☀️THE SUMMER COUNTDOWN THREAD 2 ☀️

Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself in time for a Sizzling Summer!

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating to LOSE or MAINTAIN. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day.

I very much did enjoy my takeaway, CrimsonAlligator - and it was surprisingly tasty and filling so kept within my calorie limit which was great.

That photo looks fab, Gin - I'd forgotten you were over for the D-Day celebrations. The 6th of the 6th was my dear departed Dad's birthday, born in 1939 so just before the outbreak of war. Would love to see some more pics, if you have them!

Sorry to hear you're still not 100%, Benji. I didn't suffer too much, even when positive, but my taste and smell is still fuckered which is so frustrating. Hope you feel better this week!

Your roast sounds delicious, RealHousewife - so many tasty veggies! I was making Pinch of Nom Coq au Vin (which is so tasty and low in calories) but due to pizza yesterday, well have the chilli beef I was due to make instead.

Have made some Prune & Pecan muffins as well today - and munched one as, TMI, I am not moving as I should below. Probably not enough water but I also think my few days off-piste has meant my body has gone into a bit of shock last week. Might explain my slight gain on Friday 😉!

Hope everyone else is having a nice weekend - best get off my butt and do the dull chores I've got waiting for me. Never ends, does it!!

So today I had
B- dry fried egg with sautéed mushrooms on seedy toast
L- homemade hummus with salad and a rice cake, apple
D roast chicken with green vegetables and a few small herby potatoes, plum

161.6 this am.
my calorie allowance for the day was minus my overage from yesterday (50 calories)
there are several you tube tutorials on how to use the program...i need to figure a few things out.

Argh... really snacky day which is unlike me (well, unlike the New Me!) but I'm just hungry today. I'm within my daily allowance - just - but will head to bed shortly to try and stave off the cravings! Had three decent meals today too....

Not a good day
I was entertaining a friend for lunch who is a very good cook and a very generous host. So I did my best to provide a lovely but low calorie starter, main and pudding. And pre lunch nibbles. And wine.

It wasn't all that delicious but I think it was still way over what I should have eaten.
Wednesday is still 2 days away .....

Maintaining steadily at 11 stone 5.5. OK, 3.5 lbs above my low of 11.2, but doing it without having to think about it too much, if that makes sense? Food still good, although portions creeping up. Still no biscuits / sweet stuff, except cake on special occasions. Occasional nose-dive into crisps, but no buying any more so can't have. My alcohol is my concern - and what I will tackle head-on. Exercise still good, incl bike riding.

Will catch-up on thread in a bit - but lovely to "see" you all. Caught quick glimpse of lovely food and beaches from Normandy Gin. Hope you had a great trip. Thanks again TheRealHousewife for thread

@Lizsmum I’m sure you’re guest found your hosting very nice 👌 It’s always lovely when someone cooks for us. Plus sometimes socialising and connecting is more important than counting calories. Like you say Wednesday is 2 days away.

Hello! So first day back, but no food in the house so it's a double pasta day! Meals planned for the rest of the week though, and no more croissants!!

Morning! I seem to be stuck at 9st 9lb at the moment. Mind you I'm not putting loads of effort into losing just now so maybe I'm just stabilising here for a while?

I'm doing 6 days at work this week 😱 got tomorrow off then in every day for 8 days 😭😭

I'm going to take some food with me today so I don't end up buying crap at work. Not sure what to have as a simple filling meal that I don't have to heat up. Probably pasta with something...

Morning all! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I had a reasonably active weekend, family walk, boot faired yesterday so a lot of lifting and shifting boxes up and down stairs, in and out to car etc. Didn't drink Saturday (very unusual for me!) but made up for that yesterday 🤦‍♀️

Hope you had a lovely holiday @ginsparkles I am such a Francophile! We are going to France in the summer (if my youngest's passport arrives in time - gah the anxiety!) and I cannot wait for the hypermarche, le pain, le fromage, les tomates, le vin... Oh mon dieu!

We've got a little UK staycay next week though so trying to keep on track between now and then.

Today's plan:
L - cup-a-soup, veggies, greek yogurt and pomegranate
D - crushes roasted newies, Quorn nuggets and peas

Morning.

I've decided to do smoothies instead juices as the juicer is too faffy and takes ages to clean. Should have a similar effect, and possibly better as smoothies keep all the fibre.

Today I'm planning on smoothies only, but if its not enough calories for me and I feel woozy ill have porridge too.

My aim is 3 days of smoothies only, I suspect this will be about 800 cals. Other days 2 light meals a day along with a smoothie, and normal eating at weekend (I have guests up for weekend).

Unfortunately every weekend for the next few weeks is going to be impossible to calorie count as I have weddings, hen do, a holiday, friends family coming etc. I'll try to make smart decisions but not be restrictive. But to compensate I'll have to really watch what I eat through the week.
