10st plus to lose - part 2

A really unimaginative title but the old thread is almost full and we don't want to lose people who have joined us already.

Anyone else with a large amount to lose is more than welcome to join us, we're a friendly bunch and whatever way you're trying, that doesn't matter to us. It's about the results and more importantly the support.

I'm sorry to hear you're struggling @fidgetcube and I empathise.

There is always that part of me that just wants to eat, regardless of time of day or whether I'm actually hungry. I find that part of me really difficult to regulate when I am struggling. I try and distract myself but it doesn't always work. Hoping things get better for you.

Glad you're starting to feel better @DuckWithOneWing. I never lose my appetite when I'm unwell, I end up wanting to eat everything in sight!!

WildImaginings · 26/01/2023 12:10

Oh and forgot to add my check in, another 2lb off. The interim goal is looking like it could actually be achievable now! Trying to let this thought spur me on.

Starting weight: 20.9
Current weight: 20 stone
Goal weight: 15
Interim goal weight (by 20/03): 18.7

ShinyPikachu · 26/01/2023 12:33

Well done @WildImaginings

I'm another who ends up hungry as anything when ill. Even when I had Covid I didn't lose my sense of taste and smell and I couldn't stop eating.

Which is why my latest period of no appetite when not actually being ill has been so weird. Sadly my appetite is back and the scales are definitely reflecting that this week so far, so I'm tracking again from today as I definitely need to now. I was rather hoping I would be used to having less food and it would stay that way but apparently not.

@ShinyPikachu I hoped similar after being ill over christmas, that somehow a couple of weeks of low appetite would help long term with eating less. Ha... no such luck!!

I walked 3 miles today and feel really quite tired.

DuckWithOneWing · 26/01/2023 20:03

This week got worse. My parrot died.

WildImaginings · 26/01/2023 20:16

I am so sorry to hear that @DuckWithOneWing
Be kind to yourself this week.

ShinyPikachu · 26/01/2023 21:09

I'm so sorry @DuckWithOneWing Losing a pet is hard so be kind to yourself right now. We lost our hamster last month and I still miss her. I walk into the room and look for her but there's just a huge gap where her cage was and it's hard. Sending lots of unMNetty hugs to you.

@DuckWithOneWing I am really sorry, pets can leave such huge spaces in our lives and not everybody understands that. Be kind to yourself and take time to be sad.

ShinyPikachu · 30/01/2023 08:26

Hope everyone else's weekend was better than mine. Blush

I had a smallish gain this week (1.4lb), but that was to be expected with getting my appetite back. It was actually over 3.5lb just a couple of days ago so I've managed to do some damage control at least.

I've been getting out walking more again this week but I'm noticing my previously injured foot is starting to play up again, possibly because I got rid of my grotty old trainers and have been wearing my walking boots so I have better support. I never did get an x-ray at the time but I don't know if there's anything that can be done if I did break something and it's just healed weirdly, I think it was just really bad soft tissue damage though and that can take a lot longer than a break to heal can't it?

I did have a NSV yesterday though. I tried on an old pair of jeans that haven't fitted me in ages and I managed to get the button done up. They're just a little too tight to be comfortable still but I'm almost there. Grin

Not the best weekend, ended up eating biscuits several times and Indian snacks. I don't know why I self sabotage so easily. Hormones making me feel hungry this week though.

Sunshineandrainbow · 30/01/2023 17:50

Lentil bolognase sounds right up my street, going to make that tonight 😊

Hottoffeesauce · 31/01/2023 06:23

Hello, I'm new to this group! I'm 52, weighed 21stone 12 pounds but now weigh 20 stone 5 pounds. I'm short, have arthritic knees and am determined to keep losing weight!

ShinyPikachu · 31/01/2023 08:18

Welcome @Hottoffeesauce Smile Well done on your loss so far!

Thank you! I feel so happy that I have joined a chat where other people know what it's like to need to lose a lot of weight, not just a stone or two. I am a type 2 Diabetic and have PCOS so also eating low carb. I was recently diagnosed with heart failure so also need to eat low salt and low fat! I'm losing weight (slowly) but really having to 'educate' myself about what I can and cannot consume. I am so looking forward to reading about the journey of members in this group and (hopefully) recording my losses!

WildImaginings · 31/01/2023 09:57

I hear you on the self sabotage @WeirdPookah I have definite form for this!

Welcome @Hottoffeesauce and well done on your loss so far!

Well I am absolutely chuffed as I'm down to the next stone bracket! Only 2.5 pounds to go to hit a stone loss overall.

The interim goal weight is in sight! I really need to try and get to this weight as I WILL put on at least a stone on holiday- I don't feel bad about that, I want to make the most of the holiday (and the money paid) but I do need to get into the best possible position I can beforehand to account for this and to ensure I'm not right back where I started when I return.

Starting weight: 20.9
Current weight: 19 stone 11.5
Goal weight: 15
Interim goal weight (by 20/03): 18.7

WeirdPookah · 31/01/2023 10:52

Hi @Hottoffeesauce it is great to have a space where people understand the practicalities of such weight.

Overate a lot for lunch yesterday. Then felt ill and ending up skipping dinner. I'm just feeling so stressed and out of sorts. I am Autistic and my routine keeps getting messed up and it makes it hard to cope.

WildImaginings · 31/01/2023 11:21

Oh and well done on the jeans @ShinyPikachu ! I have an outfit that I wore once years ago and have never been able to wear since. At present I can't get it up over my arse (and definitely wouldn't be able to get it over my stomach!) but I'm going to keep trying it on every couple of months and will count it as a massive win when I can actually get into it!

fidgetcube · 31/01/2023 11:39

Well, I am on holiday skiing. I am way too fat for skiing. I managed 2 hours on the first day and one on the second. I’m having a rest day today and tomorrow and doing lessons again Thursday/Friday.

tbh I’m so disappointed in myself. I could have lost 20-30kg last year but did I, no I fucking didn’t. I ate too much, then october hit and I got more depressed. I’m 24 fucking stone. I’m just so fucking miserable. I keep crying. I’ve let everyone down especially myself. I don’t feel good at all.

on a plus note I have lost 3.5 stone over the last 1.5 years. Which I know isn’t much but I’m happy with that.

I just need to lose another 8 st or so to get under 35 bmi so I can have a child. I’m planning to do ivf solo, as I do NOT want a partner. Like a big fat not lol

WildImaginings · 31/01/2023 15:27

You have not let anyone down @fidgetcube

3.5 stone is a really great loss and you should be proud of that. You should also be proud of the time skiing, in no way would I be able to do that!

WeirdPookah · 03/02/2023 13:14

I lost 4lb this week. I just need to manage to keep myself even over the weekend when I find it a lot harder.

WildImaginings · 03/02/2023 17:49

Well done @WeirdPookah fantastic loss. Weekends are a tough one but hope all goes well for you!

Hottoffeesauce · 04/02/2023 13:13

@WeirdPookah Wow! That is so inspiring. Do you do regular exercise too? I want to but still feel too heavy and uncomfortable.

WeirdPookah · 04/02/2023 19:22

@Hottoffeesauce I mostly walk, I occasionally do a modified to what I can manage version of Joe Wicks' workouts, we did the PE with Joe under lockdown, my children loved it. But stuff doing burpees!!!
But I do walk a fair bit, I use the GoogleFit to track at least 150 minutes of "heart points", that's faster paced activity, a week.

WildImaginings · 04/02/2023 21:20
