Following on from January Thread 1

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022 🍾 🎊 🎉 🍾

Fresh new year, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fasting and eat twice a day.

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

@Recycledblonde, I have a Concept 2 too. Pricey, but supposed to indestructible so hopefully worth it 🤞 Good idea to start slow…I got used to it quick enough, but the first few sessions were undoubtedly painful.

TheRealHousewife · 27/01/2022 19:15

It’s frustrating @Recycledblonde. Excellent post by @Youdoyoutoday so nothing to add 👍 Love your cupboard note! You’re on fire 🔥 today 👏

@Crazzzycat you are right about having the correct form on a rower. Before my SCI, I hurt my lower back on a rower. We have the Concept 2 too, my oh really likes it. Sturdy.

@SunshineCake1 ❤️ Posted happy looking tulips 🌷 for you.

Bath and early night for me. Chat tomorrow 😬

Highlight of today’s menu was a scoop of pistachio ice-cream. I highly recommend this!
Second highlight was a 30k step count 🚶‍♀️

It sounds like you’re going through a tough time @SunshineCake1 I hope things improve 🤗

Youdoyoutoday · 27/01/2022 20:53

@Raspberry12 30k step count???? Wow!! That's amazing!!

You're putting me to shame! How did you managed that?

ginsparkles · 27/01/2022 21:02

Wow!! @Raspberry12 that's a fabulous step count !!

@Youdoyoutoday awesome on the no snacking !!

Sending love to you @SunshineCake1 ... feel free to PM, I have had tough times with DB's mental health in the past, happy to be a listening shoulder.

Today has been a good low calorie day. Tomorrow won't be so good, out for dinner with some friends. But will be well behaved during the day.

swampytiggaa · 27/01/2022 21:46

Sending love @SunshineCake1 💕 been there with my eldest 💕 I’ve been mad busy with work but I’ll message you tomorrow x

SunshineCake1 · 27/01/2022 21:47

I've replied to your PM @fallfallfall. Thank you. I did go on a bit so feel free to ignore me.

SunshineCake1 · 27/01/2022 21:49

I love 🌷 thank you so much @TheRealHousewife. I might buy some when I next go shopping.

Thank you @Raspberry12 and @ginsparkles. You are very kind.

Thank you too @swampytiggaa. Sorry to hear you have had difficult times too. Well done on becoming a model!!

campingqueen121 · 27/01/2022 21:52

@swampytiggaa how amazing.

@SunshineCake1 I'm sorry to hear your having such a difficult time, I hope your son will be able to get the support he needs. Healing thoughts.

Well done everyone on your amazing efforts, keep it up.

I was asked if I'd lost weight today, followed by a yes you've lost it in your face which is the last place you need to lose it, I'm not sure entirely what was meant but I'm taking it as a compliment even if it wasn't.

I did 2 works out today and have pretty much completed week 1 of t25, yey me. I have a c25k walk /run to do tomorrow then a well deserved rest day on Saturday. Body is feeling tired but good so the green tea seems to be doing its job.

Had a rubbish lunch today which resulted in snacking, will make sure I have something decent tomorrow.

@Raspberry12 amazing step count I'd be lucky if I reached 1000 today.

Raspberry12 · 27/01/2022 22:23

@Youdoyoutoday I don’t have a car so everything happens on foot - school & nursery drop off / pick up, grocery shopping etc.

Today was an unusual day because I had half a day off work and picked up the little one from nursery after lunch and then we went for a buggy walk in the afternoon.

And it was also date night tonight so we decided to walk to my favourite ice-cream place (2.5 hour walk there and back).

I reckon I’m going to sleep well!

Youdoyoutoday · 27/01/2022 22:31

2.5 hour walk for ice cream???
I'd want alcohol at the end of that journey 🤣🤣

Well done you!

I do leave the car at home more than I used to but couldn't do the big shop without it. That said, I'm shopping more little and often these days as I find stuff goes off so quick these days.

I shop on a Monday and Thursday at the moment and get enough to last the next few days. I can't fit anymore in the fridge so maybe I could go more local and walk there and bus it back with the bags

🤔 you've got me thinking now.... i need to up my step count!

fallfallfall · 27/01/2022 22:58

@SunshineCake1, i reply but the messages don't seem to be getting through. i'll keep trying.

SunshineCake1 · 28/01/2022 03:46

I've had three messages @fallfallfall. Just replied.

ImALittlePea · 28/01/2022 08:03

Morning all! Just under 1lb down this morning, which I'm just going to round up 😁 I'm nearly onto a new stone bracket now which is fab. I've also had my first CBT appointment confirmed for next week, so all in all I'm starting my weekend away with a bit of a spring in my step! Just trying not to think about how much I'm going to miss the kids in the meantime 😭

8stone13 · 28/01/2022 08:55

@SunshineCake1 My 14 year old DS is Autistic with Co-morbidities which affects his mental health. We had to change his medication as he'd grown out of it & the result was 48 hours with a constantly highly distressed 8 year old articulating suicide ideation. It was hell. I know he feels on the edge at times, he'll find one thing - a DVD he's watching repeatedly for instance - & truthfully say it's the only thing keeping him going. He's balanced at the moment 🤞🏻 but as a mother I fear terribly for his future. My father has been sectioned for his MH & my grandmother was hospitalised with hers in the 1950s & 1960s, so the family history hangs over me. So I do empathise. I'm sending you & your DH & your lovely boy support & all good wishes

@Youdoyoutoday I love your cupboard note 😀👏🏻

Day 27 - Fri 28th Jan - 9s 3 & 1/4lb
BMI 21.4
BF 24

Where on earth has another 1/2lb come from overnight?! 🤷🏼‍♀️ 🤦🏼‍♀️

I ate less yesterday, although some of it was salty so I'm hoping it's water weight. The jump from a consistent 9s 2lb to this in 48 hours has surprised me though. I'm going to try to not let it put a dampener on my planned meals out tonight & tomorrow. I won't eat masses, will only eat out in the evening other than some fruit, & re-assess the damage after the weekend!

galacticpixels · 28/01/2022 09:32

I usually only count my Wednesday weight as my "weigh in' but I saw 199.8lb on the scales this morning which feels momentous. Before I put on my lockdown/depression weight I usually hovered around 170lb at a size 10, so I'd like to get back there. Doesn't feel so far away now!

I can see a huge difference in my clothes/the mirror now and I'm starting to see glimpses of my old self again.

January 2022 loss: 6.2lb
Total loss: 16.6

I'm meeting some friends for dinner tonight. A big part of this has been learning that one night of indulgence doesn't have to end with me spiraling into binge eating for 2 months. So I'll enjoy my dinner and maybe a few drinks tonight, then we're going on a hike in the morning.

ginsparkles · 28/01/2022 10:39

Well done @galacticpixels !!

I stepped on the scales this morning and was rewarded with a 2lb loss so all of the gain has now gone. Just in time for me to go out for dinner tonight and away for this rubbish weekend!

Plan for today
Was feeling really hungry this morning so I have had a cereal bar mid morning
Meal 1 will be salad with prawns, giant Cous Cous, butternut squash and feta. Cherry yoghurt and a banana
Meal 2 . Out for tapas.

TheRealHousewife · 28/01/2022 11:29

Good Morning All

You’re very welcome @SunshineCake1 I hope you find some peace ❤️

@campingqueen121 well done on getting 2 workouts in! 👍👏

@ImALittlePea you’re making good progress 👍👏 Hope all goes well with your cbt and enjoy your weekend. You’re sounding like a new woman!

@8stone13 sounds tough and you always sound so positive, really inspiring. ❤️

@galacticpixels you are doing fantastically well 👍👏. Well done!

@ginsparkles That’s a nice start for the weekend … always good to start with a credit 😬

I weighed this morning to .3lb loss which is good for me. I’ve had a few small consecutive losses recently rather than the usual yo-yo so I’m pleased.

Menu
Meal 1 - Home made salmon mouse, red, yellow, green pepper crudités, 2 hard boiled eggs.
Meal 2 - Chicken, sweet potato, green bean, carrot & red onion tray bake.
Tea, black coffee, water. Small piece of cheddar. Satsuma.

Enjoy your Friday! Whatever you’re doing, do it with gusto! See below 👇

Weighed myself today and I’ve lost a grand total of 3lbs since I started. However my jeans aren’t such a battle to do up and I don’t feel as much like a sack tied up in the middle as I did. It’s my birthday today 57th🙈🙈and I’m having steak and fries with a couple of glasses of red wine but no tea tonight. Picture of my lunching out outfit(minus the dog!) attached.

Good morning all

Scales this morning, 16st 13.4, so 1lb up from yesterday, but I didn't really believe that large loss anyway, this seems far more realistic.

Dinner last night was Veggie cheeseburger with rosemary fries, I enjoyed it but DS wasn't too impressed so I guess we won't be getting that one again.

Tomorrow we're going to the cinema, so there will be ice-cream, and then we're going to Mozza after for pizza. Probably won't be a great day eating wise, but since I won't be at work, there is a good chance that I won't be eating a lot else, so maybe the damage won't be too bad.

8stone13 · 28/01/2022 12:15

Happy birthday @Recycledblonde 🥳 🎂 🎁 Enjoy your day!

Whoever that is with you they are gorgeous 🐾

ginsparkles · 28/01/2022 12:27

Happy birthday @Recycledblonde ! Have a lovely day. You look lovely .... and you can always rely on a gorgeous doggy jump into try and steal the photo limelight!

galacticpixels · 28/01/2022 12:37

Happy birthday @Recycledblonde! Hope you have a lovely day!

buzzofthebumblebee · 28/01/2022 12:40

Happy birthday @Recycledblonde !! hope it is a fun one. You look gorgeous (as does your pooch).

Well done on the losses, and to your for yours @TheRealHousewife !! It all mounts up. And I cheered inside for you too @galacticpixels - it is great to get into a new bracket. 2lbs loss is amazing @ginsparkles - yes, you can reward yourself with delicious tapas!

@campingqueen121 I am sure that was a compliment (or otherwise jealousy!). I've had a couple of people comment on my weight loss this week. Makes all the effort worthwhile.

Keep on everyone else that I can't mention - so many of us it's hard to keep up!!

Sounds very tough @8stone13 I don't know quite what to say other than I have huge respect & admiration to you, really.

And my heart absolutely dropped when I read your post late last night @SunshineCake1 . You are having the most torrid time. Your poor boy, and poor you & DH too. Sending you the most massive long squeeze, a real hold-you-tight one, for a long long time, as there are no comforting words at the moment. Sending much love, and all my thoughts. Direct experience here too Flowers

buzzofthebumblebee · 28/01/2022 12:56

and I forgot to report in that I had another 1/2 loss this morning, and so I am only 3/4 lb away from a full 2 stone loss since I joined you all 1st Sept. Hope I'll get there for Feb's thread!

Feeling all slinky malinky and all proud of myself I tried on some size 12 trousers that I love but lurking at back of cupboard for years without being able to fit them. They do up, but very uncomfortable. So that's my question answered as to whether I stop at 11 stone 2, or carry on a bit more!
