I hate creme eggs, that fondanty stuff does nothing for me. Don’t much like icing on cakes either!

Dark chocolate ginger biscuits are my biggest weakness.

Pommelegible · 25/03/2022 19:48

I also meant to say I do like these even though they have a fondanty filling not dissimilar to crème egg in texture, I think the cherry and alcohol make them less sickly!

Knittingnanny2 · 26/03/2022 05:53

@Sooverthemill I could eat 6 now as long as I was in an air con room! I’m going to save calories for some over the Easter weekend/week/month.....

Knittingnanny2 · 26/03/2022 05:54

Happy Mother’s Day tomorrow especially you busy actively parenting mums of little ones with no maids x

neverenoughchelseboots · 26/03/2022 11:05

That's very topical knittingnanny. It's our last day of holiday and therefore last day of having a nanny. What a luxury it's been! And DD has loved all the attention.

I've just packed up my skis early and am making use of my final few hours by having lunch and a glass of wine on my own. In silence. Ahhhhh.

Then back to the real world tomorrow.

Knittingnanny2 · 26/03/2022 13:28

So I just have to tell you in advance of my calorie intake tomorrow....... can anyone guess where I’m going at 4.30 pm for posh afternoon tea with mr knittingnanny? Remember I’m still in Singapore.....

Morningmaeve · 26/03/2022 14:12

Raffles?! @Knittingnanny2

purplegirl13 · 26/03/2022 17:32

I was going to ask if you'd had a cocktail at Raffles yet!

TheRealProfessorYaffle · 27/03/2022 07:59

Have been lurking along side this thread, and had my first weigh in after a fortnight of following the Fast 800 (initial 800 cals a day period). Have gone from 9st 3 to 8st 11.6. Hallelujah! Lovely to join xxx

Knittingnanny2 · 27/03/2022 13:10

Here I am prior to consuming about one million calories!

Sorry , blame the heat and my sugar filled brain!

Sooverthemill · 27/03/2022 14:47

@Knittingnanny2that looks fabulous. Always wanted to go to raffles.
I have a mini version of this later as DD has treated me to a vegan cream tea for Mother's Day. I shall enjoy and start again tomorrow

Chocolatefreak · 28/03/2022 07:52

Morning everyone. All my good intentions went out of the window this weekend with multiple meals out, alcohol and chocolate. Daren't even weigh myself this morning. This week coming will also be difficult as we have guests, which means more cooking and food around in general, then staying with my sister next weekend to celebrate my brother in law's 40th. I suppose I'll just have to ignore the next few days as a lost cause and to start again next week.

WellTidy · 28/03/2022 09:49

The afternoon tea looks great @Knittingnanny2. It looks lovely and cool in there too. I went to Raffles in my mid 20s when I was travelling as I wanted a Singapore Sling in the bar. Fancied myself rotten doing that, despite then having to eat at the side of a road for dinner as the Singapore sling basically took up the daily food and drink budget!

The weight loss somehow continues. I am 9st 5.75lb today despite scones (Delia) with jam and cream mid afternoon at home yesterday and pizza hot delivery for Mother’s Day. Walking for two hours today in a bid for that not to catch up with me!

@Chocolatefreak please don’t lose heart. Wanting to lose weight rarely means a straight line downwards Flowers

Knittingnanny2 · 28/03/2022 11:56

Indian high tea today at the home of a lovely lady I met three years ago hear randomly in a shop! So more food.......

Here not hear , this hot, sweaty retired teacher can spell honestly!
One maid down here due to illness so I am a supply maid tomorrow

Sooverthemill · 28/03/2022 13:22

@Knittingnanny2 that Indian high tea seems wonderful

neverenoughchelseboots · 28/03/2022 14:17

Knittingnanny it looks like a fabulous trip!

Welltidy our twinning days are over after being in sync for so long. My scales were very rude this morning, instead of registering my weight on the app, a pop up asked to confirm it was me on the scales because I'd put so much weight on!

9st 11.5 today. That's 6lb gain in the Last couple of weeks. My May beach holiday target isn't looking good. That was what a week of eating meat and drinking wine did to me. And I didn't even drink more than a couple of glasses a night.

Weelegs29 · 28/03/2022 20:12

Hey shorties just checking in and catching up with everyone's updates! I didnt have a loss last week but hoping I can make up for it this week. My car is in the garage for repairs so I'm pounding the pavements to work and back this week, 5 mile round trip each day so hopefully the scales will thank me even though I know my poor legs won't! Good luck everyone for the week ahead

neverenoughchelseboots · 28/03/2022 20:14

I've just found a meal planning thread with loads of good inspo on there. I'd say more than half are vegetarian so great to pick up ideas. So whilst I'm thinking of it I thought I'd post here as most are fairly healthy.

Tonight I did a Mac and cheese sort of pasta bake but instead of doing loads of cheese on top to make it crisp, I used flaked almonds. It works really well. I also added lots of brocolli and DD ate some of the 'fluffy bits'! And she asked for some of my salmon a few days ago. It's so nice to see her try things, it's been a long time since she last did.

T - teriyaki salmon and vegetable kebab skewers with sweet potato wedges
W - out for dinner
T - Jamie Oliver Sicilian butternut squash and chickpea stew
F - pizza and movie night
S - dhal and rice.
S - cod with new potatoes, peas and parsley sauce.
M - feta and roast veg traybake

TheRealProfessorYaffle · 29/03/2022 07:26

Going to use the flaked almonds instead of flour and butter to top a fruit crumble, thanks for tip! Have been trying to walk a calorie deficit up, and surprised how few calories are burned walking! Never mind, it's all going in the right direction and it'll take whatever it takes for this peri menopausal shortie! 10.9lb to go. Keep going everyone!

Knittingnanny2 · 30/03/2022 06:59

Leaving Singapore tonight and back to reality! I’m determined to get back on track with mindful eating . Planning to have a strict 2 weeks on 1200/1300 and then weigh myself.
I’m hoping to be able to stay a couple of pounds under 9 st but it’s so hard to maintain long term
The lovely “ helper” has just told me how sad she will to see me go and that I’ve looked lovely every day!
I want to hug her but don’t think it’s the done thing!

WellTidy · 30/03/2022 11:42

@neverenoughchelseboots we will be twins again, I know it. I went up to 9st 11lb at the start of March after a few days off the wagon. I am 9st 6lb today, and have taken inspiration from your meal plan. We are having teriyaki salmon and sweet potato wedges and salad tonight.

Safe journey home @Knittingnanny2, Iots of love for the goodbyes when they come Flowers

@Weelegs29 I am a walker too, I wouldn’t be able to lose weight without it. I’m sure you will see results!

Knittingnanny2 · 31/03/2022 12:51

Had to turn the heating on when I got back!
Going food shopping now with my determined to eat healthily and mindfully shopping list
