I lost 10lb at the back end of last year… weighed myself this morning and I’ve put on just over 8lb over Christmas! I don’t even feel like I overate that much. I blame the baileys.

Anyway, today is a new start, going to get that weight back off and lose another stone on top.

MFP is my friend again and today shall be somewhat of a fasting day as I’ve got so much to do and feel horribly bloated.
Day 4 of no alcohol, going to keep that going for as long as possible as it’s empty calories and my evening wine was becoming far too much.

SW - 10st 8.8lb
GW - 9st

Goal weight for now is back to 10st.

Feel free to join or at least wish me luck 😬

I'm pleased but anxious as usually the next weigh in shows a big gain.

MrsHippopotamus · 27/01/2022 10:07

slinky I think the headache was a bit of both. I think the lack of sugar didn’t help 😆

Wednesday I drank so much water yesterday. Luckily not too much before bed though! 9lbs is incredible! Bet you feel much better for it.

Kimmy what is it about 4pm?! Might have to bring my dinner time up even earlier 😬

Talk Just keep chugging along, there’s no reason for you to gain when you’re doing so well. And even if you do, at least you know it’s only a blip.

10st 4 for me this morning. So back to where I was last week 😫 but I’ll take it, it’s better than a gain!
Determined to stay on plan again today. Been for a walk, need to go shopping in a mo.
Not hungry so far so will skip breakfast while I’m busy. Salad for lunch, roast chicken soup for dinner. And another early night, I felt so much better for it this morning.
Have a good day all!

Hi all,

Wednesday that made me laugh, I didn’t think a litre before bed was going to work out too well. At least you know you’re not dehydrated!
Well done on your loss! You seem to be on a great track now.

MrsH at least it’s come back down again, try to stay on track this weekend and I’m sure you’ll see even better results next week.

My scales actually had a 9 at the front today! BUT, it was 9st 13 3/4 and so far I’ve been ignoring the fractions, so I’m going to declare at 10st 0 again, just to be safe 😂 I know I shouldn’t be weighing every day anyway.

Did an aerobics class at the gym today which was a killer, and walking down the steps on the way out, I felt it! It’s going to hurt tomorrow, so I might just go for a walk tomorrow, then leave the gym until Monday.

But between walking to school, then walking to the gym, doing the class, then 15 mins gentle uphill walking on the treadmill, then walking home, my Fitbit says I’ve done 2.5 hrs of ‘fat burn’.

All I’ve had today is a load of water and one coffee, I’m really surprised I’m not ravenous! Will have a banana in a minute and then figure out lunch.

Going to make a quiche with bacon, spinach and broccoli tomorrow. I find the supermarket ones too small for us, and I used to enjoy making quiches. At least that way I can control what’s in it, and use wholemeal flour.

Have a good day everyone!

Wednesdayafternoon · 27/01/2022 13:32

@SingaporeSlinky woho tentative congratulations for you!l for breaking into the next stone! I bet tomorrow you will be sat more comfortable in there! It's so hard not to weigh yourself every day though when you're trying so hard. Most nights I weigh in so I have an idea of things are going disasterously wrong, but I know that weight isn't accurate as it's an evening weight so the morning is still a surprise. I wish I could just wait but I like to feel in control 🙈

SingaporeSlinky · 27/01/2022 13:59

Thanks Wednesday yes I have to admit I started weighing before bed too, just to see an indication but it varied wildly, depending on what I’d had for dinner and how long since I’d had a glass of water. So I’ve gone back to just mornings. The night ones fluctuated by 6lbs! My morning weight has been ultra consistent, generally staying the same for days, then 1lb off.

What meals and snacks has everyone got lined up?

I bought some flax seeds and cashews today, and a friend recommended getting a multi-lidded food storage thing for the worktop to put everything in. So I’m on the lookout for one, as I’ll have chia seeds, flax seeds, cashews, walnuts, almonds so far. She said in the morning she takes a little spoon of each and adds it to her yoghurt or porridge, to get all the nutrients in one go and set her up for the day. Makes sense as I keep forgetting as mine are all in packets in the cupboard.

Wednesdayafternoon · 27/01/2022 14:15

@SingaporeSlinky oh yes I can fluctuate around 3 pounds so I know what I'm weighing isn't correct but it just helps me managed my own expectations 😅 sounds crazy I know but if it helps it helps!

TalkToTheHand123 · 27/01/2022 14:58

My blips are quite big blips. They are usually 100% back to square 1. However, I weighed myself this morning and scales showing 15 and a half stone so pleased as I've lost the stone I gained on xmas day.

Hopefully the housework I need to do today will keep me on track too!

SingaporeSlinky · 27/01/2022 15:57

Well done @TalkToTheHand123, keep it up!

Wednesdayafternoon · 27/01/2022 17:25

@TalkToTheHand123 yaaaaasssss that's amazing!!! Well done you!
Well all have blips, sometimes a blip is a good thing too! But just keep setting yourself little goals to keep you motivated and set yourself the treats too to work towards 🥰

MrsHippopotamus · 27/01/2022 17:57

@TalkToTheHand123 That’s amazing!!! A stone since Xmas! 👏 Well done!

Good day so far. Actually haven’t eaten much today. No cravings either 🤔 had a decent sized tuna salad at lunch which kept me going. Only thing I snacked on was a mini pepparami and a satsuma. Going to have my soup soon and keep my fingers crossed for the morning weigh in.
I know I shouldn’t weigh everyday, but it keeps me accountable. If I don’t weigh I seem to ‘forget’ that I’m supposed to be losing weight and it all goes to pot 😆

TalkToTheHand123 · 28/01/2022 00:13

Aww thanks.

Good plan Mrs H.

Worked hard exercise-wise today and batch made salads but need to use up so it's been salad after salad today. I'm wrecked so off to sleep now, should sleep well, even with big gob next door!

KimmyKimdoo · 28/01/2022 09:23

Wow well done @TalkToTheHand123!

@MrsHippopotamus I love a pepperami too 😂

I am actually starting to really feel all the walking about now. I run up and down the stairs at work constantly instead of taking the lift now and my legs are aching!!

Did a tabata round last night, just 20 minutes immediately after DC to bed, 2 minute shower and felt so much better slumping onto the sofa to watch the Apprentice then! I stuck to hot water too (with fresh mint and lime) instead of decaf coffee which was good for me!

No breakfast today, just had my one coffee of the day so that’s fine. Bracing myself for the weekend - trying to find that balance of treating myself without just gorging!!!

I think takeaway tonight, get my usual pulled pulled with jalapeños but put it over a salad and no fries at all. It’s my turn to cook for DH Sat night, I’m going to do steak and stick to some lighter sides. A glass of wine but no dessert - apparently that’s how Megan Markle does it 😂

I told DH I’m going for a run this Sunday - that’s my first one in a while (I used to run two miles every single day - not a big run but I did it every day without fail and loved it).

SingaporeSlinky · 28/01/2022 11:42

Morning all, aching arms and legs today from my aerobics class yesterday. Went for a 2 hour walk this morning which included school drop off and a few errands, already at 11,500 steps, so going to take it easy for the rest of the day and then head back to the gym on Monday.

Weirdly, I seem to have lost my appetite completely. Had a tuna salad for dinner around 6pm last night and then just water before my walk this morning. I actually felt quite weak by the time I got home, but even now I’m not hungry. Having a coffee now but going to have to force myself to eat lunch. Making a quiche this afternoon for dinner. And treated myself to a sticky toffee pudding and pot of Madagascan vanilla custard, which I think we’ll all have tomorrow. Really wrestled with myself in the supermarket over whether or not to buy it, but my friend said I’ve been so good these last 3 weeks, it’s a one-off treat. And I’ll just be sensible with my portion, maybe have an early dinner so I don’t have eat the pudding too late in the evening.

10st this morning, so it’ll be interesting to see what all my gym work does to my weight loss in the next few weeks. I’m sure it takes a while to see any difference.

Have a good weekend everyone!

MrsHippopotamus · 28/01/2022 12:37

Kimmy & Slinky your are both on a roll! I’m exhausted just reading your posts! 😆
Well done both

Good day so far, managed a decent walk this morning. I need to get back in to doing some workouts but I just don’t have the energy still.
Off to give the bathroom a good scrub. Hopefully that will burn some calories 😬

Omg you're all making me fell jealous with your exercise! Tbh I haven't been doing ANY. No walking or work outs. I wish I had time but atm I just don't 😬 But well done all! Healthy body healthy mind healthy you ♥️♥️♥️

REALLY enjoyed my breakfast today! I felt like I was eating a lot with minimal calories! I had it about 10.

Weigh in tomorrow before having a weekend off 🙈 Anyone else weighing in tomorrow ?

@SingaporeSlinky oh it's so hard because they say muscle weighs more then fat don't they so will maybe have to concentrate more on your clothes etc then the scales 🤷🏼‍♀️ You've done well though! 2 pounds off this week for you 😀😀😀😀

Here we go…
KimmyKimdoo · 28/01/2022 17:06

Well done everyone and thanks for the love ❤️ @MrsHippopotamus don’t underestimate the cleaning calories - it’s definitely a work out!! @Wednesdayafternoon I know it’s so hard to find time!! I’m aiming for 20 minutes morning and 20 minutes in the evening. So I’m just getting up straight away and doing some yoga/ stretching at the moment with a drink of water and the news on in the lounge. Hardly very tough but it gets me up and in the routine. I really want to get a peleton to turn this into 20 minutes of cycling?? Then evening as soon as DC in bed, don’t sit down just straight away 20 minutes of exercises (squats/ press-up/ sit ups/ star jumps etc). Then quick shower and into pjs to flop out. It’s doable - can’t even imagine goi to a class and having the time to drive there and back! When it’s nice and light in the evenings again, I could go for a quick 2 mile run again each evening which I used to do, that’s 20 minutes max too probably less. Hope everyone has a good weekend!!

Wednesdayafternoon · 29/01/2022 07:48

Hi all so just weighed in and I'm 10st2.6 ! So I was 10st 7 on Monday so I'm chuffed with that.
I'm not dieting over the weekend so I do expect a couple pound gain and I'm absolutely ok with that. I hope I can get to around 10 stone by next Saturday 🥰
10.6 pounds off in just under 2 weeks! So glad I found this thread I honestly would never have tried calories counting or stuck to it so thank you all ♥️♥️♥️
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

SingaporeSlinky · 29/01/2022 08:12

Oh my goodness @Wednesdayafternoon that’s fantastic! Well done!

Wednesdayafternoon · 29/01/2022 08:28

@SingaporeSlinky oh thank you so much ♥️ I really should weigh myself Monday - Monday really because I don't diet on the weekend so it won't feel like a gain then but it's just too exciting 🥰🥰🥰

TalkToTheHand123 · 29/01/2022 08:52

Blimey some atheletes here! Got some catching up to do!

Nearly finished my salads. Light exercises on the menu for the next day or two as quite tired.

MrsHippopotamus · 29/01/2022 09:22

Oooft! @Wednesdayafternoon what a bloody good week you’ve had! Fantastic result, well done!

Not a bad day in the end yesterday. Apart from the fish finger sandwich and glass of wine I had for dinner 🙈 but other than that, I behaved! No snacking!
Today will be soup for lunch. Either salad or stir fry for dinner, haven’t decided yet. And again, no snacking!
You’re all putting me to shame so I need to pull my socks up 😆 and focus!

Have a good Saturday everyone!

@Campervan69 are you still with us? Hope you’re ok.

I’m going to weigh in on Monday since it’ll be the last day of January and then set a new goal for February.

Still aching from Thursday’s class! No real plans this weekend, natural bio yoghurt for breakfast with some granola, flax and chia. Roasted veg with cous cous for lunch, and then chicken breast with something for dinner.

Wednesdayafternoon · 29/01/2022 10:08

@MrsHippopotamus thank you lovely ♥️♥️♥️

@SingaporeSlinky a monthly goal, I like the sound of that!

SingaporeSlinky · 29/01/2022 13:06

Wow I remembered that I’d bought a treat pudding yesterday (sticky toffee pudding and Madagascan vanilla custard) so I thought I’d log it on MFP now and it’s coming in at over 600 cals. So I’m looking at being about 800 over today. I’m going to have a really small portion of dinner, but it’s crazy how many cals a pudding has. It is just a one-off, but no wonder ‘cheat days’ ruin the week’s good gains.

Wednesdayafternoon · 29/01/2022 13:26

@SingaporeSlinky I've just eaten a whole Easter egg and I had a very quick glance at the calories even though I'm being naughty and it made my stomach fall through my arse 😂🙈
