Accountability - three stone needs to go

Mellowyellow222 · 01/01/2022 19:49

Stood on the scales today - I have gained three stone since 2019. None of my clothes fit and I feel really unfit - can’t even touch my toes!

So today is day one. I have walked 17,000 steps and eaten 1500 calories. No booze and no chocolate.

History of ED so need to be sensible.

Goal is to eat less and walk every day. Treadmill ordered.

Yep that has pretty much been me my whole life…binge, restrict, binge, restrict. That is partly why I have tried to slow my weight loss down to 1lb a week this time. See if it makes it easier to maintain. I’m not convinced but time will tell!

Oblomov22 · 08/03/2022 17:50

Weighed myself today. Biggest I've ever been. Bugger.

TaggieWeightLoss · 08/03/2022 19:54

@Oblomov22. - I was where you are a couple of months ago. Sending you sympathy and empathy.

Mellowyellow222 · 08/03/2022 20:23

@Oblomov22 that was me 1 jan. I was incredibly frustrated and embarrassed. I was even struggling to tie my shoe laces while standing up. My coat wouldn’t zip.

It’s nearly ten weeks now and I have lost 1st 3. I feel so much better. Still a way to go - but it hasn’t been that hard to get this far.

I have hit a plateau! No weight loss this week.

It was bound to happen - but it’s frustrating and I am in danger of giving up!

The eating is creeping up so I need to keep loggin everything and getting some exercise!

Week 9 for me:

SW. 14st 7
CW 13st 13

So that is 1lb lost for me this week. 8lb in total. I have also broken into the next stone bracket. I did 5 gym classes this week and really enjoying seeing my body get stronger.

@Mellowyellow222 don’t you dare give up. I nearly gave up after I had Covid and put a few pounds back on. You guys carrying on kept me going. Maybe just accept now you have lost a fair bit that your weight loss may slow down a bit. We can always check in during the week if it keeps us motivated.

Mellowyellow222 · 12/03/2022 09:20

Thanks @CrunchieForMe! Just a bit frustrated. Having been sitting that the same weight for nearly two weeks now! But I will wear the jeans today that I couldn’t fit into for the Christmas night out! That should make me feel better.

Intellectually I know this is totally normal - weight fluctuates - plateaus happen. This isn’t even a long one! But I am just feeling a little down today.

Had scrambled eggs with turkey bacon for breakfast which was delish. Upping protein might help

This week-
Today's wt- 13 St 3
Start wt- 14 St 0
Total loss 11lb
Goal wt 10 St 10
That's 2 lb off this week which I'm happy about. @Mellowyellow222 it does fluctuate from one day to the next a lot. Also I've found the loss appears to peter out but then suddenly drop several pounds for no apparent reason, so pls don't lose hope! A super tough week for me this week for all sorts of reasons, but on the plus side I had no time/motivation/appetite to eat so silver linings and all that! Well done @CrunchieForMe and everyone still showing up and still trying at it x

fingersandthumbs · 13/03/2022 08:04

Morning all,

I’m so proud of you all for how well you’re doing. I’m only at the end of the second week,, but seeing how those of you who started in January are still making choices that will positively impact on your long term health and weight is helping to keep me going. It’s been a week full of temptations with my husbands, dad’s and brother’s birthday cakes and meals out but I’ve made healthy choices and have allowed myself a small slice of cake and counterbalanced it by using a friends treadmill and walking on an incline for 20 minutes. My calves hurt after that!

Starting weight 15:11
Today’s weight 15:2
Loss week 4lbs
Total loss 9lbs

I know loss will slow drastically from now. My short term target is to be in the next stone bracket in 2 weeks.

Keep on keeping on everyone

Silversprinkles · 15/03/2022 21:35

SW 13 Stone 10 (early Jan)

I weighed on Friday 4th and was 12 stone 8.

I then got on an airplane and have spent 10 days at a lengthy work conference in Europe with 2 weekends either side of schmoozing and boozing. Think heavy hotel food, carbs and lots of beer/wine. Late nights and not enough sleep.

I am back and NOT weighing until this Saturday again to give me a chance to lose at least some of the water retention from the carbs! (And had a big poo, I'm so bunged up from all the pasta!)

Mellowyellow222 · 16/03/2022 20:59

@Silversprinkles sounds like a great trip though!!! You will get back on track pretty quick

Silversprinkles · 16/03/2022 21:09

It was really good to catch up with colleagues and contacts I've not seen for ages - 2 years in many cases - so I definitely did more socialising than I usually would.

It was lovely and has already generated some extra work so all good. I am doing a long walk every day this week to get me back in the zone! Swim slot already booked for the weekend too.

Jeds55 · 17/03/2022 01:18

That does sound like an amazing trip Silversprinkles! Sounds like it's done you the world of good. Sounds like you're back on track this wewk already

Jeds55 · 17/03/2022 01:22

I'm still here, catching up every so often. Been finding it tough - March is a very busy month for birthdays. Baby is still up 3 times a night and doesn't seek to want to nap in the day either so pretty exhausted. Also having to eat quick easy food as she complains when put down. I csn put her in sling from this week so at least will have both hands back. Into the 12 stones now - around 12st 12.

Jeds55 · 17/03/2022 01:27

@Mellowyellow222 a week without losing is so demoralising but I bet if you stick to ot this week you'll see a great loss next weigh in. Seeing spring arriving is giving me a bit of a boost - it'll have been 3 months on diet soon, that's a great achievement

Mellowyellow222 · 19/03/2022 05:20

Week 11

Start weight: 12st 10
Current weight: 11st 5
Goal weight: 9st 10

Total loss: 1st 5
Left to lose: 1st 9

Mellowyellow222 · 19/03/2022 05:21

Thank you everyone for the encouraging words - plateau island over and i lost 2lbs this week!

OP posts:
Jeds55 · 19/03/2022 05:39

Well done @Mellowyellow222. I see you're approaching half way to your weight loss target, that'll be a great psychological boost.
Been up with poorly baby all through night and period due. Taken all my will power not to raid cupboards but haven't.

Jeds55 · 19/03/2022 05:41

I was messaging someone I hadn't since start of Jan - first week of diet, and was nice to look back and see how far I've come.

CrunchieForMe · 19/03/2022 08:21

I stayed the same this week which is a bit surprising but maybe looking back I wasn’t as strict and a few treats crept back in. We have got a wedding to go to today so back to some food tracking from Sunday.

SW 14.7
CW 13.13

Maybe I will have 2lb loss like @Mellowyellow222 next week.

Mellowyellow222 · 19/03/2022 10:25

@CrunchieForMe I plot my weight loss daily and it’s all over the place!! But overall the trend is downward - so even though it’s frustrating keeping to the low calories and walking is working for me.

I am starting to notice a difference - size 14 work trousers are tight but they fit. I even have some more generous size 14 jeans that are a bit too big (marks and Spencer’s so vanity sizing!!).

It has taken 19lbs to drop from a size 16 to a size 14. But I am feeling more positive about going back to the office - every week there are more clothes in m wardrobe that fit. It’s frustrating when they don’t - and the nicest clothes are size 12. But I will get there

Week 3

Lots of dog walking this week as my husband is away so isn’t here to help out.

Starting weight 15:11
Current weight 15:0
Total loss 11lbs
Week loss 2lbs

Silversprinkles · 20/03/2022 13:53

@Mellowyellow222 that's fab, well done!

Silversprinkles · 20/03/2022 13:58

SW 13 stone 10

CW 12 stone 10 (week 9 for me I think)

GW 11 stone 10

So after my mad conference week, I've put on 2lbs which honestly is not as bad as I feared. I'm pretty sure I had some major carb/booze/flight water retention that was making me feel tired and bloated but a few days back on the wagon before weighing this morning seems to have helped.

I'm off out for a walk this afternoon as it's a beautiful day here. Have a great week everyone and keep going towards your goals!
