Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/12/2021 11:07

Im 30 and I weigh 19st 7lb.

Ideally I'd like to lose 10st. I'm obese and I hate it.
I started again dieting yesterday.

I can only manage 5000 steps a day due to being disabled, and I do those with a frame.

I'm hopeful that if I lose the weight there'll be less pressure on my already buggered joints.

Anyone else with a lot to lose would you like a daily check in thread with me?

Can I join in please? I need to lose about 10st, possibly slightly less but still a massive hill to climb but am determined to do it.

Am doing WW @madmadamemim how are you finding it? It’s the only thing that’s ever worked for me pre-kids and I really like the new plan, so determined this year is the one I crack it.

Good luck to everyone!

stackhead · 03/01/2022 19:36

I never even look at the other macros! In my head the focus is on weight loss, if I make it too complicated by trying to balance carbs/protein, eat 5 a day etc... I get overwhelmed and stop. It's all about calories for me...

Speaking of.
Went out for lunch today to ASK aaaaand stayed within calories. Arancini followed by seabass with no pudding (well a spoon of DD's ice cream) and driving so diet coke. Well chuffed!

First WI of the year tomorrow and hoping for a loss! Put on 300g after Christmas so not much to shift (had lost a gallbladder and the associated bloat that came with it so not a massive acheivement!)

For those trying to get steps in, if you haven't looked up Leslie Sansone on YouTube you should try it. Just done her 3 mile walk (in the living room) and nicely sweaty.

HerRoyalHappiness · 03/01/2022 20:00

@stackhead well done one staying in your calories.

Another good YouTube page to follow is teamRH. They do dance/step videos that are nice and easy to follow but definitely work up a sweat.

@hopingforabrighterfuture2021 of course you can join. Good luck, you've got this.

Hi! I really need to get on board with you all. I daren't step on the scales I'm thinking it will be 17st + maybe more
:( I'm 31 with a baby and toddler. I'd honestly be happy at 13st, I'd still be overweight but I'm more bothered about what size clothes would fit me. Anyway I need to think about what method to follow but I'm going to start getting into it and follow here for motivation

HerRoyalHappiness · 03/01/2022 20:34

Welcome @StrawberrySanta whatever method you choose well be here to support you.

Thank you @HerRoyalHappiness

@StrawberrySanta good luck. I am also in my 30s with 2 kids, although nearer 40, and my kids are older. I wish I had sorted this out when I was in my early 30s, you can absolutely do it. Good luck.

LiG123 · 03/01/2022 20:42

Me! I'd love to lose 6/8 stone. Getting married in July so I have a complete focus.

HerRoyalHappiness · 03/01/2022 20:50

@LiG123 congratulations on your upcoming wedding! How exciting!

Hi everyone, I'd love to join you too! I started slimming world in November at 21st 11lbs, lost my first stone, and then pretty much lost the plot over Christmas! Dreading my first weigh since the festive period tomorrow.

I'm turning 40 in the summer and I'd like to have lost a good few stone by then.

Lovely to meet you all! Grin

I’ve had a frustrating start to the new year. I’ve had a mild migraine for several days. When that happens I really need to not restrict calories so I haven’t been actively dieting and certainly haven’t been exercising. What I really need to do is eat something really heavy and rich. So far I’ve held off on that but I’m going to have to give in. My headache just won’t end.

HerRoyalHappiness · 03/01/2022 22:21

@CakenTea welcome!
@Blossom64265 your health comes first. If it will end the migraine, eat it.

Can I join please? I'm 5ft 1 and 18 stone.
Dunno where to begin trying to explain how I got to this point except to say that I developed severe PND and was suicidal. Food became a comfort ( a bloody massive one) on my low days. I also suspect I have some undiagnosed issues as a struggle.to function day to day and have always done so since I was a teenager.

Athenajm80 · 03/01/2022 23:06

I'd love to join in please. I weigh roughly 20st and am a size 20. A few years ago when I was first on AD I lost 2 stone and I was "only" 17 to start with. Then my 'crazy' (as I call it) went haywire, I had to change ADs and I have never had that motivation or energy back. I started Noom last year and found it really good but again, the crazy reared its head and the weight loss stopped and reversed.

I am starting B12 injections in a few weeks, plus am still trying to get on the right level of thyroxine, so hopefully those will both help.

I need to cut down on drinking, especially wine as it makes me want to snack, and make sure to shower and get dressed in the mornings (I WFH) cause otherwise going out for a walk or to the shop seems like far too much effort.

LiG123 · 04/01/2022 07:17

I have a 'bounce' class booked this morning. Let's do this!

ChunkyMonkey2020 · 04/01/2022 07:26

Wish this thread was here this time last year 😁

In February I weighed in at 21 stone 10 and I'm now 14.3 ( probably more because I've over indulged over Christmas and I haven't weighed yet. Will be doing that on Saturday)

I did something similar to Team RH. Nearly joined them but heard some bad things so joined another plan.

I still want to lose another 3 stone minimum. Will decide once I'm at 11 stone if I want to lose more.

Good luck.

Welcome *@StrawberrySanta* whatever method you choose well be here to support you.
Thank you! I'm thinking of trying Paul Mckenna Gastric Band as it's on audible. I had some success with I Can Make You Thin in the past so hopefully this will be good 🤞

Morning all, I’m 31, 20st exactly as of yesterday morning so it’s definitely time to get cracking.

My lowest ever adult weight is 15st and I’d like to get back there this year.

I had a baby in March. I lost 2st during pregnancy but liked it all back in after my hormones went a bit crackers (I have PCOS) post-birth.

Because of PCOS, the only way I’ve ever successfully lost weight is through very low carb, high fat. However, to complicate matters I also have no gallbladder but still form stones in bile ducts which is insanely painful. The more fat I eat, the more attacks I have so LCHF is out of the question now sadly.

I’ve decided to do WW. I did it years ago and lost 3 stone but abandoned it because at the time, the plan didn’t align with what I knew to be good nutrition. For example you could have 4 Mars bars for the same points as a home made chicken curry and rice packed with veggies and I basically figured out how to game the system too well. I was young!

Anyway, the plan now is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’ve tailored mine to be low sugar (I have to point up fruit although it’s very cheap) but higher protein to account for the PCOS (hopefully!). Carbs are high compared to LCHF but I can tailor this if I start to feel I’m not losing.

I have a lot of points so so far it’s not feeling at all restrictive.

Today’s menu:
b: 2 x weetabix, milk and half a banana

L: pawn stir fry

D: roast pork dinner

S: milk for my teas, I’ve got points left so I’ll snack on fruit/ snack bars if I need to.

Idontlikeworms · 04/01/2022 09:06

Morning, have weighed in and I am 13'12
I need to lose 4 st. I'm also doing WW. Have prepared and pointed everything xx

DollyDingleberry · 04/01/2022 09:09

How are you finding WW?

Idontlikeworms · 04/01/2022 09:09

@ChunkyMonkey2020 that is so impressive.

Idontlikeworms · 04/01/2022 09:10

@DollyDingleberry. I love the app and live that I can have wine or even a takeaway on a weekend. It suits me, I do well on it and am motivated

stackhead · 04/01/2022 09:41

@ChunkyMonkey2020
Wow! 6 stone in a year is amazing! Have you had any wobbles in terms of focus or have you just been on it all year?

@DollyDingleberry
I'm covering my ears at how you're still producing stones! I'm only 3 weeks post gallbladder removal Grin

First WI of 2022 and I lost 1.3kg which is awesome.

I have MFP calories set at a 0.5kg a week loss but don't count any exercise cals and (taken with a pinch of salt) that usually adds 4-500 cals a day (so an extra 0.5kg loss if the science works that week!)

HerRoyalHappiness · 04/01/2022 09:51

Well done everyone!

I love the WW ready meals. I always have a stash for when I'm in too much pain with my disabilities
and can't cook a proper meal (My oldest DS is 13 and ge cooks for himself and his siblings on those days... chicken nuggets, fish fingers etc)

Today's meals are

Porridge

Ham salad wrap

Hunters chicken and rice

Supper will be an apple and a skinny whip bar, and some grapes or blueberries, whatever I fancy of those later.

Welcome to all the people joining and well done to those having good weigh-ins so far!

DH got home from work just before midnight last night and proceeded to open his Christmas box of Celebrations he was hiding. He then gave me all the Snickers. I was good and only had two though, but I didn't count them because I was already in bed. Blush I'm keeping the rest for when I'm having a good low cal day and fancy a treat.

I slept in until 10 this morning so might end up having a brunch instead, I struggle to eat as soon as I'm awake so breakfast is usually a couple of hours after I've got up. If I didn't use all the eggs the other day I think I'll go for poached eggs this morning as I do find eggs fill me up for a nice long time.

No plans for dinner yet. We need to do a food shop so it just depends what I have in the freezer to use. Might just be some plain chicken and frozen veg.

I should really stock up on some ready meals for when I'm having a bad pain day. I used to like a few of the WW ones which I think I should find locally. I like some of the SW ones too but we don't have an Iceland here and they're too far away to deliver. I'll check out other low cal options in the local supermarkets too though, DH loves the Morrisons ready meals when he's working so I'll give them a try.

I'm trying not to make very post I write in here turn into an essay but I'm not doing very well. I've always been an over-talker and over-explainer. 🙈

Katyppp · 04/01/2022 10:49

Today's the day! Restarting WW and getting to grips with yet another points system! Can't weigh myself as the scales are in my 17-year-old autistic daughter's bedroom and she is blanking me at the mo, but I was 21st last Monday so I shall take that as my starting point
