAT5' for £5 off ☺️

Peridot1 · 11/02/2023 09:12

I’m not sure what will happen @Twiglets1. The lower dose may remain Ozempic but there shouldn’t be the supply issues that there has been once they get Wegovy up and running here.

Twiglets1 · 11/02/2023 09:16

RebelGeek76 · 11/02/2023 09:11

I read the same too. It will be the same doses as Ozempic (0.25, 0.5 amd 1mg) but additional higher doses of 1.7 and 2.4mg. I am guessing for weight loss some may benefit from the higher doses but if most of us have success on 1mg or even 0.5mg then no reason to increase to the higher doses.

That’s good if it will be available at the lower doses too.
Was going to tell my husband about it when I switched to Wegovy but doubt I can keep a secret from him that long 🤔

orangelous · 11/02/2023 09:38

Hi Twiglets i also did not tell my DH but had to blab in the end as we were travelling and it would have been very difficult to keep up the subterfuge.
He was fine about it but now keeps asking me questions about how much weight i've lost and am i eating less etc - exactly what i didn't want to deal with. He believes he's being supportive but i just want it to be completely up to me ( and you lot!!) so keep it under your hat is my advice!!!

OsirisservesAnubis · 11/02/2023 09:48

You have to remember that this medication is doing stuff in your body above and beyond appetite suppression, which is why higher doses are considered therapeutic - lower doses don't do the same.

I've just moved up.to 0.5 and so far so good. I've already lost 1.5lbs this week.

Also, I made the mistake of drinking 3 Proseccos yesterday late afternoon as went to a friends leaving do. Couldn’t eat a thing when I got home (zero appetite) and I hadn’t eaten much all day either (zero appetite). Was sick in the night, my own fault for drinking the same as I normally would but after not eating much all day.
I’m going to persevere with Oxempic a bit longer as it’s certainly effective at reducing my appetite, but almost too much? Will order another 0.25mg pen rather than move up to 0.5. on the advice of some lovely members of this group. I don’t want to sound like a misery but am only giving my experience in case it helps anyone else. I will make sure I eat nourishing food today and drink plenty of water.

Order a 1mg pen and administer the dose you want. No point at all paying for the lower dose pens!

I’m trying to keep it under my hat. It feels hard though & I’m worried he’ll open up a delivery box of Ozempic next time it arrives for example and find out that way. Just want to keep it quiet until I’m ready to tell him.
Though Im going away with my adult daughter next week and it will be a relief to discuss it with her. She’s the only person I’ve told in real life so far.

Peridot1 · 11/02/2023 10:34

I agree with @MaireadMcSweeney about ordering the higher dose pen @Twiglets1 - it will work out much cheaper for you.

I told my DH I was going to order it from the beginning. He wasn’t overly impressed as he’s seen me try various things over the years. He is very impressed now however. I don’t think I could have hidden it as I was eating so much less it was really obvious.

I am now loud and proud about it. I’ve told quite a few people. I’m so blown away by it and so happy it’s worked so well for me having spent the last 30 years feeling like a total failure for not being able to lose weight it turns out I wasn’t a failure after all.

I surprised no one has noticed I’m eating so much less, supposedly without any help. I’m just telling everyone I’m on a diet but I’ve never been this restrained on a diet before!
Thats amazing that you feel so positive @Peridot1
Of course you weren’t a failure! I find it so sad the way we give weight a moral judgement but I do it too. To myself not anyone else.

tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee · 11/02/2023 11:16

I felt nauseous last night after my second injection and this morning I had a small pot of natural yoghurt and some raspberries and I have just projectile vomited up my bathroom walls like something from the Exorcist! I feel fine now immediately after that. I'm afraid to eat again now after that ☹️ I didn't have any effects at all after the first one

I've been blown away my the psychological impact ozempic has had. I actually don't believe it's a psychological impact but a physiological one that we don't yet understand. I'm fortunate enough to have not had a "weight problem" my entire life and it's been a revelation to me quite how different I feel on ozempic to how I've felt the last 10 years. I feel like the old me again, a person not consumed by thoughts of food. It's wonderful.

Oh poor you! That sounds awful.
I was feeling slightly nauseous last night & also had the dreaded sulphur burps. I chewed a sweet indigestion tablet and honestly think they was the thing that sent me over the edge. The saccharin taste made me feel really sick and then of course I was sick in the night. Next time I feel nauseous I won’t let a thing pass my lips apart from water.
I felt fine immediately after being sick too. And have enjoyed my food today with no bad effects. I think once you feel like normal ( no nausea) it is safe to try something plain like toast.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 11/02/2023 12:08

My vomiting was always after the second injection on a new dose. I think the hormone builds up over time.

I have started nearly vomiting after parkrun now. Last three runs have been the same. Don’t know if I can blame the Ozempic as I have been on 1 mg for around 2 or 3 months now. It’s never happened before though.

I have also told a few more people about Ozempic now. Especially as it has worked and I am losing. No one has been judgy (to my face anyway). DH has known all along and can see how it is working - he is enjoying the second helping he gets when we eat out 😂.

IAmBreathingIn · 11/02/2023 12:42

@tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee That sounds terrible. I hope it's a one-off 🤞🏻

Talking of side effects, has anyone experienced dark circles under their eyes? I'm 5 weeks in (3rd injection at 0.5) and mine are horrendous! I look gravely ill. I am very tired but I have mostly been sleeping my usual amount. My weight loss is very slow, I haven't suddenly lost a huge amount of anything like that. I haven't experienced many other side effects at all. Do you think this will clear up? 🙄

How does one actually order 1mg though? I keep getting told I need to start at 0.25 which I have but I want to order 1mg anc health express are say no! Also I can’t actually find it on quickmeds and uk meds are out of stock!

Peridot1 · 11/02/2023 14:46

Maybe try ordering 0.5 rather than the 1mg to start. It’s still better value. I got my first one from the Virtual Slimming Clinic and they recommend starting at 0.5.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 11/02/2023 14:55

Health Express will insist you work through the pens in order. If you take your first two 0.5mg doses with your 0.25mg pen then you can order a 1 mg pen from somewhere else and tell them honestly that you are on the 0.5mg dose.

Link to Quickmeds 1mg pen.

I moved to Quickmeds and just told them my history of using Ozempic and the dosage I was on and the approved straight away and sent it to me. I started on 05.mg though, never bothered with the very low dose.

0.5mg pen isn't better value than 1mg. It has half the amount in! You can dose 0.25, 0.5 or 1mg from a 1mg pen.

ButterfliesnWaterfalls · 11/02/2023 15:13

Anyone have the needles? My pen has some ozempic but they only gave 4 needles with it.

You can buy them on eBay or Amazon and I think from your pharmacy too

Prettybubblesintheair · 11/02/2023 15:35

Thank you!

Peridot1 · 11/02/2023 15:36

@MaireadMcSweeney - oh I know that but if it’s hard getting hold of the 1mg for the first time ordering a 0.5 is better than 0.25 isn’t it? Is it? I’m confusing myself now! Grin

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 11/02/2023 15:38

0.25 and 0.5 have exactly the same contents and for some suppliers the 0.25 is cheaper.

Peridot1 · 11/02/2023 16:25

@MaireadMcSweeney - what scales did you weigh in this morning to get your 13st 14 weight? Someone has started a thread about it!
