Accountability - three stone needs to go

Mellowyellow222 · 01/01/2022 19:49

Stood on the scales today - I have gained three stone since 2019. None of my clothes fit and I feel really unfit - can’t even touch my toes!

So today is day one. I have walked 17,000 steps and eaten 1500 calories. No booze and no chocolate.

History of ED so need to be sensible.

Goal is to eat less and walk every day. Treadmill ordered.

good spot on the oven chips - sadly got me thinking and I may have been making the same error in reverse, with whether nutrition for lentils is the dry weight or when they've been soaked Sad

Silversprinkles · 14/02/2022 21:26

So how has your Valentine's been ladies?

DH made me breakfast in bed (porridge with berries so not very low carb but at least not pancakes and syrup! His idea of what is low carb can be amusing Confused)

I had a small amount of chicken with a dip for lunch.

I made lovely steak, roast potatoes and veg dinner. No dessert this year, didn't need it, stuffed. Steaks were a good size!
No alcohol - we both hardly drink anyway and didn't want any tonight as both working tomorrow.

He would usually buy me chocs but I asked him not to this year and he listened! He's taking me to get a present for my hobby - much more sensible that I choose as he wouldn't have a clue Smile

Mellowyellow222 · 15/02/2022 21:55

@Silversprinkles nothing special for Valentine’s Day!

I am trying to kick start the weight loss by walking more - I had gotten very lazy!!

Panicking about work clothes - still not fitting into the size 14s and have meetings tomorrow and Friday!

DH isn’t the hearts and flowers type, sadly. I don’t think he noticed valentines!

I seem to be on a plateau. I am thinking about doing the 30 day shred to get things going again. I did it before about 10 years ago and it is very effective. But I have a non-covid virus so will need to wait, I think.

Hardtofindafreename · 16/02/2022 16:57

Hi all, I last posted here on 01 Jan having lost 2 stone but today I can happily say there is another one gone so 3 stone altogether. I credit My Fitness Pal where I weighed absolutely everything I ate, stayed within my calories most days but I also had small treats (2 biscuits every night/ a square of chocolate). I do believe one of the other big factors for me was a 5km walk virtually every day, hail, rain or shine, early mornings or late at night it had to get done.

I did enjoy days out, a wedding or two, even all the Christmas treats but then the next few days I was extra good. I ate low carb bread, lots of veg with my lunch and dinner and had no starvation. Portion control was so important and I had no idea I had been eating so much until I weighed it.

Imo If you want to loose the weight, keep your eye on the target, remind yourself how far you have come and get out and get moving. You can do it - take control and look forward to the future not back at what you ate yesterday.

I'm nearly where I want to be with weight, sleep is better, my mood is better, energy is better. I'm 59 now and fitter and healthier than I ever was. Go for it

Mellowyellow222 · 16/02/2022 17:01

@Hardtofindafreename that’s amazing - well done!

I have now lost 13lb some 1 jan - so still two stone to go. But I’ll get there!

How long has it taken you in total to lose the three stone?

OP posts:
Hardtofindafreename · 16/02/2022 21:23

@Mellowyellow222 I half heartedly started mid July and then in earnest about 1 month later. So 7 months in total. I had set myself a target of Easter this year so I'm fairly right on that as while I want to loose a little bit more, I'm not as strict on it. I do still log everything on MFP bit now I know by sight what a portion size is.

Mellowyellow222 · 16/02/2022 22:20

Well done! Inspiring.

I have a holiday planned at Easter and would love to have lost another stone by then - if I can continue to lose half a stone a month.

My next mini goal is to get out of the obese categories. I am at 30.4 now so very close😊

Hardtofindafreename · 17/02/2022 20:35

@Mellowyellow222. You're doing great. Slow and steady. It's such a good motivator to see the weight coming down and moving down a category is such a boost. Well done.

Mellowyellow222 · 19/02/2022 07:52

I seem to be the only one doing the weekly weigh in now!

I will continue and if anyone wants to start again they are more than welcomeSmile.

Huge goal reached today - bmi under 30! I am no longer in the obese category!!!

It’s 29.8 - vey top end of overweight and still a lot of weight to shift. But I’m not obese anymore Star

OP posts:
Silversprinkles · 20/02/2022 12:28

I'm still here! Huge congratulations on moving categories, that is such an achievement! 👏👏👏

Remembered to weigh this morning finally!

SW (early Jan) 13 stone 10
CW 12 stone 11
GW 11 stone 10 (for normal BMI)

Almost a stone in about 6 weeks.
Just wish I'd started earlier but keeping going!

Mellowyellow222 · 20/02/2022 12:32

Hello @Silversprinkles! Well done - a stone in sox weeks is awesome.

Are you noticing a different in clothes yet? I am frustrated I haven’t dropped a dress size yet.

OP posts:
Silversprinkles · 20/02/2022 16:51

No real difference in clothes yet. I'm tall, so maybe it will take longer to see and notice it than it would on someone short. I do feel my abdomen is a bit flatter, my face isn't quite as puffy and I feel a bit more energetic than I did! All benefits of reducing carbs for me I think.

Lemurville · 20/02/2022 20:59

Hi, just wondering if I could join in, as I've been following the posts most weeks and also have 3 stone plus to lose.
Current weight (yesterday)- 13 st 6
Start weight- 14 st 0
Total loss- 8lb
Goal wt- 10 st 10
Am losing weight (currently Slimfast/low carb and going to gym) slowly but is fab to see it going down! Big congrats to you all for so much progress already! New habits take time to form so there are likely to be little pauses along the way x

CrunchieForMe · 20/02/2022 21:13

I’m still kinda lurking and following. We all had Covid so my good eating went to S**t but determined to get back on it. In 4lb down since January with lots of fluctuations in between. I will weigh in every week again!

TaggieWeightLoss · 20/02/2022 22:16

Poking my head round the door quickly. I’ve got covid (mild but unpleasant!) and so have been going easy on myself, particularly regarding exercise.

Weight this week is 12 st 12. Lost one pound from last week. As soon as I’m better, I’m embarking on the 30 day shred to try to get off this plateau!

Well done everyone and welcome to @Lemurville 🙂

Mellowyellow222 · 21/02/2022 18:34

@TaggieWeightLoss sorry you are poorly - take care of yourself.

@CrunchieForMe sorry you had a rough start to the year and welcome back!

@Lemurville welcome!

I still haven’t reached my most prized goal - fitting into my work wardrobe! I am going to Edinburgh for a meeting on Thursday - and I need to buy some more size 16 clothes😳😳.

But it will make it soon

CrunchieForMe · 26/02/2022 09:39

@Mellowyellow222 you are doing so well!

I’ve lost 2lb this week so that is now 6lb since January.
Start weight 14st 7
Current weight 14st 1

I’ve not consistently watched what I eat but I have been going to the gym 4/5 times a week and feel amazing for it. Trying to look on the bright side of my very slow weight loss Hmm

Lemurville · 26/02/2022 11:37

Thanks and congrats @Mellowyellow222 thats fab, and how was your trip to Edinburgh?
Also well done @CrunchieForMe you'll get there
I'm away for the weekend so will have to weigh Monday instead, but sadly expecting a gain this week as hotel comes with breakfast 😅

Mellowyellow222 · 26/02/2022 14:18

Well done @CrunchieForMe!

@Lemurville trip went well - but hard to stay to calories limit with eating out!! But still lost 1lb this week so quite pleased. Hate travelling go with work - wrecked now

OP posts:
TaggieWeightLoss · 27/02/2022 06:45

Start weight on 7/12/2021: 14 stone 12
Current weight: 12 stone 10
Goal weight: 11 stone 5

Lost 2 st 2 lbs so far. About 1.5 stone left to go. A milestone this week is that I’m out of the obese weight range for the first time in many years 🎉

I’ve been on a plateau but manages to lose two pounds this week, which I’m pleased about. I start the 30 day shred on 1st March (easier to keep track if I start on the first of the month!).

Well done everyone else on good losses this week 👏 👏

Silversprinkles · 27/02/2022 13:04

SW (early Jan) 13 stone 10
CW 12 stone 10
GW 11 stone 10

Halfway to my first goal weight of being back in the "normal" BMI range. Just one pound off this week but it's still one pound skews to go to my goal.

Have a good week everyone!

Silversprinkles · 27/02/2022 13:05

Less not skews. Oh for an edit button!
