Here’s a shiny new thread for everyone who’s been sharing their experiences on the original, and of course all new starters are welcome too!

Down 2 kgs in 2 weeks but had a very boozy weekend. Still it's progress and am seeing a difference in my hands(!) and face!

ladyforallseasons · 31/01/2023 15:11

Those of you using QuickMeds....when I go onto the weight loss section on their webpage, there is no mention of Ozempic at all....let alone somewhere I can order from?

Or do you just click on "start consultation" and that's when they offer Ozempic?

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Thank you!

If you Google "Quickmeds ozempic" there are a number of links to the various size pens and you can order/fill in the forms from there.

I’m confused the numan pen says 0.25mg pen on it but it says it contains 1.5mg so isn’t that 6x 0.25mg doses not 4 weeks worth? Also I was going to take 0.38mg today but it wouldn’t let me click past 0.25? So presumably there’s now a remaining 0.5mg in the pen that I can use next week? If so does that mean I need to do 0.25mg in 2 separate doses? Guessing so…..(?!) thanks x

I'm going to do 4 lots of 0.25 then the 5th dose will be 0.5mg.

I’m just confused as it states 4 doses on the pen but actually there’s 6…(?) …anyway That’s what I’m thinking to do so my 0.5mg is next Tues. but I think that 0.5 will have to be in 2x 0.25 doses coz it wouldn’t let me click past 0.25 weirdly but I assume as long as you take in the right dose it doesn’t matter how many ‘stabs’ it takes ha then u assume the second pen numan sends will be a 2mg pen containing 4x 0.5mg doses?

superdupernova · 31/01/2023 21:09

mathis2006 · 31/01/2023 12:13

I messaged quickmeds and they said they had lots of supply.

I can't find the 0.5mg. It says out of stock.

Peridot1 · 31/01/2023 21:12

@superdupernova - it’s usually cheaper to buy the 1mg pen and just take the .5 dose.

Yes lots of people have commented on the same thing… it is confusing re the first pen. But on week 5 I intend to use the 0.25 twice. Will have to get another needle though as they only provide 4.

Peridot1 · 31/01/2023 21:52

@Twiglets1 - I bought these and they work fine.

OneAndDon3 · 31/01/2023 22:04

@Twiglets1 that's what I did today. You can get refill needles from Amazon 100 for less than a tenner. I had loads left over from IVF though.

Twiglets1 · 01/02/2023 03:50

Thank you @Peridot1 and @OneAndDon3

Twwodoorsaway · 01/02/2023 08:27

Well end of week 3 here, so I’ve just had my 4th injection. I’m happy to report a loss of 1.1kg this week, thankfully after last week’s stall. So a total of just over 3kg so far. I’ve got a very long way to go but it’s a good start. I decided to go for half way up to the 0.5mg today, as there is plenty in the pen, so I’ve had 0.375mg which meant two injections.

Peridot1 · 01/02/2023 08:45

I have been definitely more hungry this week especially in the evenings. And have been eating more as a result. So I think I definitely need to up my dose. I had my dose of 1mg on Sunday. I think I will take .5 today to see if it helps. I have been on 1mg for quite a while now. Feeling a bit funny about going up for some reason.

OneAndDon3 · 01/02/2023 09:09

Well done @Twwodoorsaway

I really need to start exercising more this week. It's full on stalled for the last week or so as I've been so cold and miserable.

mathis2006 · 01/02/2023 09:37

Week 2 and I don't think 0.5 is working for me.....

Probably because I came off saxenda I must have a higher tolerance. No sides effects but not much appetite suppression, constantly thinking aboout food where with Saxenda I was not insterested at all. I think I will inject another 0.5 on Saturday and move to 1mg/week on week 4 if still no effects.

Peridot1 · 01/02/2023 09:53

@mathis2006 - you might find 0.5 twice a week is good. I did that for a while and a few people in a FB group I am in did the same. It seemed to work better than 1mg in one dose for some reason.

mathis2006 · 01/02/2023 10:03

Hopefully. Do you think it is still building up? I just haven't felt that off switch I had with saxenda.

Peridot1 · 01/02/2023 10:11

It can take time to build up. How long have you been on it? Also it’s great for lots of people but doesn’t work for everyone.

mathis2006 · 01/02/2023 12:07

This is my second week. Really hoping it works for me.

Peridot1 · 01/02/2023 12:36

@mathis2006 - sorry just saw you said second week! Duh! Yes it can take time to build up for sure. I’d give it another week. It’s very different to Saxenda and isn’t just about appetite suppression so you may not get that same feeling.

MaireadMcSweeney · 01/02/2023 13:11

reporting in on week 5 - tummy issues from last week have been absent and appetite suppression is still going strong. On my second week of 0.5 in one go, though in week 3 I did 0.25 twice which wasn't very effective. 0.5 is working for me well so far. I found an extra 0.5 dose in my first pen, not sure how but it was definitely in there so I got 2mg out of that pen. I've lost 5lbs so a steady 1lb a week which I'm happy with.

Kfjsjdbd · 01/02/2023 15:07

I’ll do the same!

I’ve just taken my 4th dose. I took 0.5ml as I didn’t feel like 0.25ml was making a difference last week. I am too nervous to weigh myself after a not great week last week. But last time I did weigh:

starting weight: 11 stone 8lbs
weight after 2 weeks: 11st 4lbs

Hi all, took my 2nd dose last night. I'm with Juniper.

The treatment plan Juniper have given me is 2 months at 0.25, then 2 months at 0.5.

I'm really keen to move up to 0.5 as soon as possible. It's definitely having an effect for maybe 2/3 days but not the full week and it's probably the dose. For info bmi 43 so definitely in the right category for this!

Has anyone challenged this with them? Seems so expensive to pay £200 for only 0.25 for 2 months. Thanks and we'll done on great results everyone.

This is a really slow increase - my juniper has one month at .25 and two months at .5, and the only reason it is two months at .5 is because they are struggling to stock the 1mg pens. It seems like they have taken on more customers than they can manage, so they’re keeping people on the sub-therapeutic doses for longer than they should be. I will be moving to another supplier. Of course some people have brilliant results on the lower doses, but from everything I have read, the normal titration schedule is a month at .25, a month at .5, then onto 1mg on month three.

1mg is the actual ‘therapeutic’ dose - and Wegovy, which is the same drug as ozempic but specifically licensed for obesity treatment, goes all the way up to 2.4mg. 0.25 and 0.5mg are tiny doses and I wouldn’t personally want to be stuck on them for four months, especially not at £200 a pop from juniper!

What made you move to ozempic from saxenda if you don’t mind me asking?
