Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/12/2021 11:07

Im 30 and I weigh 19st 7lb.

Ideally I'd like to lose 10st. I'm obese and I hate it.
I started again dieting yesterday.

I can only manage 5000 steps a day due to being disabled, and I do those with a frame.

I'm hopeful that if I lose the weight there'll be less pressure on my already buggered joints.

Anyone else with a lot to lose would you like a daily check in thread with me?

I didn't know that, I could have sworn it wasn't in the guidelines but I could have missed it. I've been under a lot of stress lately. Lesson learnt.

Morning all. Weighed in the morning and have stayed the same which I’m disappointed with. But I’m not surprised, I haven’t had the best week so I’m going to try and do better. So I have been snacking on Brazil nuts but not actually weighing them so if I do have them I’m going to weigh in. I’ve also not been strict with fasting, it’s not always possible with work but I’ve been having a Diet Coke in the morning which I think is breaking my fast. So I’m not going to have that now and I’m going to walk to/from the bus stop for work which is 1.5miles each way although possibly not on Monday/Tuesday when it’s going to be 38 degrees! So hopefully that will help.

HerRoyalHappiness · 16/07/2022 08:36

Sounds like you have a plan @Prettybubblesintheair I hope it works for you.

I am doing really well. Not even hungry at all which is amazing as usually.im a comfort eater
But I don't know why but this time feels different. Even my mum has commented on how much more determined I seem this time around.

That’s brilliant @HerRoyalHappiness well done! I have to say I’ve been lacking that commitment this week. I think it’s starting this job, although I’m really enjoying it it is making me feel a bit “fuck it” with dieting. I’ve been reaching for convenience foods like chips over potatoes etc and not exercising as much. So I’m going to really knuckle down this week. I’ll have a look at exante too as I’m feeling really hungry! Thank

HerRoyalHappiness · 16/07/2022 17:17

Just had my 3rd shake of the day

I really can't wait for the weight to drop off me. Also my mum said if I cam lose 40lb we'll go to the aquarium and she'll touch a starfish. She hates fish. She's terrified of them.
Challenge accepted 😂

@HerRoyalHappiness so pleased to see how positive you are about this - great work.
Well, today I have lost 1/2lb and I'm ecstatic - it might only be 1/2 lb, but it brings my total loss to 4st! It's almost a year since I started and I feel happy that I can keep going - I know that at some point I will have to 'up my game' a bit as the loss will begin to slow down, but for the moment I am so happy. Taking it slow has given me a chance to get comfortable with the new way of eating, I have noticed my body shape has altered and , so far, I do not have a load of excess skin (not sating I won't at some point, but possibly doing it slowly has allowed my body to adapt more easily?) I know I still have a long way to go, but for today, I feel on top of the world!
Hope everyone else is feeling good , though I'm not sure about the next few days weatherwise.

HerRoyalHappiness · 16/07/2022 19:34

@blueplan huge congratulations on the 4st! You should be incredibly proud of yourself

Guess who's gone and injured themselves again? 🤦🏼‍♀️

I might not be around much as I'm in a cycle of painkillers and sleep (when I can) at the moment. I somehow managed to get on the scales though and I've lost 1lb this week - 6.5lb off in total.

I'll try to catch up when I can but it's hard to focus on reading at the moment, sorry. Sad

HerRoyalHappiness · 19/07/2022 05:19

Oh no @ShinyPikachu you rest up and come back when you're ready.

I've lost a total of 5lb this week so I'm pleased with that.

ShinyPikachu · 20/07/2022 10:18

Well done @HerRoyalHappiness and thank you. I think it's starting to get better but I keep doing too much and making it worse for myself again.

It's hard to rest though when DH is having to work constantly, eldest teen keeps going out with friends despite being asked to stay home to help, youngest teen is struggling with mental health right now (although has been great at looking after me, I just feel guilty putting so much on her) and then multiple dogs who have all been struggling with the heat. Sad

HerRoyalHappiness · 20/07/2022 14:42

I could cry. I phoned neuro today to find out when my appointment will be. Minimum of 50 week wait 😭
I don't know what I'm meant to do in the mean time. I'm in agony and rheumatologist won't give me a steroid injection until I've seen neuro, A&E didn't give me any advice in what to do about this herniated disc other than take it easy. Nothing about how long for or how easy I'm meant to take it or if I'm even allowed to walk any distance with my aids.

I struggle to walk anyway and this is juts exacerbating that. Im on constant pain and I'm still numb in the saddle and I just don't know how I'm expected to cope for almost a year.

@ShinyPikachu that sounds hard. Animals and gest don't mix and teens with MH issues is difficult. I have one. He's really been struggling. He's beating himself up at the minute because he didn't get all 1s (excellent) on his report and got a whole 3 number 2s (good)
He's really upset about it. I keep trying to explain to him that it's fine, he's done amazingly but he doesn't seem to want to listen right now. He's too busy feeling sorry for himself. Which I get, it's not what he expected and he tries so hard in school. But it's not the end of the world.

Oh that's ridiculous @HerRoyalHappiness I hope they can work something out for you to get something to help and I hope the surgery will be sooner than that. Sad

Echoes89 · 23/07/2022 10:41

Just checking in as I have finally lost 4 stone 0.5lbs 😁 had a cold this week and combined with the heat, not had a big appetite. Will have another mini goal now to get under the 13 stone mark. Think I need little goals now as it's taking longer to lose a lb than it was. In about 3 weeks it'll be a year since I started to lose weight and I never would have thought I would lose this much. I think the most I've ever lost before was about a stone and I would put it back on almost instantly and then carry on putting on a bit more weight. Very rarely proud of myself for anything, but genuinely pleased with how well I've done this year.
Hope everyone else is well and has a good weekend

SW - 17st 3lbs
CW - 13st 2.5lbs
GW - 10st 6lbs

HerRoyalHappiness · 23/07/2022 14:01

Amazing @Echoes89

I've switched from exante to slimfast and feel much happier for it. I feel fuller and like I can actually do this. In less than two weeks I've lost 10lb. I'm so happy.

Congratulations that’s brilliant @HerRoyalHappiness! I lost 2lb this week, happy with that. I’m not getting the big losses I used to at the beginning but that’s ok, I’m just happy to be losing!

HerRoyalHappiness · 24/07/2022 07:33

@Prettybubblesintheair 2lbs is fantastic, well done! 👏

What's everyone's plan for today? I plan on having a lazy Sunday and making sausage butties for tea lateru.

I randomly got my period that wasn’t due for 10 days so mostly slobbing around! I’ll do some washing and dh is threatening to paint the kitchen which will require my help to empty it and I’m definitely not in the mood!

HerRoyalHappiness · 24/07/2022 10:29

Oh no! Can he not wait a few days? No ones in the mood when they're on their period!

Some absolutely HUGE losses this week! I’m so impressed. Please could everyone tell me what diet they’re following? I’m calorie counting and only lost 1lb last week (weigh in is Monday). I’ve got so so do much weight to lose, so 1lb really is pathetic.

sorry you’re in so much pain @ShinyPikachu

HerRoyalHappiness · 24/07/2022 15:29

@OhFatty a pound is not pathetic! At all! It's amazing. Well done. I'm now following slimfast 321, 3 snacks, 2 shakes, 1 meal
I usually have porridge for breakfast (meal)
Shake for lunch
Shake for tea
And then the snacks later on at night when I get peckish. Its really working for me. I don't feel deprived in anyway at all.

This is a pound of fat. Its fantastic to lose a pound.

Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?
OP posts:
OhFatty · 24/07/2022 19:08

Thank you @HerRoyalHappiness I needed to see that! It’s only that I’ve got so much to lose.

Your slim fast diet sounds good, and you’re doing so well! I’m going to continue with calorie counting for now, but keep it in mind for a bit further along 😀

HerRoyalHappiness · 24/07/2022 19:14

I have a lot to lose too, but chipping away at it a pound at a time is the way to go. Good luck with your calorie counting. I'm far too lazy to weigh out every morsel that passes my lips 😂

OP posts:
Echoes89 · 24/07/2022 19:33

@OhFatty not really following a set diet tbh. I never really eat breakfast, slimfast shake at lunch, maybe a pack of crisps and a meal in the evening, been ordering hellofresh with most the meals I pick being about 650ish. Then I give myself a break at the weekends really because I like to go out for meals or a drink and I can't be bothered to calorie count if I'm out to enjoy myself.
Any weight loss is a good thing, so be proud of every lb you lose, it's so much harder to lose than it is to gain!

Sunshineandrainbow · 24/07/2022 20:25

Hi everyone.
I am similar weight to Op and really struggling with life. I don't have scales but hopped on a patients set last week.
I feel like I have tried every diet going and not stuck to anything. I am basically constantly thinking about food and I don't know what to do. I have even tried xenicol from the GP.
Can anyone help me with this mamouth task?
