Hey everyone. With a fresh bout of illness in the house and a baby with sleep regression I've been using calories for energy where I'm lacking sleep. I've not managed to stand on the scales before breakfast for two weeks to weigh myself but based on afternoons I reckon I'm loitering around 9st 7/8 ish.

I did manage to take my start of month body picture and have the most visible change yet, albeit slight. I'm no lighter than last month though 🤷🏼‍♀️.

Welcome new people, my sleep deprived brain can't remember your user names between the reading and replying screens!

Glad to hear you're on the mend @morningmaeve and you're not too jet lagged @Knittingnanny2

That afternoon tea looks amazing @WellTidy, I do love an afternoon tea, especially alone. I like to savour the it along with the silence on the rare occasions I get to do it.

Happy belated birthday @Sooverthemill and a wave to swimming and purple.

Hello, can I join in? I’m 5’2 (sometimes 5’1 on a short day!) and currently 10st 6lb. I really hate how I look at this weight, and it’s hard to explain to taller people that this is a lot to weigh for me. I was in the high 9st bracket for my wedding in 2020 (after a couple of months with a personal trainer), but really around 9st or 9 and a half or under is the long term goal. I’m still a size 10/12 but I’m pushing it in the waist department, my size 12 jeans are getting tight now and I don’t want it to get worse.

However, it is a bit complicated. We’re going through IVF. I’ve found the emotional side of it very hard and motivation to keep up exercise regimes/diets the last couple of years has been difficult. So at the moment my plan is to calorie count and keep active, whilst still eating healthily, but obviously I’m aware the IVF might work and my weight loss plans might be out the window. At the same time, I can’t wait for something that might never happen so I’m trying to shift some of what I’ve gained over the last couple of years. I lose and gain slowly, although gain a bit faster now I’m late 30s.

I just got back from holiday, was on week 2 of couch to 5k before I left, planning to restart soon.

WellTidy · 08/04/2022 14:35

Hello @thislittlebird and welcome, good luck with your journeys

Friday weigh-in, folks! I am yet again 9st 6lb. I think I’ve lost and gained the same half a pound for 2-3 weeks. I am still walking a lot but too many treats have crept in and I am a couple of pounds shy of what I’d hoped I’d be at Easter. I don’t have the cushion I’d hoped for!

thislittlebird · 09/04/2022 08:13

Thanks for the welcome @WellTidy. You sound like you’re making great progress!

Sooverthemill · 09/04/2022 08:15

No news, checking in

morningmaeve · 09/04/2022 10:07

Checking in - still the same weight and still testing positive for covid (day 9) but feeling okay. Have a good weekend all.

morningmaeve · 09/04/2022 10:08

And welcome @thislittlebird Smile

Knittingnanny2 · 09/04/2022 10:39

@Morningmaeve I did a test yesterday as feel rough with sore throat and runny nose but it was negative. Hope you are on the mend
I was very disappointed with the Thornton s chocolate cake I bought for Mrknittingnanny birthday tea party with the grandchildren so I only had a tiny piece! I usually make cakes but ran out of time!
Afternoon tea tomorrow so I’ll mindfully eat the rest of the day

Knittingnanny2 · 09/04/2022 10:40

Hello to @thislittlebird

Sooverthemill · 09/04/2022 11:43

@Knittingnanny2 @Morningmaeve I think I may have covid ( and DD too). DH was really unwell for 2 days this week and on Thursday I started feeling absolutely awful. All the symptoms. Negative tests so far but it seems it takes a few days for it to show up

Chocolatefreak · 09/04/2022 15:18

Weighed myself this morning and despite two weeks of throwing restraint to the winds, including a weekend away, parties, having a Ukrainian couple with us so cooking two hot meals a day and drinking every evening, I appear to have lost a kilo and a half. It now looks like I weigh 63.5kg.

So all of the careful calorie recording and alcohol avoiding I was doing before appears to have been in vain!

morningmaeve · 09/04/2022 19:59

@Sooverthemill I had symptoms two days before I tested positive. Hope you and your DD feel better soon.

Sooverthemill · 11/04/2022 08:44

Thanks @Morningmaeve. I think I felt ill Thursday afternoon first . Wondering whether to use a PCR ( we have stock as two of us are CEV). Very concerned about DD much more than myself

WellTidy · 11/04/2022 09:05

If you can test, then do @Sooverthemill. My parents were unwell with all the normal virus type symptoms for two weeks before they tested positive. They’re fine, but my mum is keeping a close eye on my dad as any coughs/colds always lead to chest infections for him. Wishing you the best.

I am 9st 4.75lb today which is great. If hovered at around 9st 6lb for a few weeks, so a different number is nice to see.

Well done on the loss @Chocolatefreak! Let’s keep going!

Knittingnanny2 · 14/04/2022 13:34

Just had a broken tooth out under sedation ( most nervous patient in the world) and had to be weighed to get the right dose. Fully clothed was 9 st 1 so not too bad as I thought I’d put on more than that
So on a new drive to get back down to 8.10-12

Morningmaeve · 14/04/2022 13:44

I'll join you in that attempt @Knittingnanny2 - I'm 9 stone 1lb but that's without clothes!

Knittingnanny2 · 15/04/2022 10:35

On soft food for 2 or 3 days so that might help!
Unless I liquidise the Easter eggs......

WellTidy · 15/04/2022 11:54

Friday weigh in. I am up a pound on the middle of the week to 9st 5.75lb. Which means that I haven’t lost anything for over three weeks. I think I need to reduce calories further, or reduce carbs, neither of which sound fun Grin

Sooverthemill · 16/04/2022 09:35

Not really doing much as still definitely under the weather
But I weighed myself this morning when I got up and had lost 3 lbs since last week. Didn’t do anything to lose it and haven’t done any exercise not even yoga

Sooverthemill · 19/04/2022 08:36

Really busy weekend with both adult kids here with their partners but thanks they didn't sleep here ( it adds so much complexity to DDs care) and DS cooked the lamb I had ordered pre illness and brought it over all ready to serve. They swam and walked and chatted it was lovely to see them. They turned out okay!
However, 2 days of actual lunches mean I think .6 of a pound increase today but I'm relaxed about that

purplegirl13 · 20/04/2022 10:37

Hello! I'm creeping back in after life got in the way of my weight loss attempts. I went to spend a week with friends by the seaside (takeaways/wine) and few days with friends in Cambridge (more wine) and I'm going in to the office a few days a week so the novelty of lunches out with colleagues plus morning coffees/pastries have all been my downfall! Not too mention a few IBD blips resulting in white carb diet every now and then.

So today:
B - cappuccino
L - crackers, goats cheese, cherry tomatoes with a large drizzle of olive oil
S - cucumber & houmous
D - chickpea and cauliflower curry with rice

Lunch doesn't doesn't sound like much but I need to go grocery shopping!

I need to catch up on posts but I hope you are all doing well x

purplegirl13 · 21/04/2022 14:10

ok, I mostly stuck to plan yesterday except for the addition of an apple and peanut butter - for the same calories, I could have eaten cake but I need to get myself out of eating what I want when I want. Calories all tracked yesterday and came to nearly 1700

Today:
B - cappuccino
L - scrambled eggs on rye toast, with cherry tomatoes and some goats cheese
D - tofu stir-fry (no rice/noodles)
cals: roughly 1100 but thats without counting any soy/chilli sauce for dinner. I'm also planning on an ice lolly which will be about 70-90cals

How is everyone else getting on? I hope it is nice and sunny where you are!

purplegirl13 · 21/04/2022 14:13

This is what I looking forward to trying later!

neverenoughchelseboots · 21/04/2022 14:57

We've all been very quiet recently, I assume we've been preoccupied with Easter eggs and buttery hot cross buns.

I'm hovering around 9.5 stone still and have been for weeks. But I thought I looked slimmer in the mirror last week and then DH said my dungarees looked too baggy and MIL came over and asked if the DS was upping his milk intake because I look visibly different. So it wasn't wishful thinking on my part.

Not much else to report really, my holiday is in two weeks and I'm at my original goal weight, but not the more ambitious one I then changed to.

Hope everyone is well and that you've thoroughly enjoyed all your socialising Purple.

Sooverthemill · 21/04/2022 19:39

Yes I e been busy but now am utterly knackered. Reduced my calorie intake this evening by dropping our dinner on the floor! Managed to save the approximately half that was still in the pan while dog ate it off the floor and DH filled up with cheese afterwards. Probably not a tactic to repeat

anyone else not posting much elsewhere on MN because of the site issues?
