I lost 10lb at the back end of last year… weighed myself this morning and I’ve put on just over 8lb over Christmas! I don’t even feel like I overate that much. I blame the baileys.

Anyway, today is a new start, going to get that weight back off and lose another stone on top.

MFP is my friend again and today shall be somewhat of a fasting day as I’ve got so much to do and feel horribly bloated.
Day 4 of no alcohol, going to keep that going for as long as possible as it’s empty calories and my evening wine was becoming far too much.

SW - 10st 8.8lb
GW - 9st

Goal weight for now is back to 10st.

Feel free to join or at least wish me luck 😬

@SingaporeSlinky thank you 🥰

In all honesty I don't take part in the groups at slimming world so I don't really make any use out of the support they give. For me it really is about having that weekly goal and weigh in, that stops me from pushing the goal posts further away. I also like that I can eat as much fruit and veg as I want, instead of feeling restricted with the calories. It makes me feel healthier and less like a diet.
I also think I've acknowledged some of my weak points, I.e mid morning cravings, dinner time, chocolate binges and I'm really trying to work on that! I also definitely still need to drink more water!
But I think the biggest push has been this lovely weather and feeling frumpy in it. I do not want to feel awful this summer. I want to wear nice clothes and take my boys in the sea and not feel embarrassed!
Don't get me wrong, it's hard work and I do miss CC at times because I feel like you can eat more of a variety of foods then with SW, but I just need that weigh in goal I think!

I'm hoping for 2 pounds this week!

SingaporeSlinky · 28/03/2022 22:00

@Wednesdayafternoon It’s such a huge loss in one week! Fingers crossed for you.
What weight are you now, if you don’t mind saying?

I think for me it’s the routine now, I actually enjoy it, and I know I can keep it up. When I’ve lost weight in the past, it’s been with a holiday in mind, and then I gradually went back to old habits. So 2 bags of crisps late morning, biscuits with coffee, puddings or chocolate quite a few times a week, starbucks or McDonald’s if I was out shopping for example. Now I’m just really mindful of all of that, and I really don’t mind the fasting, so essentially skipping breakfast. 2 meals is enough for me now. Very occasionally I have a snack f I really want a chocolate bar, but like once a week. Not daily.
Once I work out my maintenance calorie allowance I just need to be careful to eat proper food rather than thinking “well if I can 200 cals more, that means I can have a chocolate bar every day”

TalkToTheHand123 · 28/03/2022 23:24

It's been ok. Had s couple days off for daughter's birthday today and party yesterday so had time for an extra trip to the gym. Clocks not as amended there either which threw me a bit.

Going for a big push this week as little weightloss.

TalkToTheHand123 · 29/03/2022 07:39

Woop woop, weighed myself this morning and on 15 stone exact so quite pleased. (1 and a half stone off from Xmas)

Wednesdayafternoon · 29/03/2022 09:31

@SingaporeSlinky it really is a big loss isn't it, I wasn't expecting it! I think I must carry a lot of water when I eat aloe of rubbish as tbh I just feel less bloated 🙈
Today I'm gonna have chilli kidney beans with mince and veg, not sure about tea... maybe something light like an omelet!

Wednesdayafternoon · 29/03/2022 09:36

@TalkToTheHand123 aww that's amazing lovely, chuffed for you!
So is that 7 pounds off in a week? You must be doing something right 🥰

Wednesdayafternoon · 29/03/2022 09:36

@MrsHippopotamus how are you getting in this week lovely?

TalkToTheHand123 · 29/03/2022 10:10

I lost 7 lbs over two weeks, before last week, losing 4lbs one week and 3lbs the other after putting on 7lbs the week before.

I'd signed up for the gym with the local leisure centre a couple weeks ago and quite convenient when going places, ie school run, there's one right next to the school and wanting to get my money's worth also.

The bloating I usually suffer has really eased, which I'm happy with too!

SingaporeSlinky · 29/03/2022 10:33

Well done @TalkToTheHand123 🥳

TalkToTheHand123 · 29/03/2022 10:48

Thanks SS ☺️

Today I'm trying to think of some healthy food to pick up for breakfast club later tonight for tomorrow. So doing a bit of googling now.

SingaporeSlinky · 29/03/2022 10:50

@TalkToTheHand123 why don’t you take a really healthy breakfast, just get raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, some Greek yoghurt and a box of healthy granola?

TalkToTheHand123 · 29/03/2022 18:17

Sounds good SS. I'm drooling already.

TalkToTheHand123 · 30/03/2022 08:46

Had some yoghurt and granola with some fruit last night and was delicious.

SingaporeSlinky · 30/03/2022 14:18

It is isn’t it @TalkToTheHand123, I have that as lunch most days, and just a sensible dinner.
Did you have it for breakfast club too (or do you not actually eat at the breakfast club you shop for?). If you make it a regular thing, just check you’re getting a healthy greek (or natural) yoghurt, not a Greek-style or flavoured one, as they can have lots of sugar in. I get a fat-free greek one from Tesco because it’s really high protein and very low carb/sugar.

9st 3 today, so I’ve lost 1.5lbs since last Wednesday.

Did a 45 minute bodytone class, 17 mins on the cross trainer and nearly 20 minutes rowing. Suspect I’ll be a bit achey in the morning!

Had a break from yoghurt today, I fancied some toast so had 2 slices of superseeded farmhouse bread with butter on. Dinner will be salmon with a pesto and breadcrumb topping, and a quinoa and pomegranate salad.

TalkToTheHand123 · 31/03/2022 08:12

I plan to start soon (when a bit more organised). At the moment just brown bread with butter and soup (tins and packets) to keep me going from start to finish.

I've managed to hit the 15 stone mark so new target over the next few weeks is to try keep it at or under this marker.

A good gym session today should help too.

Wednesdayafternoon · 31/03/2022 08:52

Sounds like you're both having a good week.
I haven't weighed in yet. Ur feeling good about what I'm eating.
Going out today so just prepared a salad and I just thought how much I really don't want to eat it 🙈
Any recommendations for food on the go? I'm not really a fish eater!

TalkToTheHand123 · 31/03/2022 09:46

Yeah, was getting really annoyed the scales not moving much until last week or two. Aww I love my salads. Depends where you can get to. I like anything with chicken.

Pizza hut salad bar I crave, but fortunately not convenient to get to on my routes as the pizzas are too tempting.

TalkToTheHand123 · 31/03/2022 21:05

Got to the gym a bit later than planned so didn't exercise as much. Ate quite good today. Hoping for a better gym session tomorrow.

TalkToTheHand123 · 02/04/2022 18:28

Hoping I get used to going to the gym. Absolutely knackered today. Been ready for bed since I woke up. Can hardly move. Been stuffing my face a lot too last couple of days.

SingaporeSlinky · 02/04/2022 18:40

@TalkToTheHand123 it does take a while to get used to exercising, make sure you’re eating enough protein for your muscles to recover too, and drink loads of water.
But don’t undo your loss so far by going backwards! If you’re hungry because of the exercise, have a big glass of water, and if you’re still hungry, plan a sensible yoghurt or some scrambled eggs or something that will help you feel full.

TalkToTheHand123 · 03/04/2022 10:07

@SingaporeSlinky, thanks, will do.

Think the binge eating is more boredom. It's not too bad as quite healthy options (Weetabix, yoghurts). The sweets cupboard was cleared out a few weeks ago. Even a few sweets seemed to put a lot of weight on.

I'm trying to up my mindfulness and meditation as this helps too for my weightloss.

TalkToTheHand123 · 03/04/2022 14:44

After watching people making Sunday dinner today, I think I'm going to have to make one later when I get home.

Wednesdayafternoon · 04/04/2022 19:39

So o had a sw weigh in today and I'm down 9 pounds in total which I'm chuffed about! 🥰
We've been decorating 2 bedrooms this past week so it's been extremely stressful, I absolutely detest mess! I'm proofs of myself for not having a breakdown and falling completely off the wagon 🙈

SingaporeSlinky · 04/04/2022 20:05

Well done @Wednesdayafternoon!

I’ve gone back up to 9st 4 after a bit of a chocolate binge over the weekend, plus some pizza on Friday. Trying to be extra good this week as we’re off on holiday next Monday, but I seem to be craving chocolate and it’s not even TOTM yet.

Wednesdayafternoon · 04/04/2022 20:31

@SingaporeSlinky thank you!
Ahhh it's so hard getting back to it isn't it. Are you a hot chocolate girl? I have a mint options every night to settle my cravings and it's low calorie. Something ridiculous like 30 cals and then maybe a few more if you add milk!
I was going to ask when your holiday is! What are you thinking diet wise whilst you're away? Are you going to enjoy some time off or try and Maintain whilst away?
