I lost 10lb at the back end of last year… weighed myself this morning and I’ve put on just over 8lb over Christmas! I don’t even feel like I overate that much. I blame the baileys.

Anyway, today is a new start, going to get that weight back off and lose another stone on top.

MFP is my friend again and today shall be somewhat of a fasting day as I’ve got so much to do and feel horribly bloated.
Day 4 of no alcohol, going to keep that going for as long as possible as it’s empty calories and my evening wine was becoming far too much.

SW - 10st 8.8lb
GW - 9st

Goal weight for now is back to 10st.

Good luck Mrs H. I thought I was finally making progress when the scales changed from 16 stone to 15.5 stones, but last weigh in was just under 16 stone.

Latest plan is to cut out the pasta, so hopefully notice the scales going on the right direction over the next few days.

Here’s hoping it’s just a lot of water weight… that’s what I’m telling myself anyway. Although I know that’s a complete lie as I can tell by my wobbly bits that it’s not water 🤣 We can get it off!

I’m coeliac so pasta is already off the menu… it’s the mindless snacking that I need to address. I find it quite easy once I’ve got passed the first week. So I need to buckle down. I see a lot of early nights on the horizon

I had to have a couple of hours sleep on Sunday afternoon to catch up.

I need to plan my evenings as well as my food. It's getting past midnight before I get to bed lately. I was losing weight quite well when I was getting early nights. Enjoy yours!

That’s the trick isn’t it? Need to change up the routine.

I’m quite disappointed in myself tbh, I had a good exercise routine going and was starting to see a slight change in body shape. But for a multitude of reasons I let it all slide and now I’m back to square one… I bloody hate exercise but I was starting to enjoy it. Need a kick up the bum.

No matter, we start again.

Only had 2 coffees today, no chance to eat yet and I’m not even hungry tbh so going to wait until I actually need to eat rather than just for the sake of it

So today didn’t work out so well… I remembered that ‘fasting’ doesn’t quite work for me any more. A morning fast is ok but otherwise I end up face down in a bag of crisps. As I did today. And chocolate, roast dinner, tea & biscuits, etc…

Tomorrow is another day and I’ve planned a bit better so 🤞

Aww. I prepare my weetabix drinks and salad the night before. I try to wait as long as possible on a morning for that fasting kick but not really happening but thats ok as at least it's decent food.

I'll drink lemon tea or fruity tea and tomatoe or other soups (packets) with brown bread sometimes to keep me going.

How've you planned for tomorrow?

Yep, I should’ve been more prepared. In all fairness I had it in my head that I was going to start today (I like starting on a Wednesday for some reason!) so I’m not too disappointed.

Had a shop delivered yesterday and I’m going to prep some salad. So will probably have a ham & egg salad at lunchtime. Even though there’s snow on the ground 🙈

Then most likely a chicken salad with new potatoes for dinner. I do like my salad, especially as I can eat loooads of it for not many calories. I love chomping away.

I was hoping to go for a long walk but nearly fell on my arse during the school run so will go on the treadmill instead.

Good luck today, we can do this!

I had my second son in May 2020 and put a good few stone on. I managed to lose most of it just the last stone which is lingering. I joined slimming world last summer and lost it, however it has creeped back on which is completely my own fault and no reflection of slimming world. I'm not too upset about the gains to be honest because I've had a lot of events and activities and birthdays and Christmas so c'est la vie!
To be honest I just don't really have the time or money for slimming world at the moment. I've done it before and it worked really well for me but I do find it to be quite consuming. I'm planning on doing the special K diet for a fortnight just to give me a kickstart. Ideally I'd like to lose half a stone but in the long term I would perhaps like to lose around 10lbs!

Well done on your weight loss, not easy after having kids!

I tried to do things like the special K diet in the past but I got bored too easily and figured I could play about and have something different for the same amount of calories. But if it works then great 👍

I feel the same about Christmas weight gain. I’m disappointed when I look in the mirror but I enjoyed it at the time so I can’t get too upset about it. Just need to find that willpower I had before I fell face first into the baileys and chipolatas.

I think that it is so important to not get to beat up or down about it because then you just end up in a vicious cycle of feeling rubbish and then not starting. I think where I go wrong is that I feel like I'm about a stone heavier than what I am. In the grand scheme of things I really don't have that much weight to lose, but the weighy hat I've put on is really made the clothes size that I'm in very uncomfortable so naturally I just feel like I've put a lot more weight on then what I have. Anyway I started off with my special K this morning and then I think I'm going to make myself a chicken salad with a boiled egg for my dinner. I've got a fruit and nut bar as a snack during the day which I know in hindsight probably isn't the best idea as nuts have a lot of fat in them, but I am thinking that it will help keep me full there for longer and better facts and a packet of crisps maybe?

Yup, I hear you. I’m 5ft4, so 10st 8lb shouldn’t look too bad on me but it just does
It doesn’t suit me at all and doesn’t help that most of my weight ends up around my face & middle.
So I know I haven’t got an awful lot to lose but I’ll feel much better about myself at around 9st.

Have you tried calorie counting? I know it’s quite tedious but it does work for me. I can have whatever I want as long as it fits my budget for the day.

I like to think of it as money, I either have enough to afford to buy something or I need to wait until tomorrow when I get paid Grin if that makes sense

Yes I hear you. I'm about 5ft6 and I didn't weight this morning but I expect I'm about 10stone9/10 which is well outside of my normal and even naughty range!
I feel like my stable weight is about 10stone but I would like to be about 9stone 11 but at the minute 10 is my goal!

So far I've had a good day today. Special k, chicken wrap and salad and a nut bar. Probably shouldn't have had the wrap but I'm too cold for just a salad today 🙈

At the moment I’m allowing 1350. Might up it to just under 1500 in a couple of weeks once I’ve had a reset on my eating habits.
I went under 1200 for a time… I lost weight but I also lost quite a bit of hair so I want to be sensible this time round.

Not doing too bad today.
Coffee x 2
Ham hock & egg salad
Cup of tea and a bag of crisps

Crisps were totally unnecessary but I fancied them 😬 that’s why I like calorie counting, if it fits, I can have it.
Must make sure I fit enough protein in though, that’s where I lack sometimes.

I’m trying to cut down on all the lazy sugary snacks, constant coffee refills and general storage.

I need to eat lots of times through the day else I’m starrrrrving so I’m keeping to four small meals, keeping it as healthy as possible whilst still being nice!!

Today so far:

Breakfast - one gluten free waffle and handful of blueberries. Lemon and hot water.

Lunch - tomato soup with a handful of gf pretzels sprinkled on top. Then a banana.

After School Supper - half a chicken breast sliced up with a handful of walnuts and sliced red pepper.

Later I’ll be having cod with lots of green veggies for dinner.

Your menu today sounds delicious 😋 love a bit of cod. I noticed a few gf products there, are you gluten free too?

Still chugging on today. I actually don’t fancy any dinner after my late lunch. Just had 200g of roasted new potatoes instead 😆 I absolutely adore them, so delicious and can have so many of them for few cals.

Going to save my cals for this evening, some tea & biscuits.
Not very healthy, I know, and protein is seriously lacking but I don’t want to force food down for the sake of it.

Ended the day on 1400 cals 👍 happy enough with that.

Definitely need to eat proper meals tomorrow though rather than just one big one! I do like having a snack with a cuppa in the evening though.

Got tikka masala & cauliflower rice for dinner tomorrow, salad for lunch. Might have a porridge for breakfast if I’m hungry enough otherwise I’ll save the cals for an evening snack while watching Locke & Key 👍
Anyone seen that btw? Really enjoying it!

@KimmyKimdoo I was diagnosed coeliac around 4 years ago… definitely takes some getting used to! I hate it tbh but I try to look on the bright side, I never eat takeaways now so that makes dieting a bit easier.
I’m a pretty boring cook though so I doubt you’ll find much inspiration in my meals! 😬

Hi. Can anyone join in? I weighed in after New years day at 12 stone 6lbs. I want to get to 10 stone if possible although it is a stretch. I'm doing Cambridge to use up some sachets I've got then have ordered a weeks supply of a new diet called The New You Plan which sounds similar but is cheaper. I just want an accountability thread if that's OK? This morning I was 11 stone 13lbs so 7lbs off already which will have been water I think.

I’m glad to have the company even if we all plan to lose the weight in different ways. We all have the same goal of losing the lbs!

I remember I tried ‘slim n save’ a few years ago but just couldn’t stick to it. You’ve got great willpower!

I’m looking forward to seeing the scales go down. I know that’s not what I should fully focus on but it just makes me so much more determined.
