Following on from January Thread 1

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022 🍾 🎊 🎉 🍾

Fresh new year, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fasting and eat twice a day.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

OK, Just washed the car, it needed it and I had a quiet spot with work, so that's done and I'll just add on a half hour at the end of the work day.

Question now, how many calories have I just worked off, MyFitnessPal needs to know Grin

8stone13 · 31/01/2022 11:47

It seems many on this thread are struggling with life in general, big hugs to you all 💐

As the thread closes I wanted to say a brief thanks to all who have said kind things to me through January, especially re: my Autistic boy. I don't have a lot of support - I'm estranged from my unpleasant parents (still can't bring myself to admit 'abusive') & my ex can range from being a chocolate teapot to an actively hampering force at times. I have my brilliant girlfriend & great friends & I'm a tough cookie, but it's still been really lovely & heartening to those who have given me a boost by saying I'm doing ok. Thank you one & all 🙂

Day 30 - Mon 31st Jan - 9s 3 & 1/2lb
BMI 21.4
BF 24.1

^ Even though I'm up 1.5lb from my Jan low of 9s 2lb, I've still lost a total of 6.5lb since 2nd of this month. And after the French feast, Chinese, bacon, chocolate & goodness knows what else since Friday I call that a result 😀

I've got my online shopping due any minute with lots of healthy & yummy ingredients. First up to be made is carrot soup with fresh coriander, I'm going to make cheese scones too. I went through my cupboards last night & hooked out things that need using up, which included some ground almonds so I'm going to make the Good Food cherry & almond crumble cake as a treat at the weekend.

Hope everyone manages to have a good rest of the day. No beating ourselves up about what's gone before as we push on with jobs, kids, houses, partners, life in general. We're all doing great considering what life throws at us, even if it doesn't feel like that at times. We've just got to keep keeping on. Sending good wishes & positive vibes to all. See you on the Feb thread xx

Thank you @buzzofthebumblebee @Ste23321 and @Youdoyoutoday ... today is just a glum day. Things will get brighter I know.

Sending love to you all who are finding things tough too.

But I'm with you @buzzofthebumblebee .... negative thoughts put aside. Let's do this! Come on February !

SunshineCake1 · 31/01/2022 12:27

Thinking of you @ginsparkles.

Not as bad but today is 43 years since my Grandad died. The one relative who truly adored me and I so wish he was still here.

I'm logging a 2.2lb nett loss for January as I've been higher and lower but that is the loss just looking at January 1st and today. I thought only just over a pound so I'm happier.

2022km challenge - running, walking the dog and treadmill - 223.08km.

And I fell off the treadmill so I'm suffering.

Been awake since 4am worrying about DD. Feeling cold and sick as well as anxious.

So sorry to read that @Ste23321. Please look after yourself and try and think about what you need and want.

Hear hear @buzzofthebumblebee. I'm always saying no point beating out self for food related stuff. We have eaten it and it has gone. The only problem is if you didn't enjoy it. We all need to stop giving food the power and control we think it has.

Sorry to read you've been signed off @Crazzzycat. Make sure you use the time for refresh and rest and not redecorate the house and dig over the garden.

TheRealHousewife · 31/01/2022 16:30

@Youdoyoutoday I love your no snacking reminder, great way to keep the snack dragon 🐉 at bay; you do give me a giggle most days! 😬

@Ste23321 it’s MFP premium. In the diary setting you scroll down and there are tabs to click and check your macros. Love it! I’m sorry to read about your stresses & troubles. Sounds tough Flowers

@Zalen a small loss is still a loss, well done on your progress to date 👍

@Crazzzycat I’m pleased to hear you’re signed off so you can address your stress. Self care is so important! You’re doing great in-spiteh of your difficulties! You’ll get there.

@8stone13 what a lovely post. Even though your life is super tough you still support and encourage everyone else so on that note I thank YOU 🙏😊

No alcohol weekdays is such a beneficial change @ImALittlePea and gives you something to look forward to at the weekend.

@SingaporeSlinky great January result 👍👏🏅

You are welcome @SunshineCake1 ❤️ My 2022 challenge is doing at least 20mins 22seconds of exercise/walk each and every day. So far I gone above and beyond that so far.

@galacticpixels that’s a great loss for January, well done 👍👏🏅

@buzzofthebumblebee you’ve achieved so much for January. Fantastic progress 👏👍🏅I love your post, such positivity and encouragement!

My loss for January is 2.8lbs which I’m thrilled about. Not yo-yo’d as much as I have done previously. My goal for February is a modest 2lb.

Life’s been tough for a lot of us over recent months/years. Stress and anxiety can be the saboteurs of better food choices and positive change. Nonetheless you’ve all stayed focused, dug deep and made the changes to enable yourselves to meet your goals. I applaud 👏 you all ❤️

Oh @TheRealHousewife i love that 2022 challenge!!! what a clever idea well done.

i'm poking away at exercise and pleased with that, although i'm not seeing much happening with weight loss.
ending the month at 159 on the dot!!

ginsparkles · 31/01/2022 18:47

Evening all.

So I haven't weighed today because the weekend was erm well the least said the better. So before that I had a 7lb loss in January. I'll weigh tomorrow and assess the damage. New month new beginnings!

Well done @SunshineCake1 @SingaporeSlinky @galacticpixels @buzzofthebumblebee @Zalen @TheRealHousewife and anyone I missed, on your fab January losses.

Todays been ok. Had a prawn layered pasta for lunch and have a duck stir fry for dinner. Snacked on a babybel, yoghurt and fruit bar. All in all coming in at 1217 cals today.

Thank you to you all for your support ... for the weight and the other nonsense that's going on. Aiming on focussing on the positives. Dads not in pain and miserable now, the visit went well and DD seems happier having been, and on Thursday I get to ride a horse for the first time since I broke my spine 5 years ago!

declutteringmymind · 01/02/2022 14:52

Hi all. Weighed in yesterday with a total of 6.5lb off in January which I am more than happy with.

This month's aims are to lose more and build in some exercise.

Well done everyone for completing January, especially those of us who have so much other stuff going on.

See on the February thread!

Crazzzycat · 01/02/2022 15:36

Well done on that loss @declutteringmymind 👏

declutteringmymind · 01/02/2022 17:16

Thank you ❤️

Allotment123 · 01/02/2022 19:42

Next weigh in tomorrow, not gone well this week, bought and ate my first easter egg yesterday, will need to start avoiding big supermarkets!

SunshineCake1 · 02/02/2022 07:06

Come and join us in the February thread @Allotment123. I bought DS2 an Easter egg yesterday too but only because we saw them and we don't always shop together. Put yours away and tell yourself you can have it later but you don't feel like it today.

HarrietsweetHarriet · 02/02/2022 09:02

Hi everyone,
Hope it's OK if I join in to get some much-needed moral support on my weight loss journey x

8stone13 · 02/02/2022 10:21

Come to the Feb thread @HarrietsweetHarriet All are welcome 🙂
