I love those shorts @thislittlebird! I have a pair of mom jeans from m&s in exactly the same colour, I love them so much. They were a bargain in the sale 2 years ago

And @thislittlebird, size 10 - high five!

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 01/06/2022 21:43

@SwimmingOnEggshells it might be more like a side 11 😂 but that doesn’t exist so 10 it is. I love the shorts, I thought I’d try the lilac because the size 12 white were too big and they’re so cute, I’m sold on this colour! Maybe I’ll have to keep eyes peeled for jeans in that colour too. What do you find works with them in top colours?

SwimmingOnEggshells · 01/06/2022 23:28

Mostly pastels, this jumper from Penneys is lovely with them, and white is always great

I’m back home and feel like an enormous blob! Tomorrow I start a 6 week detox from New York/Singapore excesses!

Pommelegible · 02/06/2022 16:11

@SwimmingOnEggshells don't beat yourself up. In fact I sometimes find I lose weight in the weeks after a blowout, not sure why or how!

@Knittingnanny2 hope you had an amazing time! How do you detox?

I’ve been really bad at exercising this week, just can’t be bothered (and I get really embarrassed about doing it in front of people so find it harder to fit in when dp is around) but I know I’ll regret it when I go on holiday in two weeks and am still all blobby.

Knittingnanny2 · 02/06/2022 16:22

Detox for me will be stopping eating cake, biscuits crisps etc! Might have to start after our Sunday tea party in the street though

againmaeve · 02/06/2022 17:12

I'll join you for a detox @Knittingnanny2. Too much food, crisps and booze over the last month or so. Street party tonight though and someone is making the platinum pudding

Cathy31 · 02/06/2022 17:25

@thislittlebird I have a really small 'frame' as well as being a shortie, so I look best at a pretty low BMI. I wish I had a figure that carried a bit more weight well, but it all sits badly on me. Love that jumpsuit!!!

Today, DH brought me a smoked salmon bagel for breakfast after a lie in 😊Soup, bread and butter for lunch. Then a (small!) ice cream and a date...

Dinner I'll have a different soup and bread again. And a g&t. And I'm going to yoga class for the first time in weeks!

Knittingnanny2 · 02/06/2022 18:08

Yes I think I’ll start Monday, then I’ve got 5/6 weeks before a short trip to Portugal to see my Singapore family on their holidays
Hope I still can fit in my jumpsuits after visiting supersized USA!

Knittingnanny2 · 02/06/2022 18:09

Oh that sounded rude, not implying everyone in USA is supersized...

thislittlebird · 02/06/2022 22:02

@Cathy31 yeah makes sense. I have a small upper frame I suppose and I could definitely do with my upper arms coming down in size from what they are because my shoulders and wrists are very small and they look too big right now. But my thighs and calves have always been quite solid which probably adds some weight on. I remember being about 54kg in 2011, I was very stressed and lost a fair bit of weight and I haven’t been that small since then probably. Yeah I love that jumpsuit! My arms won’t look fantastic in it yet but not too bad.

I did 30 day shred level 3 again today and had vegetables in a thai red curry sauce with a small amount of brown rice, some fruit, a shake for breakfast. Snack was a ginger snap, and later a few Brazi nuts and dark chocolate.

Weighing in and measuring the waist in the morning, then off to the airport early hours of Saturday, all being well with the flight.

@SwimmingOnEggshells that’s a cute jumper! I’ve packed a couple of neutrals and pastels to go with the shorts.

Pommelegible · 03/06/2022 08:07

@Knittingnanny2 , @againmaeve there’s always something isn’t there? I don’t think I could ever do low carb because I’d have to miss out on so many cake occasions!

@Cathy31 I’m the same, very small frame, (‘fine boned’ my gran used to say) so I start looking podgy even when I’m still quite a low weight/size. Also when I do put on weight I only put it on my torso- mostly stomach (and recently upper arms), my skinny legs look even skinnier in comparison, if it was more evenly spread I think it wouldn’t look so bad.

Anyway, thanks to my regular posting on here keeping me accountable I have lost a kg! So 2kg down from my heaviest non pregnant/postpartum weight that I was at the beginning of the year. Original goal was 5 kg to get back to my pre dc4 weight but I think 4kg might be enough so <channels Bon jovi> ‘woah we’re halfway there!’. I had 18 kg to lose after dc4, lost most of it straight away and another 3kg once I stopped breastfeeding but that last 5 just wouldn’t go so I’m really happy it’s starting to come down.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 03/06/2022 09:10

That's great @Pommelegible that you're down a kilo, that's 2.2lbs in old money 😃

@thislittlebird well done on your shred! I managed the first day of week 5 c25k which was a 5 min run x 3 and I got through it. I think the next run is another step up which I'm slightly apprehensive about but I'm determined to do it. I have to say, running on a treadmill is insanely boring. I have to make sure I've got music I'm really into on to get me through it!

So I'm the same weight as last week despite my exercise and eating like a bird...! I have to confess I've been using protein shakes as a lunch substitute some days and it's totally played havoc with my tummy...a gallon of prune juice is finally sorting it out Blush

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/06/2022 09:30

@thislittlebird you're doing so well! I've been on protein weight loss shakes once a day then a small Snack and dinner for a couple of weeks now (apart from the odd cheat day) I've managed to lose 3lb it's just so slow going!

I have alwaYs thought my frame was a bit confused! I have very small hands and feet, tiny wrists and ankles then large calves and thighs - which are all muscle, big hips and bum, a fairly slim waist, back fat, very large boobs and chubby upper arms 😂 so mainly when I lose weight it comes off my arms, back and waist and hips! Who knows what size I actually should be but I know when I last lost a lot of weight I went down to 9st 8 which is above the maximum I should be according to bmi and people told me I looked ill 🤷🏼‍♀️ so who knows

thislittlebird · 03/06/2022 10:10

@Marvellouslymadmum that three pounds will add up fast though! Keep it up and you’ll get there. I’m the same with the frame confusion, except I have thick ankles as well as thighs and calves. They’re very strong though which is pretty handy lol. I have no bum to speak of 😭

I have to say the back fat weight loss is so pleasing, I hate that shit. I have definitely lost some from there too because I had to swap my swimming costume for a size 10 instead of 12, it was too loose on top.

I think the whole frame thing definitely makes a difference to what you look like with weight too.

Friday weigh in done and 🥁 🥁 🥁 I’m into the 9st bracket 🎉. I’m 9st 13lb or 63kg in metric. Can’t believe it, didn’t think I’d get there before the holiday tomorrow. I’ve lost 6lbs in one month and 3.5 inches from my waist, my waist is 32.5 inches today and it was 36inches on may 3rd. Thanks to Jillian Michaels and the 30 Day Shred, I guess 😃

thislittlebird · 03/06/2022 10:14

@SwimmingOnEggshells missed your message above mine. I bet that week 5 run felt like a good achievement! I remember it did for me, seems like a big hurdle in the programme. I might start it when back from holiday. Treadmills are dull, yeah. But at least you don’t have the fall in a pot hole issue I had when doing c25k for all of one or two weeks last year lol

I can have one protein shake per day, but more than that = upset stomach. I make a particular Joe Wicks recipe often and it doesn’t effect me like a pre-made protein shakes might.

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/06/2022 10:23

@thislittlebird I wish my ankles were strong! I'm forever twisting and spraining them as they can't take my calves 😂 I am soooo looking forward to getting rid of the back fat!

I think I best look into the 30 day shred!!

thislittlebird · 03/06/2022 10:31

@Marvellouslymadmum maybe I should be grateful for my cankles after all then 🤣

It really is handy a good programme. I’ve owned it for years and years, bought on prime and done it in the past but never for as long I think, my motivation to keep at it for the month has been good this time, plus it’s only 20 minutes most days which is very do-able.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 03/06/2022 10:38

back fat is the worst...I went bra shopping the other day and had it in full view in the changing room mirrors

I'm also very small framed, tiny wrists and hands. My finger size is a G and a half!

OP posts:
SwimmingOnEggshells · 03/06/2022 10:41

Oh and I measured my waist, I'm down 1 inch on the last time I measured, which was February and I've lost a measly 2lbs since then. Still though, measurement is more important IMO

OP posts:
Marvellouslymadmum · 03/06/2022 10:56

@SwimmingOnEggshells I hate the fact that the back fat is made worse by my bra! If I don't wear one it's not as bad, though still there, but I have to wear one and it makes it bulge in horrible places. I really hate it! I do agree with you on the inches are more important than weight too, I didn't even own scales for a good eight years as I just prefer to go by what I look like not what I weight

thislittlebird · 03/06/2022 11:51

@Marvellouslymadmum not going to lie, when lockdown happened and I was working from home mostly I started wearing sloggi bras because they were more comfy sitting around indoors and I loved that they didn’t squish my back fat!

Breakfast today is a shake I’ve made with almond milk, a banana, a spoon of protein powder, frozen pineapple, frozen raspberries, and flax seed.

Marvellouslymadmum · 03/06/2022 15:09

@thislittlebird I find the weight of my boobs pulls whatever I'm wearing making the back fat worse, unless I wear a sports bra! I'm just hoping as the weight goes it goes too! Shake sounds nice, I've been having the meal
Replacement shakes for weight loss from protein works. They're so much nicer and more filling than weight watchers etc! I've had strawberries and cream, millionaires shortbread, mint choc chip and chocolate brownie flavours!
