I lost 10lb at the back end of last year… weighed myself this morning and I’ve put on just over 8lb over Christmas! I don’t even feel like I overate that much. I blame the baileys.

Anyway, today is a new start, going to get that weight back off and lose another stone on top.

MFP is my friend again and today shall be somewhat of a fasting day as I’ve got so much to do and feel horribly bloated.
Day 4 of no alcohol, going to keep that going for as long as possible as it’s empty calories and my evening wine was becoming far too much.

SW - 10st 8.8lb
GW - 9st

Goal weight for now is back to 10st.

Feel free to join or at least wish me luck 😬

Me too! Ah, sounds nice menu!

Soup today and going to try ration supplies of sausages and burgers.

Have some salads stuff to eat tonight too.

TalkToTheHand123 · 22/03/2022 11:48

What's your target weight SS?

SingaporeSlinky · 22/03/2022 12:52

No real target as such, when I started in January I was hoping for a stone off, now I’m at 1st 3lbs, I’ll just keep going I guess. The main aim was to lose weight for holiday at Easter, but I’m still a bit flabby round the tummy so once I get back I’ll keep hitting the gym until I’m happier with my shape and then see where I am.

MrsHippopotamus · 22/03/2022 14:18

Guys!! I’m here!! So sorry for dropping off the thread, life got a bit manic!

I was 10st 4 when I last weighed myself …2 weeks ago 🙈
I’ll weigh myself in the morning and start afresh. I’m hoping for a maintain tbh! Definitely haven’t lost weight since then but I haven’t gone mad food wise so fingers crossed it isn’t a gain.

Just caught up on the thread and you’re all doing so well! slinky you are just smashing it! Not gonna lie, I feel pretty down with myself, I could’ve been there right alongside you but things have just been getting away from me! But well done, you’ve done amazing!
Talk I really need to restart my exercise! It makes such a difference.
wednesday good luck at slimming world! I’ve never tried it tbh but I’ve seen people can have success with it!

We too have been hit by covid! Managed to avoid it for 2 years but it was bound to happen 😫 got one child at home who tested positive, I’ve been feeling rotten since Friday but my tests are negative 🤷‍♀️
Hoping to feel better soon as I want to crack on with some exercise but I just feel wiped out.
I’ve had one illness or another for what feels like the whole beginning of the year! Need to up the vitamins I think.

Anyway, thanks for not forgetting about me Flowers hope everyone is having a good day

Welcome back @MrsHippopotamus I thought you’d deserted us 😂
Just concentrate on starting fresh, it’s blooming hard losing weight, that’s why this forum is full of threads, all looking for tips, support etc.

Hope you’re feeling a bit better, there seems to be a lag between having symptoms and actually testing positive. My DH was already over the worst when he finally got a positive, the ones before kept showing negative!

TalkToTheHand123 · 23/03/2022 14:33

Awww my daughter had it last week, but no one else, although I stopped testing a while ago.

2 sausages left after another binge, but did manage a 10min slow walk on the treadmill.

SingaporeSlinky · 23/03/2022 14:44

What are these binges you keep having @TalkToTheHand123? Are you cooking loads of burgers and sausages you have in the fridge/freezer? Is there a way you can build it into your daily meals, rather than having them as extras if they need using?

Wednesdayafternoon · 23/03/2022 15:28

Guys I've done so well these past 2 days, I'm so proud of myself, I finally feel like I'm in control again for the first time in ages!

Has anyone tried muller light skyr protein sated caramel yogurts?
I've been having them with my breakfast fruit and omg so nice! I've found ditching the cereal and just have fruit and yog for breakfast is helping me as it means I can use those cals/carbs later on during the day as a treat!

So glad you're back @MrsHippopotamus ! I hope you're feeling better! We've had Covid in our house but me and my sons have escaped it some how!

@TalkToTheHand123 ahhh it's SO hard! I absolutely recommend not having the food in that you binge on! If it's out of sight then it's not possible!

Thank you @SingaporeSlinky 🥰🥺

Wednesdayafternoon · 23/03/2022 15:33

(When I say "treat" I mean something later on. Today I'm having a pitta bread for my tea and I think that balances out from this morning! Does that make sense?).

TalkToTheHand123 · 23/03/2022 16:10

I went shopping for a service for a breakfast and cooking club and on the list was sausages and burgers, so I thought it would be a great idea to get some for myself also.

They were chilled sausages so getting them used up, although I could have frozen them I suppose.

I'm thinking either try just not buy them next time or make a caserole or stew with them so using over a longer time period.

SingaporeSlinky · 23/03/2022 21:06

Wednesday I haven’t tried that but I’ve been having baked apple Isey skyr which is delicious. Low cal and high protein, so I can have about 150g of it with my granola and seeds and extra fruit and it all adds up to just a few hundred cals.

TalkToTheHand123 · 24/03/2022 09:05

*gets notepad out to copy recipes :)

TalkToTheHand123 · 24/03/2022 20:58

Managed to get a few mins in at the gym today. Should be able to get a few more in tomorrow too. Braved a weigh in and just under 15.5 stones so okish. Plan to stock up on salads tomorrow.

SingaporeSlinky · 24/03/2022 22:25

What’s your total loss now @TalkToTheHand123?

Wednesdayafternoon · 25/03/2022 14:31

Hi all how are you feeling?
I have had a great week, not gone over my syns or had any naughty moments this week so far and I'm very proud! I felt a bit shakey yesterday at work and had to get something from the vender quick but I chose something healthy and on plan so that was really good for me.
How gorgous is this weather been? Tbh I've felt really ugly and old fashioned. I have 0 summer clothes and my jeans are too tight. I wish I had pulled my finger out earlier on the year! It's forecasted to rain next week but I can tell you something, I will weigh less for the next bout of sunshine!

TalkToTheHand123 · 25/03/2022 17:45

After getting the calculator out....a total loss of......absolute zero.

I'd started on 15.5, went up to 16.5on xmas day, so back down to where I started. Fed up I am.

Wednesdayafternoon · 25/03/2022 19:20

@TalkToTheHand123 noooo don't think like that! Your start is after Christmas, after your gain. A stone is a big loss you just need to keep going ♥️♥️♥️

SingaporeSlinky · 25/03/2022 19:27

Hi Wednesday I’m glad you’ve had such a positive week on SW. Hopefully that can continue and you’ll start to see a more consistent loss. Still plenty of time before summer, you can do it! And then treat yourself to some lovely new, smaller clothes!

Talk oh I’m sorry you’re not having as much success as you’d hoped, but at least you know you can do it, you’ve managed to get the stone off that you gained. You just need to keep at it. I think being mindful of what you’re buying in the weekly food shop will help. If you buy lots of extras and treats, you know you’re more likely to eat them at some point, I find it easier to just not buy them in the first place.

I weighed in at 9st 3.5 today so I’m wondering if I can get down to 9st by holiday time! Negative for covid so I’m back at the gym, spin class and rowing machine today.

Have a good weekend everyone! Take it easy on the ‘relax’ food days. You don’t want to spend half of next week undoing the weekend excess.

TalkToTheHand123 · 26/03/2022 07:11

Thanks. It's usually the food purchases intended for others that does it, although the shop for the breakfast club where I ended up buying sausages and burgers hasn't helped.

I've just weighed myself at what is my lightest of the day and it's at 15 and a quarter stone, which is quiite promising, so going to make more of an effort to reach the 15 stone mark and try avoid any sausages and burgers for a while!

SingaporeSlinky · 26/03/2022 08:24

That’s a good idea Talk
When I feel like I want to eat something unhealthy, because I just fancy some chocolate or whatever, I still go hunting in the cupboards. Luckily I don’t just grab anything, I need to enjoy it, so I won’t eat sweets or my DH’s rolos for example, but if there’s none of my favourites like Kit Kat or twix, then I just can’t have anything. Soon the craving passes. I don’t want it badly enough to bother walking to a shop or anything. So it does make it loads easier not to buy it, for me anyway.

Maybe just make a list for breakfast club.

TalkToTheHand123 · 26/03/2022 15:33

I think the issue is having it late at night which I already know. I don't like to eat through the day though, especially at work as I usually end up going to the toilet a few times and sitting bloated at a desk.

I'm going to try plan my meals better and get back to my stomach clenches too.

Wednesdayafternoon · 27/03/2022 22:58

@TalkToTheHand123 how have you got on over the weekend lovely? Did you manage to stay away from the great foods?

I'm so unbelievably proud of myself for not coming off plan this weekend. I have my weigh in tomorrow so I will stay on plan and see what the scales say! I'm not expecting a big loss because I'm feeling hormonal (pcos symptoms), however, I know it'll catch up with me because I've been so healthy all week!
I do have a milk tray that I'm gonna share with my son tomorrow night and then back on plan on Tuesday 🥰

Hope you have had a lovely Mother's Day all xxx

SingaporeSlinky · 28/03/2022 12:24

Hi all, weighing in at 9st 3.5 today
Had a long walk yesterday because I knew we were having dessert after dinner. Did go over my calories but back to it today.

I got a bit confused by the clock changes, because they hadn’t changed them at the gym, so I ended up doing my 45 minute legs, bums and tums class, then 25 minutes on the cross trainer while chatting to a friend, then did 1500m rowing, and that should have been plenty. But when I looked at the clock, it seemed early still, so I went on the treadmill for another 25 minutes before I realised the actual time. Doh! Bit achey now actually, so need to do some extra stretches.

Lunch today skyr yoghurt, granola and seeds, dinner will be chicken salad.

How was your weigh-in @Wednesdayafternoon? Well done for sticking with it!

Wednesdayafternoon · 28/03/2022 20:02

@SingaporeSlinky I just thought so you remember when you were at a standstill at around a stone ago? Isn't it amazing how far you've come!
My weigh in went well! 7.5 pounds lost! Obviously it's week one which is always a big loss. I've been eating so healthy so I feel really good about it! Just been enjoying my Mother's Day milk tray with my eldest. Back to it tomorrow ♥️

SingaporeSlinky · 28/03/2022 20:15

That’s fantastic @Wednesdayafternoon! What have you done differently in this last week compared to what you were doing before? Do you think just having the real life support helped you stay on track?
Enjoy your chocolates 😀
