Something else that doesn't make sense to me....why they say not to split the dose of Saxenda. I'd have thought one dose in the morning and one in the evening might help?

I have taken many meds in my life and often the reasoning for things is not clinical.

@EmmaH2022 start of your new week. You got this 🙌

Sunshinedreaming2022 · 23/02/2022 15:25

sorry to hear you didn't loose any weight this week @EmmaH2022. Fresh start this week and hopefully it will fall off.
I envy anyone who has every been a size 10. I would love to know what it feels like to be that small as I have never quite made it. I was a size 12 when I was 12, a 14 at 14 and yep you guessed it - a 16 at age 16. that's when my years of yo-yo dieting started as I never wanted to hit that 18 so I have spent the last 20years somewhere between a 12 and a 16 - mostly at a 14 though. My dream dress size is a 10! fingers crossed I will finally make it this year.
My starting weight was 12st13lbs. Would love to get into the 9s!

LittleMissQuiz · 23/02/2022 22:03

I have my pens in the fridge ready for the morning!!

Can’t wait

I’ve remembered to measure myself and I’ve started to do MFP to calorie count but I’m not very good at keeping to 1500 which is what k should be aiming for apparently.

I’m going to be tracking my ‘journey’ on Instagram (@thesecretsaxendaslimmer) if anyone wants to follow me

lkjhgfd · 24/02/2022 01:09

Has anyone actually managed to get this prescribed by their gp? I really want to try it but no way can I afford it at the moment. I know a few people have said gps can prescribe if your bmi is over 35 (mine is hovering around 40 I think!) but are all trusts different?

Sunshinedreaming2022 · 24/02/2022 12:44

@lkjhgfd I don't think its even trusts really - every GP is different. and some don't know an awful lot about it and would rather prescribe orlistat. It's always worth asking them, worst they will say is no and you will just have to pay privately.
It is expensive (though not half has bad as in America - I found out yesterday that they pay $400 per pen!!), but don't forget your food bill will decrease to offset it.
Cheeky mid-week weigh in today and another 1.4lb lost. Swam 650m this afternoon so feeling good. Also 2 days of injecting into the thigh again and zero sickness
How is everyone else getting on today?

Orangemoon77 · 24/02/2022 14:41

Well done @Sunshinedreaming2022! That’s amazing! I am back to thigh injecting as well and absolutely fine!

EmmaH2022 · 24/02/2022 17:29

Hope everyone is okay

I was silly today...a friend was in the area on my lunch break so I joined her in the cafe. I wasn't actually hungry but felt bad sitting in there and not ordering food so I had a lunch I didn't want.

Thinking I can skip dinner or just have fruit.

Orangemoon77 · 24/02/2022 17:45

@EmmaH2022 you’ve still gotta eat, don’t feel bad. I’m off to have a Wagamama’s for dinner and cannot wait!

EmmaH2022 · 24/02/2022 17:59
@EmmaH2022 you’ve still gotta eat, don’t feel bad. I’m off to have a Wagamama’s for dinner and cannot wait!
Oh sure, I love Wagamama

But I don't feel hungry till about 4 on Saxenda (most days) so eating at 1 seems silly.

I came home with that odd bloated stomach you get when you've eaten a meal with zero hunger. But as I say, hopefully no dinner. I should have eaten a salad but I rather resent paying for salad.

Oh @EmmaH2022 don’t feel bad. My dd made lemon drizzle cake and yup I ate a slice and have gone over my daily calorie goal by about 65calories. Oh well I’m not too worried.
This weekend will be terrible though as we have a birthday in the house so it’s going to be cake and takeaways and a real test of my diet

ImSaxyAndIKnowIt · 24/02/2022 21:47

I’ve gone up to 1.2 today, I’m definitely feeling more hungry and that ‘not bothered’ about food feeling has gone and I’ve just had some chocolate buttons to snack on which I haven’t snacked at all since I started so I’ve moved up finally. Hoping they don’t knock me ill, I’m going away for the weekend

EmmaH2022 · 24/02/2022 23:08

Saxy not going on a hunt for mythical creatures, by any chance? Grin

OP posts:
Sunshinedreaming2022 · 25/02/2022 09:54

Yup last night was a disaster - I was just really hungry and couldn't stop eating. I'm worried I now need to increase dose even though I really don't want to. So this morning I did 0.6+ 1 extra click. Maybe I was just having a hungry day after my workout earlier on.

Ooo I'm interest in this mythical creature hunt. I will also be spending tomorrow hunting creatures but I don't necessarily think they are the same ones you are referring to...... (unless yours are also Japanese with sparkles)

EmmaH2022 · 25/02/2022 10:33

Sunshine maybe you were just having a hungry day.

Hopefully today will be better for all of us!

Hope it’s ok to join - I’m on Ozempic.

Read about it in the press and was intrigued. I had read about Saxenda but was a bit wary. Was more tempted by Ozempic as it seems to have an effect on insulin as well as appetite suppressing.

I went down the private online pharmacy route and started ten days ago. No,bad side effects. A bit of constipation and some heartburn. Woke up feeling quite ill one night but that passed.

Weighed in on Monday after my first week and I lost 5.5 Pounds. Was really chuffed. Hadn’t felt I was eating too differently really. Started at 16st and was 15st 8.5 after the first week.

This week I’m eating noticeably less as I just can’t eat much. I’m still drinking wine but I get queasy abut half way into my second glass so it’s easy to stop.

I’m really pleased I found it. I’ve been dieting for, over 30 years with varying degrees of success but I get stuck. Some close friends and MIL have said they can’t understand why I’m as big as I am as I eat less then they do. Even when I’m really sticking to a diet the weight is really slow to come off. Was so chuffed to lose so much last week.

Welcome Peridot

I love peridot, as it happens.

You're doing so well!

No one understands my size either. Well, neither do I!

Hey, hello 👋

Just collected my first set of pens... wondering if I should take the plunge and inject tonight or tomorrow morning? How easy is it to change injection times if you don't get on with the time you initially select?

Thanks

EmmaH2022 · 26/02/2022 15:53

Hi Ralley, welcome

I have been taking mine in the evening but others will have different experiences.

I’m a morning jab person - I’m up before everyone else and it helps keep it a secret from everyone

EmmaH2022 · 26/02/2022 21:13

I'm convinced the injection makes me tired
But maybe I should change to daytime.
This week I have found myself feeling really hungry quite suddenly.

I was hoping this would spare me another attempt at calorie counting etc but I don't think that's going to work.

I have decided to give up chocolate for Lent, only I've started today. Easy enough not to buy it but have to resist it at Mum's. Would like to lose the taste for it.

I did this years ago when I wasn't fat, but I wanted to support a colleague who had 10+ stone to lose. I have lost touch with her but I wish I had never had chocolate that Easter. I had forgotten what it tasted like and lost interest in it. Should have stayed that way but I was a size 8 then and ate whatever I fancied!

Saw my OH for the first time in a week and he said "Oof, you've lost weight!"

Great! I look exactly the same as I've lost so little.

I am suddenly really feeling yesterday's workout as well.

Sorry to moan. I just suddenly went all, ooof, my shoulders!

Hey guys - I'm rubbish at posted regularly but I've been lurking a while.

I'm on day 2 and heartburn is awful awful awful - what can I get for quick relief?? I hate chewing tablets and can just about tolerate drinking stuff but willing to try anything!!

Peridot1 · 27/02/2022 07:48

Thanks @EmmaH2022. I love peridot too!
