Anyone else with 10st plus to lose?

HerRoyalHappiness · 28/12/2021 11:07

Im 30 and I weigh 19st 7lb.

Ideally I'd like to lose 10st. I'm obese and I hate it.
I started again dieting yesterday.

I can only manage 5000 steps a day due to being disabled, and I do those with a frame.

I'm hopeful that if I lose the weight there'll be less pressure on my already buggered joints.

Anyone else with a lot to lose would you like a daily check in thread with me?

Well done @blueplan

Massive hugs @HerRoyalHappiness and well done on the loss. I'm so glad you have such great friends who are there for you.

After not being on it the last two weeks and having little gains I've managed to lose 2.5lb this week. I haven't tracked at all but I've just had the mojo to cook more instead of going for takeaways but I even had a lovely meal out on Friday night, one I don't even want to know the calories in but I had been super careful at the start of the day knowing I would want to treat myself.

I'm tracking again from today as I know I'll mess it up this week if I don't.

HerRoyalHappiness · 24/05/2022 23:43

thank you, im glad i have such good friends too, many of them i met because of MN, and i dont know what id do without them in my life, especially my best frend, she does so much for me and doesnt even realise what a great person she truly is.

ive gained half a pound back but thats from comfort eating after my incident. back on it tomorrow.

@HerRoyalHappiness
I hope your 'restart' has gone well.
I have managed to lose another 1 1/2lbs, so I'm now at 3st 12 1/2lbs. Would live to get to 4st next week as we are away for a few days the following week and I would love to feel I can relax a bit for those few days.
Hope everyone else has had a good week.

Pawtucketbrew · 29/05/2022 21:10

Can I join? Currently weigh 20 stone and would like to weigh 12. Always been big but a combination of SSRIs and menopause has seen me balloon over past 8 years. I think I've been in denial but went to family event this weekend where photos were taken. I felt like crying when I saw them. I still can't believe I look like that but obviously I do. No clothes fit anymore and it's affecting my health. I really need the motivation to do this.

HerRoyalHappiness · 30/05/2022 14:04

Of course you can @Pawtucketbrew I've been off plan for a week or so and gained back 4lb 😳 whoops. So back on track today. Went to the beach with the kids yesterday and had an absolute blast.

Hi @Pawtucketbrew.

I am at 20st 7 1/2lbs, having lost 3st 12 1/2 lbs. It has taken a long time - almost 10 months, but I have deliberately chosen a slow path since I know that I have to have a plan I can follow for a long time. I hope to lose between 1 and 2lbs a week and generally speaking have managed to achieve that. Do you know how you are going to tackle this? I think we're all doing it differently on this thread because with such a lot to lose, we are all conscious that there is not really a quick fix option for us.

Pawtucketbrew · 30/05/2022 19:54

Thanks. My plan is 16:8 to start with so I'm not denying myself anything. So hopefully in that way reduce calorie intake as well. I also need to start strengthening exercises as extra weight affecting joint pain. I'd like to walk more too so I guess the answer is a combination of healthy eating in a smaller window and upping exercise.

I know it will take a long time. I just feel angry that I've let it get to this point.

ShinyPikachu · 01/06/2022 13:22

Hi and welcome @Pawtucketbrew

I forgot to check in on Monday but it was another family birthday week when we were out for a big meal and drinks and I couldn't resist a nice slice of cheesecake too. Ended up gaining 2.5lb and I'm in a horrible fibro flare again so I'm struggling again rbis week. I just want to sleep and don't have the energy to make any food. Even a sandwich feels like effort right now. I wish we had a takeaway locally with more healthy options but at the same time I'm always too tempted by the unhealthy stuff because that's usually the tastiest too. BlushGrin

HerRoyalHappiness · 01/06/2022 15:47

@ShinyPikachu I completely understand that. Im struggling too with a flare up of my disabilities. My own fault for taking the kids to the seaside really. I knew it would make me sore but I still went.

Hi all. Another 1lb down when I weighed this morning. A little frustrated as I had hoped to hit the 4st mark this weekend and being just 1/2lb away from that milestone 'so near, yet so far'. Oh well. We are having a few days away this week, so I know that next week I will either have put on, or if I am lucky, I will stay the same. That doesn't worry me, I know that I will be back on track within a week or so of returning home.
Hope everyone is OK and keeping their motivation levels up.

HerRoyalHappiness · 04/06/2022 17:24

Well done @blueplan a loss is a loss.
I'm doing OK, had a bad few days with my MH but keeping on track diet wise.

DuckWithOneWing · 05/06/2022 09:43

I'm doing ok. I've just come back from a week's holiday where I gained a bit but not as much as I expected! So I'm back on it all now. Hope everyone else is doing ok, and I agree that even though it might be an annoying time, a loss is still a loss! You'll get it next week @Blueplan

Echoes89 · 05/06/2022 12:41

Down to 13st 7.5lbs. did manage to get down to 13sr 5.75lbs, then put 4lbs back on due to going out to eat and too many take aways, so lost a couple lbs that I put back on. So trying to get back on it again. Really want to get that 4.5lbs off over the next 2-3 week

SW 17st 3lbs
GW 10st 6lbs
CW 13st 7.5lbs

HerRoyalHappiness · 05/06/2022 15:24

Well done everyone

My ex bought me two huge boxes of my favourite chocolates yesterday, trying ti worm his way back in. Not going to happen. I gave the chocolates to the children. 😁

I gained again this week. I've been walking a lot more but because I've been in a bit of a fibro flare I've been eating utter junk because it's easier. I've also had a lot of stress with DD2 and I've noticed my wine intake has been creeping up so cutting that out for now and just need to motivate myself to get back on track. I'm now the heaviest I've ever been and weigh more than when I first started and I'm just so fed up of my body fighting me whenever I try to do anything physical right now. Sad

DuckWithOneWing · 08/06/2022 20:11

Now you know the issues, @ShinyPikachu can you do anything to fix it? I have days where I'm in so much pain I can't cook, and so I've started to keep ready meals and steamfresh vegetables in the freezer. I've also deleted the saved passwords for Just Eat etc, which makes it a bit harder to order a takeaway as I actually have to remember them and type them in! So it's a bit easier to eat (slightly better) stuff - I'm not saying the ready meals and veg are amazingly healthy, but it's a lot better than the other usual alternative!

HerRoyalHappiness · 08/06/2022 21:43

At least you know why @ShinyPikachu thats a good first step to combating it.

DS2 noticed I've lost weight this morning. He gave me a hug and said "oooh mummy, your belly isn't as squishy" 😂

blueplan · 11/06/2022 14:14

So, this week I have put on 4lbs. I'm actually very happy with that as we have been away and not followed our regular eating pattern at all - eaten out every day, including a very indulgent meal that was actually given to me (in voucher form) two Christmases ago! So, now we are home we can begin to return to our regular eating habits in the knowledge that even a week 'off' the plan altogether, hasn't done irreparable damage.
Hope everyone else is doing well and feeling brighter with the sunnier (but not too hot) weather.

HerRoyalHappiness · 11/06/2022 15:27

@blueplan well done, that's a great mindset to have.

OP posts:
HerRoyalHappiness · 13/06/2022 06:10

It's the start of a brand new week. Let's do this.
What are your plans for the week?
How do you plan on dealing with emotional eating if that's an issue for you?
Are you planning any exercise?

OP posts:
ShinyPikachu · 13/06/2022 13:23

Sorry I've not been around but it's been crazy here and I needed a bit of a pity party by myself after my last weigh in.

As for meals and stuff, I was getting some of the WW meals for me but it doesn't help me feed the kids and if left to their own devices then instead of cooking anything they know how to cook they just eat toast and crisps. And I was doing a lot of that myself, just going back to old habits and eating crisps instead of meals.

But I've been sort of back on things this week, I've been walking a lot more (when my dodgy knees allow) and while I haven't been counting anything I had enough energy to do some batch cooking which I've been relying on. Money is getting tight for us with various things at the moment so we can't really afford me buying ready meals at the moment so I just need to keep up with batch cooking on my good days I think.

And so I've lost 5lb this week. Smile I'm still around 19.5st and it's more than when I first came here but considering how things were creeping up I'm happy to be back on track. I've also started counting my calories again today.

Echoes89 · 13/06/2022 13:50

Want to start meal planning a bit better, maybe need to go out drinking a little less and could do with adding a bit of exercise tbh. So close to losing 4 stone just 3.25lbs away, really need to be good next couple of weeks to reach that target. If I can lose another 0.5 lbs I officially have less than 3 stone until my goal weight which psychologically feels alot closer to say I need to lose 2st 13.75lbs than 3 stone+

SW 17st 3lbs
GW 10st 6lbs
CW 13st 6.25lbs

ShinyPikachu · 20/06/2022 10:44

Another 1.5lb off this week despite what I thought was an awful week. So I'm now at 6.5lb in two weeks.

I think the nicer weather is helping as I'm definitely getting out of the house for a walk a lot more now.

HerRoyalHappiness · 20/06/2022 12:21

Well done @ShinyPikachu that's great.

I've not lost anything this week but I didn't gain so I'm taking it as a win

OP posts:
HerRoyalHappiness · 21/06/2022 12:41

Well I went a whole 1000 calories over yesterday Blush

back on it today. I must get this weight off somehow. 😩 I'm so sick of being obese and feeling uncomfortable in my body so why oh why do I self sabotage?!

It's like I'm punishing myself with food. Rather than eating for enjoyment I've discovered I use it as a way to self harm, I force myself to eat even when I'm not hungry just because I feel like crap and have to hurt myself somehow.
