@Knittingnanny2 i finally have a hair appointment this Thursday and plan to have around 8 inches cut off. My hair is suddenly waist length but I have had to cancel the last 3 appointments because e of covid and DDs poor health

Good luck with the hair. I’m thinking of doing something new with mine now I’ve lost weight. So bored if my mid brown colour but have a complexion that tends towards olive and brown eyes so not all colours suit me. I was blonde as a child so pretty sure I can go lighter if I chose the colour well.

I haven’t been here for ages but have been quietly working away in my weight. As of yesterday I am officially normal BMI !😁

Started off 65.8kg in September and am now 59.5. Pretty happy with that. I’m 5’1 and curvy.

I don’t have a ‘before’ photo but here is my ‘after’ as if today. Still want to lose another few kilos but think I look pretty good.

Well done @bluetongue that's an achievement. I'm not doing well but we've all been so unwell. Next year!

Well done @bluetongue that's an achievement. I'm not doing well but we've all been so unwell. Next year!

Thanks.

Arrived for Christmas lunch and the first thing my drunk, (sometimes) inappropriate uncle said to me as soon as I walked in was ‘you’ve lost weight’. I mean it’s nice someone noticed but it was hilariously blunt. He hasn’t seen me for a year so I’ll take the compliment.

againmaeve · 26/12/2022 18:54

Well done @bluetongue - ticking along here. I think I am holding steady weight-wise but not going to weigh again until the new year. Hello to @Sooverthemill and any other shorties still around.

thislittlebird · 15/01/2023 19:59

Hi everyone, hope you’re all well. I haven’t been on here in a while. Weight loss got waylaid by a lot of ivf nonsense including a chemical and a total fail of a second round so it’s taken me a while to get back to a place where I feel like looking after myself again. I’m pretty much there now but have basically undone all my good work between September and December, so I’m back to square one. Currently 10 stone 9lb (might be slightly less in the morning) and hoping to lose 1lb per week roughly.

My 40th birthday is in May so I’d like to lose at least 12lbs by then. I started back with my pal Jillian and 30 day shred tonight, have signed up to Pilates on Friday and hoping to do something every day before that so I don’t fall flat on my face at the first class.

Sooverthemill · 16/01/2023 21:04

@thislittlebird that's sad, sorry. Like you I have a significant birthday ( beginning of April) and I'm hoping to lose some weight by then. My plan is simply eating better, cooking from scratch and not having any extras. But if I want some crisps I will have some ( in a small amount). I feel denial doesn't work

thislittlebird · 17/01/2023 09:32

@Sooverthemill that’s a good plan! April is achievable. My weight has crept up and up so I definitely need to hit the exercise, but I don’t tend to cut out things diet wise, I just monitor how much I’m eating in terms of calories and portion which does seem to work. Just a shame it doesn’t stay off these days :/

I have to weigh myself again this morning and I can’t say I’m looking forward to it. Scales had ran out of battery yesterday morning. at least it’s a good motivator to get moving.

Raveon2000 · 18/01/2023 06:50

Hi everyone I'm joining you all. 5 foot 2 and I've hidden the scales as I they seem to affect my mood so going with inches.
Started exercising a week ago and also eating less and more healthy. Already down 1 inch from hips and 0.5 inch waist.
Going on holiday in February so got a goal to keep going

againmaeve · 20/01/2023 08:52

Hello @Raveon2000 I've been upping my efforts since the new year and doing a 'damp' January - haven't managed a dry one! Hopefully will see progress by end of month. I think going with inches is a great idea. Waves to @thislittlebird (so sorry about your ivf) and @Sooverthemill and my diet twin @Knittingnanny2 How is everyone else doing?

Knittingnanny2 · 20/01/2023 09:37

Hi everyone, I’m the fat twin now I think! No seriously I’m going to get back on track now ready for summer clothes! I haven’t t weighed since September due to my inactivity ( got a horrid horrid mild prolapse) but having op in March so I’m probably about 10 lb heavier now.
Still squeezing in the size 12”s but I’m way over my lowest of 9 st at the moment.
I can’t be going to visit son and family in Singapore bursting out of my holiday clothes!

thislittlebird · 21/01/2023 15:35

@againmaeve same here for the new year ramp up, but it took me a couple of weeks to get rid of Christmas chocolate and to start. Diet isn’t great yet but I started some exercise last Sunday and have done three workouts and a Pilates class since then. Thinking tomorrow I’ll measure myself like @Raveon2000 because it is a good gauge.

I have a headache today so not sure I’ll do much but tomorrow I’ll aim to do a workout.

Also thinking of booking a trip somewhere to motivate myself for May.

thislittlebird · 03/02/2023 15:14

Weighed myself this morning and I was 10 stone 5 (it actually said 10 stone 4.6 but I don't trusty my scales entirely) which was nice. I've been regularly exercising and trying to monitor what I eat but this week has been hard between a migraine and what I suspect are gall stones (not sure, but seems like it could be that, seeing a doctor in a few weeks).

It's good impetus to lose weight, it would be great if I could hit 10 stone by early March.

BogRollBOGOF · 17/02/2023 21:15

Short person checking in.
I've been about half a stone more than I'd like for most of the past 3 years and fell into some very lazy cullinery habits. Since Christmas, I've been doing much more fresh cooking and trying to use 30 plants through the week. I'm also marathon training so my priority is health and energy.

I've noticed that I've not reached for so many junky nibbles (I have ravenous twig children in the house. My scales are being stubborn gits of course, but I do feel more toned for the change. I've got half term to survive next week, but now the weather's warming up, I plan to do a 5:2 day around marathon training recovery. The each lb less of fat I have to lug around 26.2 mi, the better. If the weight is productive muscle, that's OK!

I've learned the expensive way that it's not worth me buying in salad Nov-Feb, so I've just stopped it now. I also find fasting on cold days really difficult, hence the plan being to generally eat well and develop healthy habits Jan-Feb and then look at a weekly fast Mar onwards.

Pommelegible · 17/03/2023 13:43

Hi everyone just checking in to see how you all are? I totally gave up on losing weight and have been eating too much. I’m still yo-yoing within the same 3/4 kg range-ideally would be another 2 or 3 below the lower end of that. Easy to hide it in big jumpers and coats etc because still look slim ish but tried on a summer dress and a bikini and the rolls were shocking. Need to lose under bra roll and love handles mostly. And want to try to tone up the bingo wings. But want to do that by not doing any exercise and by still eating what I want 🤣. Just had a piece of cake after lunch 🤦🏻‍♀️

againmaeve · 20/03/2023 08:03

Hello! Haven't stepped on the scales in ages. Haven't tried on summer clothes yet but suspect that I'm going to be disappointed when I do...should do it soon really so I have time to lose a few pounds before I have to wear them!

thislittlebird · 20/03/2023 08:23

I’m still at it, and have been since mid January. Just seems like it doesn’t want to shift this time and every time I use my digital scales they say something completely different so I’m very confused. Bought myself some old fashioned scales and hoping they’ll be more reliable.

I need to be able to get into swimwear by May, so it’s probably time to cut the calories down.

WellTidy · 22/03/2023 16:49

Hello all. I’m having a complete shocker - I put on all the weight I lost in the first half of 2022 and more. I’m as he’s y as I’ve ever been.

I took myself in hand today and went for a 90 minute walk. I’m much, much more unfit than I was though, as I’m not covering anything like the distance as I was in the same time and I’m much more tired that I expected to be. I’ve also input what I’ve eaten today onto the MFP app. I’m hoping this will help me M be more accountable as I’ve been completely out of control with emotional eating. Nothing fits me.

My plan for tomorrow is another long walk, I have a podcast ready. It’s going to be a long slog.

Good luck everyone x

thislittlebird · 23/03/2023 10:42

@WellTidy I put all mine back on and a bit more, a 90 minute walk is a good start. Started working out in January but nothing is shifting it, I’m still 65kg since the initial weight loss and it doesn’t want to get lower. No idea what to do, other than maybe cut the calories or carbs right down. I need to get in swimwear in May :/

WellTidy · 23/03/2023 17:37

@thislittlebird youre a fair bit lighter than me! I had to put the figure into a kg to stones/pounds converter as I am so old.

That you’re working out is great, I’m sure there will be changes in your body all the time that you just may not always see on the scales. You’re definitely going in the right direction. I measured my waist on Tuesday and got the shock of my life, hence the walk yesterday and another 90 minute walk today. I am set to stay under 1400 calories again today, so just need to keep that going and uk the exercise. I know I need to get back to the gym but I’m trying to ease a little with the walks. I’ve booked some classes (yoga and spin) next week to help things along. If I can get back to doing yoga, spin, walking at gradient and restarting c25k, I will be in a better place.

I too need to get into swimwear in May. I have nine weeks. I can’t get into my biggest jeans at the moment so getting into swimwear seems like a mountain to climb.

thislittlebird · 25/03/2023 11:29

@WellTidy haha, the kg conversion is something I let the scales do.

It’s honestly so frustrating, I’ve been working out regularly since January and there’s so little change, it’s a nightmare. I did measurements today and my waist (the bit between hips and thighs, not the biggest part of the belly) is still 87cm. This time last year roughly, I was posting on here and doing 30 day shred was really helping, my waist was reducing a lot. And now it’s just plateauing.

Hopefully the walks are a good means back into it all.

I think I’m going to take a photo in a swimsuit today and put it in my fitness pal and then another next week and so on. Hopefully I’ll start to see a physical difference.

WellTidy · 28/03/2023 16:02

How are you getting on @thislittlebird ?

I went back to the gym today for the first time since last summer. Did a spin class and a 90 minute walk. My legs are really aching and I’m sooooo tired! I’ve stayed under 1300 calories for four days now, so a step in the right direction.

thislittlebird · 28/03/2023 20:51

@WellTidy that sounds like good work! Spin Class, ouch!

I’ve got a busy work week which is ruining my diet. Two catered lunches in two days, but I managed to have a small dinner and did a 15 minute medicine ball workout before work today and I did about 15k steps. Will try and do a longer workout tomorrow morning before lunch number 2. By Thursday I should be back on track for 1200-1400 cals per day.

My husband thinks he can see some weight had come off, wish it would come off my face :/

againmaeve · 28/03/2023 21:17

My son has just opened a tub of Pringles to eat in from of the TV. Am going to brush my teeth and go to bed to avoid temptation. I'm cutting booze and snacking which is my usual first line of attack to shift some weight.

thislittlebird · 29/03/2023 20:32

I had a group photo taken at work today. I wasn’t dressed well because didn’t know they’d be taking photos, and my gawd, I look like such a lump in it. A small human ball. I hate being short at times like this because extra weight makes me look so top heavy. Reminded me of how much I have to lose, but some other stuff might get in the way in the next couple of weeks. Really hope I can mostly keep up the food, walks and fitness.

WellTidy · 29/03/2023 21:35

I had a group photo taken at a Christmas fundraising event back at the end of November 2022. All of us were dressed in Christmas jumpers and the photo was taken at the end of a really full on, physical day, and I was absolutely exhausted. I looked like one of those round children’s toys that you gently push and it wobbles all over the place in mine, and it doesn’t help that I know I’ve gained 10lb since then! Bloody photos. So unnecessary!

Ive stayed at 1200-1300 calories each day for a week now so I’m hoping for some results soon. Yoga class booked for tomorrow and a one hour walk. Didn’t exercise at all today as I’m aching so much after spin yesterday. My poor undercarriage 😯
