WOW 😯 Where did February go … A Warm Welcome to New and existing Members alike! Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

@SunshineCake1, recovered in some ways but none the less scarred. I was relentless with my calls, accessing her emails, and bank account. Messaging and receiving messages from random people following up on the airport security staff each shift.
When she was returned to Canada the police offered me a job in finding missing people, claimed I was a natural. I was just an insane mother. She was over the age of 20, I was really really blessed they paid attention. As an adult in theory they said she was allowed to do as she pleased but because another country was involved they helped out.

Crazzzycat · 26/03/2022 19:40

I’m so sorry to read your update @SunshineCake1 and also to read what you’ve been through @fallfallfall. Heartbreaking stuff 😔

SunshineCake1 · 26/03/2022 20:45

Thanks @Crazzzycat. apparently I'm hounding her as I tried to ring again I'm so tired as well as devastated and scared

HouseofHolbein · 26/03/2022 21:29

Lots of love to you @SunshineCake1 💕 really hope you get good news very soon 💕

fallfallfall · 26/03/2022 21:47

Well @SunshineCake1, you wouldn’t be hounding her if you were reassured about her location, physical and mental health.

SunshineCake1 · 27/03/2022 04:03

Quite @fallfallfall.

I can't sleep. Feel in shock. Terrified. So sad for her.

SunshineCake1 · 27/03/2022 06:50

Should clarify a friend said I was. Not dd. She's not sent us a single message since she went. She said she wouldn't keep in touch but I thought there would be something. I've been awake since about three again. I'm exhausted.

TheRealHousewife · 27/03/2022 08:04

Morning all! I had a great day yesterday. I spent most of it walking in the hills around my town, starting from sea level. It was a bit of a climb, but we were rewarded with lovely views of the mountains, sea and lots of wild ponies. I’m planning something gentler today.

Have a good day everyone!

TheRealHousewife · 27/03/2022 12:05

Sounds like you had a great day @Crazzzycat! The great outdoors and the accompanying wild life is good for the soul. Spring like weather and lighter nights makes it easier to do stuff outdoors!

Happy Mother's Day to you all. My dd has tested positive for covid today so we are not going out like we were going to, we're going to have takeaway instead.
I weighed this morning, in anticipation of having a bit of a day off today, and was 3.5lbs down for my first week which I'm very happy about. I know it won't carry on like that!

TheRealHousewife · 27/03/2022 15:31

That’s great progress @Akite 👍👏Sorry to read your daughter has contracted covid. Wishing her a speedy recovery!

SanFranBear · 27/03/2022 16:48

Great result, Akite - enjoy your day and hope your DD bounces back quickly.

We went for an 'All you can eat' buffet to celebrate this lunchtime with a bubble tea for the walk back... over indulged doesn't even come close. I don't weigh until Fridays thank goodness as am in a slight food coma this afternoon! Luckily, don't have anything to do other than read my book and stroke my little pusscats, so I'm happy!

Happy Mothers Day to you all Flowers

BellyDancer124 · 27/03/2022 16:55

Well done Akite! Grin

TheRealHousewife · 28/03/2022 09:02

Morning!

My weekend has fallen off the wagon a bit. I walked 10.4 miles on Saturday but had toast with peanut butter and marmite for breakfast, a Greggs cheese slice for lunch, half a chocolate muffin and then for my boyfriend's birthday meal had moussaka, dolmades, some feta cheese pie but didn't have dessert just had chocolate birthday cake. Plus lots of alcohol and dancing.

Sunday breakfast - I had toast with peanut butter and marmite, saw mum for mother's day and had quiche, potato salad and salad when out for lunch with her and in the evening had a bean stew meal (with veggies including courgettes, peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, kidney beans, avocado, sour cream and cheese) and rice but was naughty and had 2 Waitrose flapjack fingers, a Lindt salted caramel bar and some cheesy nachos with salsa (to soak up the alcohol from the night before). I did have a walk with my mum for about 30 minutes which was heron watching, watching the baby herons (they're huge!) (Kelsey Park in Beckenham) I weighed myself this morning and I'm still 11 stone 3llbs which I'm surprised about.

Breakfast this morning is oatsosimple with skimmed milk, blueberries and small amount honey.

Gonnagetgoing · 28/03/2022 09:45

@TheRealHousewife - is your menu for today breakfast and lunch or lunch and dinner?

Gonnagetgoing · 28/03/2022 09:49

@Akite - hope your DD recovers soon! Cases are rising - a good friend of mine got it this weekend.

@SunshineCake1 - all you can do is be there for your daughter, you and DH and she knows that. I never ran away though. One of my best friends ran away (was very rebellious) and ended up as a teenager in Ireland (with an Irish boyfriend) where she lived and worked for a few years before returning home to London. She luckily did keep in touch with her parents (and me) but I think she needed a break from London.

Akite · 28/03/2022 10:04

Morning @TheRealHousewife
Happy to weigh in this morning and find the cream tea didn't do too much damage.
Back to it today!

Youdoyoutoday · 28/03/2022 10:15

Morning all.

@SunshineCake1 I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles with your daughter, its heart breaking to read.

Welcome to the newbies!

Weighed in at 14 stones 1lb this morning which means I've lost a lb since Friday. Not sure sure how as its been a rather indulgent weekend. Had a great mother's day even though my son broke my phone and my daughter head butted me so now I have a bruised nose! Looking sexy!!

Really feeling crappy today with a cold and slight cough, didnt go to bootcamp this morning as I didn't get a wink of sleep last night, I'm so bored of not sleeping.

I have no more nights out booked until May now so I'm going to hibernate in April, concentrate on the basics, good food, sleep, exercise and no alcohol.

Happy twisty melon Monday!!

Crazzzycat · 28/03/2022 10:30

I’m still here @TheRealHousewife 👋 Just not wanting to admit to the weekend’s excess! That, combined with two weeks of stress eating, resulted in a 2 lbs gain this morning. I know it’s time to rein it in it, but at the same time I’m just so bored of calorie counting at the moment.

Anyway, I made good progress on my 2022 km in 2022 challenge last week - 72.16 km, which brings the total for the year to 775.78 km. I also broke my cross trainer record, so at least some of those extra calories are fuelling something and not just turning to fat 😂

SingaporeSlinky · 28/03/2022 11:06

I’m still here too. Just a sticky toffee pudding and custard to send me over calories yesterday but had a long walk to limit the damage.

Legs, bums & tums class this morning plus cross trainer and 1500m rowing.

Greek yoghurt, granola, grapes for lunch.
Chicken salad for dinner.

@Crazzzycat - my eating this weekend was partly stress eating! I'm the same as you - I hate calorie counting right now.

The one thing I will say - my Lindt salted caramel bar didn't give me the required hit it used to, so that won't be bought again!

ImALittlePea · 28/03/2022 12:08

Here 👋 @TheRealHousewife - just had a bit of a switch off over the weekend.

Didn't have too bad a weekend diet-wise. My plan so far this year has been to restrict in the week and relax at the weekend, but now my appetite has changed to the point where I don't really want much of what I'm cutting out at the weekends either. We normally buy some large bags of posh crisps which we much through over the course of a weekend, but haven't done that for over two weeks now. It doesn't feel as much like hard work to not have it any more.

Really trying to focus in on everything this week. I've reached the stage now where people are starting to notice that I'm slimming down, which is such a boost. It's my birthday early next week but we have plans over the entire weekend to celebrate with various pockets of friends and family - so I know I'm going to be wayyyyy off course after that. So gotta do what I can this week to offset that as much as possible! (And then hope the older habits don't creep back in - blooming school holidays start this weekend too which I always struggle with. Gah.)

Happy Monday everyone 🙂

BaconAndAvocado · 28/03/2022 12:26

Holy moly, I had a very bad weekend!
Too many Mother's Day Lindors yesterday and a takeaway Saturday night....

Back on the regime today 👊🏻
