10st plus to lose - part 2

ShinyPikachu · 22/11/2022 22:53

A really unimaginative title but the old thread is almost full and we don't want to lose people who have joined us already.

Anyone else with a large amount to lose is more than welcome to join us, we're a friendly bunch and whatever way you're trying, that doesn't matter to us. It's about the results and more importantly the support.

I’m still having an awful few days ,but tomorrow is a big day for me ,so I should be able to claw back some control after tomorrow.
on the plus side I’ve managed to keep half a stone off ,even though my eating was out of control .
even a stone of will make a difference,so im going to take it a stone at a time

Sunshineandrainbow · 21/09/2023 18:24

So good to see you post @DuckWithOneWing

Hope you are enjoying your new job.

DuckWithOneWing · 22/09/2023 09:24

Yesterday was ok. I ended up 75 calories over but I was under the day before so I think that's fine. Today I'm travelling home, and I'm trying to decide if I eat dinner early before I leave, late after I get home, or try to grab something on the train. I'm thinking early, but try to leave some calories if I want a snack later.

@Sunshineandrainbow My new job is great! I've managed to get my dream job and can't quite believe it. It's only a temporary contract but I'm loving it while I'm here. Hope everything is going well with you!

MrTiddlesTheCat · 24/09/2023 14:02

0.6 kg down for me this week.

Autumflower · 25/09/2023 14:46

I’m back and ready to do this .
have started on the nhs app ,it’s given me a lot of calories per day
aiming for half a stone a month

ShinyPikachu · 25/09/2023 15:37

Thanks all, definitely getting myself back in the zone. 1.5lb off this week.

Welcome back @DuckWithOneWing and @Autumflower

Well done @MrTiddlesTheCat

I'm the flakiest poster ever here! 🙈 I agree with the switch @MrTiddlesTheCat, I feel the same and if I'm not in the zone I'm truly not in the zone and things spiral easily for me.

@ShinyPikachu thanks for trying to herd us all along on the right path!

well done all for all the continued losses and hopefully we can struggle through the tough days together.

I think I mentioned previously we were TTC and I've found out I am 5 weeks pregnant - delighted, not counting chickens yet but really now the aim is to eat well and move well. Going to do a Friday weigh in as I did pre holidays, but I might be a little all over the show for a while.

Happy Monday all!

DuckWithOneWing · 26/09/2023 10:48

Had a good week last week and lost 3lbs so I'm happy! I did go to the seaside at the weekend and have fish and chips so this week might not be as good.

I went to Aldi last night for a change and found some interesting items - I had king prawns in a creamy pesto sauce which was delicious! It came frozen but in a pouch to steam in the microwave and was only about 150 calories. I had it with loads of veg and some cauliflower rice.

Well done @MrTiddlesTheCat

Welcome @Autumflower

Congratulations @peonym!

Echoes89 · 26/09/2023 11:08

Back from holiday, weighed my self straight away when I got home 13st 1lb 😥 however this was in the afternoon, I'd just eaten and wearing clothes, I usually weigh first thing in the morning without clothes for an accurate weigh in, so just under a week later and weighed 12st 10lbs this morning, I weighed straight away to make sure I didn't stick to the holiday eating habits and to keep me motivated this week to lose any holiday weight gain. Mini goal to get back down to 12st 3lbs which was my lowest a few months ago. Takes forever now to lose a lb now that I'm further down the weight loss journey, so would hope to be there by Christmas as that gives me 3 months, losing about half a lb a week roughly.
Bought some quick, healthy food to try keep me on track for a while. Feel like this last 2 st 4lbs is gonna take an awful long time to come off, but I keep remind myself that I've lost a lot already and haven't put all of it back on, if I don't keep going, that's where I'll end up. Just need to keep myself accountable

SW - 17st 3lbs
CW - 12st 10lbs
GW - 10st 6lbs

MrTiddlesTheCat · 26/09/2023 11:49

Congratulations @peonym I managed to stay exactly the same weight throughout my pregnancy. As my stomach got larger, my butt got smaller. Nobody even noticed I was pregnant. When I turned up with a baby they thought he was my teenaged daughter's. 😂

peonym · 26/09/2023 20:06

Thanks so much @MrTiddlesTheCat and @DuckWithOneWing

I lost 3 stone last pregnancy (not planned) so that would be a happy side effect to morning sickness lol.

chalkyc2 · 29/09/2023 12:14

Showing up for a weekly check in! Well done to everyone for showing up and all the losses and even (gains?!?) pregnancies @peonym 👶🏼!!

Managed to shift over a kilo this week which is the target. Mostly slightly by mistake as I've been at whole day work events the last 2 days when the only lunch options were full on carbs - I decided I couldn't bear to eat them so had to last the day on breakfast. I realise this sounds slightly unhinged but it's kind of part of the all or nothing mind set I seem to be in!! Anyway no harm done, 1.2kg down and finally today the scales slipped below 90kg to 89.8!! That's 28.6kg down. BMI still bloomin 33 but I'm fitting in size 16 jeans.

I've faltered at exactly this point before - this time 2 years ago. So I'm keeping going and keeping strong. 👊

Echoes89 · 29/09/2023 12:51

Slightly down weight wise since being back from holiday. Trying to keep protein fairly high and keep away from any takeaways, made lasagne for tonight (not super healthy but better than a takeaway) think I'll do roast dinner too this weekend, lots of veg and chicken. Trying to keep motivated and have something nice over the weekend so I'm not so tempted by going out to eat or order in takeaway. Literally within a lb of what I started this year, so need to get down a few lbs by Christmas if I want to see any change over the course of a year.

SW - 17st 3lbs
CW- 12st 9.25lbs
GW - 10st 3lbs

ShinyPikachu · 29/09/2023 13:47

Congrats @peonym

Well done @DuckWithOneWing - those prawns sound lovely. We don't have an Aldi near us and whenever I go through to one I never see anything I want. I'm a nightmare.

You've been doing brilliantly @Echoes89

Well done @chalkyc2

I've been having terrible sugar cravings this week. It's not something I crave often thankfully, usually just for a day or two every few months so hopefully it doesn't affect my loss.

I've been getting out walking a lot more. My main problem is that I study and work from home and sometimes I'll have lots of work one week so I don't have the chance to go out as much, but at the moment I don't have any work on so I've been getting out daily and trying to make the most of the break in my work. It depends on the weather too and we're apparently going to be getting some nicer weather over the next week so I'll definitely take advantage of that.

Well done, all.

I’m hanging on in there. Exercise has dropped off which I need to rectify. Food is back on track after a blip.

It’s hard
I seem to be binging
every time I try to diet ,I end up binging
I absolutely have to get a grip

MrTiddlesTheCat · 30/09/2023 07:50

1 kg down this week. Another week or two and I should be under 120 kg. Unimaginable a few months ago.

SW 140 kg
CW 121.9 kg

Hi @Autumflower It is hard. I’ve absolutely been there. Speaking about my own experience, and I don’t know how similar it is for you, it’s hard to break the cycle, hard to believe that things will ever change, hard to believe that we are capable of change, and hard to believe that we are worth it. Binging for me is a way of signalling my own defeat to myself - it’s long since ceased to bring any even fleeting pleasure. It makes me feel awful while I am doing it and yet I still feel the compulsion. It absolutely is a form of self harm and self sabotage for some of us, I’m convinced.

Is there anything you can do to get your head in the right space? Pick one goal and stick to it type thing? Maybe a good sleep routine, a certain number of steps per day or three meals and no snacks (don’t worry about meal composition right now, just practice having set meal times and no food outside those times)? That’s the type of thing I do to get back on track. Trying to do everything at once can be overwhelming. Just pick one goal at a time and build up?

PreesHeath · 30/09/2023 10:19

Well done @MrTiddlesTheCat !

SecondStarOnTheRight · 02/10/2023 19:50

Happy October!

Hope everyone had a good September.

I managed to lose 11lb over the last month.

I can't say that it's noticeable in anyway yet though, my clothes still feel the same and I dont think I look any different yet, bit I haven't really got any pre-diet photos to compare. I know that with having so much to lose, I'll need to lose a fair bit to be able to see a difference, but for curiosity, when did others start to see it for themselves?

SW: 21st 8lb
CW: 19st 4lb
LTD: 32lb

ShinyPikachu · 02/10/2023 20:35

Flowers to those struggling and well done to those who have been losing.

I lost 1.1lb this week and I think I'm feeling a difference in my chin, I've always been prone to a double chin even at my lightest, but I do feel I've lost a bit from there.

Hello all
2 good days sticking to 1500 calories and a daily swim.
I’ve just got the exercise bike out and ready to go .
I can’t believe how hard I find it just getting through each day with out binging .
ive been looking at buying a book on not binging ,but they all say ,not dieting is the way to stop the binge ..
intuitive eating, that’s a free for all for me
,and a reason why slimming world never worked for me …free food ,wowhay let’s eat..
why do the binge books think people binging are a normal weight and can therefore not diet …bizarre

DuckWithOneWing · 05/10/2023 13:24

Well done @SecondStarOnTheRight ! 11lbs is brilliant.

I'm not having a good week this week. I've lost all motivation. But I think I'm coming down with something so that's possibly why.

Sunshineandrainbow · 06/10/2023 08:11

Not had too bad a week here.
Apart from yesterday when I had half day leave at work and I went into treat myself mode!

chalkyc2 · 06/10/2023 08:38

Hey all - pretty good week here too. Hugs to those struggling. I've upped my exercise and that seems to have spurred me on and helped shift 1.2kg. I'm lucky enough to have a peloton so I've jumped on that most evenings.

So - scale victory - have hit 30kg loss. 23 to go!!

And some more important NSV - I've started my back to hockey course that I didn't know whether I could face and it's fun and no one seems aghast at my size and I can run around (ish) for an hour. Also - I can comfortably cross my legs on the train! And I bought a dress for a wedding in a size 14 - it's from Oliver Bonas which comes up big I think but still!!

Let's keep going team.
