🍁LOSE IT! October 2022🍁12 WEEK COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS 🎄

Hello and Welcome

Following on from the LOSE IT! September Thread here’s October’s Thread.

Dare I say it’s officially the 12 Week Count Down to Christmas 🎄😬 There is still time (for those who want to) for a complete body/mind/fitness overhaul before the festivities and family get together commence 🥳 Plus, who doesn’t want to start 2023 feeling more energised, fitter and svelte!

Jump right into October! Reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself! Being mindful, planning ahead and few tweaks here and there it’s not impossible!

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating to LOSE or MAINTAIN. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable). It’s a journey, not a destination.

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. I try not to drink calories and have very little processed food or sugar. I meal plan, set my intentions daily and exercise most days.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why? You can do it, if you really want too!

I stayed the same this week albeit with a name change. Well done to everyone with their losses!

Allthegoodnamestakken · 19/10/2022 11:48

@ImALittlePea hope you're feeling better soon!
@fallfallfall your travels sound like they're going well! Hope you continue to enjoy them.
@Lizsmum congrats on the 11s its so nice seeing a new number on the scales isn't it!

Unsurprisingly I'm still 68kgs so that's 4 weeks I've been stuck here now. Very surprised I didn't gain though as I had dinner out on Friday, pizza on Saturday and Chinese on Sunday 🤦‍♀️ so I'll consider the fact I didn't gain a win.
Today's plan is
Lunch - tortilla pizza with peppers and rocket (which I've already eaten and still feeling starving but trying to hold out for dinner)
Dinner- roasted veg and Cumberland sausages
Exercise is a cross fit class so might have to have an afternoon snack before I go. Perhaps an egg and some fruit.

MirandaWest · 19/10/2022 12:51

Can’t remember when I last did a WOW but have today

SW 76.7kg
CW 68.55kg
TW 65 kg

Am plodding downwards gently and am OK with that.

Had a tooth out this morning which is never fun - DH is making soup for tonight!

CassandraBarrett · 19/10/2022 15:38

SW 64.4kg
CW 60.6kg
GW 59kg

I'm edging closer. No breakfast seems to make a difference so I'll keep skipping that (really it's the 16/8 plan I'm following almost inadvertently)

Cloudberries123 · 19/10/2022 16:58

Today's been OK foodwise:
Breakfast - peanut butter and banana on sunflower seed bread, coffee x2
Lunch - jacket potato
Dinner - tuna pasta bake with lots of veggies

@CassandraBarrett You are just around the corner from your goal weight! 😮

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 19/10/2022 17:18

Had tofu stir fry for dinner yesterday and cheese and branston pickle sandwich and Ryvita bites crisps things along with 3 quorn mini eggs and Dairylea triangles x 2 and then 2 satsumas in evening.

Today: Breakfast granola, blueberries, yogurt with drizzle of honey
lunch: Falafel and houmous wrap (425 calories) Tescos
Also had almost whole bag barbecue Pop chips, almost 420 calories?
and Twix.

Am blaming the dentist (temporary crown fitting) for lunch and snacks as I was out so had to buy them...

Having something with mashed potato tonight - not sure what but spinach will feature as veg.

Exercise - approx 20-30 minutes walking from bus stops and to dentist - car in for MOT - yippee - let's pray it passes!

@Lizsmum - wow - you've done really well to get to your CW from your SW. well done!

@ImALittlePea - I'm sort of similar to you - work has been stressful, not really feeling losing weight and all my hard work has gone out of the window. Need to get a nice Christmas outfit plus matching man (you can ignore the last part!) to spur me on!

Rewis · 19/10/2022 17:37

Just left the gym. #unpopularopinion but seriously. If you don't have the physical stretch to put down the bar and plates down quietly. Take off the fuckign weights. Or if you insist on dropping them on the floor, use the fucking area with the matts. Not the floor. Fucker.

Slightlystressedwife · 19/10/2022 18:04

@Rewis 100% with you. Our gym just got a new soft floor for the free weights area which helps but still.

Lizsmum · 19/10/2022 18:25

Thank you for the positive feedback.

@ImALittlePea I'm sorry that you're going through a rough time. Just keep reading even if you don't feel as if you're in the right place to post.
@GonnaGetGoingReturns Would a man matching your outfit need to be Santa or one of his gnomes? Doesn't sound good to me!
@Slightlystressedwife You've done amazingly well - I hadn't realised that you'd lost so much altogether.

Rewis · 19/10/2022 18:31

Slightlystressedwife · 19/10/2022 18:04

@Rewis 100% with you. Our gym just got a new soft floor for the free weights area which helps but still.

This is my work gym so it's very basic but it would have some softer flooring if the wanker would have taken one step forward. But no. Had to be on the floor. And then the other corner where he used the dumbells and was grunting loudly he sweated on the floor and didn't clean up. I could hear it in the locker room behind 2 doors and a small hall Gave him a dirty look but didnt say anythng since I'm pretty sure he was one of the untouchable wanker doctors.

My other pet peeve in the commercial gym that I soemtiem train are the assholes taking pictures and videos (of themselves). Argh. I need more money so I can have a bigger house so I can never leave. End of rant.

Rewis · 19/10/2022 18:32

Well done everyone some good numbers 🙌🏻

fallfallfall · 20/10/2022 03:41

Eewwww some lovely little losses :).
well done everyone even if it’s for being more aware.
handhold and tea LittlePea.
not so much walking today; still over 10,000 steps but my hips are clearly telling me 19,000’s a bit much.
water again a problem. Authentic sechwan (spelling attempt so bad even autocorrect doesn’t recognize it…) which will be very dehydrating I need to do better tomorrow!
I bought a new raincoat, snug around the hips; measured in eclairs. I’ve got about 2 eclairs worth of room.

CrimsonAlligator · 20/10/2022 09:33

Morning all! I didn’t check in yesterday, or weighed myself as I have yet another stinking cold. All intentions to eat well went out of the window.

Well done to everyone who registered a loss yesterday! I’m glad that my theory that it’s actually difficult to gain if you’ve hit a plateau is holding up 😅 I wouldn’t like to have had anyone else’s gains on my conscience.

Sorry to hear you’re going through a difficult time @ImALittlePea. Look after yourself and if that means eating a little bit more than usual, try not to worry about it. Health comes first 🤗

TheRealHousewife · 20/10/2022 10:48

Good Morning All

Yesterdays WOW - down a 1lb from my recent 2lb gain. Hoping for the remaining 1lb to be gone by next WOW 😬 I’m sure when it gets colder our bodies try to lay down more fat!

You’re most welcome @GonnaGetGoingReturns . I ❤️ all you ladies!

@Cloudberries123 IMO no one would win the shall I/sharnt I tussle with Chocolate Eclairs. I remember they were the most delicious of cream buns (pre celiac diagnosis) If I was going to go off piste it would defo be with a CE!

Hi @fallfallfall sounds like you are being very active! Well done 👍 The raincoat will get more loose as you walk you way to fitness 😬

@milkfromthesleepycow @Jammymare @MirandaWest @Lizsmum @Slightlystressedwife @CassandraBarrett

@RadFad @XanaduKira @Allthegoodnamestakken

@wannadisc0 Thats a very slight gain … a robust fart would see that off 😬

@ImALittlePea Sending a huge hug! Sorry to read your update and it makes me feel helpless in that I can’t help in any way. Don’t fret about your diet as it sounds like you need to batten down the hatches and do what you can to get through it all. Life’s tough at times. Just know we are rooting for you ❤️

@Rewis I’m with you on that one. Excessive noise is so unsettling. Tends to make me anxious and jumpy.

@CrimsonAlligator Hope the cold gets better soon!

Menu
Meal 1 - Minestrone Soup. GF thin. 2 Brazil nuts. 1 orange.
Meal 2 - Tarragon chicken in mushroom and leek sauce. Carrots & peas.
Tea, black coffee & water.

Exercise
Session 1 - Stretching
Session 2 - Floor exercises

Remember everyone no matter what your plan, ultimately it’s creating the calorie deficit that does it. With higher protein, lower carbs ways of eating the protein seems to sustain you more so you don’t miss the calorie short fall or reach for snacks. Water is important too. So stay hydrated.

Enjoy Your day everyone. Apologies if I’ve missed anyone, there was a lot of posts to get through 😬

Crumbs I name checked some ladies and forgot to write the message 🤣

In a nutshell I wanted to say congratulations and say well done for your losses and sts is positive too 👍👏🏅

Cloudberries123 · 20/10/2022 10:55

@fallfallfall Unfortunately, I thought I had about 2 éclairs worth of room in my tummy! I'm sure your coat will fit soon with all that walking.

@TheRealHousewife congrats on being halfway through your gain! I don't envy you the slow loss of pounds when you get so close to your goal...

TheRealHousewife · 20/10/2022 11:21

@Cloudberries123 Im ok with it as last year/earlier this year I was so long at a plateau that I thought I’d reached my bodies set point in the upper 9s. I adjusted my goal weight upwards and assumed I was in maintenance. Then I started losing again 🤷‍♀️ in real terms I’m happy to be in the 9’s wether it be upper or lower. Although if I’m honest I prefer lower as that way I feel I have wiggle room 😬

OP posts:
Cloudberries123 · 20/10/2022 17:39

@TheRealHousewife Wiggle room to fit (gf) éclairs in your jacket!

Vikki7 · 20/10/2022 18:17

SW 80.8kg
CW 79.5kg
TW 68kg

Lost 0.6kg this week. Felt like I could have done better but it's TOTM so a bit more swollen etc.

I'll take it and hope for better next week. Congrats to everyone else who has done well :-)

SanFranBear · 20/10/2022 20:30

Sorry I've been quiet - my world seems so busy at the moment, can't catch my breathe... and DD has a friend over for e day sleepover due to family circumstances which doesn't help! Felt a bit bad as friend clearly didn't like my stir-fry this evening - leaving all the tasty veg behind 😟 Having one of my lower calorie days today so wanted something quite light and healthy for tea but got more child friendly food for the weekend though, with burgers tomorrow and pizza on Saturday - she won't starve!

Some great losses and STS this week, even if not what was hoped for! I made it out for my WoW yesterday and ended up traipsing through the dark again - I thought my route was very street based but did end up going cross-country again! I mean - noone will be lurking in the middle of a field on the off chance a dopey woman strolls past at 8pm but can feel a little unsettling!

Chocolate éclairs... I can never have just one so don't tend to buy them - and I'm the same with the sweets.. everyone moans about them in Heroes (or is it Celebrations) but they're my favourite choice!

Hugs (if you're a hugger), LittlePea! I hope whatever is causing you pain starts to ease really soon - will be thinking of you!

SanFranBear · 20/10/2022 20:31

3 day sleepover... not sure what an e day would consist of??!

TheRealHousewife · 20/10/2022 21:02

@Cloudberries123 🤣🤣🤣🤣

@Vikki7 A loss is a loss. Well done, you’re on your way 👍👏

@SanFranBear Do be careful out wandering after dark. Do you have anyone tracking you/apple air tagged so they know where to look if you unexpectedly became I’ll or injured?

OP posts:
SanFranBear · 20/10/2022 23:11

Thanks for your concern, RealHousewife - my DD has me on Life360 and knows when I'm out and two friends have me on Google Maps so could track me very easily... I don't always give them the heads up when I'm going out though so must remember to do that! Even though I'm not out late, it's amazing how quickly night comes down!

milkfromthesleepycow · 21/10/2022 05:57

@SanFranBear an e day sleepover is where the kids stay up all night playing video games and then sleep until way after lunch. I remember them fondly from my teenage years 😉

Allthegoodnamestakken · 21/10/2022 07:32

Some exciting progress on the scales today, They have moved downward to 67.5, fingers crossed after a month of no change I will start to see loses again. I went up a weight in cross fit to the 15kg kettlebell and bar so perhaps that was the answer Hmm couldn't move my arms or legs the next day though. My coach tells us that 15kg is considered the minimum weight women should use to compete. Luckily I have no desire to compete because that thing is heavy!
