WOW 😯 Where did February go … A Warm Welcome to New and existing Members alike! Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Argh don't know what went wrong in my post - that was supposed to be tags to @ImALittlePea & @SingaporeSlinky Smile

HouseofHolbein · 02/03/2022 09:23

Weighed in this morning 1lb down on yesterday which confirms my thinking that it was crisp bloat and water retention really.

Not working this evening 😱 so I’m making a veggie chilli this evening which I am really looking forward to 😊

Lzzyisgod · 02/03/2022 10:44

Thank you for the welcome !

I'm.utterly determined to shift this weight this time. I just want to feel happier in my own skin

pennysays · 02/03/2022 10:46

Hi All,

Wednesday weigh in makes me:

SW: 80kg
CW: 72.4kg
GW: errrr?!

Feel like I'm getting into a rhythm... though it's always like this until I hit a bump in the road and then like @ImALittlePea I want to self-soothe with food. So how to get past that? This seems to be the real goal is a mind-set shift where eating all the food is not a treat or a way to look after myself, but, in fact the opposite. I tried to do the intuitive eating course, but found eating and doing nothing else, deeply inconvinient to fit around all my other life stuff.

Crazzzycat · 02/03/2022 10:52

Morning all! 74.5 kg on the scales this morning. While that’s still firmly under 75kg, which was my goal for February, the scales have been stuck on that number for two weeks now. It’d been nice to see some movement, but I guess I just have to be a bit more patient.

I’m expecting a difficult day today. I’m helping my DH with making a complaint to his employer and the multiple references to him feeling suicidal because of how he’s been treated are hard to read. I don’t think he’d act on it, but it’s terrible to see someone that broken by their job 😔

mner1896 · 02/03/2022 10:56

Morning!

First weigh in today, 9st 11.6lbs....I managed to get down to 9st8 last year and stalled so I'm hoping to get down close to 9st this time....and then I'll re-assess when I get to that point!

Walked for an hour every morning this week so far, haven't managed to fit any exercise in yet though. Food wise - I feel like I'm in the zone again and not over complicating things like I sometimes do!

youdoyoutoday · 02/03/2022 10:59

Weighed in, 14.1 as suspected!

Didnt go to bootcamp this morning, the house turned in to a madhouse last night with a missing costume for school! I was in tears trying to find the bloody thing which turned out to crammed in to the bottom of the wardrobe!! DS swears in wasn't him but it wouldn't have been me! Bedlam!! I really do hate being a sahm sometimes and I just want to give up trying so bloody hard to make things nice!! Urgh!!

So today lent begins, no wine, no treats, 40 days! Great!

SingaporeSlinky · 02/03/2022 11:19

Morning all, I don’t usually count the fractions of pounds, but I’m claiming the loss of a quarter pound for the past week, officially declaring at 9st 9 3/4 😂

My Chinese takeaway /water retention has come off nicely this week as I was up to 9st 13 on Monday morning.

SW 10st 7
CW 9st 9 3/4
GW 9st 7

TheRealHousewife · 02/03/2022 11:27

@Crazzzycat that must be so tough for you both. I'm sending a hug and warm wishes. Look after yourselves! Flowers

Hello to @TheRealHousewife for your warm welcome and to everyone else on this thread.

Just an ask - could we add BMI and also height, please, for context?

My height is 5ft 6.5" (169cm) and BMI 24.2. Starting weight 10st 13.5 lbs.

8stone13 · 02/03/2022 11:47

@mner1896 I was 9s 11lb on New Year's Day, am now hovering around 9s 2lb. I'd like to get down to my username but tbh I feel ok as I am now. Good luck with your journey 🙂

@Crazzzycat That is so hard for you & your poor DH 😟 All the best with the complaint. Sending hugs Thanks

Foreverlexicon · 02/03/2022 15:18

I’m having a good day.

I survived pancake day yesterday within my calories but skipped the gym - was absolutely knackered after work and felt a bit gloomy.

Today went to the gym start after work and did a treadmill 5k and arms/legs so feeling pleased. Just having a quick coffee before I go drag the horse in from the rain.

We have our last hello fresh meal tonight - got a free box from a referral. It’s been lovely and I find something strangely enjoyable about opening the bag of ingredients but most of the recipes were 750 calories so between that and a heavy weekend, I think I’m going to find things much easier after today when I’m not using half my calories for dinner!

Hopped on the scale this morning in pjs and only up a pound from Saturday now so hopeful that by Monday I’ll be back to that and a tad lower.

kagerou · 02/03/2022 16:02

@8stone13, yep that was me!

8stone13 · 02/03/2022 16:10

Ah yes @kagerou Hello 👋🏻 😀

Mwahhahaha · 02/03/2022 16:10

Hello all!
Can I join please? Just been and got some scales and I have just weighed myself and am 76kg (11st 9ish). I want to get down to 9 and a half stone so have a way to go. Hoping you guys will keep me on the straight and narrow!

missmysize6 · 02/03/2022 16:18

Name changing for this thread and so it's easier to keep track @8stone13 :)

Just did first weigh in and SW is 8st 11lb

Went for an hour walk with the buggy today (Yay!) but kinda ruined it by passing by my favourite bakery and buying a lemon bakewell (not yay)

Also started the my fitness pal app so will see how that goes.

SunshineCake1 · 02/03/2022 17:02

Welcome @Wheelerdeeler. Most of us have self sabotaged. Use it as a bonus. You did it, it upset you. Use it to boost you to not doing it again.

Well done on your exercise @fallfallfall. Do you hate all fish? There are so many why not stop eating the ones you don't like and try something new? Or just not eat it. There are other ways to get what you need after all.

Welcome @Lzzyisgod. Hope it goes well for you this month.

Thank you @TheRealHousewife. Currently still struggling. Just feel like something will happen this week with DD. The war is getting to me. It doesn't feel like Russia is that far from us and all those people dying for no reason 💔. Well done on your loss.

I stayed the same. Didn't run or walk the dog today but I did spend all morning doing a lot of cleaning.

If I'm really struggling @pennysays I drink some water, say I can have it in 20 minutes and then go and paint my nails. Usually forget what I wanted and know I wasn't really hungry.

@Crazzzycat. I hope your day wasn't as bad as you feared. I know how you must be feeling. I am constantly living in a state of fear with DD and come days it is acute, some times I forget for a few moments, even hours at times, but when it hits it is brutal. DH and I love for the blue ticks Sad.

Glad you are having a good day @Foreverlexicon.

Making stir fried chicken and noodles from my new cook book for dh and I.

SunshineCake1 · 02/03/2022 17:05

Welcome @Mwahhahaha

@missmysize6 were you @8stone13 Confused

fallfallfall · 02/03/2022 17:18

158.7 so still under 160 but not near 155 which is where i had hoped to be.
@SunshineCake1, i will eat wild sockeye fillets which have all the skin removed before hitting my plate. i will eat halibut again boneless and skinless, i will eat white albacore tined tuna. jumbo tiger prawns and scallops (i need to be really really in the right head space to eat the scallops). nothing too fishy in flavor, certainly not chinese fish sauce or seaweed flavored anything.
i'm heading to montreal for a week (from the 20-27) so that will affect my exercise. but i only have to meet all three of my fitness goals 19 times this month to earn the apple watch march challenge.
positive thoughts everyone :)

Rewis · 02/03/2022 17:25

Thanks for the new thread!
I've started my 8 week programme. I have to say that thus far it involves eating very often. The trainer says that first week is a lot of food to get body used to the cycle but then it will be reduced. I already have an instinct to kinda modify but I'm not gonna do that. Got to trust the system.

I've been filling uk family permit paperwork for immigration today. I'm so gutted that I didn't realise that I could have applied personal permit earlier but due to stupid covid I was unable to travel and decided to stay out of the country and missed my window. This makes me grave chocolate.

missmysize6 · 02/03/2022 17:51

@SunshineCake1, I Changed from kagerou, thought i posted right underneath but guess there was some posts in between lol

ImALittlePea · 02/03/2022 18:36

Well done, hugs and welcomes to all.

That must be tough @Crazzzycat - I hope you and DH are ok 💐

I've had a better day - Wednesdays tend to be less stressful as I'm child free 😬😆 still pretty busy but in a way of my own choosing (for the most part, anyway).

My best friend is getting married tomorrow and I've been invited for a prosecco with her and her mum/sister. DH says I should go considering what it's for, but then there goes my no midweek wines for the month if I do. Gah.

8stone13 · 02/03/2022 22:53

No I'm still me @SunshineCake1 😀

Wizzwazzwas · 02/03/2022 23:24

Hello
I’d like to join please!

Starting weight 91:5kg
Need to lose... a tonne. I think 67.5kg is top of normal range for me, but I haven’t been in that range since 2001 Last time I was on track (pre-pandemic) I got to 72-74kg.

My basic plan is loosely Mediterranean-style, cut out any/all added sugar, low grain/refined carbs and try to eat only wholemeal carbs lie small amounts of brown rice or lentils, and avoiding pasta. Eat loads of veg and some fruit daily. More nuts, fish and olive oil. Plus give up bread completely for Lent.

On day 3 and going ok so far.

I record what I eat on mfp, but am trying not worry too much about calories as long as around 1200-1500 ish. Try not to fuss about the odd day over that. This is because I have history of losing fast and then regaining.

I have been ill a lot recently and need to rebuild an exercise routine from scratch. This will take a while and I’m trying to accept that and take small steps.

SanFranBear · 03/03/2022 00:44

Had a pretty slack day today.. all good until dinner but then a friend came to visit and we went to an 'All You Can Eat' place and I properly ate all I could! I did manage an 8km hike earlier in the day but no way will that counter what I wolfed down. Ah well, tomorrow is a lower calorie day and I then weigh on Fridays - could be a bit hairy this week!

Ambushed - does the Keto800 diet mean you only eat 800 calories a day? Or is it a fasting type thing... sorry I know I could Google but ketosis sounds intriguing!!
