We are away and I’m jet lagged so just popping to say good luck with your interview @purplegirl13 , I’m rooting for you!

Knittingnanny2 · 23/06/2022 13:37

How was the interview?@purplegirl13

Knittingnanny2 · 23/06/2022 13:39

I’ve just been to our new garden centre, to buy weed killer. Bought 2 pairs of shorts and 2 pairs of Pavers sandals by mistake and forgot the boring weed killer! Klass size 10 shorts! They are very generously sized!

neverenoughchelseaboots · 23/06/2022 22:32

Hope the interview went okay Purple.

I'm down in the 9st 2s and wondering if I can start with an 8 in the next 18 days. I fear not but it would be sooooo good.

purplegirl13 · 24/06/2022 12:35

Thanks all, the interview went ok, I fumbled a couple of questions and felt I rambled on a fair bit. I'd be very surprised to be offered the role but if I was, it is not the right role or manager for me. I am an Executive Assistant so personality fit is a big factor. Plus I am working for the nicest Director I've had in years so the bar is now set high. I'm in this role until December so there is no urgency in getting a new job.

@Knittingnanny2 you forgetting the weed killer made me laugh!

@neverenoughchelseaboots oooh, you are so close to getting under 9st. Exciting!

I had D&V on Tues/Weds which I thought was nerves but I think it was a tummy bug instead, and brings a silver lining of having lost a few lbs. I weighed in at 10st6 today which is the lowest I've been in weeks.

B - nothing
L - quorn nuggets and fries
D - probably nothing as still not 100% on the appetite front

Sooverthemill · 25/06/2022 09:24

@purplegirl13 thats kind of good then isn’t it about the interview? Sorry about D&V thiugh
ive lost another pound!

purplegirl13 · 25/06/2022 13:38

@Sooverthemill yes, it has made me realise I should start looking for a new job now so I've got 5 months to find the right role/person, rather than feeling pressured to accept the first role that comes along when my contract is close to an end. Good job on the loss

I still have no appetite which is not a bad thing as it's giving me the break I desperately needed to stop an end to the cakes/processed foods I've been eating recently.

Today I have eaten a banana, and a small amount of mashed potato. I am planning to meet a friend for dinner tonight

thislittlebird · 25/06/2022 14:37

@purplegirl13 sounds like it was an easy decision on that one, which is good. I have an interview monday. It's online, at the same place I'm at already, it's part time. I haven't had much luck the last two times I've applied for internal roles, so trying to keep my expectations low. Full time would be preferable but I can do it as a secondment alongside my current job if I did get it. I've been here a few years now and since I'm doing IVF it's hard to justify losing my maternity leave benefits if I time a move badly, but roles relevant to what I do are few and far between here.

I'm dreading my weigh in tomorrow. I've convinced myself I won't be losing inches/pounds. Hopefully tomorrow will prove me wrong and I'll be slightly less than 10st 5lb and less in the waist too, I think I was about 33.5 inches before I left for Cyprus and 34.5 inches when I got back.

thislittlebird · 26/06/2022 10:07

The weigh in was ok, I’m relieved!

Weight today is 10 stone and waist is 33.5 inches, so that’s basically back to my pre-holiday weight/measurements. Feels nice to have good to have got back to the point I was at in just a couple of weeks.

purplegirl13 · 27/06/2022 08:55

@thislittlebird good luck for your interview today! Also, that is a great weigh in! I daren't take measurements

How did everyone get on at the weekend? I know it's when a few of us 'relax' on the food and drink front

I am still not 100% and and not eating much. Yesterday I went to a local farmers so treated myself to a cake, ice cream, fresh bread and my favourite mushroom pate but that's all I ate for the whole day (with a cheeky bit of bread and pate in the evening, but it really wasn't much).

B - nothing as feeling queasy
L - leftover bread with mushroom pate and/or avocado
D - tofu laska (have the soup base in the freezer so I'll just throw tofu and noodles in)

neverenoughchelseaboots · 28/06/2022 10:29

Good result with the weigh in @thislittlebird and good luck with the interview.

You're so right @purplegirl13, the people you work with are so important, especially as an EA. I could probably earn more in another role but my boss is fab, he's really flexible and fair and very funny - that matters more to me at this point in my life with two little children.

The baby has chicken pox at the moment so is at home this week; it's not ideal but could be so much more stressful

neverenoughchelseaboots · 28/06/2022 13:13

The other half of my post disappeared.

I'm having a good run of progress with about 0.1 loss per day on average which has brought me down to 9st 1.2lbs this morning. So I was feeling good and then as I came downstairs DH said 'looking trim Chelseaboots'. 💃

Sooverthemill · 28/06/2022 13:19

I had a weekend of semi indulgence though trying to be sensible with portion sizes. We went to our sons new pizzeria with DD and her DH and then had everyone over in the evening to stay so I cooked pasta and the next morning took DD and DS out for breakfast ( I had just a slice of gluten free toast) and then lunch at home. All somewhat dimmed by the hellish wind we had. I had ordered new fur for our new patio ( DH built it over a few weekends) and although it was very sunny the wind took all the parasols and cushions off down the garden! But yesterday I went to see the GP to see if my weird gut can be investigated as it's becoming really tricky to cope. Weight stable

againmaeve · 28/06/2022 16:37

Good luck with GP appointment @Sooverthemill I am doing okay food wise but better with exercise - just been for a swim. Weight stable

purplegirl13 · 29/06/2022 08:42

@neverenoughchelseaboots I agree completely, it is so important to have a good supportive manager. I am gutted to have finally found one and it's only temporary, but it sets the bar high for my future roles. How is little babychelseaboots? Has your DD had chicken pox already? Your DH's comment made me smile. You are doing so well, you'll soon be back to pre-pregnancy weight!

@Sooverthemill I hope the pizzeria opening went well! What are you eating these days, you were trying fodmap? Was the GP willing to investigate?

@againmaeve dare I ask how the wine and crisps consumption is? 😉

@thislittlebird how did the interview go?

I am still only eating one meal a day, and am not 100%. If it continues past the weekend, I'll give the gasto nurse a call.

Food today - possibly an omelette at lunchtime

WellTidy · 29/06/2022 14:48

Loving hearing what is going on in everybody’s lives.

I am back from the latest mini break to New York, just over the jet lag now and planning on spending much of the next two weeks on the sofa watching the tennis.

I am however up to 9st 3lb, after my low of 8st 11.25lb a few weeks ago. I’ve just clocked that this is nearly half a stone in a month (!), so I am going to have to get a grip on it. I’ve definitely over-indulged, no doubt about that, but I’ve maintained a decent amount of exercise. Almost at the end of week 6 in my couch to 5k, which is a 25 minute run. I am surprised by how I feel about it - I really think I will be able to do it, albeit slowly. Having struggled with 90 seconds less than two months ago, I am amazed that someone like me can now run. I’m still doing hill walks, rowing machine and spin (not all of them every day!!).

But I do need to bring my eating under control or I will end up gaining all over again, in a repeat of the second half of 2021 🤦🏻‍♀️

againmaeve · 29/06/2022 16:40

Impressive work on the C25K @WellTidy and you can't go to New York without putting on weight surely! Hello @purplegirl13 - crisp avoidance going well; wine avoidance going so-so! Weight still the same.

neverenoughchelseaboots · 29/06/2022 18:32

I'm sure when you're back to normality you'll see it come off WellTidy. Especially as you're running regularly. My old personal trainer used to say 'running chucks out the calories'.

The pizzeria sounds amazing Soover, you must be very proud of him.

Baby chelseaboots isn't too bad thank you Purple. He's a bit more demanding to be entertained and held but not particularly upset or suffering. DD had it three weeks ago, it's so strange that she shouldn't have been contagious for two weeks before he got it. But it's rife in our city, DH couldn't get calamine from any pharmacies in the area.

I'm still creeping down 9st 0.9 this morning! So so close. It's making me even resist the chilled wine in the fridge.

TrackTrack · 29/06/2022 20:44

Please can I jump on!

I haven't got a lot to lose but definitely could do with a good few kilos several coming off. I've had my body fat tested which was higher than I'd like.

My heaviest weight was 15 stone, ten years ago I went down to 9 stone. I then focused on exercise and now run and work weights, current weight 8 stone 9 lbs.

I'm fairly fit and strong (ish) but flabby! I did diet down to 8 stone 4 and felt better, but over the past 6 months my weight has crept back up to 8.9. Purely greed. Lots of gin, snacks and cheese. So annoyed at myself!!

So my goal weight is 7 stone 12, and my goal calorie intake is 1200kcal. It's tough because I exercise so much, I need to fuel, but then because I'm so short, the only way I ever lose fat is by dropping kcal significantly. Hoping for 1lb loss a week!

My biggest struggle is snacking in the evening. DH can eat what he likes and it's SO hard to resist sharing crisps, ice cream etc.

purplegirl13 · 30/06/2022 15:59

@WellTidy wow, just wow. From becoming a gym goer to runner!! 😮Love the quote from never's former PT "running chucks out the calories"
@neverenoughchelseaboots odd your little one got it so long after your DD, but if it's rife then no wonder. Hope you resisted the wine!
@againmaeve good to hear weight is stable
@TrackTrack welcome! you're among fellow shorties who get the struggle.

I couldn't keep any food down yesterday until late at night when I had some toast. Still getting sick today but so far have managed to eat some eggy bread/french toast and choc hobnobs. Managed to get a call in with GP and have meds to pick up once I have the strength to get up and out. I have been pushing myself all week that I've just given up today and logged off work earlier.

I'd better have another loss on the scales tomorrow 🙂

purplegirl13 · 01/07/2022 08:53

I am 10st8.4 which is 2lbs up from last week! I am not sure that can be right as I've kept little food down since then.

I am so over this sickness bug , but GP thinks it's acid reflux now causing nausea and sickness so I'm in a horrible cycle. Fingers crossed the antacids do the trick!

Knittingnanny2 · 01/07/2022 09:25

My pre Portugal eating has fallen to pieces! I’ve had a chesty viral thing, not covid. And all I’ve wanted to eat is white carbs and tubs of ice cream!

never mind. Today is a new start as I’m feeling a bit better.
welcome to the new ladies.

purplegirl13 · 01/07/2022 09:52

@Knittingnanny2 it would be very unlucky if it is was covid (again!). Good to hear you're feeling a bit better

Knittingnanny2 · 01/07/2022 10:38

@purplegirl13 yes it would be third time!
during my week of feeling rough Mrknittingnanny bought me a 3 pack of double caramel magnums. Why are they so delicious!!!!

Pommelegible · 04/07/2022 19:09

@Knittingnanny2 @purplegirl13 I hope you are both feeling better.

Totally off the eating well and exercising wagon but the good news is that just being able to walk the school run has given me my waist back. I’m going to try to plan better from tomorrow and stop eating so much chocolate!!
