Really interesting to hear about Wegovy, been following it on the news. Proper game changer! It’s very tempting when the Jabs are weekly rather than daily.

I’ve just upped my dose to 1.2mg, hoping it’s all ok today. 3lb weight loss in the first week so I’m thrilled with that. Hope everyone has a good week!

Sunshinedreaming2022 · 21/02/2022 10:04

I worry if its weekly then I am likely to forget to take it. At least daily I can just slot it into my routine. I'm quite disorganised and forgetful though so that's probably just a me problem.
So today marks day 7 and I've lost 3lbs in a week. I'm very happy with that, I know its not the huge losses that other experience but I don't loose weight very easily so its good for me. I need to stop weighing daily now though and just weigh in each Monday instead.
Happy to have the dc back in school so I can go to the gym in a bit. Hope everyone else has a great start to their week

Totally not just you. I have to change my HRT patches on a Tuesday and a Friday. Been on it two years. I'm not sure there's more than one week where I've been successful 😂

Hi all

I've just had mine approved and I await the text from Boots to collect.

A billion years ago I did a clinical trial in to another gastric hormone called PYY in which I injected every day. I did lose weight as I felt sick all the live long day, I was so sensitive to the hormone I was reduced to half doses. not really a billion

I've got about 35kg to lose in total (I've decided to work in kg as I like metric numbers) but I'm taking this in chunks - rather than focusing on the whole number.

I'm on holiday in May - 13kg would be nice but 9.5kg would be fab.

Then on holiday again in August where another 13kg would be amazing - again 9.5kg would be amazing.

Hoping for the remainder by the end of the year - when I'll be broke but thinner.

I'm starting at 110kg (lovely round number - 17s7lb ish in old money), but what I really need to remember is to measure myself which is something I never remember to do.

EmmaH2022 · 21/02/2022 12:06

My concern with a weekly injection is if you react badly to it, or need to take something else that is contraindicated.

I was so worried about just taking this!

Orangemoon77 · 21/02/2022 12:23

Good luck @LittleMissQuiz

Orangemoon77 · 21/02/2022 12:26

I think the daily injections feel better for me at the moment. It has a shorter life span in your body so if there’s a reaction it’s short lived. That’s my concern with the weekly option.

@LittleMissQuiz I still work in old money but trying really hard with KG going forward. My aim was to lose 12kg (2 stone) by the end of may… not sure I can do it! Will see 🤞

Sunshinedreaming2022 · 21/02/2022 13:44

welcome @LittleMissQuiz and good luck on your saxenda journey. I have it written in my planner to measure myself on the 15th of every month otherwise I will also forget.

ImSaxyAndIKnowIt · 21/02/2022 14:51

So weighed myself this morning and lost 3 and a half pound. I’m a little bit disappointed with it as I’ve really really cut back BUT 3 and a half pound lighter than last week! Onto the next week, still not that hungry, I’ve had nothing to eat today but feeling a bit peckish now but don’t really fancy anything. I’ll go stare at the fridge for 5 minutes and make a decision 🤣

EmmaH2022 · 21/02/2022 15:05

I think 3.5lb is loads.

When I actually managed to stick to a diet before, I lost half a pound a week in a good week. It was so pointless.

OP posts:
Orangemoon77 · 21/02/2022 15:11

3.5lb is loads! If you lose between 1-3 lb ish a week then that’s easier to keep off in the future. The big losses and crash diets are the ones that pile back on. Be proud @ImSaxyAndIKnowIt

ImSaxyAndIKnowIt · 21/02/2022 15:23

Yeah you’re right! I’m
Being silly, you expect to have one good week and lose a stone 🤣. Thanks for the support ♥️

EmmaH2022 · 21/02/2022 22:25

Yes, Saxy, def be proud!

Today I was hungry at lunch but not really at dinner.

Sorry to go off on a clothes tangent again
But I am not brave enough for all the questions I'd get on S&B

It's been so long since I was thin - my lifestyle is totally different now.

So I am finding myself looking at things and realising that I'd mostly be wearing them at home, or mum's, or my sister's house.

But is it a good idea to do that anyway rather than be in joggers etc. One of my aunties used to wear nice clothes and jewellery at home, saying she was mostly at home and she enjoyed her nice things.

Sunshinedreaming2022 · 21/02/2022 22:32

@ImSaxyAndIKnowIt congratulations on your 3.5lb loss. That is really good!

@EmmaH2022 on one hand I completely agree with your aunt, things should never be saved for best as every day is special and should be treated as such. However my desire to spend every day in a ball gown and tiara just isn’t practical in every day life* (I’m mean just think of the dry cleaning bill) and I love joggers and a hoody equally. I would have both and wear whichever suits your mood each day.

*though at my Dnans nursing home there is a lady who is always dressed in a baby pink ball gown with a tiara on her head whenever I visit so you never know, my time may come

Sunshinedreaming2022 · 21/02/2022 22:34

You could always dress up comfy clothes with fabulous Jewellery though. That would definitely make me feel like it’s more of an “outfit” then just me being a slob

scarlettoharasgreendress · 21/02/2022 22:46

Absolutely. Comfy =/= slobby. I have joggers which I'll pair with a knitted jumper and hoodies that I'll pair with jeans etc. I rarely do top to toe sweats.

Also, think about fibres. I have a cashmere hoodie which I LOVE. I can wear it over my pjs or I can wear it with skinny jeans and my camel coat and I feel smart enough to go out for lunch.

I think I overdid it a bit today. We went out for a walk (on my scooter 😂) and stopped at a café. I had a cake because everyone else was but I certainly didn't need it. I'm not eating breakfast (I rarely do) and sticking with for eg one slice of bread plus protein for lunch and having a modest meal in the evening. I can't really count calories at the mo cos I'm away from home 😵‍💫 We shall see though.

I increasingly don't like wearing jewellery. I have metal allergies but now starting to find that even the clasp of a sterling silver necklace annoys me. Used to always wear a watch, now they seem itchy.

I'm obviously weird! 😂

Most of my tracky bots really need replacing so I'm thinking to be realistic about weight loss, which won't be quick for me, and just get a couple of casual outfits.

The tunic top I linked to has arrived, the size 12. Much to my surprise, I can get into it. It's too tight but I honestly thought it might not go past my stomach. So that's on the cards to wear sooner than I thought!

Hi

I started this journey on Thursday after being seriously fed up of comfort eating. I wasn’t sure if it would help as I wasn’t eating because I was hungry but because I’d almost trained myself that feeling stressed or sad was the same feeling as hunger (if that makes any sense 🙈)... anyway I’ve done a sneaky early weighin and it looks like I’ve lost 4lbs.

I’m thrilled!! I’m joining WW today too as I think that will keep me on healthy weight loss as this does seem to be controlling my hunger. I’m not really eating breakfast but I didn’t tend to anyway and then would absolutely pig out from lunch till I went to bed.

I’m finding my portion sizes are much much smaller and I’m barely snacking. Seems to be curbing my very sweet tooth.
Little indigestion so far but nothing that seems in unbearable but obviously only on 0.6 so far..

It’s weird my mum made me a sandwich at lunchtime yesterday and i couldn’t eat it all as I could taste she had used so much butter it made me feel queasy.

No idea if that’s due to Saxenda or just placebo but it’s definitely working.
I’m actually feeling very positive about weight loss journey

Started at 14 stone 2lbs
Never been that heavy ever!! So have 4 stone to lose.

It was actually reading (silently stalking) this thread that gave me the confidence to order - so thank you. As I was so so nervous and haven’t told anyone including DH 😬 as wasnt sure anyone would ‘approve’.
However I had gestational diabetes when pregnant and this pas year my weight has spiralled and my joints ache from weight. I was also struggling to run (which I use to love) so I needed to take action. Looked at gastric ballon and concluded I’d try this first, so pleased I did.

Sunshinedreaming2022 · 22/02/2022 09:22

@EmmaH2022 you aren't weird - I have a nickel allergy as well, I even had to paint the tiny metal button on the strap of my Apple Watch with clear nail polish as it caused a rash on my wrist.

welcome @40somethingmummy and congratulations on your 4lb loss. My very skinny dh knows but doesn't really approve. he doesn't understand why I can't just cut back and the weight will drop off. However he accepts I'm doing this and is supportive. My dd(18) has also given me a lecture about how she doesn't approve - apparently it would be fine if it was prescribed from our GP but not an online pharmacist. I've learnt not to listen to the criticisms of people who have never experienced a weight problem - they will never really understand

EmmaH2022 · 22/02/2022 10:55

40something glad we helped you!

I am short and the GP said I'd need to eat about 800 cals a day to lose weight. Possibly true but I would rather stay fat.

There's many reasons a GP might not be best placed to help, ignore the judgers.

My delivery was put on hold for a really silly reason - a name confusion - now I've run out as I was expecting it yesterday. As it is, it hasn't been a good week food wise.

This won't sit well on other weight loss threads but I've been wanting more protein and that's a bad sign in me, means I'm too hungry.

Anyway, my workouts seem to be helping so that's good, I didn't take measurements but it's good - definitely less stomach walking ahead of me!

OP posts:
scarlettoharasgreendress · 22/02/2022 11:00

It's not prescribed by an online pharmacist... it's prescribed by an online dr 😉😂

My OH is also very skinny. Healthy weight but lowest healthy bmi. He doesn't understand but he's super supportive so that's good.

Welcome @40somethingmummy nice to have another on board!

I've done my weekly weigh in (I do an average type thing so it's almost a day early if you get me). 1.6kg off this week or 3.5lbs. I'm pretty bloody chuffed with that. I'm totally unable to exercise and I'm on holiday so I've had a glass of wine every night plus a couple of G&Ts. And I decided in the night that I'm not sorry I had that cake yesterday. Life is for living and if I can't have a treat once in a while then what's it all for? It's that a treat once in a while had turned into once a day... because it's nearly lunchtime... because it's nearly bedtime etc 😂

I'm going to stay on 0.6 for now as I feel like it's having an effect but if I feel like I'm stalling then I'll increase by a click a time I think. I can't really afford to spend months on 3.0 and I don't want the drug to be the only thing that's doing it. I have to hold myself responsible for 90% of the weight gain so I have to bear some responsibility for it coming off. I'm worried that if I got rid of the bulk of it on 3.0 that I won't have learned anything, not changed my habits etc. Probably sounds silly but that's how I'm thinking of it.

scarlettoharasgreendress · 22/02/2022 11:01

Also a no nickel person here!

EmmaH2022 · 22/02/2022 11:21

Scarlett well done, that's great!

OP posts:
Sunshinedreaming2022 · 22/02/2022 12:00

well done @scarlettoharasgreendress that's a great loss!!

40somethingmummy · 22/02/2022 12:07

Thanks all!

I think we have to take our own paths don’t we. And see what works for us.
I’m not sure how my DH would respond but for now, it’s my decision and I don’t want to tell everyone but it’s good to have this to chat on.
WW was as expected 🙈 not massively inspiring workshop but the consistency of a weekly weigh in will help and I found a link for a few month, so I can assess at the end of March.

Well done on your weight loss and yes, life is for living. It’s a balance. I just lost my weigh between ‘treat’ and part of my daily diet.
Feel now is the time to take back control and the pen is definitely helping control my cravings.

I may try the next dose up but I probably won’t go up any further as this seems to be working, unless your body gets use to it and it becomes less affective perhaps?
