I’m loving the menu choices here. Mine are very boring in comparison as I am trying to use up what we have before we go away. We all ate different things for dinner last night as I didn’t have enough of any one meal for more than one person. I think tonight will be the same.

Good luck everyone - with the choices and the exercise. It all sounds really positive.

I am 8st 13lb this morning and I’ve done an hour’s walking at high gradient on the treadmill. Rewarding myself with a large toasted tea cake with three pats of butter 😳 in M&S cafe. Ds finishes his end of year exams today so we will be having something to celebrate. Need to be mindful, need to be mindful …

Have a wonderful time in NY @Knittingnanny2 with your son.

Knittingnanny2 · 27/05/2022 11:09

Thanks everyone! I’m through security etc so all of my paperwork must have have been ok!
I’m people watching as always and I’m so envious of the most elegant lady travellers, they make it all look so effortless
Meanwhile I’ve just consumed a grab bag sized packet of cheese and onion crisps!

Cathy31 · 27/05/2022 12:29

1/3 vegan pizza and salad, plus 2 dates for lunch. A black coffee after, which always tastes and feels amazing.

@Knittingnanny2 haha I know exactly what you mean 'elegant lady travellers'. Not me either I'm afraid, but it's the goal for my holiday at the end of summer. Elegant, slim, stylish, organised, rich, witty....

Cathy31 · 27/05/2022 14:25

And an apples, 2 oatcakes and peanut butter for snack.

Pommelegible · 27/05/2022 14:42

I’m more of a frazzled rumpled mess of a traveller!

Does everyone else find their appetite varies quite a lot? I’ve had 7/8 days of finding it easy not to snack and feeling full after meals but then today I’m like a bottomless pit and am absolutely starving.

Today’s food
2 cups of tea
greek yoghurt with mixed seeds and maple syrup
1 slice toast with butter and marmite
4 raisin wheats

slice of Genoa cake
1/4 fairy cake
1/2 slice of carrot cake
glass of elderflower lemonade (all at preschool jubilee party)

2 slices sourdough toast with butter
2 slices brie
slice of roast beef
little bit of salad
(was planning on skipping lunch after all the cake but too hungry)
kombucha
green tea
water
bit of Easter egg

hoping to just have tea and water until dinner which is a very healthy and diet friendly burger in brioche bun 😳
will do grated kohlrabi and carrot salad and lettuce and tomatoes. Maybe some celery. There might be an avocado left too.

if I want pudding I will have melon.

Cathy31 · 27/05/2022 18:59

Dinner was rice cakes, hummus, and salad, then soy yoghurt and muesli. I still feel hungry. @Pommelegible yes, me. I'm having a hungry week. It sucks. I think it's to do with my cycle. Bloody exhausted too. I'd be eating a slab of dairy milk - you know the huge sharing ones - if it wasn't for the certain regret.

Cathy31 · 27/05/2022 19:08

Tomorrow, the plan is:
Brekkie, after 8am (so a 13 hour fast. My periods get weird - v light, v long cycle - if I fast longer, any one else?) Maybe porridge, peanut butter, berries.
Lunch, leftover 1/3pizza, salad
Dinner, dhal and rice? Depends on DH.
And a g&t.

Motivation... Ugh. Can anyone help with this? My holiday seems ages away, compared to that slab of dairy milk...

SwimmingOnEggshells · 27/05/2022 21:50

@purplegirl13 yes that was me, it was good! And I even used frozen onions as well :)

SwimmingOnEggshells · 27/05/2022 22:01

All the delicious food descriptions...! My food has been very boring lately. Today I had 2 x skinny cappuccino (homemade on a very small amount of milk), 1 protein shake, nibbles of cheese, one pizza and now I'm having a glass of wine. I'm only having one, but it is enormous! My weight is still not to where it was last week, sigh. I'm sure I'll get a drop again soon...

And I managed the first run of week 4, c25k, whoop! As @WellTidy will know it's 3 minutes running, 5 minutes running x 2 with walking in between. On my first 5 minute run I got the WORST stitch and nearly had to stop but I managed to finish it out. Bloody stitches, I always get them, anyone else? I took it a bit easier in the last set and the stitch was kept at bay.

My DH is away for a couple of nights so I won't get to the gym again until Monday but probably no harm in letting my body recover. Anyone else find they eat worse when their DH is not around? I know it's going to a carby day tomorrow, it's my children's favourite food! I also can't see us getting up to much because my DD aged 4 has a virus of some sort - temp and sore throat. It might be covid but I refuse to do an antigen test (bad citizen I know!).

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and that the weather is good where you are. Sending you all 'good food choice vibes' X

@Knittingnanny2 that sounds fab! Have a great time.

@Pommelegible I always look a complete mess when travelling, don’t know how people stay so tidy and well presented!

Today I’ve had a slice of scrambled egg and toast for late breakfast, just had Greek yogurt, strawberries and honey, and probably a salad of some kind with mini falafels and whatever is left in the fridge tonight.

I did a weigh/measure-in today. Since May 3rd I’ve gone from 10st 5lb to 10st 2lb (my scales are unpredictable but I think this is roughly right) and I’ve lost 3 inches off my waist! 🙌 One week to go until holiday so hopefully I can improve that a bit before then.

Pommelegible · 30/05/2022 10:16

@thislittlebird 3 inches! Wow! That’s great, well done.

Managed not to eat too much rubbish over the weekend but did eat 4 chocolates after lunch yesterday and then pudding after my roast. Made a really disgusting stir fry on Saturday, not quite sure what went wrong to make it so gross but it was not nice. At least it had loads of veg in so was healthy but gross 😉

Think weight stayed the same last week which is a bit annoying because I mostly ate well but maybe it will come off this week. Less than 3 weeks until my holiday 😬

thislittlebird · 30/05/2022 11:07

@Pommelegible it’s such a relief to see change in inches even if my weight isn’t changing much. I didn’t believe it and had to measure about six times lol. Feeling a bit more like myself again and less rotund in the trunk. Waist is now 33 inches, and I weighed in today and I’m 10st 1lb, I may not manage it before holiday but I know I can get back into the 9st bracket in June which is great.

Holiday is Saturday, I swapped my size 12 Next swimming costume for a size 10, the shoulder straps were getting loose. The smaller size is snug in the belly but doable, feels less likely to fall off my shoulders. It’s this one in the link, I have to say it’s very flattering. www.next.co.uk/g28526s4/t09243?dp=a&gbraid=0AAAAADm_5UXeAJKAGEN_TMmotIdk2_1pe&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIv7-LtPyG-AIVEIBQBh2pjQ_kEAQYAiABEgIL3fD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#t09243&gbraid=0AAAAADm_5UXeAJKAGEN_TMmotIdk2_1pe

When you cook something usually nice and it turns out bad it’s always very disappointing :/

thislittlebird · 30/05/2022 11:12

Not sure what happened to that link, this should be it 🤨
www.next.co.uk/g28526s4/t09243#t09243

they have some really nice prints in this style, I like the tropical one but probably too late for me to start swapping lol

Cathy31 · 30/05/2022 18:54

Bleugh. Today:
B: Muesli, yoghurt, prunes
Snack: Apple
L: Soup, 4 rice cakes and peanut butter
Snack: 2 dates
Snack: 4 oatcakes & honey
D: Tuna sandwich, carrot, beetroot, then 2 sq dark chocolate

So many snacks. A walk this morning, no other exercise. I finished dinner at 5.30, will try not to eat again until breakfast but I'm hungry! Or bored? Or tired? Or just in the habit of stuffing myself every evening?

Pommelegible · 30/05/2022 19:27

Swimsuit looks really nice @thislittlebird. I’ve always been put off one pieces because growing up I was completely flat chested and they made me look even more so but I think modern ones are more shaped and flattering. Maybe I should try again.

@Cathy31 all looks healthy though? Do you like sparkling water? I’ve been drinking that when I want a snack and it helps some of the time.

I read a book last week that was heavily food based, the characters were always going out for dinner or to a cafe for hot chocolate or out for a few drinks. I realised that was probably contributing to my hunger last week 😆

Today
tea x2
2 weetabix with oat milk
coffee with oat milk
1 slice cheese on toast, some salad, 4 crackers, 2 chocolates
green tea
water
a version of shakshuka, 1 slice roast pork, 3 potato wedges
water
2 more chocolates 🤦🏻‍♀️

Sooverthemill · 30/05/2022 19:29

Sorry I've been awol.
@Knittingnanny2 have a lovely time!
everyone else about to go in holidays too

we went out for dinner on Saturday and I was very sensible ( I think) and I've tried to continue sensible eating. I've lost a couple of pounds so that all good. I wa t to make sure I can wear all my summer clothes when that eventually arrives!

Knittingnanny2 · 30/05/2022 19:38

@Sooverthemill im trying not to join in with American sized portions!

thislittlebird · 30/05/2022 21:14

@Pommelegible I never used to like them because I felt kinda dull but they seem to be so much more varied now. I feel like I’ll be the odd one out and everyone else around will be in bikinis but I wanted to buy a few to hide the belly I’d been cultivating lol. I have got it down but still not sure if I feel comfortable in regular rise bikini bottoms, high rise I could do. We’ll be in our own villa mostly though.

My food today has been

  • joe wicks cacao, banana and peanut butter protein shake

  • Ginger nut biscuit

  • A small amount of olives and feta

  • two fish fingers and salad (using up freezer food)

  • a digestive biscuit

  • Pan fried salmon fillet with Mediterranean veg roasted in olive oil and harissa

Probably too many biscuits today, I could eat more though! It was a real struggle to convince myself to do 30 day shred today, but I did it and was glad I did after. I’ve done level 2 for 9 or 10 days now, I guess I should move on to level 3 for the rest of this week 😬

Pommelegible · 31/05/2022 20:24

Lots of food consumed today, and no exercise. Ugh. Oh well tomorrow is another day.

B 2 weetabix and oat milk. picked at some of ds’ leftovers which is ridiculous as not even a cereal I like
L ham and cornichon sandwich on sourdough, could have eaten about 4 of these! 2 crackers, 6 grapes, a satsuma, 2 squares of dark chocolate
D lasagne, green salad, banoffee pie (ds cooked)

usual drinks

Cathy31 · 01/06/2022 10:03

@Pommelegible yeah, I think my diet is usually pretty healthy, I just eat too much. @thislittlebird50.2kg today. I'm delighted as was sure it would be at least a kg more. Maybe just maybe I'll be below 50 on Monday...

Plan for today:
B - 5 oatcakes and peanut butter, grapes, tangerine
L - veg soup, bread and butter
D - maybe fish cake, peas, carrots, maybe with an egg if I'm really hungry. Prob a g&t too as I'm off work the rest of the week.

No exercise today. Because I can't be bothered.

Cathy31 · 01/06/2022 10:05

@thislittlebird no idea why I tagged you in that post, sorry! A bikini is my goal too though.

thislittlebird · 01/06/2022 13:31

@Cathy31 50.2kg is great! I’m not sure I’ve ever been that when I think about it. I’m about 64.5kg now I think and I’m not sure my weight will drop that much even if my shape changes, if that makes sense. But I’ll be happy if I can get to about 9st/57kg I’d be please with that. Not sure will manage that much for a while, maybe 9.5st. I’m getting back into 10s now which is a relief. I swapped this jumpsuit in a 12 for a 10 yesterday which was nice:
www.fatface.com/women/clothing/jumpsuits-playsuits/natalie-paisley-jumpsuit/972807.html

It’s got a really nice neckline you can adjust to suit you.

I didn’t do any exercise yesterday but I had a calorie deficit and today I did level 3 of 30 day shred for the first time which was intense 😬. Bit too much jumping for my liking.

SwimmingOnEggshells · 01/06/2022 14:56

Lovely swimsuit @thislittlebird, very flattering shape.

Going ok here, but I had a blip the other day when I ate 3/4s a tub of Häagen-Dazs which I'm very annoyed with myself about because I've been so focused otherwise. So no weight lost in over a week now which isn't surprising, grrr.

On the upside I got through week 4 of c25k and tomorrow I'm starting week 5 which is three runs of 5 minutes each, can't believe I've made it this far!

OP posts:
thislittlebird · 01/06/2022 15:08

@SwimmingOnEggshells try not to beat yourself up, it happens. You can get back on the wagon and you’re doing great with c25k. I did it years ago and getting to week 5 felt very good.

Yeah it really is, I had to filter out a lot of the high leg cut ones to get to the more flattering fit swimming costumes.

Got some super cute lilac Demi shorts in a 10 from Next, I had to return the 12 and buy the 10! They’re still slightly snug but the 12 was too big. I’ll lose some more when I get back and they’ll fit me better still. This is them www.next.co.uk/g643s6/m72988?dp=a&gbraid=0AAAAADm_5UXA8eNvTHvw4Var78vZKxaWL&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_u76h7aM-AIVEed3Ch0NiwnWEAQYASABEgKZ-_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds#m72988&gbraid=0AAAAADm_5UXA8eNvTHvw4Var78vZKxaWL

It’s really nice to be fitting into 10s again.
