Starting tomorrow, I need to lose roughly three stone, and generally sort myself out.

I am a mess 😀

Going to do my long run with the dogs today. In the rain. As husband off too and it's just going to be harder the rest of the week while ds is off. No idea what meal plans for the day are yet. Lunch probably chicken salad as it's lots of protein and some bulk to fill me up etc. Protein bar with my coffee later. Think Ds wants pasta for dinner but that's fine, it fits if I'm not stupid the rest of the day. Not much that will distract me in the cupboards at the moment.

bella1426 · 04/04/2022 09:54

Morning all, new week let's go 💪💪💪
My plan for the day

Breakfast : black coffee (usually skip breakfast unless planning a run and fast until 12)
Lunch : big salad with spinach tomato cucumber capers olives roast peppers tuna and feta
Afternoon snacks : apple, protein shake with almond milk and frozen berries, pecans with coconut shavings
Dinner : homemade lamb curry with roast cauliflower, frozen grapes
Exercise : lunchtime dog walk

My main aim for the week is to remain off the chocolate and sugar and get over the sugar detox hump - have a great week everyone x

Morning all! I am aching all over today, I didn’t think I was working too hard in that yoga session but my shoulders beg to differ today! I loved my walk yesterday, going back to the same place today with the dog and maybe the kids if they can manage to get the energy together to come with me.
What do we think about weighing every day? I find it keeps me motivated and on track but it does hurt when it goes back up for no reason..! Today I am 3lbs less than yesterday but obviously that won’t be fat loss, still felt good though.

madambutterbap · 04/04/2022 10:31

Well what can I say, yesterday was a total disaster. I was really upset seeing my weight on the scales, so of course the sensible thing to do was to stuff my face all day long.

Anyway, feeling better about things today and I am going to be good. Very good!

Had a full body sort out this morning, I'm shaved, plucked, exfoliated and moisturised, hair and face mask plus toe nails painted. I'm exhausted 😂

Morning all, my plan today is to meal plan for the week and keep to my no crisps goal.

Also to drink lots of water which I know will help keep me on track. I am also going to leave my desk every hour or so and go for a 5 min walk.

Good luck all

Harrysmummy246 · 04/04/2022 10:56

@madambutterbap

I don't think I can recommend going to look at Jordan Syatt enough.

One of his key points is 'you can't f* this up'.... And learning to just see the scales as data rather than letting it affect our whole day (yep, that one still needs work here).

Harrysmummy246 · 04/04/2022 10:57

Oh, and I've just done my miserable grey windy run with the dogs. It did not feel as good as runs last week.
Hot cross buns for breakfast and about to have a protein bar with my coffee- I really struggle with 'enough' protein.

bella1426 · 04/04/2022 12:09

@madambutterbap that is a full mornings work! You could actually turn being groomed and glammed into a full time job and many do! Not as easy to be toned trim and glam with a job and no army of nannies though 🙈

bella1426 · 04/04/2022 12:13

@MooPointCowsOpinion yoga is more hardcore than you think it is at the time! That's why I love it and so good for remaining injury free too. I personally weigh every morning but try not to put too much emphasis on that day as I can fluctuate within a 5lb range over the week which isn't obviously all fat and can be hormones, bloat etc but I do find it keeps me on track a bit more to keep an eye on the general trend of going up or down

OutofControl3 · 04/04/2022 12:15

Hello hope everyone is OK, I had a good day yesterday but I did eat the chicken skin Blush it was calling My name. Its freezing today don't think I can get my children out but I am running around doing housework so will put extra effort in. My asda shop coming today so will have fridge full of fruit and low calorie foods. I am however eating the same teas as my family but I am giving myself a smaller portion I'm hoping this will work as if I eat totally different that's when I fail.

AllOfTheDwarves · 04/04/2022 12:24

Please can I join? Been to the nurse for my pill check this morning and am horrified - I'm the heaviest I've ever been so it needs to go. I'd like to lose 2 stone. I usually (been here before obviously!!) start very low cal for a few days to kick start some weight loss so aiming for 3 lbs off this week. I'm usually quite 'good' at losing weight but terrible at maintaining!

moggerhanger · 04/04/2022 12:27

Afternoon all! I'm going to try a walk later - running will have to wait a while! I've also made a big tub of what I call Virtue Salad. It's basically chopped up things that I can dig into for meals or a snack. The best bit is that anything can go into it. The current batch has a small amount of finely diced red onion, chopped pepper, grated carrot, sliced black olives, capers, chopped cooked beetroot, halved cherry toms, chopped cucumber, a few raisins, a tin of chick peas, chilli flakes and toasted cumin seeds. Dressing is salt, lemon juice, balsamic vinegar and a drizzle of olive oil (about a tbsp for the whole mix). If you leave it for a few hours before eating then the flavours meld together really nicely. It keeps happily in the fridge for 2-3 days.

LittleZombie · 04/04/2022 12:31

Going well so far today.
Breakfast - coffee.
Lunch - Greek salad, chicken satay, melon.

Need to look at a long term sustainable change then? Maintaining is, after all, what you hope to do for the rest of your life.

And I think the general experience is the faster weight comes off, the faster it goes back on.

LndnGrl · 04/04/2022 18:10

I haven't had a good day. It started well!

I did my bootcamp class and then did a few of my steps on my cross trainer. I had a slice of Spanish omelette (cauliflower instead of potato) with a little bit of cheese on top, spinach and cherry tomato salad and a couple of slices of ham. I fried these and they came out like bacon but so fewer calories.

Then I did a few more steps, went to the shop for a gas bottle and bought a packet of no added sugar chocolate chip cookies, which I ate all of with a cup of tea.

I did more steps, had a few monkey nuts, a banana and a bit of peanut butter.

I've got one more bottle of water to drink and them I've hit my 3 litre goal. I've done my 10k steps.

Now I've got soup for dinner but I'm really tempted to make a few dumplings to go in it 😂

OstrichFeathers · 04/04/2022 18:31

I've managed to keep under my 1400 calories today which is great especially after yesterday's debacle. I had a long walk with the dog early this morning which definitely sets me up better. Work was really busy early on meaning I didn't get to eat until 1pm, no bad thing (my usual 8:16 starts about 11.30). I had really bad nightmares/stress dreams again last night which is annoying. And I've a late meeting starting at 7.30 which has the potential to go on forever and it will be hard to resist a glass of wine after it!

@moggerhanger that salad sounds lovely, I must do something similar.

@madambutterbap, I'm always so impressed by people who take the time to really pamper themselves in whatever way works for them. I need to do that a bit more. I think I'm going to take a few days off after the easter holidays when the kids are back at school so I can actually enjoy a bit of peace and quiet to indulge myself...

bella1426 · 04/04/2022 18:42

@LndnGrl that would be me with the cookies too 🙈 last week I bought two boxes of low calorie chocolate bars/biscuits. I just ate them all 🙄 stupid amount of calories in the end. Good work on all the exercise though

bella1426 · 04/04/2022 18:47

Anyone got any good food tips? @moggerhanger I love the sound of that salad, so many of my favourite ingredients, must give it a try

Two things which have been really helpful for me are

  1. cauliflower - cut half a head into small, almost popcorn sized pieces and roast for half an hour with some olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic and chilli until a little bit charred. Makes a fab side to curry, chilli, salmon & brocollo, roast dinner...pretty much replaces any carb

  2. frozen grapes. I pop ten seedless grapes in the freezer in the morning and have them after dinner. They're almost like a sorbet/palette cleanser and help with that craving to eat something sweet after a savoury meal

OstrichFeathers · 04/04/2022 19:00

I like that grapes idea, bella1426. My tip is peppermint tea. I find it much better than just water for when I want to eat something but I'm not actually hungry.

@LndnGrl, your name sparked something in the back of my brain, and I've just been down a London Boys YouTube rabbit hole! (For anyone unfamiliar with, or who like me had forgotten, these titans of late 1990s europop, I give you this gem -

Harrysmummy246 · 04/04/2022 19:02

@bella1426

I'm not cutting anything out exactly, more moderating what I do have- so If I have coffee and cake while in town with DH, I am then more careful rest of day. I have a mindset thing that if it's not allowed it's more tempting then I more or less binge. Oh and I have to log it in MFP. If I don't want to, I probably don't want to eat it that much.
It's working but I'm not trying to do anything fast, hence sticking to approx 1900 cal, which is deficit for me

OutofControl3 · 04/04/2022 19:30

Hello iv logged things on mfp and I'm at 1390 so am happy with that also I have drank a tonne on water. Guess what I did this afternoon......baking with the children cookies/choc cake/shortbread my achievement is that I didn't eat any! Whoo

CaptainCallisto · 04/04/2022 19:34

I've had a good day so far. Hit my 10,000 steps (and a bit more) and have eaten really well. Had porridge for breakfast with mixed spice and half a teaspoonful of muscovado sugar, an apple at break time, ham salad with a tablespoon of coleslaw and natural yoghurt with blueberries for lunch, and then beef and vegetable stew for tea. I've also hit my 1.5l water target for the day.

I'm 600 calories below my goal for the day so will have a slice of toast with marmite once the kids are in bed in an attempt to stave off the evening grazing!

frostedfruits · 04/04/2022 19:45

Ive been really good today but I've finished all my planned foods and I'm so sooooo hungry right now Sad

Harrysmummy246 · 04/04/2022 19:49

Guess which idiot didn't remember to add apples to the grocery delivery this week having just fancied one and been reasonably on point all day (not getting into calling it good or bad).

LndnGrl · 04/04/2022 20:10

I had healthier biscuits in the cupboard though 😖 but it's done now, I just have to move on and hope it's not put me back in the 190's or my blood sugar up. Which I bet it has 🙄

But I'll have a better day tomorrow.
