“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD TWO

Here’s a shiny new thread for everyone who’s been sharing their experiences on the original, and of course all new starters are welcome too!

I do wonder if the issue might be the fact you are being very abstinent? I don't think this medication is supposed to encourage us not to eat enough, it's to encourage us to eat enough but not too much which is what has led us to this stage? I had a couple of days last week where I felt awful, so cold and just unwell, and I realised that actually my portions were far too small to cope with? So I'm not over-eating but not under-eating either and this week I feel much better on it and have still lost. Is that potentially the issue maybe?

Cozytoesandtoast00 · 10/02/2023 11:57

Thanks for all of your encouragement guys. Much appreciated.
I think having enough sleep really affects things for me. I always feel much hungrier if I've slept badly. Early night for me tonight!

Peridot1 · 10/02/2023 12:38

Ozempic can definitely cause tiredness especially initially. I was shattered when I started. I actually know someone who had to stop taking it as she just couldn’t function.

@orangelous and @Twiglets1 - we all fluctuate. It’s annoying though! In my first week I lost five pounds and in my second I gained a pound. I remember being so fed up! But it did eventually come off.

Thank you @Peridot1
I know I’m still adjusting to it. I’m on such a small dose though. Feel a bit silly reporting side effects because I thought it was basically a placebo at this dose but I do genuinely feel like it’s making me tired. Anyway, I’ll carry on as I am for a bit & be conscious of the need to eat regularly also.

Peridot1 · 10/02/2023 13:16

Oh it might be a small dose @Twiglets1 but there is a reason that it is prescribed at that dose to start people off. It’s because even at the low dose it can cause side effects. So it’s not really a placebo.

SerenadeOfTheSchoolRun · 10/02/2023 13:30

I was tired on 0.25mg and had other side effects. Even lost a bit of weight the first week 🙂

Thanks. I’m finding this thread very useful.

I have my second dose of 0.25 this evening, I've weighed myself and I'm 9lbs down in a week 🤯 I know a lot will be water weight but I have been eating very healthily and really cut out junk food which was pretty much all I ate before but I still can't believe that. I can definitely feel it working. I overate one evening and had diarrhoea and a churned up stomach the next day but no other side effects so far thankfully.

I started on 0.5 and I was so exhausted that when I was working at home, I used to have to lie down on the bed in my office/spare room. It took a few weeks to wear off, I had a bit of insomnia as well which was aa bit annoying - knackered but couldn't sleep!

It did stop, I don't have any trouble sleeping and my energy levels are good, especially now that I lugging 5 stone less around.

Katrinawaves · 10/02/2023 15:02

I’ve had some extreme side effects on 0.25 so definitely don’t consider it to be a placebo at that dose! I’ve also lost 13lb in 8 weeks at 0:25 so it has been working steadily for me

HellToupee · 10/02/2023 16:53

I took my 3rd dose this morning and weighed in at 109.4KG - so in the space of two weeks I have lost 4.6KG!! I’m over the moon!!

no side effects at all thankfully, apart from the fact I now happily drink my coffee without sugar 😁

HellToupee · 10/02/2023 17:43

5.6KG even haha!

Peridot1 · 10/02/2023 18:11

Wow @HellToupee that is phenomenal!

Prettybubblesintheair · 10/02/2023 18:26

I’d like to switch to buying from manual after I’ve finished the 0.25 doses? How do I let them know I need the 0.5mg pen? I’m worried if they make me start at the beginning it won’t be cost effective.

Twiglets1 · 10/02/2023 19:57

Brilliant, Well Done.

Not everyone gets side effects so hopefully you will stay lucky 😀

Has anyone had issues with delivery from Ukmeds? I ordered last Friday and my order was marked as shipped on Wednesday, due to be delivered today but delivery was never attempted.

Aware that ozempic has to be kept cold, bit worried it might be unusable by the time it actually gets here!

I ordered from them on Weds and it was supposed to be next day delivery, but it hasn't arrived yet.

tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee · 10/02/2023 20:47

I just did my second injection and after still having a drop on the needle last week I held it in for 20 seconds after it went back to 0 but there was still a drop on the needle. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or is this normal?

They have a number on Google you can call them. Manual is £129 for the first order but £199 for each month after that

Ahh, has yours been marked as dispatched yet? I just checked and I actually ordered on 2nd Feb so over a week now and in transit since Wednesday 🙄

No, not dispatched yet. Really outrageous for you to wait so long when you have to pay for next day delivery!

Yeah I can’t say I’m impressed with the service - glad I didn’t order more than one pen, as from what I have read, once the pen hits room temperature you have to use it within 56 days. Which will be annoying even with the one pen I have ordered, since I’m only halfway through my current pen so won’t finish the new one in 56 days 🙄

I have emailed ukmeds to clarify safety wise and if the pen will have stayed cold since Wednesday til delivery (tomorrow maybe?), seems unlikely though!

I have done 6 injections now and more than half of them have a drop on the end, it seems fairly common and doesn’t mean that you injected incorrectly

tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee · 10/02/2023 21:39

Thanks @Cappuccinopup that puts my mind at rest. I was afraid I wasn't injecting priority and wasting it.

tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee · 10/02/2023 21:40

*improperly not priority!!
