Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/12/2021 11:07

Im 30 and I weigh 19st 7lb.

Ideally I'd like to lose 10st. I'm obese and I hate it.
I started again dieting yesterday.

I can only manage 5000 steps a day due to being disabled, and I do those with a frame.

I'm hopeful that if I lose the weight there'll be less pressure on my already buggered joints.

Anyone else with a lot to lose would you like a daily check in thread with me?

@ShinyPikachu I am a fellow hammer! Well, my dad is but then I committed the ultimate sin of marrying a spurs fan so I may have been disowned!

ShinyPikachu · 04/07/2022 17:53

@Prettybubblesintheair Oh dear! Haha. I'm actually Scottish so I support teams up here too (my local one and the one from where I was born, thankfully in different leagues) but my gran was from Romford so the Hammers had to be my English team. Plus I love bubbles. Grin

I've just been talking to DH about the new kit. I don't mind it but I know a lot of people are hating it this year. Will be interesting to see the away one when it's released.

Prettybubblesintheair · 04/07/2022 20:39

Same I just really love the song and I use to sing it to my kids when they were babies so it has a lot of happy memories for me 😊

HerRoyalHappiness · 05/07/2022 06:31

Happy Tuesday everyone. Let's smash it!

Thai green chicken curry tonight for our main meal with rice. I usually have naan too but I'm skipping the "rip and dip" today.

Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone has a good day!

Doctors appointment...doctor sat there with my notes up on the screen...
D: So what exactly do you have wrong with you?

M: Well I've not been sleeping

D: no no, not that, what about your disabilities you said you're disabled

M: yes it's on my notes, I have fibromyalgia, ehlers-danlos-syndrome and arthritis.

D: oh right. And what do you do for work?

M: I'm disabled...

D: so you just sit and do nothing?

M: no I have hobbies and I raise my children

D: how do you take care of your children if you're so tired

M: the youngest is 6... its not like he's a newborn he can amuse himself.

D: yes but still needs his mother

M: and he still has his mother

D: yes but you're disabled

M: yes. That doesn't stop me being a mother.

D: well you've tried zopiclone there's nothing I can do for you, phone your mental health team.

Cheers doc. Helpful. I'm furious. He was more concerned with my parenting or possible lack of it than he was with my sleep being none existent.
On top of that I have a depressed teen who was threatened with a knife the other day and so far police have done nothing. I've lodged a complaint to them about their lack of action. When a 13 year old dials 999 because an older boy is waving a knife in his face I expect them to do more than "well we have no evidence he has a knife so we can't search him" despite there being witnesses to back my son up

<sigh>

Oh my god that’s awful how insulting how bloody dare he insinuate you can’t parent just because you’re disabled that’s awful. Sorry to hear you’re not sleeping, I loved zopiclone but ended up needing it all the time so I’m not allowed it now! I’ve actually had a lot of success with melatonin, have you tried it?

HerRoyalHappiness · 05/07/2022 15:36

I've not tried it but I have ordered some.
My mental health team are sorting a prescription of promethazine for me so hopefully that helps. I've also ordered some CBD to see if that works too. I'll try anything at this point.

Prettybubblesintheair · 05/07/2022 16:41

Not sleeping is the absolute worse, it affects absolutely everything including weight loss! My gp gave me a months worth of melatonin 2mg but I’m going to buy some when I’ve run out. It’s really helped me. I was on mirtazipine for years, came off it a couple of months ago to try to help with weight loss but god it made me sleep like the dead and I miss that!

I bought a dress on vinted for my aunts 60th on the 30th and it’s too small ☹️I think I need to lose at least a stone to get in and not sure that’s achievable in 3 weeks! But it’s my dads 60th in august so hopefully it’ll fit by then. It’s an 18 but from lipsy which can come up smaller I think.

HerRoyalHappiness · 05/07/2022 16:44

Yeah lipsy definitely come up small. It's frustrating how different styles, designers, colours even, all end up being a different fit despite claiming to be the same size. Surely it would be easier to go off inches like men do.

OP posts:
Prettybubblesintheair · 05/07/2022 17:46

I know dh was saying that the other day when I was trying stuff on. I’ve currently got 14, 16, 18 and 20 dresses that fit me! I can buy a 14 in one shop yet an 18 in another doesn’t fit it’s so frustrating!

I’m having Thai salmon and cod fishcakes with roasted mini potatoes and rocket tonight followed by some M&S birthday cake ice cream which is only 280 calories a tub so I won’t feel guilty for eating half 😂

Prettybubblesintheair · 05/07/2022 23:35

I bought some slimtee from Holland and Barrett and stupidly didn’t read the box, it contains senna! So instead of a walk this evening I’ve spent it running to the loo! It definitely works so next time I’m having trouble going I’ll know what to do! I thought it was just like a kind of green tea but nope…it’s poop-tea!

Fifi0102 · 05/07/2022 23:43

SW 18 stone 1
CW 10 stone 10
GW 10 stone 7

Nearly there now in size 12 clothes yipee

ShinyPikachu · 05/07/2022 23:48

That's awful @HerRoyalHappiness I'm so sorry the doctor was such a twat. I hope the meds help you.

I'm in a fibro flare right now after doing so much last week. We ended up having a Dominos tonight as DH has had a long weekend off work and DC were at my parents' house. DH works back shift all the time so it's rare for us to get to eat dinner together like that. He ordered so much that I think I should have enough for lunch and dinner tomorrow too so back on track after that.

I've been so bloated recently I can't wait to get back on track and hopefully manage to cook even if I'm in pain. I got the Slimming Eats cookbook for my birthday so I can't wait to try some of the recipes in there.

Prettybubblesintheair · 06/07/2022 00:14

Wow @Fifi0102 that’s amazing well
done you! How long has it taken you to lose that much?

ShinyPikachu · 06/07/2022 00:59

Must have missed your post when typing mine @Fifi0102 well done!!!

HerRoyalHappiness · 06/07/2022 02:36

@Fifi0102 amazing! Huge well done.
As you can all gather sleep didn't happen again. So I'm up and cleaning my kitchen at this time of night.

I had a hard Time sleeping last night too. Didn’t drop off until about 2! Felt really tired and headachey all day today but managed a 20 hour fast and walked 15,000 steps so that’s good. I also picked up two dresses from new look in a size 18 and they’re almost too big! So feeling good about that. I start my new job on Monday. It’s in a dentists on reception and i’m so nervous! Also stressed that it’s going to be 32 degrees!

HerRoyalHappiness · 07/07/2022 01:38

That's amazing @Prettybubblesintheair
Sorry you didn't sleep. Lack of sleep is awful, but you still went out there and smashed the day! You should be incredibly proud of yourself.

OP posts:
HerRoyalHappiness · 07/07/2022 06:56

Good morning. Another night of no sleep for me. I'm exhausted. I've gained 2lb and am the heaviest I've ever been. Lack of sleep really is affecting me badly.

OP posts:
Prettybubblesintheair · 07/07/2022 11:09

Oh @HerRoyalHappiness I’m sorry to hear that. I honestly think sleep is so connected to weight loss. I had a better night but was still up 4 times to pee! I didn’t drink much water during the day yesterday so tried to make up for it by drinking pints in the evening but definitely paid for it!

Prettybubblesintheair · 09/07/2022 00:12

Weigh in tomorrow morning!

HerRoyalHappiness · 09/07/2022 07:49

Good luck @Prettybubblesintheair
My weigh in day too.
I won't have done well, had a stressful week

OP posts:
ShinyPikachu · 09/07/2022 09:47

It seems that I've joined those of you with sleep issues. I'm positive I'm in a fibro flare now as it's pain that's waking me up then I can't get back to sleep. Yesterday I was up at 7am which is unheard of for me (I'd finally fallen asleep at 3am) and last night I was still awake at 4.30am before finally drifting off and then I woke in agony a few times through the night but finally admitted defeat at 9am.

It's just the knock on affects too. When I'm tired and sore it's harder for me to move around and do anything, it's harder for me to cook (although I'm out for a meal again tonight 🙈) and both those things contribute to my body feeling sorer and stiffer and I'm more likely to eat easy junk rather than healthier foods. I did stock up on fruit yesterday so at least I know I have healthy things to grab if I need to. I'm going to force myself to walk to the restaurant tonight too, it's only a 10 minute walk so it's at least something.

As my username suggests, I love Pokémon so I think I need to get out and about and start playing Pokémon Go more so I'm not focusing on pain when I'm walking and I might walk a bit further if I have rewards from it. Grin

HerRoyalHappiness · 09/07/2022 09:55

@ShinyPikachu I love pokemon too.

I also agree that everything seems so much harder when you're in pain and tired. That's why I won't have done well this week at all
