I lost 10lb at the back end of last year… weighed myself this morning and I’ve put on just over 8lb over Christmas! I don’t even feel like I overate that much. I blame the baileys.

Anyway, today is a new start, going to get that weight back off and lose another stone on top.

MFP is my friend again and today shall be somewhat of a fasting day as I’ve got so much to do and feel horribly bloated.
Day 4 of no alcohol, going to keep that going for as long as possible as it’s empty calories and my evening wine was becoming far too much.

SW - 10st 8.8lb
GW - 9st

Goal weight for now is back to 10st.

Feel free to join or at least wish me luck 😬

Thank you! Just got to keep it in the 9s now!
What’s your meal plan this week?

Wednesdayafternoon · 02/02/2022 15:01

@SingaporeSlinky ahh you can do it! You've gradually got yourself there which j think makes it more sustainable.
I'm still on under 1200 cals which I'm feeling good about! I'm happy with the progress I'm making but need to not be as wild in the weekend I think 🙈 When I was on SE I had one full weekend day off and then a treat during the week so keep me going! The little treats to look forward to really keep me going!

SingaporeSlinky · 02/02/2022 15:55

Yeah I think the trick is to enjoy a treat at the weekend, but just one. If you go wild, and especially on both days, it can take half the following week to get back on track. Honestly, the one pudding I had last weekend was plenty.

Wednesdayafternoon · 02/02/2022 17:53

@SingaporeSlinky haha yes this weekend I will be treating myself one day only! I might even make weigh in day Sunday morning from now on! If it's a bit much I might have one midweek treat too but will just see how I get on!
BUT I am still making progress so I'm happy nonetheless ☺️

MrsHippopotamus · 03/02/2022 09:25

@SingaporeSlinky Wahey!! In the 9’s! Well done, your hard graft is paying off 🙂

@Wednesdayafternoon I’m totally with you about reigning it in on the weekend. I don’t even feel like I go too mad but I seem to spend half the week losing the weekend weight. I’m still losing, but much slower than I’d like.

Hi, can I join too please.
Last october I went from 10st 10 to 9st 5lb in 7 weeks using MFP. Then christmas arrived and beginning of January I was 10st again, anyway its taken till last week to be able to get into calorie counting again. I guess i got use to the chocolate and snacks, lost 3lb last week! My weigh days are Fridays so hoping for something tomorrow. It will be nice to have some company 😁 my goal is 8st 12lb

SingaporeSlinky · 03/02/2022 10:34

Welcome @Cheesecakedelight that was an amazing (and fast!) result to lose over a stone in 7 weeks. How low was your calorie count?

Cheesecakedelight · 03/02/2022 10:50

@SingaporeSlinky my calories were set at 1200 and I stuck to it 100% for the 7 weeks, whilst running 3x a week. My 40th Birthday was in December and I was determined 😂 I don't think I have the dedication to do that again so I've set them to 1400 this time with a treat at the weekend too. I'm thinking about running again but that's as far as it got at the moment 😂 may dig my trainers out at the weekend and just go for it. I found if I ran it helped me stay on track because I hate running so all that effort can't be wasted by having a snack once home 😂

SingaporeSlinky · 03/02/2022 11:12

Yep I hate running too. I’ve been coming in at 1200 or less since I started logging on MFP around 2nd week of Jan. Like you, sticking to it 100% (well, one pudding last weekend took me to 1800) but that was literally the only time. I joined a gym last week and have been going 3 times a week, including classes. So far I’ve lost 8lbs in just under 4 weeks. I just had to double check that, as when I write it down, it seems incredible, but I still feel like I have a lot more to go. My motivation is a holiday booked for Easter so I still have 2 months left to get to where I’d be comfortable.

Wednesdayafternoon · 03/02/2022 12:25

@MrsHippopotamus absolutely! I haven't even necessarily enjoyed a 2 day binge as it's made me feel abit lost but with me being off work and my eldest off school I just feel like I want to have a good time 🙈
I'm not really someone who can do it every day because I just enjoy treat food so much that not having it to look forward to has the adverse effect for me! So I will rein it down to one day a week now moving forward and then maybe one treat during the week depending 🥰

Cheesecakedelight · 03/02/2022 12:27

@SingaporeSlinky well done for the gym, I bet you will notice more of a difference with that and the calories. You've given me the push I need to get running, i will start 3x a week from this weekend. 8lb in under 4 weeks is amazing, I love seeing the numbers come down as it spurs me on more

SingaporeSlinky · 03/02/2022 13:00

@Cheesecakedelight yeah my DH thinks because he’s been for a long run, he can justify having a bar of chocolate when he gets back, which is fine because he doesn’t need to lose weight. But for me, a bag of crisps would cancel any calorie benefit, so it isn’t worth it.

I weigh myself every day at the moment, and it’s slightly frustrating when you see the same number for 4 days in a row, but at least I’ve been consistently going down, so when it finally pops another 1lb off, it definitely makes it all worth it. Plus I saw one of those photos of a pound of fat that’s meant to spur people on, and it does make me feel glad to know I’ve got rid of 8 of those things!

Your goal of 8st 12 - is that where you’ll be happy to maintain long term, or are you aiming for a specific event or holiday or anything?

Cheesecakedelight · 03/02/2022 16:50

@SingaporeSlinky I weigh every morning too! I've tried not to but I don't think I can do weekly.
I would be happy at 8st 12 and trying to maintain, although I think that will be hard to reach but I'm really going to try. I've got a holiday booked for october so I have a while but would ideally like to be almost there by June, going for a few child free days away in October and would love to be 9st 7lb for then but have my sons birthday just before then so will see how it goes.
Just off to google photos of 1lb of fat as not seen them 😁

Wednesdayafternoon · 03/02/2022 17:02

I'm reeeallllyyy struggling so much today! Can't stop thinking about homemade cookies 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

SingaporeSlinky · 03/02/2022 17:24

@Wednesdayafternoon NOOOOOOOO! Don’t do it 😆
It’s not even your weekend treat, you can do this! Have a glass of water and imagine how smug you’ll feel tomorrow when you can say you didn’t sabotage yourself!

Wednesdayafternoon · 03/02/2022 20:19

@SingaporeSlinky aww thank you! I didn't give in, there's no way that I would but I was really miserable about it 😭🙈

Wednesdayafternoon · 04/02/2022 08:00

Hi all I weighed myself this morning and I'm 10stone2.4.
Classing Sunday as my weekly weigh in so still got time to make a difference from last week.
Feeling abit deflated tbh as I've done so well all week but it is what it is, some weeks the loss is just easier then the others!

Hope you all have a good day xx

SingaporeSlinky · 04/02/2022 09:25

Sorry Wednesday. Have you been at 1200 all week since the weekend? Maybe try and add up the total for the week and average it out, as I think that’ll be a realistic guide to the week, IYSWIM
I don’t think it’s a simple as going up a pound because of a treat weekend, then losing it by being at 1200 the next day. The way a Dr explained it on a tv show I watched was if you ate 1200 cals for 5 days, then had 2500 on Sat and Sun, essentially you’ve had an average of 1571 every day. I’m not saying that’s what you’ve had, but as an example. I think some people stop counting at the weekend and have a big takeaway, not realising it pushes their average up quite a bit.

SingaporeSlinky · 04/02/2022 09:29

I’m 9st 13 again today.
Breakfast was coffee, plain yoghurt, granola, flax, chia, almonds and goji berries. Lunch will be scrambled eggs with chives. Dinner will be leftover chicken stir fry with rice noodles.

Wednesdayafternoon · 04/02/2022 10:44

@SingaporeSlinky yes I absolutely see what you mean! I aim for 1200 but always plan under incase there's any secret calories or of my portions are slightly out!
I've been 10 st 2 for a couple days but I'd hoped to have seen a difference as been so good since o last weighed! But hope is not lost, today and tomorrow will be good days too 🥰
I'm approaching my mid cycle in a week or so I know my weights going to start fluctuating as I have pcos so my cycle really effects my weight! But I will continue to be good, 6 out of 7 days 😅

SingaporeSlinky · 04/02/2022 11:11

Yes, I always worry I’m not logging correctly. I also make sure I add up absolutely everything, even a squirt of ketchup or a sprinkle of sesame seeds on my stir fry. I find 3 meals a little tricky on 1200. I easily fit under if I just have lunch and dinner, but today for example I had a really healthy breakfast, but it added up to 535 cals because of the granola (even though it’s the healthiest one I could find and only 2 tablespoons).
I’m only having 2 scrambled eggs for lunch (and no bread or anything) because again, the small amount of butter adds 75 cals. My brown rice noodles with dinner, again, really healthy, but one nest is 180 cals. I’ve added it all up 1243 for today.

SingaporeSlinky · 04/02/2022 12:45

Realised I didn’t need so much butter with just 2 eggs, so halved it to 5g. Also used less ketchup, so I’m bang on 1200 for the day.

So tempted to get another sticky toffee pudding and custard as a treat for the weekend, but think I’ll wait until next weekend instead. Don’t want to fall into the habit of getting it every week, and I didn’t like the fact it was 600 cals all in. I’d certainly plan the day around it next time.

What’s everyone got planned for the weekend?

Cheesecakedelight · 04/02/2022 13:02

Weigh day here and I lost a lb so now weigh 9st 10. I think i need to change my lunchtime meals as getting bored of the same thing, I will also start running again on Sunday. Tonights tea is Pizza as its weigh day and I cant wait! I have tracked it in MFP so no spare calories for a kitkat today, i love them at 3pm with a cup of tea

SingaporeSlinky · 04/02/2022 13:08

Well done Cheesecake did you google the pound of fat yesterday? That’s what you’ve lost!
Enjoy your pizza.

Cheesecakedelight · 04/02/2022 14:38

@SingaporeSlinky yes I did!! It makes you realise when you see it like that.
