Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/12/2021 11:07

Im 30 and I weigh 19st 7lb.

Ideally I'd like to lose 10st. I'm obese and I hate it.
I started again dieting yesterday.

I can only manage 5000 steps a day due to being disabled, and I do those with a frame.

I'm hopeful that if I lose the weight there'll be less pressure on my already buggered joints.

Anyone else with a lot to lose would you like a daily check in thread with me?

That's me fed for the day. Very tempted to have a treat before bed because I've come in so under today but I also know going out tomorrow is going to be completely over so could be a bit of damage control for me if I don't have a treat tonight.

Starting properly today as I can finally weigh myself and Friday is always my start day. I have redone my WW free foods (tanks to te pp who suggested this) so now have free oats instead of avocado, but my free foods are definitely more limited under the new system.

Katyppp · 07/01/2022 07:03

20st 12lb is the official starting point. Not as bad as I thought but bad enough

hopingforabrighterfuture2021 · 07/01/2022 13:56

Hi all,

14 days is nothing! Half way there already- that’s really interesting.

WW is working well for me, I have all fruits and veg as zero, chicken breast, fish, eggs, avocado and potatoes and this is a great mix for me. Weigh in tomorrow so we shall see, but I’m feeling really positive.

@Katyppp hope you’re finding it a bit easier- it definitely does take some playing around with. What kind of things are you eating? We are a similar starting weight so would be nice to motivate each other if you’re up for that. Flowers

hopingforabrighterfuture2021 · 07/01/2022 13:57

@DollyDingleberry how are you getting on with WW?

HerRoyalHappiness · 07/01/2022 14:12

How's everyone getting on? @hopingforabrighterfuture2021 I'm glad you've found something that works for you.

I'm giving myself a pat on the back today. I've had therapy and it was a very emotional session, and usually I'd be reaching for the comfort food. But not today. Today I've stayed on track. I'm not even hungry or craving food. I'm just letting myself feel sad for little me while loving big me by making sure I eat nutritious meals instead of junk. Mind you, I am having fish finger wraps for tea Grin but its not the 6 packs of crisps plus a shed load of chocolate I'd usually have eaten by now.

I'm on antidepressants and antipsychotics which both cause weight gain. Unfortunately I can't come off them because of how bad my MH I'd but I'm hoping I can limit the effects of them.

It's really soul destroying when your meds are working against you. I stopped taking the blood pressure meds straight away which I now know was bloody stupid. 3 days later I was in the clinic having an ECG because of chest pains. Thankfully everything was ok but my doctor gave me a bollocking along with a prescription for another type which doesn't cause weight gain.

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 07/01/2022 14:36

We can do absolutely anything for 14 days. It’s nothing.

I desperately want to believe this but honestly, some days I can't even manage 14 hours.

Worryingly well Grin

I haven't weighed myself yet but I feel like I'm eating absolutely loads which is making me worry a bit that I'm gaining rather than losing. Really tempted to weight myself tonight just for reassurance more than anything.

That said, my diet is most definitely healthier. I'm adding veggies to everything because it gives me points back - just adding lettuce and cucumber to my cheese sandwich yesterday gave me 2 points back. Old-me would have just had the sandwich and passed on the hamster food Blush

Today i was convinced I'd eaten my breakfast because I wasn't hungry - then DH found it in the microwave so I'd obviously made it and not eaten it Hmm That's a sign that I'm not hungry though!

Overall, in terms of hunger and ease of sticking to - the plan is great. My question is if I'm actually losing weight but I suppose we'll find out on monday!

For those days take it hour by hour. Also - are you hungry? or just craving?
BringBackCoffeeCreams · 07/01/2022 14:42

I have a feeling my WWs is different to yours. I'm not in the UK and as far as I'm aware we don't have any choice in what foods are free. Just 3 plan options.

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 07/01/2022 14:48

When it's bad I can't tell the difference between those two. I just feel like I have to eat and I have no control and can only stop when I feel so full that I feel physically sick. It's like an addiction, like when I gave up smoking, the drive to eat becomes all consuming and nothing else matters.

I'm hoping that changing to a new medicne will mean an end to days like that. I haven't felt sick since I quit them just before Christmas but I've only just started the new ones as I was scared about it starting again.

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 07/01/2022 14:51

So I do need to switch to the 14 day attitude. I think I've got to learn to trust myself again after 8 months of being on the bad meds. And actually I haven't dieted for 14 days yet, what with Christmas and all the stollen, but I have been binge free for 14 days, which I should focus on.

It's the new plan that started in November - you do a questionnaire and it tells you which foods you have free. You can answer it differently though to get a different free type of food if that makes sense. So for example, I told it I mostly eat potato every day so my potatoes are free - if you say meat is your main thing then your meat is free etc.
hopingforabrighterfuture2021 · 07/01/2022 15:03

@DollyDingleberry that’s exactly what I’m finding, but I’m just hoping for the best, and my diet is DEFINITELY also healthier, way less sugar and a lot more fresh veg and good fats. The thing is, I actually enjoy eating this way, I was just eating too much rubbish on top of all the healthy stuff! My weigh in is tomorrow, so we shall see! Good luck for yours. What zero foods do you have? I have all veg, fruit, potatoes, avocado, fish and skinless chicken breast.

hopingforabrighterfuture2021 · 07/01/2022 15:04

Oh and eggs!

BringBackCoffeeCreams · 07/01/2022 15:13

I'm so observant I hadn't even noticed it had changed. What a muppet. In my defence I tend to just log in to track my weight as not actually counting points at the moment.

RenGreen · 07/01/2022 15:55

Has anyone lost their appetite? I think if someone offered me a bag of dairy milk buttons I could eat it but literally I don’t want to eat anything not sure what’s happening. Maybe it’s a sugar withdrawal? I also have nausea, insomnia and diarrhoea!

stackhead · 07/01/2022 15:59

Oooh. I get to 14 days on track on Tuesday so that's good news. I had one over cal day this week - but only 3/400 ish and i'd walked 15k steps that day so I still created the same deficit as normal. No kicking myself here.

Just plodding. Tracking each day, enjoying what I'm eating and getting my steps in. I have a meal out every weekend in January now, with visitors every weekend! So will be a bit of guestimating and attempting to stay on track but feeling focused.

HerRoyalHappiness · 07/01/2022 16:34

@RenGreen I've lost my appetite completely. I'm just not hungry. I'm taking it as a win.

@stackhead you're doing really well

Can I join in. Keep floating around the 20st and want to bring blood sugar down. Going to a wedding this year and will have to find a nice dress where I don't look like the sofa

HerRoyalHappiness · 07/01/2022 16:42

Welcome @Youmeanyouvelostyourkey I'm sure you'll look fab at the upcoming wedding, ano matter what your weight is.

Will weigh myself tomorrow and ‘start’ properly as least I know I have a goal. I think I’ll measure as well. So pleased did a 40 minute walk today then carried all my shopping home from the supermarket for some strength training. Kids having Mac and cheese (homemade) with salmon. I’ll have mine with brown rice and some lentil curry (homemade too).

RenGreen · 07/01/2022 17:46

I’ve also downloaded Joe Wicks

HerRoyalHappiness · 07/01/2022 18:05
