I dare not step on the asod

Gensola · 04/11/2023 18:27

I briefly saw 129.6 on the scales then they went to 130! Bastards 😂

Happierwithouthim · 04/11/2023 19:07

That means 129.6 is in the near future for you I think, that's what I used to find when I was weighing daily for team rh

Saw a flash of 12st 1lbs this morning before it settled on 12st 4, it's coming though, how's everyone doing?

OP posts:
Gensola · 23/11/2023 22:43

I was 129 for a bit but have had a bad week and a half and back up to 130.5. Dreading my official weigh in with the pt tomorrow 😂
just been crazy at work with a lot of late nights.

Happierwithouthim · 23/11/2023 23:01

It's just a number gen how do you feel?
If work is crazy you're probably not able to stick to your routine of food and exercise properly, will work calm down?

OP posts:
lifelongfrugaleer · 24/11/2023 07:29

I’m doing ok fitness wise as being going spinning 4 mornings a week. No asod though
food hahaha lots of binge stress eating so at best I’m maintaining—not—

Gensola · 26/11/2023 08:09

Thanks @Happierwithouthim it will calm down a bit after this week hopefully, at least the evening events will! I’m actively looking to move workplaces to one with a less toxic culture.
Was back up to 131 last time I weighed. Hopefully will chip away at it and be back in the right direction soon.

life that’s brilliant with the spinning! Go you!!

Happierwithouthim · 26/11/2023 10:59

I'm an even 170 this morning.
Next weigh in will hopefully break this barrier & only 2.5lbs will bring me into a different stone bracket. I'm now lighter than bf for first time since we got together.

TMI alert 🚨
Woke at 6am with urgent need to go to loo, this is after 1 day of taking 2 metformin 500mg per day, I'm cautious of doing this again but it's what endocrinologist prescribed, pharmacist said to talk to him if I can't manage it so I'll see how it goes. Didn't take evening one yesterday as I was away from 11am - 1am.

Life spinning is meant to be great exercise I just hate it Grin

Gen interesting about toxic work culture, I think a colleague is not speaking to me after Friday, I'm not sure why & I'm not going to dwell on it either

Evening everyone hope we are all well. l didn't know we were posting here so am back to bore you ☺️
Have been busy doing loads in the house and with Mum and not been well but much better now . Over 3 weeks to Christmas want to get a bit off before then.
Am going to weigh each week because l have tried not weighing and that doesn't work either 😔
@Happierwithouthim have done so well 👏☺️. Can l just ask why you are on Metformin, sorry to be nosy ? My Mum is on it and has terrible diarrhoea from them . She has very late onset T2 Diabetes she was 90 when it was diagnosed and is extremely
well controlled .
@Gensola so sorry you have this horrible toxic work situation, it's so stressful & you are such a sweetheart 💐
@lifelongfrugaleer excellent job well done with the spinning 👏☺️

Happierwithouthim · 28/11/2023 17:29

MrsMad talk to your mums gp and get them to change to something else, there are other drugs out there that can be used to control diabetes.

Not nosey at all!

A few years ago I started to gain weight through no fault of my own, my gp suggested an injection for diabetes to control this but she thought I'd a medical card but I don't and we ruled it out because of the cost, she suggested Metformin instead and I took it and had those side effects like your dmum and incredible nausea too. After a few months I decided I couldn't continue on it and stopped. To be continued!

TheNewlmprovedMrsMadEvans · 28/11/2023 20:46

Thank you so much @Happierwithouthim 👏😊. l will get into her GP asap . The side effects of Metformin are horrible for her .

Happierwithouthim · 28/11/2023 22:15

Sorry only getting back to you now.
I went on ozempic 12 months ago and it agrees with me very well, it's a weekly injection. However I attended an endocrinologist last month & she says I've to use metformin in conjunction with ozempic to get rid of stubborn fat cells.
She said my post partum haemorrhages followed by zero rest to recover ten years ago caused by pituitary gland to stop working.

I do not have diabetes but if the weight gain continued I would most likely develop it.

Your mother should not have to suffer unnecessarily.

Happierwithouthim · 28/11/2023 22:16

Ozempic costs me €145 a month Shock but i hope not to be taking it long term

TheNewlmprovedMrsMadEvans · 29/11/2023 15:04

Omg @Happierwithouthim thank you for getting back to me but that's awful what happened to you . l am so sorry but what a marvelous thing for you to now be losing that weight with the right help . Your Consultant sounds amazing 👏😊

TheNewlmprovedMrsMadEvans · 29/11/2023 15:04

Happierwithouthim · 28/11/2023 22:16

Ozempic costs me €145 a month Shock but i hope not to be taking it long term

It's money well spent in my honest opinion 👏

Happierwithouthim · 29/11/2023 17:04

Yes it definitely is, because it was starting to affect my social life, I didn't want to go anywhere etc, and my health is improving with the weight loss too.

If I was diabetic it would be covered by HSE but I'm not and I'm grateful that I'm not.

168.5 Boom 💥

OP posts:
Gensola · 07/12/2023 07:18

Well done Happier! I’ve slipped into having a drink after work too many days (end of term is always a nightmare for this) so suspect I’ll have maintained at best.
hoping to have a good two weeks before Christmas and then maintain again.

lifelongfrugaleer · 07/12/2023 07:29

Bravo

not been well this week so nowt done

Happierwithouthim · 07/12/2023 08:47

I'd six bacardi on Sat night so I was sceptical if I would lose at all this week.

I've ramped up to two Metformin a day, I don't take two every day but maybe 4 days a week.

I'm the only adult in my house so drinking at home doesn't really happen a lot.

I'm actually giving away bottles of baileys and red wine that's in my house this weekend because I need a clearout and I'll get more as presents this year.

MaryGreenhill · 07/12/2023 16:15

Am struggling atm trying not to succumb to scoffing, it's not easy this time of the year is it!
Keeping going and weighed last week lost 3 lbs which l was very pleased about.
That's very generous of you to give away the wine and the Baileys @Happierwithouthim well done that is brilliant Xmas Smile
@lifelongfrugaleer hope you are feeling much better sweetheart Flowers
@Gensola it's hard to keep on the straight and narrow this time of the year it's so easy to think oh l willeat now then start again after Christmas but it's not ok we could put on a lot before Christmas so l am trying my best here too good luck for the 2 weeks prior to Christmas hope you workload gets much lighter for you Flowers
Take care everyone Xmas Smile

lifelongfrugaleer · 08/12/2023 08:49
