WOW 😯 Where did February go … A Warm Welcome to New and existing Members alike! Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day.

Morning all!
Yippee I've lost another pound, now down to 9st 6.5lb. This time last year I was a stone heavier.

Next week's weigh-in may be different as I've got a cream tea tomorrow and carvery meal out on Sunday but, for now, I feel great 😊

Morning everyone

Not had a perfect diet this week but had a "good enough' diet which I'm happy about as its sustainable. No chocolate, snacks just 3 normal healthyish meals a day.

I'm away this weekend at the Lake District. I'm going to allow myself to eat what I want in restaurants but I'm not going to stop for sweet treats and sugary drinks.

I'm not weighing myself but I felt a top I wear yesterday fit a bit better

OMG!! I think my scales are broken!

14 stones 2lbs this morning 😱😱

Means I've put on nearly 3lbs this week!! And I've got dinner outboth Saturday and Sunday this week!

Think I need a full shake up come Monday!!

First check in for me as a newbie...

3lb down my first week so I'm very happy and a bit relieved actually. I was so afraid I wouldn't lose anything and go into next week feeling demotivated. Fingers crossed for next week.

Dashing off to London for a few days. Kids are with my ex for a block of time as they haven't been with her much since Christmas due to a very busy period for her at work. I've had a few difficult things to deal with work-wise recently & have struggled to keep a healthy perspective at times. I've managed to delay two deadlines until I get back as despite putting the hours in I'd got to the unproductive burnt out stage. So I'm going to see friends, have a wander, let my overstimulated Autistic brain settle. I won't be weighing until next Thurs by which time I expect to be the size of house! But I've learnt that I can get back down again after a few days of treats if I'm sensible & there's no point denying myself when I'm on a 'holiday' to try & reset & boost my mental health 👍🏻

@SunshineCake1 This is awful. I hope there is news soon 🤞🏻😔

So I was out last night - shared bottle of Prosecco between 3 of us. Had poppadom and garlic naan (1 of each), butter chicken and a lot of rice and some other curry chicken dish plus Saag Aloo and Tarka Dhal. Then had G&T afterwards with slimline tonic.

Had approx 1 hour walking (between tubes and off bus).

When I got home had Toffee Crisp and half a bag of bbq flavour hula hoops.

This morning had tea and Oatso simple with blueberries and small bit honey.

Probably 11 stone 2 to 3 llbs.

Planning on a run at lunch and after work and long walk of 19km maybe more tomorrow.

I learned last night (usually see friends and boyfriend) as I saw some ex work colleagues (also friends) that it is so important to keep your network open and enjoy yourself! After my week (and tears!) it was great to have a meal out/drinks out and just have fun.

We went for a walk down by the river last night and we saw an otter cub fleetingly. Very cute 🥰

I’m a pound down since Wednesday’s weigh-in! 9st 3.5lbs
Being back at the gym has made me ravenous though. Had a very small portion of oven chips with last night’s tuna steak and spinach, then had one scoop of salted butterscotch ice cream since everyone else was. I literally weighed it out 😂 and ended up with a total of 1194 cals for the day so I was pleased with that.

Did a 45 min spin class again this morning, 5 mins rowing (1000m) - maybe the rowing experts here could tell me if that’s terrible or not 🙂 and a short uphill walk on the treadmill. Felt like that was plenty for a Friday.

My target was 9st 6lb but as I seem to be on a roll, I’m going to try and get down to 9st. A bit daft really as I think maintaining that weight would be difficult for me but we shall see.

I’d really like to be the weight I am now for our holiday in August but not sure how I’m going to maintain it without losing anymore weight, if that makes sense.
As soon as I take my eye off the ball, my weight rises.

@BaconAndAvocado it’s funny because until a few months ago I was so not an exercise person! I used to drive everywhere, hated walking, still hate running now. But I see the difference it’s making and my legs, hips and bum are all smaller, so I want to do as much as I can.
I’m the same as you, my initial goal was 9st 5ish but I wasn’t sure I’d do it. Now I’ve got 2 weeks until my holiday and I’m just going to see how low I can get, maybe 9st. Maintaining after holiday will be the tricky bit, because that’s been the main motivation. Although with the energy I have now, and the confidence, I really don’t want to put it back on again, so will stay on these threads for sure.

@SingaporeSlinky, I’m not much faster than you in spite of doing a fair bit of rowing, so I think that’s a decent time you did.

I made the mistake once of looking at some of the rowing groups on Facebook...some people row 500 metres in less than 1:30 😱 I’m sure they’re all male, early 20s and at least 6 foot 5 though...so not exactly comparable to me! I think as long as you feel you had a good work out that’s the main thing that matters 🙂

Hey everyone 👋 been having a snoop around on your thread and thought I'd drop in and introduce myself. Im on a mission to lose a stone by the summer which is roughly a lb a week so achievable if I stay consistent. I'm 10 stone so not much to lose, I've lost weight before and know what works but of course it's getting harder as I age! 44 now. I've lost a few lbs this month by 18:6 intermittent fasting, eating LOADS of fruit and veggies and protein, sticking under 1400 calories and keeping the house clear of both chocolate and nut butters which are my kryptonire. I do hot yoga 3 times a week and have an intermittent running habit which is the first thing to drop when I'm busy but hoping to get my arse back into gear as I've a half marathon to train for. Looking forward to the chats and motivating each other! X

There's no wrong thing @TheRealHousewife. I am so sad. It is breaking my heart seeing my husband cry. The police rang at midnight and I am waiting ri dh to wake up as I couldn't take in what the call was about. Where is she????? I need her home. She's my baby. I'm her mum and I've protected her and thought for her her whole life and now she won't let me help her. Please come home dd. Please. Please. Please.

@SunshineCake1, my dd was found. My mother contacted me (because she was staying with her). I contacted the RCMP, who told me to contact the police in Las Vegas. I was given a list of jails, shelters, hospitals to contact. Las Vegas police found her on security cameras trying to return to Canada. Of concern to everyone was her lack of funds, $18 in her bank account. Eventually the big guns “homeland security”, approached her, were concerned she could get into legal trouble (drugs prostitution etc) and escorted her home. Whereby the RCMP did a full strip search. She blamed my mother initially.
She was suppose to attend a friends bachelorette party, never showed up to that.
Secretly I hoped her passport would have been suspended or something but it wasn’t.
This escapade was similar in intensity to a couple previous misadventures in growing up.

I'm glad your dd was found @fallfallfall and I hope you have all recovered from the scare.

I'm worried about the effect this is having on dh. He's been in tears today and I hid in the bathroom and cried this morning. Just sitting in a daze. Sleep for less than four hours a night. Have lost weight. Can't face food. Just terrifying.
